In order to promoting products development period and improving production quality, all enterprises have found the digital factory is a good comprehensive solution approach. However, for complex products, there is still lack of open integration possibilities among products and production manufacturing process modeling, simulation, analyzing, visualizing and optimizing systems tools on a multi criteria level. This paper investigates a systematic approach NPU-EDASP (Enterprise-level Digital factory and its production system Simulation Platform developed by Northwestern Polytechnical University) which adopted service-oriented development methodology and top-down design mode to design the entire architecture. In particular, it utilizes four key technologies and methods to bridge the gape exits among products and production manufacturing process modeling, simulation and analyzing. Using this platform, users can optimize material flow, resource utilization and logistics in large enterprise for the complex products and production engineering processes. A case study of a successful model demonstrates that the NPU-EDASP digital factory offers an integrated approach to enhance products and production engineering.

We obtained the bone scaffolds general constitutive and seepage governing equations based on conservation of energy and Darcy’s laws under fluid-solid-thermo multi-physics fields. Furthermore, we have also established the full coupling mathematical models of bone scaffolds under fluid-solid-thermo multi-physics fields. Based on these formulae in the COMSOL finite element platform, we have analyzed the stress, strain, fluid seepage velocity and the density under different external boundary and initial conditions. Through analyzing these computing results and comparing with the real experiments data of references, we think this methodology is feasible to guild bone scaffolds and porous medium design under the fluid-solid-thermo full coupling multi-physics fields. Lastly, we can find some rules of interstitial nutrition flow and scaffolds solid material movement and biodegradation in fluid-solid-thermo full coupling multiphysics.

This paper proposes a systematic approach to integrate domaindependent design tools in artificial bone scaffolds process. integrated solution of CAD modelling and properly analysis of biomedicine knowledge are utilized to design complicated bone scaffolds. FEA and CFD are comprehensively analyzed for the mechanical and internal micro circulation properties. A case study of a successful artificial bone scaffolds model demonstrates that the cooperative design methodology can facilitate the design in the multiphysics domain substantially.

The requirement for high-quality product with reduced cost and time-to-market in multidisciplinary project is demanding. Integration of design and process planning with computer aided techniques can provide a solution to this challenge. This paper describes a reference model of integrating computer aided techniques to aid the concurrent development of a multi-nozzle 3D printer for fabricating artificial bone scaffold at the University of Strathclyde and the Northwestern Polytechnical University. This integration reference model, including design tools such as Material Computation (MC), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and CAD, and planning tool such as CAM techniques, is employed to support this special 3D printer development. The high precision multi-nozzle development was used as a case study to validate this integration of concurrent design and process planning. CAD tools were used to provide several nozzle design concepts and a rigorous CFD analysis of several nozzle designs under the same boundary conditions were undertaken to refine and evaluate them by research staff from both institutions. This cooperative conceptual design case study demonstrated that it drastically reduced development time and cost in devising nozzle conceptual sketch design and optimizing the nozzle design for 3D printer. This makes it an important step in designing a high precision artificial bone rapid manufacturing machine.
