121. Quality Evaluation of Park Green Space Based on Multi-Source Spatial Data in Shenyang.

Abstract

Park green spaces serve as essential urban public recreation spaces and represent significant components of urban construction land. Investigating the quality of park green spaces is a vital requirement for the establishment of a high-quality urban living environment and the enhancement of land use efficiency. This study developed a quality evaluation index system for park green spaces in Shenyang, considering the constituent elements of recreational spaces. By categorizing 168 park spaces into four size grades and employing the entropy-TOPSIS method with multiple data sources, the research assessed and analyzed the generally quality of park green spaces in Shenyang. Additionally, the study analyzed factors limiting park green spaces and introduced the Recreational Quality Index (RQI) to represent the distribution of park green space resources within the study area. The results demonstrated that 46 low-quality park green spaces require urgent improvement, and the riverside area and the vicinity of the second ring road possess high-quality park green space resources. Barriers of the same scale in park green spaces exhibited similar characteristics. Park green spaces in Huanggu District were allocated recreational resources optimally. The analysis determined that system construction and deep cultural heritage are crucial factors. This study can offer a scientific basis and recommendations for the development of park green spaces and the enhancement of efficient urban land use. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) methods for the automatic detection and quantification of COVID-19 lesions in chest computed tomography (CT) might play an important role in the monitoring and management of the disease. We organized an international challenge and competition for the development and comparison of AI algorithms for this task, which we supported with public data and state-of-the-art benchmark methods. Board Certified Radiologists annotated 295 public images from two sources (A and B) for algorithms training (n=199, source A), validation (n=50, source A) and testing (n=23, source A; n=23, source B). There were 1,096 registered teams of which 225 and 98 completed the validation and testing phases, respectively. The challenge showed that AI models could be rapidly designed by diverse teams with the potential to measure disease or facilitate timely and patient-specific interventions. This paper provides an overview and the major outcomes of the COVID-19 Lung CT Lesion Segmentation Challenge - 2020.

Abstract

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) is an economically important crop worldwide. Root‐knot nematodes (RKNs) are responsible for yield losses in tobacco and other crops, such as tomato, potato, peanut, and soybean. Therefore, screening for resistance genes that can prevent RKN infestation and the associated damage is crucial. However, there is no report of cloning tobacco RKN resistance genes to date. Here, we cloned the tobacco RKN resistance gene NtRk1 from the resistant variety TI706, using rapid amplification of cDNA ends. NtRk1 has high homology with other RKN resistance genes (CaMi in pepper, Mi‐1.1 and Mi‐1.2 in tomato). Under normal conditions, NtRk1 was barely expressed in the roots; however, following RKN infection, its expression level rapidly increased. Overexpression of NtRk1 in the susceptible cultivar "Changbohuang" enhanced its resistance to Meloidogyne incognita, while RNA interference of NtRk1 in the resistant cultivar K326 resulted in its susceptibility to M. incognita. Moreover, compared with resistant variety K326, we found the salicylic acid and jasmonic acid contents of RNAi plants decreased after inoculation with M. incognita, and confirmed that the function of NtRk1 is related to these phytohormones. These findings indicate that NtRk1 is an RKN resistance gene, which is abundantly expressed in response to RKN infection and may enhance host defense responses by elevating salicylic acid and jasmonic acid levels. Abstract

ObjectiveT-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is a rare hematological malignancy with a poor prognosis. The present study aims to identify the precise risk grouping of children with T-ALL.MethodsWe analyzed the outcomes for 105 consecutive patients treated using the Chinese Children’s Cancer Group ALL-2015 (CCCG-ALL-2015) protocol registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR-IPR-14005706) between 2015 and 2020 in our center. Nine out of 21 clinical and biological indicators were selected for the new scoring system based on the analysis in this study.ResultsThe 5-year overall survival (OS), event-free survival (EFS), and disease-free survival (DFS) rates for the 105 patients were 83.1 ± 4.8%, 72.4 ± 5.6%, and 78.4 ± 3.6%, respectively. Based on the new scoring system, 90 evaluable children were regrouped into low-risk (n=22), intermediate-risk (n=50), and high-risk (n=18) groups. The 5-year survival (OS, EFS, and RFS) rates for all patients in the low-risk group were 100%, significantly higher than the rates for those in the intermediate-risk group (91.2 ± 5.2%, 74.4 ± 8.6%, and 82.5 ± 6.2%, respectively) and high-risk group (59.0 ± 13.2%, 51.9 ± 12.4%, and 51.9 ± 12.4%, respectively) (all P values < 0.01).ConclusionThe CCCG-ALL-2015 program significantly improved the treatment outcomes for childhood T-ALL as compared with the CCCG-ALL-2008 protocol. Our new refined risk grouping system showed better stratification among pediatric T-ALL patients and better potential in evaluating therapeutic efficacy.

Abstract

With the increasing emphasis on sustainability, more and more environmentally friendly new materials and structures are developed, but they are difficult to be applied in engineering practice due to the lack of mature force resistance models. The design assisted by the testing method proposed by ISO2394:2015 and EN1990:2002 can solve this problem effectively. The aim of this paper was to analyze the characteristics of the method from a mathematical and statistical point of view based on the data and to suggest improvements. The resistance of each concrete member was derived by the design assisted by testing methods. The derivation results showed that the p values, the number of tests n , the coefficient of variation θ , and the coefficient of variation of resistance V R known or unknown have a large impact on the derived results. Also, the derivation by the Bayesian procedure or interval estimation methods might be negative. This indicates that the theory of the method is not rigorous and has some disadvantages.
