Abstract

An extended crystal plasticity model and an optimized neural network are established to investigate the mechanical behavior of CoCrNiSi0.3C0.048Medium entropy alloy (MEA) with a three-level hierarchical precipitation structure under dynamic compressive deformation at a variety of ranges of strain rates. The interaction between the matrix and first-level precipitates is described by a presented hybrid representative volume element RVE model, involving the effects of volume fraction (Vf), radius and geometric distribution on heterogeneous deformation. Effects of second- and third-level precipitates are realized through the extended crystal plasticity constitutive model, reflecting the motion mechanism of dislocations near the precipitates in the form of initial slip resistance. Meanwhile, this study investigates the influence of the presence of primary precipitates on the initiation of slip systems within special grains with Goss or S orientations in the matrix. Additionally, it provides a more in-depth explanation of the underlying principles behind the suppression of Goss texture formation by the precipitates from the perspective of slip systems analysis. The changing of volume fractions affects flow stress evolution. Avoiding suffering from expensive computational consumption by the crystal plasticity finite element method, an artificial neural network model optimized through a genetic algorithm, is presented to predict stress-strain responses and texture evolution results under varying compression strain rates. A reliable dataset derived from crystal plasticity finite element models and experimental results is utilized to train, test, and validate the genetic algorithm-based artificial neural network model. This model demonstrates good prediction capability in dynamic mechanical behavior and texture evolution, showcasing the feasibility and efficacy of the proposed neural network model. Compared to the CPFEM method, neural network models can greatly improve computational efficiency.

Abstract

Prompt and delayed γ-ray spectroscopy of the neutron-deficient, semi-magic isotope $^{187}$Pb has been performed using the recoil-decay and isomer-decay tagging techniques at the Argonne Gas-Filled Analyzer. A new 5.15(15)-μs isomeric state at only 308 keV above the spherical 3/2$^{−}$ ground state is identified and classified as a shape isomer. A strongly-coupled band is observed on top of the isomer, which is nearly identical to the one built on the prolate 7/2$^{−}$[514] Nilsson state in the isotone $^{185}$Hg. Based on this similarity and on the result of the potential-energy surface calculations, the new isomer in $^{187}$Pb is proposed to originate from the same configuration. The retarded character of the 308-keV (7/2$^{−}$)→3/2gs− transition with a deduced B(E2)=5.6(2)×10−4 W.u. can be well explained by the significant difference between the prolate parent and spherical daughter configurations, leading to the shape isomerism. The excitation energy of the isomer is surprisingly low, being roughly half of the excitation energies of the known 0$^{+}$ intruder bandheads in the neighboring $^{186,188}$Pb isotopes. The combined results of the present work and the previous α-decay and laser spectroscopy studies present evidence for triple shape coexistence at low energy in the negative-parity configurations of $^{187}$Pb, which is well reproduced by the potential-energy surface calculations.

Abstract

The diffuse Galactic $\gamma$-ray emission, mainly produced via interactions between cosmic rays and the diffuse interstellar medium, is a very important probe of the distribution, propagation, and interaction of cosmic rays in the Milky Way. In this work we report the measurements of diffuse $\gamma$-rays from the Galactic plane between 10 TeV and 1 PeV energies, with the square kilometer array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Diffuse emissions from the inner ($15^{\circ}10$~TeV). The energy spectrum in the inner Galaxy regions can be described by a power-law function with an index of $-2.99\pm0.04$, which is different from the curved spectrum as expected from hadronic interactions between locally measured cosmic rays and the line-of-sight integrated gas content. Furthermore, the measured flux is higher by a factor of $\sim3$ than the prediction. A similar spectrum with an index of $-2.99\pm0.07$ is found in the outer Galaxy region, and the absolute flux for $10\lesssim E\lesssim60$ TeV is again higher than the prediction for hadronic cosmic ray interactions. The latitude distributions of the diffuse emission are consistent with the gas distribution, while the longitude distributions show slight deviation from the gas distribution. Abstract

The decay of the 13/2$^{+}$ isomeric state in $^{183}$Hg was observed for the first time following the α decay of the 13/2$^{+}$ isomer in $^{187}$Pb produced in the $^{142}$Nd($^{50}$Cr, 2p3n) reaction. Using α−γ delayed coincidence measurements, the half-life of this isomer was measured to be 290(30) μs. This isomer is proposed to deexcite by an unobserved low-energy M2 transition to the known 9/2$^{−}$ member of a strongly prolate-deformed 7/2$^{−}$[514] band, followed by a 105-keV M1 transition to the bandhead. A lower limit of B(M2) ≥ 0.018 W.u. was deduced for the unobserved transition. The presumed retardation is proposed to be due to the notable shape change between the initial, nearly spherical, and the final, strongly deformed, states. A similar scenario is also considered for the 13/2$^{+}$ isomer in $^{181}$Hg, suggesting both are cases of shape isomers. The B(M2) systematics of neutron transitions across the nuclear chart is discussed.

INTRODUCTION Obesity is a serious public health problem that needs to be addressed urgently, because not only developed countries but also developing ones face an obesity epidemic among both children [...], BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Dietary patterns represent the combined effects of foods and efficaciously illustrate the impact of diet on health outcomes. This study identified the dietary patterns and determined their relationships with obesity among young Chinese women. SUBJECTS/METHODS: In 2011, the China Health and Nutrition Survey included 2363 young women aged 18-44 years. Factor analysis of data from three consecutive 24-h dietary recalls identified the dietary patterns. Weight, height and waist circumstance (WC) were measured, and body mass index (BMI) was calculated. General obesity was defined as BMI [greater than or equal to] 28 kg/[m.sup.2] and abdominal obesity as WC [greater than or equal to] 85 cm. RESULTS: Four dietary patterns were identified: traditional south; traditional north; snack; and high protein. After adjusting for confounders and energy intake, women in the highest-score quintiles of the traditional south pattern were less likely to have general obesity (odds ratio (OR) = 0.48;95% confidence interval (CI) 0.29-0.78) and abdominal obesity (OR = 0.64;95% CI 0.46-0.90). Subjects in the highest-score quintiles of the traditional north pattern had significantly greater risk of general obesity (OR = 2.28; 95% CI 1.38-3.74) and of abdominal obesity (OR = 2.32;95% CI 1.66-3.24). CONCLUSION: The traditional south pattern of rice as the major staple food with pork and vegetable dishes is associated with lower risk of general and abdominal obesity. The traditional north pattern of high intake of wheat, other cereals and tubers is positively associated with general and abdominal obesity.
