Temperature dependence of the structural evolution of plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposited Al2O3 film and the PC substrate.

The green bug Apolygus lucorum is a notorious pest that feeds on multiple crops, including fruit trees, vegetables, and cotton. The odorant-binding proteins (OBPs) are considered to perform crucial roles in regulating A. lucorum behaviors such as mating and feeding. In this study, we first identified OBPs in the A. lucorum genome. Then, we calculated the expression levels of these OBP genes in different tissues and stages. Thereafter, we conducted ligand-binding assay to test the interactions between nine selected AlucOBPs and multiple chemical compounds. The result showed that there were 31 OBP genes encoding 39 transcripts in the A. lucorum genome, and several OBP clusters were found. Comprehensive expression profiling revealed the tissue-specific expression of some OBP genes. The results of fluorescence competitive binding assays showed that these nine AlucOBPs could specifically bind to plant volatiles, nonvolatile compounds, and synthetic analogs thereof. Additionally, AlucOBP19 was suggested to function in gustatory sensing to avoid deleterious plant secondary metabolites, as AlucOBP19 showed high expression in the mouthparts and legs and could interact with quercetin. Our findings highlight the potential biotechnological application of plant volatiles and their synthetic analogs as ecological attractants and provide new gene targets for control of A. lucorum.

This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of percutaneous first extensor compartment releases performed on embalmed cadaveric models by acupotomy operation with or without US guidance.Methods: Percutaneous release was performed with an acupotomy on 59 wrists of cadavers; 23 wrists were operated with US guidance, and 39 wrists were operated without US guidance. Each arm was dissected and assessed regarding the amount of release as well as the extent of neurovascular and tendon injury. Anatomical structures were also observed in this study.Results: Twenty cases (87%) were successfully released with ultrasound-assisted techniques, and 27 cases (75%) were successfully released with blind techniques. No neurovascular injury occurred in any arm, regardless of technique. No significant tendon injury was seen in any arm. Although minor surface scratches were visualized in 11 cases, they occurred in 3 cases (13.04%) with ultrasound assistance and in 8 cases (22.22%) with blind techniques. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the measurement of the distance from the incision marks to the blood vessels and nerves. A fibrous septum and bony protrusions were found in the first dorsal compartment, which may be anatomical factors affecting the success of treatment.Conclusion: Both traditional and US-guided percutaneous release by acupotomy of the first extensor tendon compartment can be performed for all wrists. US-guided techniques can improve the success rate and reduce damage during acupotomy operations.Keywords: de Quervain’s disease, tendonitis, acupotomy, acupuncture, ultrasound guidance, anatomy

With the vigorous development of e-commerce, digital content consumption has prospered in the consumer market. Considering the perishability of digital content products and the negative utility of advertisements on users, the paper develops a dynamic game model for the supply chain with a digital content platform and an upstream advertiser, and obtains the optimal (or equilibrium) resource investing, pricing, and advertising strategies under the centralized and decentralized decision-making cases. The main results show that the marketing strategies of pricing and advertising are constant over the planning horizon, while the operation strategy of resource investing which depends on digital content products’ perishability is decreasing over time. And, the platform may open resource for free to benefit more from advertising. Furthermore, for a certain region with relatively small price sensitivity, a counterintuitive result is obtained that the resource investing level and the profits of both members increase with the price sensitivity under the decentralized case, which is in sharp contrast to the centralized case. Finally, ignoring the product perishability in the decision-making process will cut down the resource investment level and profit, and the profit loss is intensified by a lower price or advertising sensitivity of consumers.

Previous studies have shown that the hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein plays an important role in the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. This study aimed to identify the potential mechanism of HCV core protein in HCC.A transcription factor microarray analysis was performed to identify the factors regulated by the HCV core protein. A comprehensive bioinformatics analysis approach was utilized to predict the functions, regulatory signaling pathways and downstream target genes of the differentially regulated transcription factors. Dual-luciferase assays, qPCR, Western blotting, ERK pathway inhibition experiments and siRNA knockdown experiments were performed to verify the effects of the HCV core protein on PEA3, SRF and c-Fos, as well asthe underlying mechanism. The migration/invasion assay and scratch assay served to confirm the metastasis-promoting mechanism of the HCV core protein.The results demonstrated that altered expression of PEA3, SRF and c-Fos mediated by the HCV core protein were associated with the MAPK/ERK pathway. c-Fos was a downstream target protein of PEA3 and SRF. Knockdown of PEA3-SRF/c-Fos expression and ERK pathway components suppressed the migration and invasion activity of hepatocytes by affecting MMP2 and MMP9 expression.We provided preliminary evidence that the role of the HCV core protein in promoting metastasis is at least partially dependent on the activation of the MAPK/ERK/PEA3-SRF/c-Fos/MMP2/MMP9 axis. These findings reveal a novel mechanism by which the HCV core protein promotes HCC metastasis and may provide new therapeutic targets for patients with metastatic HCC.

With the rapid development of Internet technology and the explosive growth of digital text, opinion mining has become one of the important research hotspots in the field of natural language processing (NLP). In recent years, neural network based deep learning algorithms have been applied in the field of opinion mining. Considering the relation between temporal and spatial dimensions of text data and the characteristics of natural language itself, traditional deep learning algorithms cannot be comprehensive in the processing of fully feature extraction. In this paper, we propose a new deep learning framework for opinion mining, which includes a temporal feature extraction layer that consists of two layers of bidirectional simple recurrent unit (Bi-SRU) networks extracting features at the word and grammar levels; a semantic feature extraction layer that mainly contains a multi-head attention module; a spatial feature extraction layer with dilated convolution that is used to extract opinion preference features. The Internet movie database (IMDb) is used to verify the performance of the proposed framework. The experiment results show that the proposed framework can effectively improve the classification accuracy, whose performance is better than that of the compared algorithms.

Physalis alkekengi L. calyx (PC) extract can relieve insulin resistance and has glycemic and anti-inflammatory effects; however, the potential mechanisms related to gut microbiota and metabolites remain elusive. This study aimed to understand how PC regulates gut microbiota and metabolites to exert anti-obesogenic effects and relieve insulin resistance. In this study, a high-fat high-fructose (HFHF)-diet-induced obesity C57BL/6J male mice model with glycolipid metabolism dysfunction was established, which was supplemented with the aqueous extract of PC daily for 10 weeks. The results showed that the PC supplementation could effectively cure the abnormal lipid metabolism and maintain glucose metabolism homeostasis by regulating the expression of adipose metabolic genes and glucose metabolism genes in the liver, thereby effectively alleviating the inflammatory response. PC treatment also increased the contents of fecal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), especially butyric acid. PC extract could restore the HFHF-disrupted diversity of gut microbiota by significantly increasing the relative abundance of Lactobacillus and decreasing those of Romboutsia, Candidatus_Saccharimonas, and Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1. The negative effects of the HFHF diet were ameliorated by PC by regulating multiple metabolic pathways, such as lipid metabolism (linoleic acid metabolism, alpha-linolenic acid metabolism, and sphingolipid metabolism) and amino acid metabolism (histidine and tryptophan metabolism). Correlation analysis showed that among the obesity parameters, gut microbiota and metabolites are directly and closely related. To sum up, this study suggested that PC treatment exhibited therapeutic effects by regulating the gut microbiota, fecal metabolites, and gene expression in the liver to improve glucose metabolism, modulate adiposity, and reduce inflammation.

Exposure to metals can disrupt the human immune system. However, few studies have explored the potential effects of multiple metals co-exposure on immune function related to inflammation markers in human. This study examined the associations between metals exposure and inflammatory markers.The Data were gathered from the 2013–2016 period of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Inflammatory markers included platelet count (PLT), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV), the ratios of MPV to PLT (MPVP), white blood cell (WBC), and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). Associations between 13 urinary metals and inflammatory markers were estimated. Generalized linear model showed urinary barium, cadmium, lead, thallium and cobalt concentrations were associated with MPV, PLR, and NLR. In quantile g-computation, urinary metal mixture was negatively associated with MPV, but positively associated with PLR and NLR. Overall, our study demonstrated that metal mixture was associated with inflammation markers including MPV, PLR, and NLR, which enhancing the inflammatory response.

Purpose The caregivers of adult patients with β-thalassemia major bear not only physical but also emotional and economic pressures of providing care. The aim of this study was to examine the determinants of caregiver burden in adult patients with β-thalassemia major in mainland China. Methods In this cross-sectional study, we conducted an online survey with snowball sampling covering seven provinces between September 1, 2021, and January 31, 2022, of patients aged ≥18 years with β-thalassemia major and their caregivers. Caregiver burden was assessed using the Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI). Data on patient demographics, disease and therapy characteristics, and caregivers’ demographic characteristics were collected and analyzed using independent t-tests, analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression. Results Of 75 included patients, more than half (50.7%) were male. The mean patient age was 24.69±5.59 years. The mean age of the caregivers was 50.60±9.16 years, with women (74.7%) being predominant. The ZBI score was 38.00 ±17.02. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that patients with interrupted blood transfusion therapy and caregivers required to care of others were positively associated with caregiver burden (pConclusions The caregivers of adult patients with β-thalassemia major in mainland China experienced a moderate-to-severe level of caregiving burden. The burden was higher in patients with a history of interrupted blood transfusion therapy or in caregivers caring for others. Additionally, married caregivers experienced lower burdens compared to non-married caregivers. These findings provide a reference to identify caregivers with higher burdens among patients with β-thalassemia major.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) refers to the first occurrence or detection of glucose tolerance abnormalities during pregnancy, including cases that may have existed before pregnancy but have not been detected. It is one of the common complications during pregnancy. In recent years, the incidence of GDM is on the rise. The most common complication of GDM is macrosomia, which often causes dystocia, neonatal asphyxia, birth injury and postpartum bleached blood. Early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and maintenance of reasonable and stable blood glucose concentration can significantly reduce the incidence of complications. The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of ultrasound technique based on liposome nano-vesicles in the assessment of abnormal pregnancy outcomes in diabetic pregnant women. Objective: To investigate the value of ultrasound in the examination of fetal growth in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods a total of 100 pregnant women with gestational diabetes admitted to the hospital were selected as the research objects, and the clinical data of ultrasound examination were retrospectively analyzed. According to the newborn weight, they were divided into control group (normal fetus group) and observation group (giant fetus group). The growth of fetuses in the two groups was compared, and the predictive value of each measurement index to the weight of giant fetus was analyzed.Multiple regression analysis showed that LL, AC and FL played a decisive role in fetal weight, with statistically significant differences (P0.05). Conclusion Ultrasonography is of great value in predicting fetal growth in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus and can be widely used.

Considering the increase in drug resistance due to the abuse of antibiotics, the development of non-conventional antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial infections is necessary and urgent.

The preventive and therapeutic effects of herbal supplementation containing Ginseng, Lilii Bulbus, and Poria (GLP) on inflammation and oxidative stress in healthy adults have been demonstrated in our previous studies. However, the underlying mechanisms of organism protection by GLP remain unclarified, and few studies have used metabolomics to investigate comprehensive changes before and after GLP supplementation. Based on previous research, we conducted a placebo-controlled trial among 82 healthy adults in Wuhan, China, using a metabolomics approach with ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS) and multivariate statistical methods to analyze serum metabolite alterations in participants before and after GLP supplementation. This work aims to develop a modulation strategy for converting red mud (RM) into cementitious material based on elucidating the phase transformation of hydrogarnet. The results show that cementitious minerals 2CaO⋅SiO2 (C2S), 12CaO⋅7Al2O3 (C12A7), and 4CaO⋅Al2O3⋅Fe2O3 (C4AF), as well as the free iron minerals Fe and FeO, are formed by integrating calcification dealkalization and reduction roasting treatment of RM. During the reduction roasting process, CaO is preferentially combined with SiO2 and Al2O3 to form cementitious minerals, and the Fe(III) compounds in hydrogarnet and hematite can be directly reduced to free iron minerals without intermediate ferrites. By optimizing the reduction roasting parameters and eliminating the useless minerals 2CaO⋅Al2O3⋅SiO2 (C2AS) and FeO, the reduction roasting product is mainly composed of C2S, C12A7, C4AF, and Fe. Therefore, cementitious material is obtained after the magnetic separation of Fe, which possesses both early and late hydration properties. In addition, 75% Fe in RM can be recovered, and the reduced iron powder (RIP) is also useful in the cement clinker production or steel smelting process. The findings in this work lay the foundations for understanding the phase transformation of RM-derived hydrogarnet in the reduction roasting process and also provide a new reference for the modulation and utilization of RM in the cement and concrete field.

OBJECTIVE Financial hardship among older cancer survivors has not been well-studied, despite its debilitating effects on their health and well-being. The purpose of this study was to describe the lived experiences of Chinese older cancer survivors who have experienced financial hardship following a cancer diagnosis. METHODS A qualitative study was conducted. Data was collected using in-depth interviews with 21 older cancer survivors (aged ≥ 60) with financial hardship and 20 family caregivers in Shandong Province, China between August 2020 and January 2021. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. RESULTS Four main themes emerged: (1) older survivors have insufficient ability to address cancer-related costs; (2) financial transfers from adult children to older parents became prevalent after a cancer diagnosis; (3) cancer-related financial worries and stress extended into children's families; (4) coping and adjustment strategies were used by the extended family. Traditional Confucian culture and the Chinese health care system considerably impacted the interpretation of financial hardship. CONCLUSION Both older cancer survivors and their adult children experienced financial distress impacted by filial piety in China. Strategies adapted to Confucian family values and the health care system are needed to address cancer-related financial hardships.

This paper presents an adaptive trajectory tracking controller with full state feedback for vector propulsion unmanned surface vehicle (USV). The controller solves the problem of strong coupling of control inputs with vector propulsion by virtual control point method. Then, a guidance trajectory is designed to avoid input saturation as much as possible. In order to be closer to the reality of USV system, the tracking controller is also designed for its actuator. When designing the trajectory tracking controller, neural network-minimum learning parameter (NN-MLP) technology and parameter adaptive correction method are used to approximate and compensate the actuator error, model uncertainty and unknown environmental disturbances. By introducing a continuously differentiable approximate saturation function, the oscillation problem caused by the discontinuous signum function in the standard sliding mode control method is avoided. Next, the Lyapunov stability analysis of designed control law shows that the controller is ultimately uniformly bounded stability. Then, the zero-dynamics stability condition of virtual control point is also proved. Finally, compared with standard method, numerical simulation results verify the effectiveness of proposed method.

Bi2WO6-based heterojunction photocatalyst for antibiotic degradation has been a research hotspot, but its photocatalytic performance needs to be further improved. Therefore, 2D/2D P-doped g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 direct Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts with different composition ratios were prepared through three strategies of phosphorus (P) element doping, morphology regulation, and heterojunction, and the efficiency of its degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) under visible light was studied. Their structural, optical, and electronic properties were evaluated, and their photocatalytic efficiency for TC-HCl degradation was explored with a detailed assessment of the active species, degradation pathways, and effects of humic acid, different anions and cations, and water sources. The 30% P-doped g-C3N4/Bi2WO6 had the best photocatalytic performance for TC-HCl degradation. Its photocatalytic rate was 4.5-, 2.2-, and 1.9-times greater than that of g-C3N4, P-doped g-C3N4, and Bi2WO6, respectively. The improved photocatalytic efficiency was attributed to the synergistic effect of P doping and 2D/2D direct Z-scheme heterojunction construction. The stability and reusability of the 30% P-doped C3N4/Bi2WO6 were confirmed by cyclic degradation experiments. Radical scavenging experiments and electron spin resonance spectroscopy showed that the main active species were •O2− and h+. This work provides a new strategy for the preparation of direct Z-scheme heterojunction catalysts with high catalytic performance.

Recently, perfect optical vortexes (POVs) have attracted substantial attention, because they have an orbital angular momentum (OAM) and the beam diameter is independent of the topological charges. There are numerous innovative results that have been found by modulating the POV optical field. However, methods for controlling the arbitrary parameters of POV are lacking. In this paper, we use the optical pen to overcome this problem. The optical pen is a high-precision optical field modulation method construction based on the relationship between the optical path difference and phase. Based on this method, we have achieved POV arrays with controllable arbitrary parameters in free space, including the spatial position, numbers, topological charges, beam diameter, and amplitude. This work can be applied not only in the fields of optical tweezers, particle manipulation, and super-resolution microscopic imaging, but also will promote the development of optical communication, quantum information coding, and so on.

Compared with certain transition metals (e.g., iron, cobalt, and manganese), noble metals are less frequently applied in peroxymonosulfate (PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Palladium (Pd), as one of noble metals, has been reported to possess the possibility of both radical mechanisms and electron transfer mechanisms in a heterogeneous Pd/PMS system, however, data are still sparse on the homogeneous Pd/PMS system. Therefore, this work aims to explore the homogeneous reactivity of PMS by Pd(II) ions from the aspects of reaction parameters, radical or non-radical oxidation mechanisms, and the relationship between pollutants’ degradation rate and their molecular descriptors based on both experimental data and density functional theory (DFT) calculation results. As a result, the reaction mechanism of Pd(II)/PMS followed a radical-driven oxidation process, where sulfate radicals (SO4•−), rather than hydroxyl radicals (HO•), were the primary reactive oxidant species. BOx and EHOMO played significant roles in pollutant degradation during the Pd(II)/PMS system. It turned out that the bond’s stability and electron donation ability of the target compound was responsible for its degradation performance. This finding provides an insight into PMS activation by a noble metal, which has significant implications for scientific research and technical development.

Wound healing has been greatly challenging in different acute and chronic skin injuries. Among them, nonrevascularizable critical limb ischemic ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and diabetic lower limb or extremity ulcers are well-known refractory skin injuries that are difficult to treat. Partly differentiated, progenitor cell-based graft transplantation or direct injection of autologous stem cells might promote the wound healing process. Studies aiming to comprehensively analyze the effects of cell therapy on skin wound healing could provide clinical evidence for skin injury treatment. Different databases were searched for full-text publications on the comparison between cell therapy and regular therapy. Heterogeneity was detected by the I2 method, and a fixed effect model was applied for data pooling if heterogeneity was absent. Publication bias was analyzed using a funnel plot, and 10 studies were finally included in this study. After a long-term follow-up, fewer patients underwent major amputation in the cell therapy group, compared with the standard therapy group, and those in the cell therapy group were characterized by a smaller ulcer area. Moreover, there was a significant difference in the wound healing rate between the intervention and control groups. However, pain caused by skin wounds was hardly mitigated by cell therapy in patients with critical limb ischemia. In this study, cell therapy proved effective in decreasing the size of ulcers and improving the wound closure rate. Additionally, the major amputation rate was decreased in the cell therapy group. However, the symptoms of pain were hardly alleviated by cell therapy in patients with cutaneous ulcers caused by peripheral artery disease-related critical limb ischemia.

Background Lung cancer is the most prevalent cancer, and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in China. The aim of this study was to estimate the direct medical expenditure incurred for lung cancer care and analyze the trend therein for the period 2002–2011 using nationally representative data in China Methods This study was based on 10-year, multicenter retrospective expenditure data collected from hospital records, covering 15,437 lung cancer patients from 13 provinces diagnosed during the period 2002–2011. All expenditure data were adjusted to 2011 to eliminate the effects of inflation using China’s annual consumer price index. Results The direct medical expenditure for lung cancer care (in 2011) was 39,015 CNY (US$6,041) per case, with an annual growth rate of 7.55% from 2002 to 2011. Drug costs were the highest proportionally in the total medical expenditure (54.27%), followed by treatment expenditure (14.32%) and surgical expenditure (8.10%). Medical expenditures for the disease varied based on region, hospital level, type, and stage. Conclusion The medical expenditure for lung cancer care is substantial in China. Drug costs and laboratory test are the main factors increasing medical costs.

Microfluidics confers unique advantages in microbiological studies as these devices can accurately replicate the micro- and even nano-scale structures of soil to simulate the habitats of bacteria. It not only helps us understand the spatial distribution of bacterial communities (such as biofilms), but also provides mechanistic insights into microbial behaviors including chemotaxis and horizontal gene transfer (HGT). Microfluidics provides a feasible means for real-time, in situ studies and enables in-depth exploration of the mechanisms of interactions in the soil microbiome. This review aims to introduce the basic principles of microfluidic technology and summarize the recent progress in microfluidic devices to study bacterial spatial distribution and functions, as well as biological processes, such bacterial chemotaxis, biofilm streamers (BS), quorum sensing (QS), and HGT. The challenges in and future development of microfluidics for soil microbiological studies are also discussed.

Acupotomy has been used to treat Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome（TTS） in China for many years. However, from the perspective of evidence-based medicine, the impact and safety of acupotomy on TTS is still controversial. There is limited evidence in the form of systematic reviews and meta-analysis with regard to acupotomy treatment for TTS. This study will assess the effectiveness and safety of acupotomy therapy for TTS. To provide evidence for further enhancing the clinical curative effect on patients with TTS, this study will adopt an evidence-based medicine method to analyze and evaluate clinical RCTs in patients with TTS.

A large proportion of the global burden of childhood cancer arises in China. These patients have a poor quality of life (QoL) and their family caregivers have high unmet needs. This paper examined the association between the unmet needs of family caregivers and the care recipient’s QoL. A total of 286 childhood cancer caregivers were included in this cross-sectional study. Unmet needs and depression among caregivers were assessed by the Comprehensive Needs Assessment Tool for Cancer Caregivers (CNAT-C) and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), respectively. The patient’s QoL was proxy-reported by the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Measurement Models (PedsQL 3.0 scale Cancer Module). Descriptive analyses, independent Student’s t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and mediation analyses were performed. The mean scores (standard deviations) for unmet needs, depression, and QoL were 65.47 (26.24), 9.87 (7.26), and 60.13 (22.12), respectively. A caregiver’s unmet needs (r = −0.272, p < 0.001) and depression (r = −0.279, p < 0.001) were negatively related to a care recipient’s QoL. Depression among caregivers played a mediating role in the relationship between a caregiver’s unmet needs and a care recipient’s QoL. As nursing interventions address depression among caregivers, it is important to standardize the programs that offer psychological support to caregivers.

Pre-hospital control of bleeding is critical to save lives, however the development of hemostatic agents with efficient and safe performance is still a challenge. In this study, a hybrid hemostatic gauze (MG-PEG) with in-situ growth and tightly bound mesoporous silicon (MSN) was prepared by template method for hemorrhage control. This material integrated meso-porosity, blood coagulation and stability into flexible gauze fiber. The PEG in MG-PEG was not only used as template for the in-suit MSN growth, but also acted as joint connection between the gauze fibers and MSN. The MSN particles were firmly bound to the surface of gauze fibers with extremely low leakage after 3 min of sonication and displayed a comparable coagulant activity to untreated sample. The results of animal experiments confirmed that MG-PEG possessed superior hemostatic performance over silicates-based inorganic hemostasis-Combat Gauze, in terms of higher coagulant activity (in vivo clotting time200 s), minimized loss of active components (liquids OD was only 3 % of CG), well biocompatibility (hemolysis ratio 5 %, no cytotoxicity) and wider indications range for practical application.

Background Hallux valgus (HV) is a common foot and ankle surgery disease. The pathogenesis of HV may be closely related to the abnormal bone structure, soft tissue imbalance, shoe-wearing habits, heredity, and other factors. The surgical treatment of hallux valgus (HV) is the main way to relieve pain and improve functional outcomes. Research on hallux valgus (HV) is growing, but bibliometric literature is still lacking. In this study, bibliometric analysis was used to assess the study's focus, reported insights, and future directions in HV research. Methods Literature related to HV from 2004 to 2021 were retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). VOSViewer and Rbibliometrix were used for bibliometric analysis, revealing the leading research countries, institutions, and authors, as well as the distribution of keywords. Results A total of 2002 records were identified for analysis. The United States had the most significant number of published articles and total citations. La Trobe University from Australia and Hospital for Special Surgery in the United States were not only the two institutions with the most publications, but also the highest collaborative network. Foot & Ankle International has the highest number of publications, the total citations, and the h-index. In addition, Menz HB, Coughlin MJ, and Hannan MT were the three most influential authors who might determine the focus and direction of the study. Keyword analysis identified three hot research clusters. "Percutaneous," "pronation," and "minimally invasive surgery" have received more attention in recent years. Conclusion Our research illustrated the current status and trends in the HV field from 2004 to 2021. The map of research on HV obtained by our analysis is expected to help researchers efficiently and effectively explore HV.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM) plays an important role in heavy metal passivation and organic pollutant degradation owing to its redox ability. The structure and composition of DOM are determinants of redox ability changes during composting. Electric field-assisted aerobic composting (EAAC) has been shown to promote the degradation and humification of organic matter in compost. However, how EAAC affects the redox ability of DOM remains unclear. Hence, electron transfer capacity (ETC) of DOM extracted from EAAC was studied using the electrochemical method. Various spectral methods, such as excitation-emission matrix and ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometry were used to study the relationship of ETC with the compositional and structural changes of DOM. Results indicated that EAAC enhanced ETC of DOM at the later stage of composting, and ETC of DOM extracted from the final EAAC product was 10.4% higher than that of the control group. Spectral and correlation analyses showed that EAAC resulted in structural and compositional changes of DOM, and humification degree, aromatic compounds, molecular weight, and fulvic- and humic-like substance contents were improved in EAAC. This conversion increased ETC of DOM. Results of this study will contribute to the understanding of the redox of DOM and in expanding the application of EAAC products.

Obesity is a risk factor for many serious health problems, associated with inflammation, hyperlipidemia, and gut dysbiosis. Prevention of obesity is especially important for human health.

The development of fast, safe and effective hemostatic materials is crucial for pre-hospital first aid. In this study, diatomite hemostatic granules (Dhp) were developed by rotating granulation method using silica sol as binder. During rotating granulation process, the Pre-Dhp were prepared by rolling snowball effect, in which nano-silica in silica sol uniformly distributed on the surface of diatomite and polymerized through hydrogen bond to produce strong adhesion. After high-temperature calcination, the hydrogen bond transformed to silica oxygen bond and the three-dimensional gel network formed by silica sol was destroyed to exposed the pores of diatomite. Dhp retained the porous structure of diatomite with hierarchical porous structure (from nano to micro scale). Dhp could quickly adsorb the tangible components in the blood, exhibited rapid hemostatic ability (clotting time was shortened by 43 % than that of control group), and good biocompatibility (hemolysis rate7 %, no cytotoxicity). Dhp residue was not found in the wound of rat tail amputation model, indicating that the adhesion of silica sol and high-temperature curing treatment enhanced the stability of Dhp and reduced the hidden danger of micro thrombosis caused by residual substances entering blood vessels. Our study proved that Dhp prepared by silica sol bonding and rotary granulation was excellent hemostatic material with non-toxic side effects and rapid coagulation promotion.

The gene coding interleukin 6 (IL‐6) is a promising candidate in predisposition to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study aimed to meta‐analytically examine the association of IL‐6 gene −174G/C polymorphism with T2DM and circulating IL‐6 changes across −174G/C genotypes. Odds ratio (OR) and standard mean difference (SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Twenty‐five articles were meta‐analysed, with 20 articles for T2DM risk and 9 articles for circulating IL‐6 changes. Overall, there was no detectable significance for the association between −174G/C polymorphism and T2DM, and this association was relatively obvious under dominant model (OR: 0.82, 95% CI: 0.56‐1.21). Improved heterogeneity was seen in some subgroups, with statistical significance found in studies involving subjects of mixed races (OR: 0.63, 95% CI: 0.46‐0.86). Begg's and filled funnel plots, along with Egger's tests revealed week evidence of publication bias. In genotype‐phenotype analyses, carriers of −174CC and −174CG genotypes separately had 0.10 and 0.03 lower concentrations (pg/mL) of circulating IL‐6 than −174GG carriers. Albeit no detectable significance for the association of −174G/C with T2DM, our findings provided suggestive evidence on a dose‐dependent relation between −174G/C mutant alleles and circulating IL‐6 concentrations, indicating possible implication of this polymorphism in the pathogenesis of T2DM.

By deploying unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), the efficiency and reliability of mission execution can be improved. This paper is concerned with the problem of formation autonomous navigation system (FANS) for USVs. The decision layer of the system is composed of path planning subsystem and navigation control subsystem to realize fast and effective autonomous navigation system. The FANS is constructed by leader-follower structure and distributed control strategy, which make the individuals in the formation have certain autonomy. The dynamic domain tunable fast marching square algorithm proposed in the path planning subsystem can not only adjust the safety and length of the path planned, but also continuously re-plan the path according to the motion information of the USV formation and target-vessels. Navigation control subsystem based on finite control set model predictive control can quickly and safely guide and control formation in local sea environment. The simulation tests are carried out in static and dynamic harbor environments respectively, which verifies the ability of the FANS to achieve stable formation tracking and autonomous safe navigation.
