Abstract: Six 3,3″-biflavanones, including a new compound isochamaejasmenin C (1), were isolated from EtOH extracts of the roots of Stellera chamaejasme L. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods, including HR-ESI-MS and 2D NMR techniques. The absolute configurations on 2, 3, 3″, and 2″ of compounds 1, 3, and 6, which represent three geometry types of these compounds, were determined by TDDFT quantum chemical calculations of their ECD spectra. All compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicities against eight human solid tumor cell lines and compounds 2, 4, and 6 showed strong anti-proliferative effects against all these cell lines with IC50 values ranging from 1.08 to 15.97μM, which were in the same range as the positive control paclitaxel. In June 2011-June 2012, a fertilization experiment was conducted in a typical Castanea mollissima stand in Lin'an of Zhejiang Province, East China to study the effects of inorganic and organic fertilization on the soil CO2 flux and the relationships between the soil CO2 flux and environmental factors. Four treatments were installed, i. e. , no fertilization (CK), inorganic fertilization (IF), organic fertilization (OF), half organic plus half inorganic fertilization (OIF). The soil CO2 emission rate was determined by the method of static closed chamber/ GC technique, and the soil temperature, soil moisture content, and soil water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC) concentration were determined by routine methods. The soil CO2 emission exhibited a strong seasonal pattern, with the highest rate in July or August and the lowest rate in February. The annual accumulative soil CO2 emission in CK was 27. 7 t CO2 ·hm-2 ·a-1, and that in treatments IF, OF, and OIF was 29. 5%, 47. 0%, and 50. 7% higher than the CK, respectively. The soil WSOC concentration in treatment IF (105. 1 mg kg-1) was significantly higher than that in CK (76. 6 mg·kg-1), but was obviously lower than that in treatments OF (133. 0 mg·kg-1 ) and OIF (121. 2 mg·kg-1 ). The temperature sensitivity of respiration (Q10) in treatments CK, IF, OF, and OIF was 1. 47, 1. 75, 1. 49, and 1. 57, respectively. The soil CO2 emission rate had significant positive correlations with the soil temperature at the depth of 5 cm and the soil WSOC concentration, but no significant correlation with soil moisture content. The increase of the soil WSOC concentration caused by fertilization was probably one of the reasons for the increase of soil CO2 emission from the C. mollissima stand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Five new meroterpenoids, zizhines P-S and U (1−4,7), together with two known meroterpenoids (5 and 6) were isolated from Ganoderma sinensis. Their structures including absolute configurations were assigned by using spectroscopic, computational, and chemical methods. Racemics zizhines P and Q were purified by HPLC on chiral phase. Biological evaluation found that 4, 5 and 6 are cytotoxic toward human cancer cells (A549, BGC-823, Kyse30) with IC50 values in the range of 63.43–80.83 μM towards A549, 59.2 ± 2.73 μM and 64.25 ± 0.37 μM towards BGC-823, 76.28 ± 1.93 μM and 85.42 ± 2.82 μM towards Kyse30. As an innovative technology in biological applications—non-thermal plasma technique—has recently been applied to living cells and tissues. However, it is unclear whether non-thermal plasma treatment can directly regulate the growth and development of livestock. In this study, we exposed four-day-incubated fertilized eggs to plasma at 11.7 kV for 2 min, which was found to be the optimal condition in respect of highest growth rate in chickens. Interestingly, plasma-treated male chickens conspicuously grew faster than females. Plasma treatment regulated the reactive oxygen species homeostasis by controlling the mitochondrial respiratory complex activity and up-regulating the antioxidant defense system. At the same time, growth metabolism was improved due to the increase of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 and their receptors expression, and the rise of thyroid hormones and adenosine triphosphate levels through the regulation of demethylation levels of growth and hormone biosynthesis-related genes in the skeletal muscles and thyroid glands. To our knowledge, this study was the first to evaluate the effects of a non-thermal plasma treatment on the growth rate of chickens. This safe strategy might be beneficial to the livestock industry. Thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection (TAAD) is a life-threatening disease and currently there is no pharmacological therapy. Sympathetic nerve overactivity plays an important role in the development of TAAD. Sympathetic innervation is mainly controlled by nerve growth factor (NGF, a key neural chemoattractant) and semaphoring 3A (Sema3A, a key neural chemorepellent), while the roles of these two factors in aortic sympathetic innervation and especially TAAD are unknown. We hypothesized that genetically manipulating the NGF/Sema3A ratio by the Ngf -driven Sema3a expression approach may reduce aortic sympathetic nerve innervation and mitigate TAAD progression. A mouse strain of Ngf gene-driven Sema3a expression (namely NgfSema3a/Sema3a mouse) was established by inserting the 2A-Sema3A expression frame to the Ngf terminating codon using CRISPR/Cas9 technology. TAAD was induced by β-aminopropionitrile monofumarate (BAPN) both in NgfSema3a/Sema3a mice and wild type (WT) littermates. Contrary to our expectation, the BAPN-induced TAAD was severer in NgfSema3a/Sema3a mice than in wild-type (WT) mice. In addition, NgfSema3a/Sema3a mice showed higher aortic sympathetic innervation, inflammation and extracellular matrix degradation than the WT mice after BAPN treatment. The aortic vascular smooth muscle cells isolated from NgfSema3a/Sema3a mice and pretreated with BAPN in vivo for two weeks showed stronger capabilities of proliferation and migration than that from the WT mice. We conclude that the strategy of Ngf -driven Sema3a expression cannot suppress but worsens the BAPN-induced TAAD. Ganoderma meroterpenoids (GMs) containing 688 structures to date were discovered to have multiple remarkable biological activities. 65.6% of meroterpenoids featuring stereogenic centers from Ganoderma species are racemates. Further, GMs from different Ganoderma species seem to have their own characteristics. In this review, a comprehensive summarization of GMs since 2000 is presented, including GM structures, structure corrections, biological activities, physicochemical properties, total synthesis, and proposed biosynthetic pathways. Additionally, we especially discuss the racemic nature, species-related structural distribution, and structure-activity relationship of GMs, which will provide a likely in-house database and shed light on future studies on GMs., (© 2024 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

During liver fibrogenesis, the reciprocal crosstalk among capillarized liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), and dysfunctional hepatocytes constructs a self-amplifying vicious cycle, greatly exacerbating the disease condition and weakening therapeutic effect. Limited by the malignant cellular interactions, the previous single-cell centric treatment approaches show unsatisfactory efficacy and fail to meet clinical demand. Herein, a vicious cycle-breaking strategy is proposed to target and repair pathological cells separately to terminate the malignant progression of liver fibrosis. Chondroitin sulfate-modified and vismodegib-loaded nanoparticles (CS-NPs/VDG) are designed to efficiently normalize the fenestrae phenotype of LSECs and restore HSCs to quiescent state by inhibiting Hedgehog signaling pathway. In addition, glycyrrhetinic acid-modified and silybin-loaded nanoparticles (GA-NPs/SIB) are prepared to restore hepatocytes function by relieving oxidative stress. The results show successful interruption of vicious cycle as well as distinct fibrosis resolution in two animal models through multiregulation of the pathological cells. Lead (Pb) acts as an environmental endocrine disruptor and has negative effects in animals; excessive accumulation of lead causes reproductive dysfunction in male animals. Oxidative stress plays a vital role in Pb-induced injury. However, the mechanisms underlying chronic testicular toxicity of Pb remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to determine the effects of lead acetate on reproductive function in male mice, identify the underlying mechanisms, and test counter measures to alleviate the toxic effects. Male mice were dosed with lead acetate (500 mg/L) in free drinking water for 12 weeks, and administered melatonin (5 mg/kg) or vitamin C (500 mg/kg) by intraperitoneal injection. Blood from the eyeball, testicles, and sperm from the caudal epididymis were collected after 12 weeks and analyzed. Pb exposure reduced sperm count and motility, increased sperm malformation (P < 0.01), disrupted testicular morphology and structure, and decreased the expression of steroid hormone synthesis-related enzymes and serum testosterone concentration (P < 0.01). Pb also increased the number of inflammatory cells and the levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 (P < 0.01), and activated NF-κB signaling. Furthermore, the ROS yield and oxidation indicators LPO and MDA were significantly increased (P < 0.01), and the antioxidant indicators T-AOC, SOD, and GSH were significantly reduced (P < 0.01). Treatment with melatonin or vitamin C reversed the effects of lead acetate; vitamin C was more effective in restoring SOD activity (P < 0.01) and enhancing ZO-1 protein levels (P < 0.01). Thus, long-term exposure to lead acetate at low concentrations could adversely affect sperm quality and induce inflammatory damage by oxidative stress mediated NF-κB signaling. Ganoderpetchoids A-E and (-)-dayaolingzhiol H, six undescribed meroterpenoids, were isolated from Ganoderma petchii. Their structures including the relative configurations were identified by means of spectroscopic methods and 13 C NMR calculations. Chiral separation of the new racemics was performed to afford their respective enantiomers. The absolute configurations of the new isolates were clarified by computational approaches, CD comparisons and X-ray diffraction analysis. Ganoderma mushrooms are a renowned Chinese medicine and functional food used worldwide. Seven undescribed spiro Ganoderma meroterpenoids spiroganodermaines A-G were isolated from Ganoderma species. Their structures were characterized by using spectroscopic, computational and X-ray diffraction methods. Biological studies showed that (+)-spiroganodermaine G significantly activates glucose uptake and IRS1 phosphorylation in insulin resistance C2C12 cells. Furthermore, (-)-spiroganodermaine G inhibits the expressions of fibronectin and α-SMA in TGF-β1 induced NRK-52E cells. Background: T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) defines a group of hematological malignancies with heterogeneous aggressiveness and highly variable outcome, making therapeutic decisions a challenging task. We tried to discover new predictive model for T-ALL before treatment by using a specific pipeline designed to discover aberrantly active gene., Results: The expression of 18 genes was significantly associated with shorter survival, including ACTRT2, GOT1L1, SPATA45, TOPAZ1 and ZPBP (5-GEC), which were used as a basis to design a prognostic classifier for T-ALL patients. The molecular characterization of the 5-GEC positive T-ALL unveiled specific characteristics inherent to the most aggressive T leukemic cells, including a drastic shut-down of genes located on the mitochondrial genome and an upregulation of histone genes, the latter characterizing high risk forms in adult patients. These cases fail to respond to the induction treatment, since 5-GEC either predicted positive minimal residual disease (MRD) or a short-term relapse in MRD negative patients., Conclusion: Overall, our investigations led to the discovery of a homogenous group of leukemic cells with profound alterations of their biology. Background: Early biomarkers allowing effective treatment stratification in adult T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) patients remain elusive., Materials and Methods: The mutation spectrum of 116T-ALL adult patients enrolled in the Shanghai Institute of Hematology (SIH)-based hospital network or Multicenter Hematology-Oncology Protocols Evaluation System (M-HOPES) in China were studied by using RNA-sequencing or targeted next generation sequencing. A comprehensive survival analysis based on clinical characteristics, immunophenotype and oncogenetic classifier was performed., Results: Early T-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ETP-ALL) has higher mutation rates of N/K-RAS and lower mutation rates of FBXW7 compared to non-ETP ALL, but the survival probability of ETP-ALL patients is similar to that of non-ETP ALL patients. T-ALLs with a NOTCH1/FBXW7 (N/F) mutation in the absence of RAS or PTEN abnormalities (NFRP class I) show a more favorable outcome compared to T-ALLs with no N/F mutation and/or with the presence of RAS/PTEN alterations (NFRP class II). A survival analysis of T-ALL, taking into account both the ETP-ALL/non-ETP T-ALL groups and the NFRP oncogenetic classifier, demonstrates that, within the non-ETP T-ALL subtype, NFRP class II identifies a group with poor prognosis and significant decreases of both OS (14.8% versus 50.9%, P = 0.019) and EFS (11.4% versus 42.4%, P = 0.001). In contrast, no survival difference is observed within ETP-ALL between the NFRP class I or class II (OS: 37.9% versus 33%, P = 0.876; EFS: 39.8% versus 33.7%, P = 0.969)., Conclusion: In summary, the oncogenetic classifier based on the NFRP classes is particularly useful to improve the stratification of non-ETP ALL., (Copyright © 2022 Elsevier GmbH. Objective: To investigate the mechanism of electroacupuncture (EA) in improving the long-term survival rate of mice after myocardial infarction by promoting angiogenesis and inhibiting ventricular remodeling., Methods: A total of 102 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into sham operation, model and EA groups ( n =34 /group). The myocardial infarction model was established by permanent ligation of the anterior descending branch of the left coronary artery. Beginning from the 3rd day after ligation, EA (2 Hz/20 Hz) was applied to bilateral "Neiguan" (PC6) and "Ximen" (PC4) for 30 min, once a day for 28 days. The survival rate in 140 d was recorded and the left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) calculated by using echocardiography after the treatment. The left cardiac ventricular tissue was cut into sections to be stained with Masson's trichrome, wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) or α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) immunohistochemistry method, followed by measuring the collagen area in the marginal region of myocardial infarction and calculating the collagen volume fraction (for assessing the severity of myocardial fibrosis), measuring the sectional area of cardiomyocytes (for assessing the degree of myocardial hypertrophy), and ob-serving the newborn blood vessels and calculating the ratio of neovascularization area (for assessing the state of angiogenesis). The expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1α protein in the boundary area of myocardial infarction were detected by Western blot., Results: After modeling, the survival rate, EF, and the thickness of the left cardiac ventricle were significantly decreased ( P <0.01), whereas the percentage of collagen deposition area, sectional area of cardiomyocyte, percentage of angiogenesis area, and the expression levels of VEGF and HIF-1α proteins were significantly increased ( P <0.01) in the model group relevant to the sham operation group. Compared with the model group, the survival rate, EF, the thickness of the left cardiac ventricle, the percentage of angiogenesis area, and the expression levels of VEGF and HIF-1α proteins were significantly increased ( P <0.05, P <0.01), while the percentage of collagen deposition area and the sectional area of the cardiomyocyte were considerably decreased in the EA group ( P <0.01, P <0.05)., Conclusion: EA of PC6 and PC4 can significantly improve the cardiac function and long-term survival rate in mice with myocardial infarction, which may be related to its functions in up-regulating the expression of HIF-1α and VEGF to promote angiogenesis and in inhibiting ventricular remodeling.

Metformin is a commonly used for treating type 2 diabetes and it acts on a variety of organs including the male reproductive system. 17β-estradiol plays an important role in Sertoli cell (SC) proliferation which determines the germ cell development and spermatogenesis. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of metformin on immature chicken SC proliferation and the potential mechanisms by which 17β-estradiol regulate this process. Results showed that metformin significantly inhibited SC proliferation, whereas 17β-estradiol weakened the inhibitory effects of metformin on SC viability, cell growth, and cell cycle progression. SC proliferation-inhibiting effect of metformin exposure was regulated by decreasing adenosine triphosphate level and respiratory enzyme activity in the mitochondria; this process was possibly mediated by the adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK)/tuberous sclerosis complex 2 (TSC2)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway, which was regulated by the down-expressed miR-1764 and by the decreased antioxidant enzyme activity and excessive reactive oxygen species generation. In addition, SCs transfected with the miR-1764 agomir led to an improvement of proliferation capacity through down-regulating AMPKα2 level, which further decreased TSC2 expression and induced mTOR activation. However, the anti-proliferative effect of miR-1764 antagomir can be alleviated by 17β-estradiol treatment via the up-expression of miR-1764 in transfected SCs. Our findings suggest appropriate dose of exogenous 17β-estradiol treatment can ameliorate the inhibitory effect of metformin on SC proliferation via the regulation of AMPK/TSC2/mTOR signaling pathway, this might reduce the risk of poor male fertility caused by the abuse of anti-diabetic agents., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Inc. Global histone acetylation varies with changes in the nutrient and cell cycle phases; however, the mechanisms connecting these variations are not fully understood. Herein, we report that nutrient-related and cell-cycle-regulated nuclear acetate regulates global histone acetylation. Histone deacetylation-generated acetate accumulates in the nucleus and induces histone hyperacetylation. The nuclear acetate levels were controlled by glycolytic enzyme triosephosphate isomerase 1 (TPI1). Cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2), which is phosphorylated and activated by nutrient-activated mTORC1, phosphorylates TPI1 Ser 117 and promotes nuclear translocation of TPI1, decreases nuclear dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and induces nuclear acetate accumulation because DHAP scavenges acetate via the formation of 1-acetyl-DHAP. CDK2 accumulates in the cytosol during the late G1/S phases. Inactivation or blockade of nuclear translocation of TPI1 abrogates nutrient-dependent and cell-cycle-dependent global histone acetylation, chromatin condensation, gene transcription and DNA replication. These results identify the mechanism of maintaining global histone acetylation by nutrient and cell cycle signals.

Seven new meroterpenoids, lucidumones B-H (1 and 3-8), along with one known meroterpenoid (2), were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma lucidum. The structures of the new compounds were assigned by spectroscopic and computational methods. All the isolated compounds were tested for their inhibition on human cancer cell migration. It was found that compounds (-)-1, (+)-2, (-)-4, (+)-6, and (+)-8 could significantly inhibit cell migration in KYSE30 cell line. Objective: To study the anti-hypertrophic scar effect of the six-herb Chinese medicine composition (SCMC) ointment on the rabbit ear hypertrophic scar models., Methods: The optimal formulation of SCMC ointment matrix was screened by the orthogonal designs and a series of evaluation tests. The SCMC ointment was prepared through emulsifying method. The rabbit ear hypertrophic scar models were established and used to investigate the anti-hypertrophic scar effect of SCMC ointment., Results: Our results demonstrated that all the quality control indications of the SCMC ointment met the requirements. A nti-hypertrophic scar activity results showed that all the rabbit ear scar tissues appeared different degrees of shrink and fading, and took an unobvious but palpable shift from hard to soft texture with the low, middle and high concentration SCMC ointments treatments in vivo . Additionally, on 21st day the scar area and thickness in different concentrations of SCMC ointment groups were significantly reduced than control group, in a concentration-dependent manner. The immunohistochemical results also indicated that the SCMC ointment had good anti-hypertrophic scar properties and could inhibit hypertrophic scar formation., Conclusion: The SCMC ointment could improve the blood circulation condition of hypertrophic scar tissues. Our research has demonstrated the Chinese medicine composition ointment with good anti-hypertrophic scar properties that could be used to treat hypertrophic scars. Previously, we demonstrated that Prx II is important for survival of the gefitinib-resistant A549 (A549/GR) cell line, an NSCLC cell line derived by repeated exposure to gefitinib. Therefore, in this study, we used A549/GR cells to investigate the role of Prx II in GR NSCLC stemness. Initially, to explore the stemness characteristics and investigate the association of Prx II with those stemness characteristics, we successfully isolated a stem cell-like population from A549/GR cells. A549/GR CD133 + cells possessed important cancer stemness characteristics, including the abilities to undergo metastasis, angiogenesis, self-renewal, and to express stemness genes and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers. However, those characteristics were abolished by knocking down Prx II expression. MicroRNA 122 (miR-122) targets Prx II in A549/GR cancer stem cells (CSCs), thereby inhibiting the stemness characteristics in vitro and in vivo. Next, we investigate whether miR-122 overexpression was associated with Prx II expression and Prx-II-induced stemness characteristics, we transfected miR-122 into A549/GR CSCs. MiR-122 inhibited A549/GR stemness by downregulating the Hedgehog, Notch, and Wnt/β-catenin pathways. Taken together, our data suggest that Prx II promotes A549/GR stemness, and that targeting Prx II and miR-122 is a potentially viable strategy for anti-cancer-stem cell therapy in GR NSCLCs.

Six new meroterpenoids, australeols A-F (1-6), together with nineteen known compounds (7-25), were isolated from the fruiting bodies of Ganoderma australe. BRM270 is the most leading phytochemical extract that possesses potent anticancer properties. A major challenge associated with this drug is its low bioavailability and thus requires high dosages for cancer treatment. Here, we report the novel nano-synthesis of phyto-composite, BRM270 for the first time by mechanical milling method with specific modifications for enhanced cytotoxicity against HepG2 human hepatoma cancer cells. Unlike free BRM270 and other phytomedicines, BRM270 nanoparticles (BRM270 NPs) are well-dispersed and small sized (23 to 70 nm) which is believed to greatly enhanced cellular uptake. Furthermore, the acidic tumor microenvironment attracts BRM270 NPs enhancing targeted therapy while leaving normal cells less affected. The comparative cytotoxicity analysis using MTT assay among the three treatment groups, such as free BRM270, BRM270 NPs, and doxorubicin demonstrated that BRM270 NPs induced greater cytotoxicity against HepG2 cells with an effective drug concentration of 12 μg/ml. From FACS analysis, we observed an apoptotic cell death of 44.4% at BRM270 NPs treated cells while only 12.5% found in the free BRM270 treated cells. Further, the comparative relative expression profiling of the candidate genes were showed significant (p < 0.05) down-regulation of IL6, BCL2, p53, and MMP9 in the BRM270 NPs treated cells, compared to the free BRM270 and doxorubicin. Indeed, the genes, CASPASE 9 and BAX have shown significant (p < 0.05) upregulation in cells treated with BRM270 NPs as compared to counter treatment groups. The investigation of the signal pathways and protein-protein network associations were also carried out to elucidate the functional insights underlying anti-cancer potential of BRM270 NPs in HepG2 cells. Wogonin is a plant flavonoid compound extracted from Scutellaria baicalensis (Huang-Qin or Chinese skullcap) and has been studied thoroughly by many researchers till date for its anti-viral, anti-oxidant, anti-cancerous and neuro-protective properties. Numerous experiments conducted in vitro and in vivo have demonstrated wogonin's excellent tumor inhibitory properties. The anti-cancer mechanism of wogonin has been ascribed to modulation of various cell signaling pathways, including serine-threonine kinase Akt (also known as protein kinase B) and AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathways, p53-dependent/independent apoptosis, and inhibition of telomerase activity. Furthermore, wogonin also decreases DNA adduct formation with a carcinogenic compound 2-Aminofluorene and inhibits growth of drug resistant malignant cells and their migration and metastasis, without any side effects. Recently, newly synthesized wogonin derivatives have been developed with impressive anti-tumor activity. This review is the succinct appraisal of the pertinent articles on the mechanisms of anti-tumor properties of wogonin. We also summarize the potential of wogonin and its derivatives used alone or as an adjunct therapy for cancer treatment. Objective: To investigate the effects of different acupoint combination on prevention and treatment of stress gastric ulcer and to search for a better acupoint combination., Methods: The theoretical basis and experimental research on treatment of stomach diseases with the combination of he-(sea) points and front-mu points as well as back-shu points and front-mu points are analyzed in this article., Results: The combination of he-sea points and front-mu points is suitable to be applied on acute diseases, febrile diseases and diseases of fu organs. While the combination of back-shu points and front-mu points is more applicable on chronic gastric diseases., Conclusion: It is proved that the combination of he-sea point (Zusanli ST 36) and front-mu point (Zhongwan CV 12) has reliable effect on prevention and treatment of stress gastric ulcer.

In June 2011-June 2012, a fertilization experiment was conducted in a typical Castanea mollissima stand in Lin' an of Zhejiang Province, East China to study the effects of inorganic and organic fertilization on the soil CO2 flux and the relationships between the soil CO2 flux and environmental factors. Four treatments were installed, i. e., no fertilization (CK), inorganic fertilization (IF), organic fertilization (OF), half organic plus half inorganic fertilization (OIF). The soil CO2 emission rate was determined by the method of static closed chamber/GC technique, and the soil temperature, soil moisture content, and soil water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC) concentration were determined by routine methods. The soil CO2 emission exhibited a strong seasonal pattern, with the highest rate in July or August and the lowest rate in February. The annual accumulative soil CO2 emission in CK was 27.7 t CO2 x hm(-2) x a(-1), and that in treatments IF, OF, and OIF was 29.5%, 47.0%, and 50.7% higher than the CK, respectively. The soil WSOC concentration in treatment IF (105.1 mg kg(-1)) was significantly higher than that in CK (76.6 mg x kg(-1)), but was obviously lower than that in treatments OF (133.0 mg x kg(-1)) and OIF (121.2 mg x kg(-1)). The temperature sensitivity of respiration (Q10) in treatments CK, IF, OF, and OIF was 1.47, 1.75, 1.49, and 1.57, respectively. The soil CO2 emission rate had significant positive correlations with the soil temperature at the depth of 5 cm and the soil WSOC concentration, but no significant correlation with soil moisture content. The increase of the soil WSOC concentration caused by fertilization was probably one of the reasons for the increase of soil CO2 emission from the C. mollissima stand.
