Çalışmada Kant ve Nietzsche ahlakları ortak kökenleri bakımından incelenmiş olup bu filozofların beslendikleri kaynaklar bakımından ayrı durmadığı, benzerlikler gösterdiği sonucuna varılmıştır. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of posterior tibial slope after fracture healing on antero-posterior knee laxity, functional outcome and patient satisfaction. MATERIAL AND METHODS 126 patients who were treated for tibial plateau fractures between 2008-2013 in the orthopedics and traumatology department of our institution were evaluated for the study. Patients were treated with open reduction and internal fixation, arthroscopy assisted minimally invasive osteosynthesis or conservative treatment. RESULTS Mean posterior tibial slope after the treatment was 6.91 ? 5.11 and there was no significant difference when compared to the uninvolved side 6.42 ? 4,21 (p = 0.794). Knee laxity in anterior-posterior plane was 6.14 ? 2.11 and 5.95 ? 2.25 respectively on healthy and injured side. The difference of mean laxity in anterior-posterior plane between two sides was statistically significant. DISCUSSION In this study we found no difference in laxity between the injured and healthy knees. However Tegner score decreased significantly in patients who had greater laxity difference between the knees. We did not find significant difference between fracture type and laxity, IKDC functional scores independent of the ligamentous injury. CONCLUSION In conclusion despite coronal alignment is taken into consideration in treatment of tibial plateau fractures, sagittal alignment is reasonably important for stability and should not be ignored. © 2016, Galen s.r.o. Objective: The aim of this cadaveric study was to investigate the efŞcacy of the modiŞed Stoppa approachin Ganz periacetabular osteotomy (PAO).Methods: The Ganz PAO was performed on 10 hemipelvises with normal hips, from 5 cadavers using themodiŞed Stoppa approach through the Pfannenstiel incision. All of the osteotomies were performedunderfluoroscopic control and direct visualizing the osteotomy site from the same incision. After theosteotomy, the acetabulum was medialized and redirected anterolaterally, andŞxed with 2 screws. Theneurovascular structures and the joints were examined by dissecting the soft tissues afterŞxation of theosteotomies. Outcome parameters were center-edge (CE) angle, the distances between the osteotomyand anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS), and between the osteotomy and the sciatic notch, neurovascularand joint penetrations.Results: After the osteotomy, the mean CE angle was improved from 19.8to 25.2, mean distance between the osteotomy and ASIS was 3.1 cm, and the mean distance between the osteotomy and the sciaticnotch was 10.2 mm. The neurovascular structures and the joints were examined by dissecting the softtissues afterŞxation of the osteotomies. No damage to the joint, surrounding arteries, veins or nerveswas detected in any of the cadavers.Conclusions: Bilateral dysplastic hips can be treated with a 10 cm, cosmetically more acceptable incisionin the same session using this approach. Quadrilateral surface of the acetabulum can be directly seenusing this approach and the osteotomy can be safely performed.© 2016 Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as well as sugar and acid contents affect carrot flavour. This study compared VOCs in 11 carrot cultivars. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry using static headspace technique was applied to analyse the VOCs. The number of VOCs per sample ranged from 17 to 31. The primarily VOCs identified in raw carrots with the exception of “Yellow Stone” were terpenes, ranging from 65 to 95%. The monoterpenes with values ranging from 31 to 89% were higher than those (from 2 to 15%) of sesquiterpenes. Monoterpene α-terpinolene (with ranging from 23 to 63%) and (-)-α-pinene (26%), and alcohol ethanol (35%) was the main VOC in extracts from the nine carrot cultivars, “Purple” and “Yellow Stone”, respectively. As a result, among 16 identified monoterpenes, 7 monoterpenes (-)-α-pinene, (-)-β-pinene, β-myrcene, d-limonene, γ-terpinene, α-terpinolene and p-cymene constituted more than 60% of total VOCs identified in carrots including “Atomic Red”, “Nantes”, “Cosmic Purple”, “Red Samurai”, “Eregli Black”, “White Satin”, “Parmex” and “Baby Carrot”. Thus, these cultivars may advise to carrot breeders due to the beneficial effects of terpenes, especially monoterpenes on health.

Vascular involvement is one of the major causes of mortality and morbidity in Behçet disease (BD). There are no controlled studies for the management of vascular BD (VBD), and according to the EULAR recommendations, only immunosuppressive (IS) agents are recommended. In this study, we aimed to investigate the therapeutic approaches chosen by Turkish physicians during the initial event and relapses of VBD and the association of different treatment options with the relapses retrospectively. Patients with BD (n = 936, female/male: 347/589, mean age: 37.6 ± 10.8) classified according to ISG criteria from 15 rheumatology centers in Turkey were included. The demographic data, clinical characteristics of the first vascular event and relapses, treatment protocols, and data about complications were acquired. VBD was observed in 27.7% (n = 260) of the patients during follow-up. In 57.3% of the VBD patients, vascular involvement was the presenting sign of the disease. After the first vascular event, ISs were given to 88.8% and AC treatment to 59.8% of the patients. Median duration of AC treatment was 13 months (1–204) and ISs, 22 months (1–204). Minor hemorrhage related to AC treatment was observed in 7 (4.7%) patients. A second vascular event developed in 32.9% (n = 86) of the patients. The vascular relapse rate was similar between patients taking only ISs and AC plus IS treatments after the first vascular event (29.1% vs 22.4%, P = 0.28) and was significantly higher in group taking only ACs than taking only ISs (91.6% vs 29.1%, P

Shock is a pathologic state with high mortality rate and characterized by a reduction of systemic tissue perfusion and decresead oxygen delivery. Absolute or relative hypovolemia is a common pathology of most shock types. Correction of hypovolemia might reverse the disturbance and increase the tissue perfusion. Fluid resuscitation with crystalloid and colloid solutions can carry the risk of increasing morbidity and mortality if not used properly. Although crystalloid and colloid solutions are considered to have equal efficacy and safety profile, recent studies showed that this assumption may not be correct. Early and effective management of hypovolemia is the cornerstone of shock resuscitation. Initial management of patients with septic shock and hypovolemia should be done with 30ml/kg of crystalloids. Proper fluid replacement and resuscitation algoritms might increase the sürvival rate., Şok yüksek mortalite ile seyreden erken ve hızlı müdahale gerektiren bir patolojidir. Yakın zamanlara kadar uzlaşı rehberlerinde kristalloid ve kolloid solusyonlar eşit etkinlik ve güvenlik profiline sahip olarak belirtilmesine rağmen, yeni çalışmalar bu varsayımın doğru olmayabileceğini göstermiştir. Hipovolemi'de sıvı replasmanının hızlı ve etkin yapılması en uygun tedavi yaklaşımıdır. Septik şok ve hipovolemisi olan hastaların başlangıç sıvı yönetimi 30ml/kg kristalloid ile yapılmalıdır. Uygun sıvı seçimi ve resüsitasyon algoritmaları hastaların sağ kalım şansını artırabilmektedir.

In this paper, the stylometry analysis which is a bridge between statistics and literature is described. The stylometry analysis is used, in order to determine the author for literary works of unknown or disputed authorship by using the linguistic features of the authors' styles on the works, which the authors have been before or is used for detecting the change of writing style with time of the author. The purpose of this study is to introduce the stylometry analysis especially for the researchers studying in the field of Turkish Literature and to provide the researchers to make the significant studies by using the literature and the statistics together., Bu çalışmada istatistik ve edebiyat bilimleri arasında bir köprü olan stilometri analizi tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır. Şu ana kadar yapılan çalışmalarda yazarı belli olmayan (anonim) ya da şüpheli olan eserlerin yazarının belirlenmesinde, yazarı belli olan eserlerdeki dilbilimsel özellikler kullanılarak yazarın üslup özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde veya yazarın üslubunda zamanla meydana gelen değişikliklerin ortaya konmasında stilometri analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, özellikle Türk Edebiyatı alanında çalışan araştırmacılara Stilometri analizini tanıtmak ve araştırmacıların edebiyatla istatistiği birlikte kullanarak kavramsal olarak anlamlı çalışmalar yapmalarına katkı sağlamaktır.

Metalik implant malzemelerden CoCrMo alaşımı, sahip olduğu üstün mekanik özellikler ve korozyon direnci sebebiyle özellikle sert dokular yerine kullanılan protezlerin (özellikle kalça ve diz protezleri gibi ortopedik ürünlerin) üretiminde kullanılırlar. Ancak CoCrMo alaşımı aşınma özellikleri bakımından istenilen dirence sahip değildir. Bu çalışmada, CoCrMo alaşımının aşınma direncini artırmak için malzeme yüzeyi farklı işlem sıcaklıklarında plazma ile oksitlenmiştir. Oksidasyon sonrası yüzey sertliğinin işlem parametrelerine bağlı olarak 2-3 kat arttığı tespit edilmiştir. İşlem görmemiş CoCrMo alaşımının adezif türdeki aşınma davranışı gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Plazma ile oksidasyon işlemi sonucunda alaşım yüzeyinin adezif bağ yapma ihtimalinin azaltıldığı ve böylece aşınma direncinin arttığı görülmüştür.

Mevlana Mesnevi'sinde Benliğin Keşfi çalışmasında "benlik", tasavvufi ve felsefi kavramlarla ele alınmıştır. 'Ben bir başkasıdır' ve ben başkasında saklıdır. Ona ancak aşkla ulaşılır. Kendi içindeki ilahi benliği dostunun yüzünde gören insan ona aşık olur ve gördüğü her yüzde sevgilisinin yüzünü görür. Yüz, 'ben' dir.İnsanın bedensel ve ruhsal yanı onun en büyük paradokslarındandır. Bu paradokslar, çalışmada, Kant, Freud ve Mevlana'nın bakış açılarıyla ele alınmıştır. Freud'un libido kavramı ile Mevlana'nın nefs kavramının benzerliğine dikkat çekilmiştir. Kant'ın numen ve fenomen kavramlarına benlik fikri çerçevesinden bakılmıştır. Ayrıca Aristoteles ve Platon'un devlet ve toplum teorileri olmasına rağmen Mevlana'nın neden sadece bireyin manevi eğitimi ile ilgilendiği araştırılmıştır. Gelinen noktada bu durumun nedeni Konfüçyüs'ün şu sözleri ile özetlenebilir; "Ülkeni mi kurtarmak istiyorsun, önce toplumu kurtar; toplumu mu kurtarmak istiyorsun, önce aileni kurtar, aileni mi kurtarmak istiyorsun, önce kendini kurtar.Bunların dışında Mevlana'nın İnsan-ı Kamil düşüncesi Nietzsche'nin üst insan fikri ile birlikte değerlendirilmiş, aralarındaki benzerlikler ve farklılıklar vurgulanmıştır.Son olarak Descartes felsefesinden yola çıkarak insanla kalbi arasında yer alan bir Tanrı olduğu ve Tanrı'nın insan vücudunda hastalık ve sağlık gibi etkiler yarattığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Tanrı kendini isim ve sıfatları ile açığa çıkarmakta olup Dost, Ben ve Tanrı üçlüsünün birliği keşfedilmiştir.
