The RC frame structure is widely applied in China due to its flexible layout and good anti-collapse capacity during an earthquake. However, a lot of RC frame structures collapsed in the strong earthquake zone during the Wenchuan earthquake. The collapse resistance of the RC frame structures during an actual earthquake is inconsistent to the designed seismic collapse resistance in a project. So the collapse resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures during an earthquake and its influencing factors are a hot research topic in the field of earthquake engineering. Based on the research results of scholars in recent years, this paper briefly discusses the evaluation criteria of structural collapse, the structural collapse mechanism during a real earthquake and the influence of nonstructural components. Finally, the influencing factors are summarized in terms of design methods, plastic hinges and nonstructural members, which have certain reference significance for the seismic collapse resistance design.

High-efficiency ternary acetylglucosyl 2-methyl-imidazolium modified Pd catalyst for integration of CO2 capture, activation, and conversion in carboxycyclization of propargyl amines and dilute CO2 with a record TOF of 1440 h−1 has been developed.

Objective. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of transient elastography (TE) and two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE) for staging liver fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis (CVH). Methods. Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched (-01/08/2021) for studies comparing TE with 2D-SWE in patients with CVH. Other etiologies of chronic liver disease (CLD) and articles not published in SCI journals were excluded. The bivariate random-effects model was used to pool the performance of the TE and 2D-SWE. Results. Eight articles with a total of 1301 CVH patients were included. The prevalence of significant fibrosis ( fibrosis stage ≥ 2 ), advanced fibrosis ( fibrosis stage ≥ 3 ), and cirrhosis was 50.8%, 44.8%, and 34.7%, respectively. 2D-SWE expressed higher overall accuracy than TE in detecting significant fibrosis (0.93 vs. 0.85, P = 0.04 ). No significant difference among the overall diagnostic accuracy of TE and 2D-SWE in staging advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis was found. Conclusion. TE and 2D-SWE express good to excellent diagnostic accuracies to stage fibrosis in CVH patients. 2D-SWE compares favorably with TE especially for predicting significant fibrosis.

To evaluate the clinical results of primary topography-guided femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (TG-FS-LASIK) using the Pentacam-measured anterior corneal astigmatism axis (ACA) or manifest refractive astigmatism axis (MRA).In this prospective cohort study, all eyes were treated with primary TG-FS-LASIK using the manifest cylinder. Thirty-two right eyes were treated using ACA with axis disparity 5° in the experimental group, and 32 right eyes were treated using MRA with axis disparity ≤ 5° in the control group. Visual, refractive outcomes, and corneal higher-order aberrations were evaluated. Vector analysis of astigmatism was performed using Alpins method with the ASSORT software.The mean logMAR UDVA in the experimental group was - 0.12 ± 0.06, - 0.05 ± 0.08, and - 0.08 ± 0.08 at 1-week, 1-month, and 3-month follow-up, whereas - 0.05 ± 0.06, - 0.12 ± 0.06, and - 0.14 ± 0.06 in the control group (p = 0.017, p 0.001, and p = 0.003). At 3-month follow-up, 79% eyes achieved a UDVA of 20/16 or better, 9% gained one line of corrected distance visual acuity, the mean manifest cylinder was - 0.375 ± 0.254 D, 84% showed a manifest cylinder within ± 0.50 D, the mean magnitude of difference vector was 0.41 ± 0.35 D, the mean absolute angle of error (AE) was 7.36 ± 6.21°, and 41% exhibited an arithmetic AE within ± 5° in the experimental group, whereas 94%, 19%, - 0.203 ± 0.148 D, 100%, 0.21 ± 0.15 D, 3.39 ± 3.68°, and 69% in the control group (all p 0.05). The postoperative and preoperative corneal spherical aberrations were comparable in both groups (p 0.05).Primary topography-guided FS-LASIK using Pentacam-measured anterior corneal astigmatism axis exhibited slightly inferior clinical results to that using the manifest refractive astigmatism axis. Both methods achieved comparable postoperative and preoperative corneal spherical aberrations.

Background In gastric cancer (GC), biomarkers that reliably predict prognosis and patient response to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) are lacking. Accumulating evidence indicate that RNA modification of m1A/m5C/m6A/m7G has a close relationship with the initiation and progression of cancer, particularly in GC. Here, our objective is to identify a significant signature based on m1A/m5C/m6A/m7G-regulated genes for prognosis prediction and immune correlation analysis in GC. Methods Firstly, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-GC dataset was sifted for m1A/m5C/m6A/m7G-regulated genes that were significantly differentially expressed in normal and GC samples. By combining clinical survival prognostic information of the samples, the most optimal gene combination that was significantly associated with GC prognosis was then systematically sifted. Following that, a novel prognostic risk score (RS) model was constructed. The GSE62254 dataset was used for the RS model validation, with own RT-qPCR conducted for biological validation. Furthermore, a nomogram was founded to better predict the overall survival (OS) of GC. Finally, the RS model and its relevance to immune infiltration, drug sensitivity and pathway enrichment were investigated. Results On the basis of the m1A/m5C/m6A/m7G-regulated genes, we developed a prognostic RS model that classified GC patients as high or low risk. The predicted capability of the RS model was well validated in both TCGA-GC training and GSE62254 validation sets. After identifying the RS model as an independent prognostic factor via univariate and multivariate analyses, we built a nomogram with high accuracy to enhance the RS model's clinical suitability. When compared to low-risk patients, high-risk patients had a shorter OS and more activated oncogenic pathways. More importantly, the high-risk group exhibited higher ESTIMATE, immune, and stromal scores, as well as higher expression of immune checkpoint-related genes and human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-related genes. Lastly, we observed that the majority of commonly used GC chemotherapeutic agents had lower IC50 values in high-risk patients. Conclusion We created a reliable prognostic RS model based on m1A/m5C/m6A/m7G regulated genes that can predict GC prognosis and guide individualized treatment decisions-making.

OBJECTIVE Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) is characterized by refractory seizures, developmental delay or intellectual disability, which may be caused by gene mutation. In this study, we explored the clinical phenotype and long-term outcome in children with genetic early-infantile-onset DEEs. METHODS Next-generation sequencing was performed on 470 patients diagnosed with early-infantile-onset DEE between 2010 and 2020. The genetic variation in all cases was classified and evaluated to identify pathogenic variants. The identified variants were further verified by Sanger sequencing. RESULTS A total of 118 and 10 patients were found to have putative disease-causing gene mutations and copy number variations, respectively. SCN1A mutations were detected in 38 patients (38/118, 32.2%), representing the largest proportion. In patients with early-infantile-onset DEE with burst suppression, KCNQ2 mutation was found in six patients, and the remaining mutations were reported in SCN2A (n=2) and STXBP1 (n=1). Seven patients with dyskinesia were described. In patients with non-syndromic genetic early-infantile-onset DEEs, we detected possible rare pathogenic variants in SETBP1, DPYD, CSNK2B, and H3F3A. With regards to inheritance pattern, de novo heterozygous mutations accounted for the majority (104/118; 88.1%). Three patients with SMC1A mutations responded well to ketogenic diet add-on therapy. Addition of valproic acid showed good therapeutic effects against KCNB1 and PACS2 encephalopathy. SIGNIFICANCE We detected four possible rare pathogenic gene variants as non-syndromic genetic causes of early-infantile-onset DEEs. Although early-infantile-onset DEEs responded poorly to antiseizure medication treatment, we found that specific antiseizure medications showed good therapeutic effects in some patients with early-infantile-onset DEEs harbouring gene variants.

Neighborhood rough sets (NRS) are the extended model of the classical rough sets. The NRS describe the target concept by upper and lower neighborhood approximation boundaries. However, the method of approximately describing the uncertain target concept with existed neighborhood information granules is not given. To solve this problem, the cost-sensitive approximation model of the NRS is proposed in this paper, and its related properties are analyzed. To obtain the optimal approximation granular layer, the cost-sensitive progressive mechanism is proposed by considering user requirements. The case study shows that the reasonable granular layer and its approximation can be obtained under certain constraints, which is suitable for cost-sensitive application scenarios. The experimental results show that the advantage of the proposed approximation model, moreover, the decision cost of the NRS approximation model will monotonically decrease with granularity being finer.

Pathogenic variants in SCN8A have been demonstrated with a wide spectrum of epilepsy phenotypes, ranging from benign infantile epilepsy (BIE), to early onset developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) with moderate to severe developmental delay. In order to provide further insight on the spectrum of SCN8A-related epilepsy, we aimed to explore the clinical and genetic phenotype in Chinese children.A cohort of fifty Chinese patients with SCN8A-related disorders was included in the retrospective study. Genetic and clinical features and treatment effect of patients were further assessed based on phenotype parameters. The pathogenicity of variants was classified using the next-generation sequencing variation study.We found 50 patients who presented with severe developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE, 70%), benign infantile epilepsy (BIE, 12%), developmental encephalopathy with epilepsy (16%), and severe developmental delay without epilepsy (2%). The seizure onset age ranged from 1 day to 1 year and 11 months. After anti-seizure treatment, 28% of patients obtained seizure control. Sodium channel blockers showed good prognosis in 26% of patients with severe DEE. Oxcarbazepine (OXC) monotherapy was obviously effective in patients with BIE and developmental encephalopathy with epilepsy, most importantly, 87.5% received the anti-seizure therapy with sodium channel blockers in combination. All the variants were de novo missense with exception of one splice site variant. We reported three new variants, Asn1887Ser, Ile1605Thr, and Met1869Thr, which were associated with SCN8A-BIE.The phenotypic spectrum of SCN8A-related disorders in Chinese children ranged from severe developmental delay without epilepsy to severe DEE. Three new variants were associated with SCN8A-BIE. Sodium channel blockers were effective in treating seizures for some SCN8A-related disorders however may not be relevant to the mutant location.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is an autosomal dominant neurocutaneous syndrome involved in many organ systems. At the same time, epilepsy is the most common manifestation and more than 50% of TSC patients present with intractable epilepsy. This study investigated the efficacy and safety of optimized and high-density stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RF-TC) in treating TSC-related epilepsy.Nine TSC children with refractory epilepsy were treated with first-stage SEEG-Guided RF-TC, and four underwent second-stage-optimized high-density array of SEEG-Guided RF-TC. Patients' clinical data and postoperative outcomes were analyzed retrospectively.The patients' median age at surgery was 4 years and 2 month (range from 3 years and 5 month to 16 years and 7 month). The mean age at surgery was 6.7 years old. Eight in 9 (88.9%) patients achieved complete remission after the final operation at half-year follow-up. Of seven patients with final postoperative time beyond 1 year, 6 (85.7%) reached completely seizure-free. No severe or long-term neurologic impairment existed in all nine patients.Optimized high-density array of SEEG-guided RF-TC is a safe and highly effective approach and can be an alternative application applied for TSC patients with refractory epilepsy.
