Abstract

Let $\mathcal{U}(n,k)$ and $\Gamma(n,k)$ be the set of the $k$-uniform linear and nonlinear unicyclic hypergraphs having perfect matchings with $n$ vertices respectively, where $n\geq k(k-1)$ and $k\geq 3$. By using some techniques of transformations and constructing the incidence matrices for the hypergraphs considered, we get the hypergraphs with the maximal spectral radii among three kinds of hypergraphs, namely $\mathcal{U}(n,k)$ with $n= 2k(k-1)$ and $n\geq 9k(k-1)$, $\Gamma(n,k)$ with $n\geq k(k-1)$, and $\mathcal{U}(n,k)\cup \Gamma(n,k)$ with $n\geq 2k(k-1)$, where $k\geq 3$.

Abstract

Let $\mathbb{Q}_{k,n}$ be the set of the connected $k$-uniform weighted hypergraphs with $n$ vertices, where $k,n\geq 3$. For a hypergraph $G\in \mathbb{Q}_{k,n}$, let $\mathcal{A}(G)$, $\mathcal{L} (G)$ and $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ be its adjacency tensor, Laplacian tensor and signless Laplacian tensor, respectively. The spectral radii of $\mathcal{A}(G)$ and $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ are investigated. Some basic properties of the $H$-eigenvalue, the $H^{+}$-eigenvalue and the $H^{++}$-eigenvalue of $\mathcal{A}(G)$, $\mathcal{L} (G)$ and $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ are presented. Several lower and upper bounds of the $H$-eigenvalue, the $H^{+}$-eigenvalue and the $H^{++}$-eigenvalue for $\mathcal{A}(G)$, $\mathcal{L} (G)$ and $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ are established. The largest $H^{+}$-eigenvalue of $\mathcal{L} (G)$ and the smallest $H^{+}$-eigenvalue of $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ are characterized. A relationship among the $H$-eigenvalues of $\mathcal{L} (G)$, $\mathcal{Q} (G)$ and $\mathcal{A} (G)$ is also given.

111. Four-Family ${\cal N}=1$ Supersymmetric Pati-Salam Models from Intersecting D6-Branes

Abstract

We investigate the construction of four-family ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric Pati-Salam models from Type IIA $\mathbb{T}^6/(\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathbb{Z}_2)$ orientifold with intersecting D6-branes. Utilizing the deterministic algorithm introduced in Ref. \cite{heCompleteSearchSupersymmetric2021}, we obtain $274$ types of models with three rectangular tori and distinct gauge coupling relations at string scale, while $6$ types of models with two rectangular tori and one titled torus. In both cases, there exists a class of models with gauge coupling unification at string scale. In particular, for the models with two rectangular tori, one tilted torus and gauge coupling unification, the gaugino condensations are allowed, and thus supersymmetry breaking and moduli stabilization are possible for further phenomenological study., Comment: reference added

144. Quality Evaluation and Classification of Waxy Wheat Varieties by Principal Component Analysis

Abstract

The overall quality differences among different waxy wheat varieties was studied. Totally 17 waxy wheat varieties approved in China in the past decade and common wheat (hard, mixed and soft) were analyzed for hardness index, dough rheological properties and pasting properties. Comprehensive quality evaluation and classification were carried out by principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA). The results showed that grain hardness index significantly differed among waxy wheat varieties and ranged from 25.2 to 73.82. The proportion of the hard type was 41.18%, the average hardness index was 63.07, with a coefficient of variation of 11.20%. The proportions of the mixed and soft types were both 29.41%. Compared with ordinary wheat flour, waxy wheat flour had a higher protein content (14.78%) and a lower amylose content (1.01%), indicating better processing characteristics. In addition, waxy wheat flour had a high water-absorbing rate (71.1%), good extensibility (157.7 mm), and short gelatinization time (3.59 min), and low setback (290 cP). The results of PCA showed that average particle size of starch granules, volume proportion of type A (≥10 μm) starch granules, final viscosity, setback, and trough viscosity were the major factors affecting the quality difference between soft and hard-type waxy wheat, while gelatinization characteristics, protein content, maximum tensile resistance and starch content were the major factors affecting the quality difference of mixed waxy wheat. The 17 waxy wheat varieties were clustered into three categories by cluster analysis (CA), cluster-I including three varieties of soft and mixed-type wheat with the highest comprehensive score, cluster-II including six hard-type waxy wheat varieties, and cluster-III including eight waxy wheat varieties with low protein content and gelatinization characteristics. This study provides a basis for the quality evaluation, classification and core quality indicator determination of different waxy wheat varieties.

Abstract

During operation， hydraulic turbines are continuously subjected to long-term impact from sediment-laden water flows.The combined damage from sediment erosion and cavitationerosion significantly impairs the flow components，compromising the safe and stable operation of the unit.Surface protection of the flow components by means of high-elastic polymer coatings is an economical and practical strategy.In this paper，firstly， the anti-cavitation protective polymer coatings on the surfaces of flow components were reviewed， especially research progress on polyurethane and epoxy resin coatings.Considering the important influence of the erosive and abrasive effects of sediment-laden water flows in the damage of hydraulic turbines，the research progress of polymer/ceramic composite coatings in the synergistic resistance to cavitation and erosion was reviewed； finally， the problems of polymer coatings in the protection of hydraulic turbine flow components were described.

146. The Complete Search for the Supersymmetric Pati-Salam Models from Intersecting D6-Branes

Abstract

We construct a systematic method to build all the possible three-family ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric Pati-Salam models from Type IIA orientifolds on $\mathbb{T}^6/(\mathbb{Z}_2\times \mathbb{Z}_2)$ with intersecting D6-branes, in which the $SU(4)_C\times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R $ gauge symmetry can be broken down to the $SU(3)_C \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$ Standard Model gauge symmetry by the D-brane splitting and supersymmetry preserving Higgs mechanism. This is essentially achieved by solving all the common solutions for the RR tadpole cancellation conditions, ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetry conditions, and three generation conditions with deterministic algorithm. We find that there are $202752$ possible supersymmetric Pati-Salam models in total, and show that there are only $33$ independent models with different gauge coupling relations at string scale after modding out equivalent relations, such as T-dualities, etc. In particular, there is one and only one independent model which has gauge coupling unification. Abstract

All the possible three-family ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric Pati-Salam models constructed with intersecting D6-branes from Type IIA orientifolds on $T^6/(\mathbb{Z}_2\times \mathbb{Z}_2)$ are recently presented in arXiv: 2112.09632. Taking models with largest wrapping number $5$ and approximate gauge coupling unification at GUT scale as examples, we show string scale gauge coupling unification can be realized through two-loop renormalization group equation running by introducing seven pairs of vector-like particles from ${\cal N}=2$ sector. The number of these introduced vector-like particles are fully determined by the brane intersection numbers while there are two D6-brane parallel to each other along one two-torus. We expect this will solve the gauge coupling unification problem in the generic intersecting brane worlds by introducing vector-like particles that naturally included in the ${\cal N}=2$ sector., Comment: 3 figures

Abstract

In this paper, we present a combined experimental and theoretical study that explored the initial sticking of water on cooled surfaces. Specifically, these ultra-high vacuum gas–surface scattering experiments utilized supersonic molecular beam techniques in conjunction with a cryogenically cooled highly oriented pyrolytic graphite crystal, giving control over incident kinematic conditions. The D2O translational energy spanning 300–750 meV, the relative D2O flux, and the incident angle could all be varied independently. Three different experimental measurements were made. One involved measuring the total amount of D2O scattering as a function of surface temperature to determine the onset of sticking under non-equilibrium gas–surface collision conditions. Another measurement used He specular scattering to assess structural and coverage information for the interface during D2O adsorption. Finally, we used time-of-flight (TOF) measurements of the scattered D2O to determine how energy is exchanged with the graphite surface at surface temperatures above and near the conditions needed for gaseous condensation. For comparison and elaboration of the roles that internal degrees of freedom play in this process, we also did similar TOF measurements using another mass 20 incident particle, atomic neon. Enriching this study are precise molecular dynamics simulations that elaborate on gas–surface energy transfer and the roles of molecular degrees of freedom in gas–surface collisional energy exchange processes. This study furthers our fundamental understanding of energy exchange and the onset of sticking and ultimately gaseous condensation for gas–surface encounters occurring under high-velocity flows.
