In order to deal with the vibration problem about a power machinery installed in a cylinder, the multidimensional coupled vibration transfer model which consists of complex excitations, inclined elastic isolators, and a circular cylindrical shell foundation is established. Based on the Goldenveizer-Novozhilov thin shell theory and modal superposition principle, the coupled vibration transfer equation of the overall system is derived by using the substructure mobility approach. The power flow concept is used to assess vibration transfer characteristics and isolation performances as a cost function. Numerical simulation shows that: with consideration of the distributed parameter characteristic of isolators, the system power spectrum decline slower at higher frequencies resulting in an unreliable design of high-frequency vibration isolation. Interestingly, if increasing the inclined angle of isolators appropriately, one can make each rigid mode of the system gathered in a narrow frequency range. Meanwhile, the power transmitted to the shell is less than the vertical mounted case, which leads to a better isolation performance. One new polyhydroxylated steroid, caerulsteroid A (1), along with nine known analogues (2–10), was isolated from the gorgonian coral Anthogorgia caerulea collected from the South China Sea. The structure of the new compound was elucidated by 1-D and 2-D NMR, and mass spectrometry. The absolute configuration of 1 was assigned on the basis of the absolute configurations of the related congeners 2 and 3, which were determined by application of the modified Mosher's method. Poling of multilayer Pb(Zr0.3Ti0.7)O3/PbTiO3 thin films has been studied. Poling temperature and electrical field are optimised to achieve a high pyroelectric coefficient. The pyroelectric coefficient is found to saturate when a sufficient high poling electric field (∼350 kV/cm) is applied at room temperature. Further improvement of the pyroelectric properties is achieved with the increasing of poling temperature (up to 180 °C). Pyroelectric coefficient of the poled PZT/PT film (at 350 kV/cm, 180 °C) is measured using a modified Byer–Roundy method to be 250 μC/m2 K. Compared with the pure Pb(Zr0.3Ti0.7)O3 thin film, the multilayer PZT/PT thin film has a lower pyroelectric coefficient, however, its dielectric constant and dielectric loss are reduced. Thus the multilayer PZT/PT film has higher figures of merit for pyroelectric application. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

A circularly polarized antenna realized by a power divider fed cavity backed slot antenna is presented in this article.The cavity backed slot antenna is constructed on a single layer substrate by using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technique. A T-junction power divider with equal magnitude and 90° phase difference outputs is adopted as the parallel feed to excite the SIW backed cavity. Circularly polarized radiation can be generated when two orthogonal cavity modes are excited simultaneously in the backed cavity. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Objective: To systematically review and evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) therapy for epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor (EGFRI)-induced skin rash in patients with malignancy.Methods: The electronic databases of Medline, PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Chinese Sci-tech Journal, Wan Fang, and Chinese Biomedicine were searched from their inception to 31 st September 2018. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effectiveness of CHM in improving EGFRI-induced skin rash were analyzed by Review Manager 5.3.Results: Twenty-three eligible RCTs with 1392 participants were identified and divided into four subgroups according to different treatment rules of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and different controls. CHM (dispel wind, clear heat, and eliminate dampness), the representative formula Xiao Feng San, is more effective than western medicine in improving and curing skin rash(RR,95%CI: 1.46,1.26-1.70 and 1.65,1.24-2.20); CHM (nourish yin, clear heat, and remove toxin for eliminating blood stasis), the representative formula Yang Fei Xiao Zhen Tang, is more effective than western medicine in improving skin rash(RR,95%CI: 1.45,1.10-1.92). CHM (clear lung and purge heat, cool blood, and remove toxic substance) is more effective in improving and curing skin rash, compared with the western medicine group (RR,95%CI: 1.42,1.21-1.67 and 2.43,1.23-4.81) or the blank control group(RR,95%CI:2.37,1.21-4.63 and 2.98,1.20-7.41). The side effects of CHM are all mild and tolerable. Sensitivity analysis indicates that the results of the study are stable. The asymmetry funnel plots described that publication bias of this research may exist.Conclusion: The limited evidence suggests that CHM exhibits clinical effectiveness and good safety on the treatment of EGFRI-induced skin rash. Background: The application of laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) has expanded rapidly in recent decades. Although multiple authors have reported LLR shows improved safety and efficacy in treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) compared with open liver resection (OLR), laparoscopic (LMLR) and open (OMLR) major liver resections for HCC treatment remain inadequately evaluated. This work aimed to test the hypothesis that LMLR is safer and more effective than OMLR for HCC.Methods: Comparative cohort and registry studies on LMLR and OMLR, searched in PubMed, the Science Citation Index, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library, and published before March 31, 2018, were collected systematically and meta-analyzed. Fixed- and random-effects models were employed for generating pooled estimates. Heterogeneity was assessed by the Q-statistic.Results: Nine studies (1173 patients) were included. Although the pooled data showed operation time was markedly increased for LMLR in comparison with OMLR (weighted mean difference [WMD] 74.1, 95% CI 35.1 to 113.1, P = 0.0002), blood loss was reduced (WMD = - 107.4, 95% CI - 179.0 to - 35.7, P = 0.003), postoperative morbidity was lower (odds ratio [OR] 0.47, 95% CI 0.35 to 0.63, P <  0.0001), and hospital stay was shorter (WMD = - 3.27, 95% CI - 4.72 to - 1.81, P <  0.0001) in the LMLR group. Although 1-year disease-free survival (DFS) was increased in patients administered LMLR (OR = 1.55, 95% CI 1.04 to 2.31, P = 0.03), other 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival outcomes (overall survival [OS] and/or DFS) were comparable in both groups.Conclusions: Compared with OMLR, LMLR has short-term clinical advantages, including reduced blood loss, lower postsurgical morbidity, and shorter hospital stay in HCC, despite its longer operative time. We investigated methods for accelerating the e-beam writing by minimizing the exposure time of the resist. We write on positive resist ZEP of 400 nm thick, keep a high voltage of 100 kV to maintain the high resolution of each dot, and a low dot map of 20 k to reduce the number of the dots. We vary the current, dose and resist development time, to write 510, 210, 120 or 60 nm sized nanosquare or nanoslit arrays. The time durations for resist exposure and beam settling for each kind of patterns are calculated separately, and quality and deformation of each pattern are analyzed by scanning electron microscope images. The 510 to 120 nm sized patterns written by 0.8 nA with 178 μC/cm 2 dose and 3 min development yield comparable quality to the ones written by 0.2 nA with 320 μC/cm 2 and 30 s development, while the exposure time is reduced to 14%. Because e-beam writing time for one-dimensional nanoslits mainly spends on resist exposure, this acceleration is more prominent for nanoslits than two-dimensional nanosquares. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, we propose a junctionless MOSFET with asymmetric gates (AG-JL MOSFET). This device is a double gate structure with a lateral offset between the gate, and this leads to different characteristic than a conventional double gate structure. Specifically, the asymmetric gate modulates the effective channel length depending on whether the device is in the ON or OFF state, which this leads to more ideal device characteristics. A comprehensive device performance comparison including the I ON /I OFF ratio, subthreshold slope (SS), and drain-induced barrier lowering (DIBL) between the proposed device and a conventional device is presented. Correlations are concerned for modeling of CMOS devices and circuits variability when using back propagation of variations (BPV) methodology in the paper. Strong reverse correlations are observed and investigated between variation parameters, particularly for threshold voltage ( V T ), total gate capacitance ( C gg ) and trans-conductance ( g m ), on gate voltage dependence due to random dopant fluctuation (RDF) in nanometer MOSFETs. These correlations are verified both in theoretical and simulation approaches. Based on these correlations, a simple and accurate analytical model for capturing f T variability is proposed. The model is in good agreement with HSPICE Monte Carlo simulations in different design decisions such as effective width length ratios, source voltages and doping concentrations. Results show the estimation errors are not more than −2.33% and 1.30% for NMOS and PMOS, respectively.
