Featured Application: The architecture proposed here is applicable to the management of complex systems, for example, manufacturing, healthcare, automobiles, and airplanes. The processing of information in real-time (through the processing of complex events) has become an essential task for the optimal functioning of manufacturing plants. Only in this way can artificial intelligence, data extraction, and even business intelligence techniques be applied, and the data produced daily be used in a beneficent way, enhancing automation processes and improving service delivery. Therefore, professionals and researchers need a wide range of tools to extract, transform, and load data in real-time efficiently. Additionally, the same tool supports or at least facilitates the visualization of this data intuitively and interactively. The review presented in this document aims to provide an up-to-date review of the various tools available to perform these tasks. Of the selected tools, a brief description of how they work, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of their use, will be presented. Furthermore, a critical analysis of overall operation and performance will be presented. Finally, a hybrid architecture that aims to synergize all tools and technologies is presented and discussed. 103. CHAPTER 7: Meeting the British: Yeats, Tagore, and Self Fashioning.

- Abstract
This chapter investigates the ways that Yeats and Tagore performed identities as well as the receptions of these self-fashionings. Beginning with Yeats' efforts to bring his poetry to the British public through performance as a young, wild Celt in an image of tableau and ending with Tagore's travels to Sweden and 1921, the chapter argues that Yeats' 1887 performance of cultural identity has been ignored while Tagore's 1912 dinner attendance has been overplayed; in fact, Tagore's cultural exchange at that dinner table continued a centuries-old family pattern. Yeats, in 1887, performed in an image accompanying his poem, fashioning himself in a way that would bring British attention to him as an emerging poet, ensuring that his persona would be intriguingly other to the public on the other side of the sea. As Vietnam continues to industrialize and modernize, such economic development and high-tech will require a major electrical energy source to operate the electrical equipment; hence, the hydropower plants are established and growing up to demand. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the business performance of Vietnamese hydropower suppliers by integrating the LTS(A,A,A) model of the Additive Holt-winters method in Tableau and a super-slacks-based measure (super-SBM) max model in data envelopment analysis (DEA). The LTS(A,A,A) model is applied to forecast future valuation from 2022 to 2025 based on historical time series from 2012 to 2021. Next, with the actual and predicted data, the researcher uses the super-SBM max model to calculate the business performance of these hydropower suppliers from past to future. The empirical result reveals efficient and inefficient cases to explore which hydropower suppliers can achieve the business performance in their operational process. The position of hydropower suppliers in Vietnam from past to future time is determined particularly based on their scores every year. Further, the empirical result recommends a solution to deal with inefficient cases by deducting the input excesses and raising the output shortages based on the principle of the super-SBM Max model in DEA. The finding results create an overview of the operational process with the continuing variations in each period to equip hydropower suppliers in Vietnam which will determine their future and operational orientation.

The present thesis investigates the music and career of Jeffrey Lewis (born 1942). The thesis is broadly divided into three sections. First is an account of the composer’s life, told mainly through an overview of his works, but also through a sketch of his early years in South Wales, his studies in Cardiff, Darmstadt, Kraków and Paris, his academic career in Leeds and Bangor, and his subsequent early retirement from academia. There follows a more detailed study of six works from the period 1978 – 1985, during which certain features of Lewis’s musical language came to the fore, perhaps most notably a very individual and instantly recognisable use of modal language. After an Epilogue, the thesis concludes with an Appendix in the form of a Catalogue in which all Lewis’s known compositions are listed, together with details of performances, broadcasts and recordings. Lewis’s music often plays with our temporal expectations; the close interrelationship between texture, structure, harmony and melody, and its effect upon our perception of the passage of time, are explored in the main analyses. These are conducted partly by means of comparison with other works by Lewis or his contemporaries. Memoria is examined in relation to a similarly tranquil score, Naaotwá Lalá, by Giles Swayne. The following chapter discusses the extra-musical inspiration for Epitaph for Abelard and Heloise, whose relationship to Tableau is then explored in the next. The difficulties of creating a large-scale structure that unifies the work’s various harmonic elements are also investigated. The analysis of Carmen Paschale considers it in relation to Lewis’s other choral music, whilst the final analytical chapter compares and contrasts two three-movement works, the Piano Trio and the Fantasy for solo piano. Lewis’s melodic writing in the Piano Trio is discussed in relation to that of James MacMillan, and the origins of the first movement of Fantasy in Oliver Knussen’s Sonya’s Lullaby are explored. In the Epilogue, the possible reasons for Lewis’s current neglect are explored, various influences on Lewis’s musical thinking are laid out, and his achievements are assessed.

The tableau, an art form originating from theatres and the visual arts, is also a literary phenomenon. Literary tableaux are short scenic interruptions or pictorial compositions arresting the narrative flow and serving as highlighted moments where time stands still. Either they are scenes of intense emotion, or they occur at a crucial point in the plot. This paper distinguishes between two modes of writing that are at work in literary tableaux, which I will call absorption and contemplation. Absorption is a mode of writing and reading related to formal realism. In his theory about tableaux, Denis Diderot advocates for a realist art and literature that can create the illusion of a close relationship between the work of art and the reader/beholder. Focusing on the 18thcentury English writer Henry Fielding, this paper provides a close reading of selected scenes from the novel Tom Jones, arguing that Fielding created his own tableaux of contemplation. These instances are metafictional moments in which the narrator interrupts the narrative to converse with the reader about an event or a character in the novel. Often, they contain references to classical art and are a mix of epic, tragic and comic elements. Fielding's tableaux explicitly present their own fictionality, consulting with the reader about the difference between art and life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Visual analytics and data science are increasingly important in industry for entry-level positions on up. While data analytics classes have been popular as stand-alone classes or as classes within an undergraduate major or minor, particularly majors or minors in computer information systems (CIS), visual analytics topics rarely make their way into required core business classes that include students from all disciplines, not just students majoring in information systems. The contribution of this paper to the practice of information systems education is that it is among the first to include emerging technologies like Tableau in a core business class for all business majors. Such an integration also assists a business school in meeting the accreditation standards established by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), specifically the need to integrate “technology agilityâ€. This research will explore how a visual analytics tool like Tableau can be included in an undergraduate core information systems course. Activity design, with in-class and out-of-class, is described, student reaction to the course is discussed, and suggestions for future inclusion in core business classes are offered. Healthcare industries generate enormous amount of data, so called big data that accommodates hidden knowledge or pattern for decision making. The huge volume of data is used to make decision which is more accurate than intuition. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) detects mistakes, finds appropriate data, checks assumptions and determines the correlation among the explanatory variables. In the context, EDA is considered as analysing data that excludes inferences and statistical modelling. Analytics is an essential technique for any profession as it forecast the future and hidden pattern. Data analytics is considered as a cost effective technology in the recent past and it plays an essential role in healthcare which includes new research findings, emergency situations and outbreaks of disease. The use of analytics in healthcare improves care by facilitating preventive care and EDA is a vital step while analysing data. In this paper, the risk factors that causes heart disease is considered and predicted using K-means algorithm and the analysis is carried out using a publicly available data for heart disease. The dataset holds 209 records with 8 attributes such as age, chest pain type, blood pressure, blood glucose level, ECG in rest, heart rate and four types of chest pain. To predict the heart disease, K-means clustering algorithm is used along with data analytics and visualization tool. The paper discusses the pre-processing methods, classifier performances and evaluation metrics. In the result section, the visualized data shows that the prediction is accurate. Temporal logic has become essential for various areas in computer science, most notably for the specification and verification of hardware and software systems. For the specification purposes rich temporal languages are required that, in particular, can express fairness constraints. For linear-time logics which deal with fairness in the linear-time setting, one-pass and two-pass tableau methods have been developed. In the repository of the CTL-type branching-time setting, the well-known logics ECTL and ECT L + were developed to explicitly deal with fairness. However, due to the syntactical restrictions, these logics can only express restricted versions of fairness. The logic CT L ⋆ , often considered as 'the full branching-time logic' overcomes these restrictions on expressing fairness. However, CT L ⋆ is extremely challenging for the application of verification techniques, and the tableau technique, in particular. For example, there is no one-pass tableau construction for CT L ⋆ , while one-pass tableau has an additional benefit enabling the formulation of dual sequent calculi that are often treated as more 'natural' being more friendly for human understanding. These two considerations lead to the following problem - are there logics that have richer expressiveness than ECT L + , allowing the formulation of a new range of fairness constraints with 'until' operator, yet 'simpler' than CT L ⋆ , and for which a one-pass tableau can be developed? Here we give a positive answer to this question, introducing a sub-logic of CT L ⋆ called ECT L # , its tree-style one-pass tableau, and an algorithm for obtaining a systematic tableau, for any given admissible branching-time formulae. We prove the termination, soundness and completeness of the method. As tree-shaped one-pass tableaux are well suited for the automation and are amenable for the implementation and for the formulation of sequent calculi. Our results also open a prospect of relevant developments of the automation and implementation of the tableau method for ECT L # , and of a dual sequent calculi. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This case introduces students to visualizing accounting data in Tableau. In it, students import data, conduct basic data cleaning, answer client queries, and create visualizations, including dashboards and storyboards. From the case, students learn basic data cleaning and visualization skills. In its final phase, they also learn critical thinking skills from analyzing a business case and creating a dashboard and storyboard to support business decision making. They experience first-hand the exciting processes of understanding, performing, and communicating professional data analytics work. Undergraduate or graduate accounting students who have completed an introductory accounting class will benefit from the case. Evidence from applications suggests that the case is relevant, interesting, and useful for the goal of teaching introductory data visualization skills, using Tableau, to accounting students. The case is easy to implement, authentic, engaging, and a timely instructional resource for accounting instructors and students. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper introduces the concept of tableau as articulated by film history and theory, with examples from the films of Roy Andersson, Jean-Luc Godard and Lars von Trier. A lesser known tradition, the bonnet view originates from Kelly Reichardt’s western Meek’s Cutoff which set out to tell the story from “the point of view of the woman who pours John Wayne’s coffee.” By replacing generic conventions, notably the customary widescreen with a square-like image, Meek’s Cutoff conveys the visual and social restrictions signified by women’s bonnets. The bonnet view is further traced in the tableaus of TV-series Handmaid’s Tale and other cinematic portrayals of women’s history ( Jessica Hausner's Amor Fou and Carl Th. Dreyer’s The Day of Wrath), exploring its potential as a vehicle of the female gaze. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Every day there are millions of opportunities to improve people’s lives by making better use of data. In the digital era, harnessing data can be the difference between staying ahead or falling behind. Most organizations are investing millions of dollars into digital transformation efforts, and yet, the majority of these initiatives are failing. Why? Because organizations are failing to create a Data Culture — the behaviors and mindsets that empower people to innovate and drive change with data. A growing number of enterprises are recognizing that turning data into information, knowledge, and insights requires a data culture. Data culture encompasses values, behaviors, and attitudes of executives and employees that promote and enable use of relevant data as the driving force of decision making. Tableau Software products are transforming the way people use data to solve problems. They make analyzing data fast and easy, beautiful and useful. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The option of entering a good university is multiple and strategic. Some famous world university ranking reports are published and discussed; however, there is some information hidden. We compared two case universities in Taiwan with other national and private universities of science and technology to evaluate institutional performance between public and private universities. We also detected the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the two case universities according to the indicators of the Times Higher Education and Ministry of Education (MOE). We used Tableau software in order to transfer information from the MOE database to visual dashboards. The findings show that the national university is good at teaching and had more international teachers, whereas the private university is superior in international outlook, research and industry income. The weakness of the two universities is that the staff-to-student ratio is too high compared to other universities. Because of the shortage of Ph. D. students, the research of the national case university is less. Following the new south-bound policy of the government, both cases have the opportunity to improve their international outlook. With respect to threat, both universities faced the problem of fewer students, especially the private university. This analysis can provide useful insights to the policy makers to improve institutional administration and attract staff and students with more potential in future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A historical drama that can be interpreted at the juncture of theoretical discourses (heritage film, auteur film), genres (historical film, western, road movie) and representational modes (connecting to, but subverting the master narrative of Romanian historical cinema), Radu Jude’s Aferim! (2015) has attracted the attention of the international public by the unique response that it gives to the tradition of representation of the (Romanian) historical past. Its unmatched character even within New Romanian Cinema can be attributed to the fact that it does not focus on tensions of the post-communist condition or their antecedents in the recent communist past; instead, it goes back in history to a much earlier period, to the Romanian ancien régime, after the Ottoman occupation and before the abolition of Gypsy slavery, only to point at the historical roots of current social problems. Through its ingenuous (inter)medial solutions (black-and-white film, with an implied media-archaeological purport; period mise en scène but with an assumed artificiality and constructedness; a simple linear plot infused with a dense dialogue in archaic Romanian, drawn from a multitude of literary and historical sources; a sweeping panorama of 19th-century Wallachian society presented in a succession of tableau compositions), Radu Jude’s ironical-critical collage defetishizes the traditional historical iconography and debunks the mythical national imaginary, unveiling the traumatic history of an ethnic and racial mix.1

One of the activities to be carried out is the preparation of registration reports on registration in the country, foreign trade report and regional report that is carried out in order to inform how the sector is and from this look for opportunities and make decisions. The reports are made through programs such as Excel and Word, generating little aesthetics and professionalism when publishing said reports, which is why the way to prepare the reports in a more neat, aesthetic and professional manner is evaluated to attract confidence in the readers and professionalism as a company positioned in the country. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov subtitled Sadko “an Opera-Bylina,” a gesture which both reveals his compositional approach, and gives the piece a sui generis designation as an operatic and folk-epic hybrid. The composer drew from an extraordinary range of textual and musical material to fashion Sadko, a work that is thoroughly imbued with references to Russian folk culture. His primary source texts were the Russian byliny: folk-epic poetry that had circulated orally for some seven centuries before being collected and transcribed in the nineteenth century. While Rimsky-Korsakov’s preoccupation with folklore represents a thematic continuation of his prior operas, his approach to his source material takes a decidedly antiquarian and philological turn in Sadko.Rimsky-Korsakov’s transmutation of the byliny into operatic form involved his development of a set of narrative strategies that approximate the storytelling conventions of the source texts. Rimsky-Korsakov includes multiple narrators in the opera who present Sadko’s tale through different narrative frames, chronotopes, and musical idioms. The arias of each narrator constitute moments of heightened narrativity, in which the events of the plot are condensed, refracted, retold, and foretold through the prism of diegetic song. The diegetic passages, though generally critiqued as moments of stasis in the dramatic action of the opera, are in fact the active fulcra of the narrative, foretelling, even generating, its subsequent events as well as offering retrospective viewpoints on prior events from alternate narrative perspectives. The diegetic songs communicate implicit details about the narrators’ respective positions in the social strata, and their underlying alliances with other characters. Sadko not only tells the story of the eponymous hero, but foregrounds the mechanisms, modalities, and multidimensionality of telling itself.

In a few of his 1904–6 pragmaticist formulations of the pragmatic maxim, Peirce instructs us to look not only at the consequences of affirming some claim or concept, but also at the consequences of denying it. While Peirce isn't forthcoming about why he includes the consequences of denying claims, I argue that this inclusion is important, indeed prescient, and also under-appreciated. Specifically, after aligning these later formulations of the pragmatic maxim with bilateral tableau systems of logical proof, I show how they serve to defuse an objection that Brandom has raised against the semantic project of the classical pragmatists, namely, that it subscribes to an insufficiently one-sided view of meaning. I close by showing how Peirce's bilateral expressions of the pragmatic maxim also align with his existential graphs, suggesting that these expressions could well have been key to his attempt to provide a formal demonstration of pragmatism's correctness. LOGIC , *FAIRNESS , *TIME , *TRUTH - Abstract
In this paper we study sublogics of RoCTL*, a recently proposed logic for specifying robustness. RoCTL* allows specifying robustness in terms of properties that are robust to a certain number of failures. RoCTL* is an extension of the branching time logic CTL* which in turn extends CTL by removing the requirement that temporal operators be paired with path quantifiers. In this paper we consider three sublogics of RoCTL*. We present a tableau for RoBCTL*, a bundled variant of RoCTL* that allows fairness constraints to be placed on allowable paths. We then examine two CTL-like restrictions of CTL*. Pair-RoCTL* requires a temporal operator to be paired with a path quantifier; we show that Pair-RoCTL* is as hard to reason about as the full CTL*. State-RoCTL* is restricted to State formulas, and we show that there is a linear truth preserving translation of State-RoCTL into CTL, allowing State-RoCTL to be reasoned about as efficiently as CTL. - Abstract
The paper surveys two modes of representation present in contemporary Hungarian and Romanian cinema, namely magic realism and minimalist realism, as two ways of rendering the "real" in the Central Eastern European geo-cultural context. New Hungarian Film tends to display narratives that share the features of what is generally assumed as being magic realist, accompanied by a high degree of stylization, while New Romanian Cinema is more attracted to creating austere, microrealistic universes. The paper argues that albeit apparently being forking modes of representation that traverse distinct routes, magic realism and minimalist realism share a set of common elements and, what this study especially focuses on, converge in the preference for the tableau aesthetic. The paper examines the role of tableau compositions and tableaux vivants in representative films of the Young Hungarian Film and the Romanian New Wave, namely Szabolcs Hajdu's Bibliothèque Pascal (2010) and Cristian Mungiu's Beyond the Hills (Dupã dealuri, 2012). An excessive use of the tableau can be detected in both films, with many thematic connections, in subtle interwovenness with female identity and corporeality performed as a site of traumatic experiences, upon which (institutional, colonial) power relations are reinscribed. The tableau as a figuration of intermediality performs the tension between the sensation of the "real" and its reframed image, and proves especially suitable for mediating between low-key realism and highly stylized forms. When modeling real-world domains, we have to deal with information that is incomplete or that comes from sources with different trust levels. This motivates the need for managing uncertainty in the Semantic Web. To this purpose, we introduced a probabilistic semantics, named DISPONTE, in order to combine description logics (DLs) with probability theory. The probability of a query can be then computed from the set of its explanations by building a Binary Decision Diagram (BDD). The set of explanations can be found using the tableau algorithm , which has to handle non-determinism. Prolog, with its efficient handling of non-determinism, is suitable for implementing the tableau algorithm. TRILL and TRILL
P are systems offering a Prolog implementation of the tableau algorithm. TRILLP builds a pinpointing formula that compactly represents the set of explanations and can be directly translated into a BDD. Both reasoners were shown to outperform state-of-the-art DL reasoners. In this paper, we present an improvement of TRILLP , named TORNADO, in which the BDD is directly built during the construction of the tableau, further speeding up the overall inference process. An experimental comparison shows the effectiveness of TORNADO. All systems can be tried online in the TRILL on SWISH web application at http://trill.ml.unife.it/. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

BUSINESS intelligence ,DATA analysis - Abstract
Business Intelligence Tools (BI Tools) can be an intelligent way for individuals to undertake data analysis and reporting for guiding decision-making processes. There are many different BI Tools available in the market today, as well as information to assist organisations in evaluating their effectiveness. This paper focusses on two commercially available BI Tools: Tableau and Microsoft Power BI. It aims to determine which BI Tool is better for data analysis and reporting from an end user's point of view. This paper undertakes an evaluation of both tools and compares which is more suitable for students using interface (navigation), cost, presence in the market, and available training and help as the evaluative criteria. Results produced in this paper found that overall, Tableau was more highly ranked than Power BI based on the evaluative criteria for end users for data analysis and reporting at least among the samples of the study. Tableau ranked higher than Power BI with its presence in the market, and available training and help. Power BI was rated more highly on its interface and both BI Tools were ranked the same in terms of cost to end users. This research is exploratory and may assist in formulating future research on BI Tools for specific user groups. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article examines the relationship between posture and performance in Shaw's 1892 drama Widowers' Houses. It begins by outlining the distinctly legible melodramatic style so popular in the earlier nineteenth century, before placing Shaw's flexible and equivocal characters in the context of the "rigid moral distinctions" Michael Booth identifies in English Melodrama as central to the melodramatic genre. It then demonstrates how Shaw manipulates these well-worn conventions in Widowers' Houses ; in so doing, this article argues, Shaw establishes new postures of flexibility, which in turn facilitate new styles of villainy. This paper proves a combinatorial rule expressing the product sτ(sλ/μ∘pr) of a Schur function and the plethysm of a skew Schur function with a power-sum symmetric function as an integral linear combination of Schur functions. This generalizes the SXP rule for the plethysm sλ∘pr. Each step in the proof uses either an explicit bijection or a sign-reversing involution. The proof is inspired by an earlier proof of the SXP rule due to Remmel and Shimozono (Discrete Math. 193:257-266, 1998). The connections with two later combinatorial rules for special cases of this plethysm are discussed. Two open problems are raised. The paper is intended to be readable by non-experts.
