Abstract

Among all the gas disasters, gas concentration exceeding the threshold limit value (TLV) has been the leading cause of accidents. However, most systems still focus on exploring the methods and framework for avoiding reaching or exceeding TLV of the gas concentration from viewpoints of impacts on geological conditions and coal mining working-face elements. The previous study developed a Trip-Correlation Analysis Theoretical Framework and found strong correlations between gas and gas, gas and temperature, and gas and wind in the gas monitoring system. However, this framework's effectiveness must be examined to determine whether it might be adopted in other coal mine cases. This research aims to explore a proposed verification analysis approach—First-round—Second-round—Verification round (FSV) analysis approach to verify the robustness of the Trip-Correlation Analysis Theoretical Framework for developing a gas warning system. A mixed qualitative and quantitative research methodology is adopted, including a case study and correlational research. The results verify the robustness of the Triple-Correlation Analysis Theoretical Framework. The outcomes imply that this framework is potentially valuable for developing other warning systems. The proposed FSV approach can also be used to explore data patterns insightfully and offer new perspectives to develop warning systems for different industry applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A TA1 (Ti alloy)/low alloy steel (LAS) composite plate was manufactured by explosive welding. The effects of the bonding interface microstructure on the mechanical properties and fracture behavior of the composite plate were investigated. The results show that the interface has a wavy structure with intermetallic compounds (IMCs) enclosed by a steel matrix. The metallurgical bonding interface was achieved by local diffusion, with a several micrometer-thick diffusion layer. Two kinds of microcracks were formed in the IMC region and the diffusion interface. Microcracks in the IMC region propagate with difficulty due to the impediment of the IMC/steel interface. The microcracks initiated at the interface need to propagate into the fine-grain steel matrix before crack connection and delamination. The shear strength of the TA1/LAS composite plate was over 350 MPa. The composite plate could be bent up to the equipment limit (135 degrees). Excellent mechanical properties were obtained since the crack propagation was hindered by the refined or elongated steel grains induced during explosive welding.

Abstract

Reduced-activation refractory complex concentrated alloys (RARCCAs) are promising for nuclear industrial applications due to their high strength, corrosion resistance, and irradiation resistance. However, the poor phase stability of the matrix and formation of a brittle second phase result in a poor strength-ductility balance. A novel Ti 0.5 Hf 0.25 Ta 0.25 RARCCA with a single bcc (body-centered cubic) phase possessing excellent strength and ductility synergy is successfully developed in this study by deliberately combining the "d-electron" method and the empirical parameters calculation. The yield and tensile strengths are 903 and 929 MPa, respectively, with an excellent ductility of approximately 22%. A new type of ω precipitate with a small size (∼1.7 nm) is introduced, contributing to a strength increment of approximately 150 MPa through shearing mechanism without sacrificing ductility. Dislocation slip dominates the deformation during tension at room temperature. • A new alloy design strategy combining the "d-electron" method and the empirical parameters calculation is developed. • A novel Ti 0.5 Hf 0.25 Ta 0.25 reduced-activation refractory complex concentrated alloy with single BCC phase is designed. • High density nano-sized ω precipitates increase the yield strength of about 150 MPa without sacrificing ductility. • Bo-Md diagram is introduced to evaluate the phase stability of refractory complex concentrated alloys. Abstract

This paper analyzed the Grey response of infrastructures on the scale of Oasis cities in Xinjiang by Comprehensive Grey Relation Degree method with city date in 1978–2007. The results showed: (1) Grey Response Degree(GRD) of infrastructure on cities comprehesive scale are middle response type.(2) Cities have the same minimum GRD of infrastructure, which stabilized about 0.5. But the maximum GRD of infrastructures are different. (3)The variations of GRD of temporal belong to declined, stability and ascending type.

Abstract

This paper studies the evolution of the spatial pattern of economic structure of the Economic Belt of the Northern of Tianshan Moutains in Xinjiang in 1978–2007 with the relative information and data by the combination of methods of ESDA-AcrGis. The results showed that: (1)The economic pattern of EBNSTM in the study period is not obvious change, and the economic differences had reduced in 1978–1990 and rapidly had expanded in 1990–1995. (2)The economic center as Urumqi, Karamay and Shihezi cities are in the accumulation stage, and have been weak diffusion to the surrounding counties. The “Space Matthew” in the cities and countries of economy backward are effecting significantly. (3)Both differences in resource endowments and economic development strategy are the important factors to the evolution of economic structure of EBNSTM.

Abstract

This paper analyzed Grey Effect of infrastructures on city comprehensive scale of 22 cities in Xinjiang by Comprehensive Grey Relation Degree (CGCD) method with city date in 1978–2007. The results showed: (1) Grey Effect Degree(GED) of infrastructure on city scale are middling effect and strong effect types. (2) The cities which economic scales are impacted most by infrastructure are of 45.5% of total cities. (3) GED increase mainly in 1978–2007.

Abstract

This paper analyzes the problems and trends of water environment and mechanisms of the problems by Ridit Analysis and other qualitative and quantitative analysis methods with water monitoring data and economical data in Xinjiang in 2001-2006. The results show: (1)water qualities of rivers of Xinjiang are slightly pollution and that of Northern is more serious than that of southern in Xinjiang, and water qualities of rivers far from urban are better than those across urban. The trend of water quality change of river is stable in 2001-2006. (2) Water qualities of lakes and reservoirs are middle level pollution, and water quality of lakes is better than that of reservoirs. The trend of water quality change of lakes and reservoirs are stable. (3) Water qualities of drinking-water source are good totally and its trend of changes is stable. Quality of groundwater of Urumqi city is badly, and its trend of changes is stable. The main reasons leading to water environment problems are: (1) industrial structure are heavy that cause larger pollution water.(2) Economy of Xinjiang is in the Stage of rapid developing that requires excess water. (3)Urban infrastructure is weak. (4) Pollution of rural is heavy, and (5) protractions of drinking-water source is not well.

Abstract

One of the keys to allowing Mg alloys to serve as biodegradable materials is how to balance their degradation behaviours and mechanical properties in physiological environment. In this study, a novel Mg–6Ho–0.5Zn alloy (wt%) containing profuse basal plane stacking faults (SFs) is prepared. This newly-developed alloy with SFs exhibiting uniform corrosion behaviour, low corrosion rate and high mechanical properties, as compared to the classic Mg–Ho based alloys (Mg–6Ho and Mg–6Ho–1.5Zn). Furthermore, the Mg–6Ho–0.5Zn alloy shows no significant toxicity to Saos-2 cells. An original uniform corrosion mechanism is proposed by combining the special defect structure, orientation of SFs and promptly effective corrosion film. The development of the new microstructure for Mg–Ho based alloys with desirable corrosion performance has important implications in developing novel degradable Mg-based implant materials.
