The article focuses on the relationships between representation of women and rising attention to the social in contemporary politics in Japan. It is mentioned that social issues have become more and more discussed in the political sphere since the 1990s as concerns about an aging population and the rapidly declining birthrate grew.

103. Facile Synthesis of Thermally Stable Benzimidazolate-type Ionic Liquids.

Abstract

Novel azolate-type ionic liquids (ILs), alkyltributylphosphonium benzimidazolates (alkyl chain: methyl, butyl, and octyl), were prepared by neutralization of the corresponding alkyltributylphosphonium hydroxides with benzimidazole. All the azolate-type ILs prepared here showed high ionic conductivities above 10-3 Scm-1 at 80 °C, and good thermal stability over 300 °C. They are expected to be useful platforms for functional ILs having good thermal stabilities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
