103. Association between maternal exposure to PM10 and risk of anorectal atresia/stenosis in offspring: a population-based case-control study in Liaoning Province, China.

Abstract

The potential association between maternal exposure to PM10 ranging from 3 months prior to conception to the end of the early trimester and the risk of anorectal atresia/stenosis in offspring has not been established. Thus, we determined the association between maternal exposure to PM10 and risk of anorectal atresia/stenosis in offspring in this study. We recruited 713 patients including 480 male and 233 female with anorectal atresia/stenosis and 7950 randomly selected healthy offspring from the Maternal and Child Health Certificate Registry of Liaoning Province and delivered between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2015. Monthly PM10 concentrations were retrieved from the Environment Protection Bureau of each city in Liaoning Province. We established a multivariable logistic regression model to calculate the adjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Maternal exposure to PM10 was associated with an increased risk for anorectal atresia/stenosis in offspring during the 3 months prior to conception (per 10 μg/m3 increment: OR = 1.15, 95% CI = 1.03–1.20; per SD [27 μg/m3] increment: OR = 1.33, 95% CI = 1.09–1.63) and the first trimester (per 10 μg/m3 increment: OR = 1.08, 95% CI = 1.00–1.17; per SD [28 μg/m3] increment: OR = 1.26, 95% CI = 1.01–1.57). Evaluation of the association with a shorter exposure window (1 month) revealed a positive association between anorectal atresia/stenosis and PM10 from the 3rd month prior to pregnancy to each month of the 1st trimester. Maternal exposure to PM10 3 months prior to conception and during the 1st trimester was associated with an increased risk of anorectal atresia/stenosis in the offspring. Abstract

Concerning on the shortcoming and complexity of Random early detection (RED) algorithm in network congestion control, a new RED algorithm based on the Hemi-Rise Cloud model (CRED) was proposed, nonlinear packet loss strategy was used, and sensitivity and uncertainty of parameters were improved. As a result, queue length could be kept stable in the neighborhood of reference value. Network congestion was well controlled and network resource was used effectively. The stability of the algorithm was studied and the experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm could improve the stability, and had better performance than the RED and Adaptive RED (ARED) algorithms.

Abstract

In order to improve sensitivity of parameter and network load, an improved random early detect ion (RED) mechanism orienting to stability, which is named extended stability of random early detection ( S-RED) , was proposed. This algorithm sectionally calculates the probability of packet loss by using the quadratic function to make its variability smoother, meanwhil ,and simplify the calculation formula ofprobability by decreasing the number of parameters in the calculation to properly weaken the performance influence due to parameter settings. We tested our proposed algorithm using the Network Simulator version 2 (ns-2) and found that it shows better stable performance than other typical RED variants and close throughput.

137. Effects of perioperative comprehensive nursing based on risk prevention for patients with intracranial aneurysm.

Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing based on risk prevention in perioperative nursing of intracranial aneurysm. Methods: A total of 156 patients who suffered from intracranial aneurysm were admitted in neurosurgery department from the hospital between January 2018 and January 2019. Patients were randomly divided into observation group (n = 78, patients were given comprehensive nursing based on risk prevention) and control group (n = 78, patients were given routine nursing). The following parameters, such as postoperative hospital stay, rescue success rate, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) after being awake, anxiety degree and nursing effect (incidence of complications, incidence of infection and patient satisfaction) were compared between the two groups. Results: The postoperative hospital stay, rescue success rate and GCS after intervention in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group (P <.05). The degree of anxiety in the observation group after intervention was superior to that in the control group (P <.05), similar results were obtained in terms of the nursing effect in the observation group compared with the control group (P <.05). Conclusion: Comprehensive nursing was associated with the shortness of hospitalisation time of patients, improved rescue rate, reduced occurrence of complications and infection, and improved satisfaction of patients. Thus, comprehensive nursing was regarded to exert protective effect with a promising future for clinical practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease defined as the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus that causes pelvic pain and infertility. We used the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2017 to comprehensively analyze the burden of endometriosis between 1990 and 2017. DisMod‐MR 2.1 was used to estimate the incidence and prevalence in some countries/territories with sparse or absent data. Annual percent changes were calculated to quantify endometriosis burden estimate trends. Furthermore, the sociodemographic index (SDI) was used to assess the relationship between endometriosis burden estimates and development level. Between 1990 and 2017, endometriosis age‐standardized incidence and prevalence and years of life lived with disability (YLDs) decreased globally by 0.21% (95% confidence interval (CI): −0.23% to −0.20%), 0.29% (95% CI: −0.31% to −0.28%), and 0.28% (95% CI: −0.30% to −0.27%) per year, respectively. Apart from the high SDI quintiles with increasing trends of endometriosis incidence rate, prevalence rate, and YLDs, decreasing trends were observed in all SDI quintiles for all burden estimates. In conclusion, it appears that all endometriosis burden estimates have decreased globally between 1990 and 2017. However, these results are based on limited data and highlight the need for increased data collection on the incidence and prevalence of endometriosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Aims/Introduction: The relationship between ferritin and the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has not been established. Thus, we carried out a meta‐analysis based on the current literature. Materials and Methods: We searched relevant databases on Embase, PubMed, Cochrane Library and Web of Science before 10 May 2019 to determine the relationship between ferritin and the risk of GDM. The relative risks and 95% confidence intervals of GDM risk were summarized using a random effects model. Studies using categories of ferritin as exposure were combined by dose–response analysis. We carried out both linear and non‐linear trends. We also carried out subgroup analysis, whether or not the studies adjusted for potential confounders, and meta‐regression analysis to explore the source of heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis was carried out to explore the robustness of the meta‐analysis results. Results: A total of 10 studies involving 4,690 participants were identified. The summary relative risk comparing persons with the highest concentration categories of ferritin with the lowest concentration categories of ferritin was 1.87 (95% confidence interval 1.50–2.34; I2 = 20.1%). Linear dose–response showed that an increase in ferritin of 10 μg/L increased the risk of GDM by 8% (1.08, 95% confidence interval 1.05–1.13, I2 = 55.1%; n = 4). A non‐linear dose–response relationship also showed a consistently increasing risk of GDM with increased ferritin. No evidence of publication bias was detected. Conclusions: The findings from this meta‐analysis suggest that increased ferritin levels are associated with an increased risk of GDM; however, we require further prospective cohort studies to confirm the results, especially the dose–response relationship between ferritin and GDM. Abstract

The mine logistics transportation system with belt and surge links is often formed by a complex hybrid dynamic system that consists of continuous and discrete links, and these parts can have the complex changes along with the mining engineering going on. Studying the hybrid system with belt and surge links to fully realize its beneficial functions is very significant. Until now, there have been many references studying the logistics transportation hybrid system with belt and surge links, and many concepts about it have been set up. However, in these references, complicated real-time dynamic changes of the hybrid system usually is studied. This paper presents a novel approach to study real-time dynamic optimization analysis and simulation problems of complex mine logistics transportation hybrid system, which can be used to make optimization design for this kind of complex hybrid system. The proposed method considered expressly complicated real-time dynamic changing of the hybrid system comparing with some existing references and can solve some optimization design problems of the hybrid system. In addition, this paper used statistical data of a real logistics transportation system with belt and surge bin on simulation and gets some useful conclusions. The application result shows that the presented method is valid.

Abstract

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an essential role in the onset and development of many cardiovascular diseases. Increasing evidence shows that miRNAs can be used as potential diagnostic biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases, and miRNA-based therapy may be a promising therapy for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The microRNA-143/-145 (miR-143/-145) cluster is essential for differentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and determines VSMC phenotypic switching. In this review, we summarize the recent progress in knowledge concerning the function of miR-143/-145 in the cardiovascular system and their role in cardiovascular diseases. We discuss the potential role of miR-143/-145 as valuable biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases and explore the potential strategy of targeting miR-143 and miR-145.

BackgroundCurrent literature describes limited and controversial evidence on the associations between maternal preconception and first trimester exposure to particulate matter with a diameter ≤10 µm (PM10) and the risk of oral cleft (OC).MethodsWe conducted a case–control study involving 3086 OC cases and 7950 controls, registered in the Maternal and Child Health Certificate Registry in Liaoning Province between 2010 and 2015. PM10concentrations were obtained from the Environment Protection Bureau. The exposure windows included the 3 months before pregnancy, the first trimester and the individual months. Unconditional logistic regression model was performed to estimate the OR and 95% CI for the association between PM10exposure and the risk of OC, cleft lip only (CLO), cleft palate only (CPO), and cleft lip and palate (CLP).ResultsMaternal PM10exposure was positively associated with an increased risk for OC during the 3 months preconception (per 10 µg/m3increment: OR=1.04, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.07; highest vs lowest quartile: OR=1.23, 95% CI 1.04 to 1.45) and the first trimester (per 10 µg/m3increment: OR=1.05, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.08; highest vs lowest quartile: OR=1.37, 95% CI 1.15 to 1.64). Analyses based on individual months presented similar positive associations, particularly in the second month of pregnancy (OR=1.77, 95% CI 1.51 to 2.09) for highest versus lowest quartile. In the subtype analysis, stronger associations were observed for CLO, whereas there was negligible evidence for CPO and CLP. Sensitivity analyses using propensity score matching generated similar findings.ConclusionsOur study provides evidence that PM10exposure during the 3 months preconception and the first trimester increases the risk of OC.

Abstract

Zooming is a ubiquitous feature of camera in audiovisual capture system. However, a camera zooming effect is often not complemented with an acoustic zooming (AZ) to match the scene motions. In this paper, we summarize sound source perception mechanisms in psychoacoustic, and propose a general theory of sound field manipulation and reproduction to attain an acoustic zooming effect. A system of automatically controlled acoustic zooming has been designed, which based on camera real-time metadata information embedded in digital video broadcast system. Experimental results using a microphone array recorder and a professional camcorder confirm that the proposed approach and designed system is suited for television program production application.
