Kendisine güven duyan kişilerin hem eğitim hem de iş hayatlarında başarılı oldukları genel kabul gören bir görüştür. Bu konu özellikle meslek hayatına hazırlanan ve piyasada ara eleman olarak istihdam edilecek meslek yüksekokulu öğrencilerinde daha da önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada da Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin kendilerine güven duydukları konuların belirlenmesi ve özgüven seviyelerinin ölçülmesi, özgüven seviyesi farklı olan öğrencilerin, başarı düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olup olmadığı incelenecektir. Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin ara eleman olarak çalışma hayatına hızlı giriş yapma olasılıkları, elde edilecek bulguların hayata geçirebilir olması, benzer çalışmaların azlığı, araştırmayı önemli kılmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, özgüven seviyeleri arasındaki farklılığın başarıya olan etkisini ölçmek, şayet anlamlı bir farklılık elde edilirse, yüksekokullardaki ders içeriklerini, eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerini, sosyal aktiviteleri incelemek, öğrencilerin özgüven seviyelerini artırıcı önerilerde bulunmaktır. Çalışmanın tekniği, nicel yöntem kullanılması şeklinde gerçekleşmiştir. Nicel teknik olarak, toplam öğrenci sayısına göre belirlenecek örnekleme üzerinde anket metodu uygulanmış, anket formunda Piers ve Harris Özgüven Ölçeği (1964) – (Türkçe uyarlama Öner, 1996) kullanılmıştır. Veriler arasında ilişkinin var olup olmadığına bakmak için korelasyon analizi, ilişki varsa yönü ve gücüne bakmak için regresyon analizi gibi istatistiki analiz yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır., According to the results from the studies, general thought is that selfconfident people are successful both in education life and business life. In this study, the determining of the topics that the students of vocational school of higher education are interested in, the measuring of their levels of self-confidence, and whether there is a significant difference among the students whose self-confidence levels are different are going to be analyzed. The possibility that the students of vocational school begin working life, the actuality of the data, and the lack of counterpart studies make this research important. The aim of this study is to measure difference between the level of selfconfidence and the success, and if there is a significant difference, it also aims to analyze the content of the lessons, educational and social activities in higher education, and to make suggestions that can raise students’ self-confidence. All the students of vocational school of higher education comprise the universe of the study. The technique of the study is going to be the use of quantitative methods together. As quantitative method, the questionnaire method is going to be applied on the sample which is going to be determined according to the total students’ number. In the questionnaire, Piers and Harris Self-Confidence Scale (1964) – (Turkish version Öner, 1996) is going to be used. Statistical analysis methods such as correlation analysis to look for the existence of the relationship between the data, regression analysis to look at the relationship and direction of power were used.

Amaç: Toxoplasma gondii dünya üzerinde pek çok canlı türünü enfekte eden ve insanlarda özellikleimmun sistemi baskılanmış hastalarda ölümle sonuçlanabilecek klinik tablolarayol açan bir protozoondur. Kanser hastalarında uygulanan kemoterapi veradyoterapi hem hücresel hem de humoral immun sistemi bozarak latent durumdabulunan T. gondii' ninreaktivasyonuna yol açmaktadır. Çalışmamızda, Sivas Cumhuriyet ÜniversitesiSağlık Hizmetleri Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesine başvuran ve kanser tedavisigören hastalarda T. gondiiseroprevalansının ELISA yöntemi ile belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Yöntem: Çalışma, Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi SağlıkHizmetleri Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesi Radyasyon Onkolojisi Polikliniğinebaşvuran, 18-80 yaş aralığında hastalar üzerinde yapılmış ve örneklem sayısı,100 kemoterapi alan kanser hastası ve 100 sağlıklı kontrol grubu kişidenoluşturulmuştur. Bu kişilerden alınan kan örneklerinde Toxoplasma IgG ve IgM antikorları ELISA yöntemi ilearaştırılmıştır.Bulgular: Çalışmamızda,Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Sağlık Hizmetleri Uygulama ve Araştırma Hastanesindekemoterapi alan 100 kanserli hastanın 60’ında (%60.0) IgG pozitifliği saptanmışolup, kontrol grubunun 27’sinde (%27.0) pozitiflik görülmüştür. Aralarındakifarklılık önemli bulunmuştur. Çalışmaya alınan kanser hastaları başlıca;akciğer, meme, mide, kolon, over kanserlerinden oluşmaktadır. Kanserlihastalarla kontrol grubunun her ikisinde de bir kişide (%1.0) IgM pozitifliğisaptanmış olup gruplar arası farklılık önemsiz bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Bağışıklıksistemi baskılanmış kanser hastalarında, bağışıklık sistemi normal olan bireylerdedaha nadir görülen toksoplazmoz gibi fırsatçı infeksiyonlara daha sıkrastlanmaktadır. Bu kişiler hem enfeksiyonlara daha yatkındır hem de daha öncegeçirilmiş olan toksoplazmozun reaktivasyon riski bu hastalarda daha yüksektir.Bu nedenle; bu hastaların belirli periyotlarla Toxoplasma açısındandeğerlendirilmeleri uygun olacaktır., Objective: Toxoplasma gondii is aprotozoon infecting many living species in the world and causing clinicalpictures that can end with death in humans, especially in patients with bluntedimmune system. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy administrations in cancer patientscause the reactivation of latent T. gondii by impairing both cellular andhumoral immune system. The purpose of this study is to determine theseroprevalences of anti-Toxoplasma IgG and IgM antibodies in patients who haveapplied to and received cancer treatment in the Health Services Research andApplication Hospital of Cumhuriyet University in SivasMethod: The study was conducted on thepatients aged between 18-80, who applied to the Radiation Oncology Polyclinicin the Health Services Research and Application Hospital of CumhuriyetUniversity and the sample consisted of 100 cancer patients receiving chemotherapyand 100 healthy people in the control group. Anti-Toxoplasma IgG andanti-Toxoplasma IgM antibodies were analyzed with the ELISA method in the bloodsamples taken from this peoples.Results: In our study, IgG positivity wasdetermined in 60 (60.0%) of the 100 cancer patients receiving chemotherapy inthe Health Services Research and Application Hospital of Cumhuriyet Universityand 27 (27.0%) of the control group. The difference between the groups wasfound to be significant. Cancer patients included in the study consisted ofespecially lung cancer, breast cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer and ovariancancer patients. Evaluating the professional statuses of the 100 cancerpatients included in the study, 40 of the patients were determined to be housewivesand 36 patients were determined to be retired. The habit of feeding cats wasdetermined to be 30.9% in the same patient group with the survey conducted.Furthermore, 66% of the patients stated that they consumed raw meat. It wasdetermined that none of the patients received an organ transplant. IgMpositivity (1.0%) was determined in one individual in both the cancer patientsand the control group, and the difference between the groups was found to beinsignificant. Conclusions: Opportunistic infections liketoxoplasmosis are more frequent in cancer patients with the blunted immunesystem compared to individuals with the normal immune systems. Theseindividuals are more prone to infections and the risk of the reactivation oftoxoplasmosis experienced before is higher in these patients. Therefore, itwill be appropriate for these patients to be periodically evaluated in terms ofToxoplasma.

Bu durum çalışmasının amacı İnglizceyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenen öğrencilerin dinleme, konuşma ve sesletimlerinigeliştirmek için podkast kullanımına dair deneyimlerini araştırmayıamaçlamaktadır. Katılımcılar (S=8) bir akademik yıl boyunca ilgi duyduklarıgeniş bir yelpazede podkast dinlemişlerdir. Öğrencilerden her haftadinlediklerini bir yuvarlak masa tartışmasında tartışmaları veya sunumyapmalarını istenmiştir. Öğretmen de tartışmalara katılmış ve ders sonunda geribildirimde bulunmuştur. Veri toplamak amacıyla, katılımcılar ile bir odak grupgörüşmesi yapılmış ve görüşme dökümleri Nvivo v10 yazılımı ile üç aşamalı birkodlama yöntemi ile kodlanmış ve analiz edilmiştir. Odak grup görüşmelerininanalizinden elde edilen sonuçlar öğrencilerin podkast dinlemektenhoşlandıklarını; ancak dinledikleri hakkında konuşmayı sevmediklerini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu çalışmada araştırmacı; katılımcıların alışılagelmiş derslerden farklı bir dersin parçası olmalarının onlar için ne anlama geldiğini araştırmakta ve öğrencilerin çalışma alışkanlıklarını değiştirerek onları rahatlık bölgelerinden çıkarmaya çalışmanın anlamını tartışmaktadır., The goal of thiscase study was to explore intermediate EFL learners’ experiences of using shortpodcasts to improve their listening, speaking and pronunciation. Theparticipants (N=8) listened to podcasts about diverse topics of their interestthroughout an academic year. Each week they were instructed to present whatthey listened to in a round-table discussion or in presentations. Theinstructor took part in the discussions as well, providing feedback at the endof each session. For this study, a focus group interview was carried out withthe participants. The focus group interview was transcribed and coded in NVivov10 using a three-phase approach to coding. The analysis of the focus groupinterview revealed that the students were basically fond of listening topodcasts, but not talking about them; they also thought listening to podcastsprovided them with meaningful input and somehow helped improve their listeningand speaking skills. In this study, the researcher explored what it means forthem to be a part of a lesson that is basically different from mainstreamclasses and discuss the implications of getting students to move out of theircomfort zones by changing study habits.

WOS: 000443738600001, PubMed ID: 30632540, Objectives: This study aims to report the assessment of the Turkish League Against Rheumatism (TLAR) expert panel on the compliance and adaptation of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) 2016 recommendations for the management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Turkey. Patients and methods: The EULAR 2016 recommendations for the treatment of RA were voted by 27 specialists experienced in this field with regard to participation rate for each recommendation and significance of items. Afterwards, each recommendation was brought forward for discussion and any alteration gaining >= 70% approval was accepted. Also, Turkish version of each item was rearranged. Last version of the recommendations was then revoted to determine the level of agreement. Levels of agreement of the two voting rounds were compared with Wilcoxon signed-rank test. In case of significant difference, the item with higher level of agreement was accepted. In case of no difference, the changed item was selected. Results: Four overarching principles and 12 recommendations were assessed among which three overarching principles and one recommendation were changed. The changed overarching principles emphasized the importance of physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists as well as rheumatologists for the care of RA patients in Turkey. An alteration was made in the eighth recommendation on treatment of active RA patients with unfavorable prognostic indicators after failure of three conventional disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs. Remaining principles were accepted as the same although some alterations were suggested but could not find adequate support to reach significance. Conclusion: Expert opinion of the TLAR for the treatment of RA was composed for practices in Turkish rheumatology and/or physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics.

Şizofreni hastalarının öykülerinde travmatik yaşam olayları sık görül-mektedir. Bu durum hem hastalığın ortaya çıkışına hem de var olan hastalığın gidişinin kötüleşmesine yol açabilir. Göz Hareketleri ile Duyarsızlaştırma ve Yeniden İşleme (EMDR) travmatik yaşam olaylarının tedavisinde kullanılan etkin bir terapi yöntemidir. 1980’lerde Shapiro tarafından geliştirilmiştir. EMDR birçok Travma Sonrası Stres Bozukluğu (TSSB) hastasının tedavisinde yaygın olarak kullanılmasına rağmen, psikotik bozukluk hastalarında uygulanmasına çok fazla rastlanmamaktadır. Bu makalede çocukluk çağı cinsel istismarı ve travmatik özellikte olabilecek zorunlu psikiyatrik yatış yaşantısı olan bir şizofreni hastasında EMDR ile psikiyatrik yakınmalarının gidişi ve tedavisi tartışılmıştır. 8 yıldır şizofreni bozukluk tanısı olan olguya an-tipsikotik tedavi yanı sıra 2 seans EMDR uygulanmış ve sonuç olarak genel klinik gidişinde olumlu yönde bir değişim gözlenmiştir. Bu ol-guyla ilgili düşüncelerimiz EMDR tedavisinin TSSB ve psikotik bo-zukluk birlikteliğinde etkili, güvenli ve kısa süreli bir müdahale olduğu şeklindedir. Ancak EMDR’nin şizofreni olgularının tedavisindeki yeri ile ilgili literatür oldukça kısıtlıdır ve konuyla ilgili çok daha fazla çalışmaya ihtiyaç vardır., Being exposed to traumatic experiences is rather common in patients with schizophrenia. Adverse experiences may induce the onset of psy-chotic symptoms or trigger current symptoms to be exacerbated. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective ther-apy in the treatment of incidences with underlying traumatic experi-ences, there by it can be conducted on various cases in addition to other treatments such as psycho-medication or another therapy method. It was developed by Shapiro in 1980s. Although desensitization is widely applied on patients with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, it is unusual for EMDR therapy to be safely and effectively performed in the treat-ment of psychotic disorder sor symptoms. In the present case study, EMDR treatment process and course of psychiatric state in a patient with history of child hood abuse and forced psychiatric residency will be discussed. The patient who had a diagnosis of schizophrenia for 8 years was treated with antipsychotic treatment as well as 2 sessions of EMDR, and as a result, a positive change was observed in her general clinical course. Our thoughts on this phenomenon are that EMDR treatment is an effective, safe and short-term intervention in the comorbidity of PTSD and psychotic disorders. However, the literature about the place of EMDR in the treatment of schizophrenia cases is rather limited and much more research is needed.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of five different radiographic methods for the detection of approximal caries on posterior teeth. Materials and Method: Seventy-two extracted posterior teeth with and without caries were studied. Intraoral bitewing radiographs were taken with film and a storage phosphor-plate system. Extraoral panoramic images were obtained by using the bitewing, orthogonal and standard programs of a digital panoramic radiography device. Images were evaluated by two observers. Intra- and inter-observer weighted-kappa coefficients were calculated. Scores obtained from the five techniques were compared against the histological gold standard using receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve analysis. Az values for each image type were compared using z-test and the level of statistical significance was set at 0.05. Sensitivity, specificity and false-positive rates were calculated for each method. Results: Intra- and inter-observer agreement κ values were between 0.59-0.88 and 0.54-0.87, respectively. The Az value was greatest with conventional bitewing (0.760) and phosphor plate bitewing (0.756) and lowest with standard panoramic image program (0.639). In this paper we presented a 25 year old male pris- oner who admitted to hospital with a complaint of atypical chest pain. Chest radiography and contrast-enhanced computed chest to- mography revealed multiple sharp radiopaque foreign bodies as a casue of chest pain which were located at heart, lung and under the diaphragm.

he Akgüney Cu-Pb-Zn deposit is a vein type hydrothermal Cu-Pb-Zn deposit in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. This deposit is hosted by Upper Cretaceous andesitic rocks. The deposit consists of seven veins with varying thicknesses in the investigated area. The primary mineral paragenesis includes pyrite, galena, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, fahlore, quartz and calcite. The ?34S values of sulfide minerals (pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena) range from -0.63 ‰ to 3.02 ‰, with an average of 1.22 ‰. These ?34S values and the calculated ?34SH2S values for H2S dissolved in hydrothermal fluids are suggesting a homogeneous magmatic source. The galena samples have 206Pb/204Pb ratios from 18.533 to 18.745, 207Pb/204Pb ratios from 15.633 to 15.657 and 208Pb/204Pb ratios from 38.710 to 38.772. These values suggest an orogenic source for lead., Akgüney Cu-Pb-Zn yatağı, Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde bulunan bir damar tipi hidrotermal Cu-Pb-Zn yatağıdır. Bu yatak, Üst Kretase yaşlı andezitik kayaçlar içinde bulunur. Yatak çeşitli kalınlıklarda yedi damardan oluşur. Birincil mineral parajenezi pirit, galenit, kalkopirit, sfalerit, fahlerz, kuvars ve kalsit içerir. Sülfürlü minerallerin (pirit, kalkopirit, sfalerit ve galenit) ?34S değerleri -0.63 ‰ ila 3.02 ‰ arasında değişmekte olup ortalama 1.22 ‰’dır. Hidrotermal çözelti içerisindeki H2S’in hesaplanan ?34SH2S değerleri ve sülfürlü minerallerin ?34S değerleri kükürtün kökeninin homojen bir magmatik kaynak olduğunu düşündürmektedir. Galenit örnekleri 206Pb/204Pb için 18.533-18.745, 207Pb/204Pb için 15.633-15.657 ve 208Pb/204Pb için 38.710-38.772 değerlerine sahiptir. Bu değerler kurşun için orojenik kökenli bir kaynak önermektedir.

Amaç: Bu çalışmadaki amacımız, I-131 ablasyon tedavisi uygulanan diferansiye tiroid kanserli hastalarda, ablasyon öncesi ölçülen serum tiroglobulin değerleri ile ablasyon sonrası rezidü tiroid dokudaki I-131 uptake değerleri ve MIRDOSE3 ile hesaplanan absorbe dozları karşılaştırarak, aralarında rezidü doku miktarı tahmini ve tedavi etkinliğine etkileri açısından bir ilişki olup olmadığını araştırmaktır. Yöntem: Çalışmaya yetmiş dört hasta dâhil edildi. Hastalarda ablasyon öncesi serum tiroglobulin ve tiroid stimülan hormon düzeyleri ölçüldü. Ablasyon sonrası 8. gün I-131 tüm vücut tarama sintigrafi görüntüleri de kullanılarak uptake değerleri hesaplandı. Bulgular ablasyon sonrası 8.-12. ayda yapılan düşük doz I-131 ile tüm vücut tarama sintigrafi görüntüleri ile birlikte değerlendirildi. Ayrıca her hastada I-131'in efektif yarı ömrü, kümülatif aktivite ve I-131 kalım süresi hesaplandı. Bulunan değerler MIRDOSE3 programında kullanılarak total vücut absorbe dozlar hesaplandı ve parametreler arası karşılaştırılma yapıldı. Bulgular: Hastalarda; tiroglobulin değerleri ile uptake değerleri sperman analizi ile karşılaştırıldığında, aralarında orta düzeyde korelasyon bulundu (r=0.616, p=0.01). Hastaların ablasyon öncesi tiroid stimülan hormon düzeyleri ile uptake değerleri karşılaştırıldığında, aralarında negatif yönde düşük düzeyde korelasyon bulundu (r =-0.218, p=0.05). Yetmiş dört hastanın 8.-12. ay tüm vücut tarama sintigrafileri ve tiroglobulin sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, 3 (%4,1) hastada tam ablasyon yokken, 71 (%95,9) hastada tam ablasyon vardı. Tam ablasyon sağlanamayan hastaların tedavi öncesindeki tiroglobulin düzeyleri tam ablasyon sağlananlara göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde yüksek bulundu (p=0.001). Absorbe dozlar ile tiroglobulin değerleri karşılaştırıldığında, aralarında düşük düzeyde korelasyon bulundu (r=0.212, p=0.05). Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, I-131 ablasyon tedavisi öncesinde ölçülen tiroglobulin değerlerinin cerrahi sonrası kalan doku hakkında bilgi verebileceğini ve kalan doku boyutunun da tedavi etkinliğini etkileyebileceğini gözlemledik. Ayrıca tedavi öncesi tiroglobulin değerleri yüksek olan hastalarda tam ablasyon başarısı açısından tedavi ve takip protokolüne dikkat edilmesi gerektiğini düşünüyoruz., Objective: The aim of this study was to compare I-131 uptake in postoperative residue thyroid tissue and absorbed doses calculated with MIRDOSE3 and pre-ablation thyroglobulin levels in patients with differential thyroid cancer and was to investigate whether there is a relationship in terms of effectiveness to treatment efficacy. Method: Seventy-four patients were included in the study. Serum thyroglobulin and thyroid stimulating hormone levels before ablation were measured in patients. Uptake values were calculated using I-131 whole body scan scintigraphy images taken on the 8th day after ablation. The findings were evaluated with low dose I-131 whole body scan scintigraphy at 8th-12th months after ablation. Also the effective half-life of I-131, cumulative activity and I-131 residence time were calculated for each patient. The values found were used in the MIRDOSE3 program to calculate total body absorptive doses and comparison was made between the parameters. Results: Thyroglobulin values and uptake values were compared with sperman analysis. There was intermediate correlation between them (r = 0.616, p = 0.01). There was a low correlation in the negative direction between thyroid stimulating hormone levels and uptake values of patients before ablation (r =-0.218, p = 0.05). In 74 patients 8th-12th. Month whole body scan scintigraphy and thyroglobulin results are evaluated; 3 (4.1%) patients were not complete ablated and 71 patients (95.9%) were complete ablated. There was a significant difference only in the thyroglobulin value between complete ablated and non-ablated patient groups (p =0.001). There was a low correlation between absorbed doses and thyroglobulin values (r = 0.212, p = 0.05). Conclusions: As a result, we observed that thyroglobulin values measured before I-131 treatment inform about residual tissue after surgery and residual tissue size may affect treatment efficacy. We also think that attention should be paid to the treatment and follow-up protocol in terms of complete ablation success in patients with high pre-treatment thyroglobulin values.

In this study, it is aimed to search residues of enrofloxacin, doxycycline and tylosin which are widely used in poultry farming in fresh and packaged chicken meat samples taken from five brands being sold nationwide, through HPLC method. Enrofloxacin, doxycycline and tylosin levels in the samples of chicken meat were evaluated according to “The Regulation on Classification of Active Pharmacologic Substances that might be Available in Food of Animal Origin in Turkish Food Codex and Maximum Residue Limits” and international limits. Maximum residue limit (MRL) of enrofloxacin, doxycycline and tylosin in muscle tissues of chickens must be 100 µg/kg according to applicable regulations and international limits. It was found in totally 300 analyzed samples (whole chicken, drumstick and breast meat) that 11 (3.6%) of them had enrofloxacin, doxycycline and tylosin levels higher than MRL (between 100-150 µg/kg). Residue levels were less than allowed limits in other samples. Six (2%) of these 11 samples had enrofloxacin, 3 (1%) had doxycycline and 2 (0.6%) had tylosin residues. Since the results of this study showed that the majority of samples were lower than allowed limits, these results were considered as positive. However, as long as medicines do continue to be used for animals’ health, there will always be a risk of existence of medicine residues in food of animal origin. Many stakeholders have a role in preventing residue risk arising out of veterinary medicines and all these persons must pay necessary attention to residue purification duration, training programs and keeping regular records of animals., Bu çalışmada, kanatlı hayvan yetiştiriciliğinde yaygın olarak kullanılan enrofloksasin, doksisiklin ve tilosin kalıntılarının, satışa sunulan beş farklı ulusal firmaya ait paketlenmiş taze tavuk eti örneklerinde HPLC yöntemiyle araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Tavuk eti örneklerindeki enrofloksasin, doksisiklin ve tilosin düzeyleri, “Türk Gıda Kodeksi Hayvansal Gıdalarda Bulunabilecek Farmakolojik Aktif Maddelerin Sınıflandırılması ve Maksimum Kalıntı Limitleri Yönetmeliği”ne ve uluslararası limitlere göre değerlendirilmiştir. İlgili yönetmelikte ve uluslararası limitlerde enrofloksasin, doksisiklin ve tilosin için tavuk kas dokuda maksimum kalıntı limiti (MKL) 100 µg/kg olarak verilmiştir. Analizi yapılan toplam 300 örneğin (bütün tavuk, but eti ve göğüs eti) 11 (%3.6)’inde farklı örneklerde ve düzeyde MKL üzerinde (100- 150 µg/kg arasında) enrofloksasin, doksisiklin ve tilosin bulunmuştur. Diğer örneklerde ise izin verilen limitlerin altında belirlenmiştir. Antibiyotik kalıntısı tespit edilen 11 örneğin 6 (%2)’sı enrofloksasin, 3 (%1)’ü doksisiklin ve 2 (%0.6)’si tilosin olarak saptanmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçların, büyük oranda izin verilen limitlerin altında kalması olumlu bir sonuç olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ancak, hayvan sağlığı için ilaç kullanımı söz konusu olduğu sürece, hayvansal gıdalarda ilaç kalıntılarının bulunması riski muhtemeldir. Veteriner ilaçlarından ileri gelebilecek kalıntı riskinin önlenmesinde pek çok paydaşın rolü bulunmaktadır ve tüm ilgililer ilaç kalıntı arınma süresi, eğitim programları, hayvan kayıtlarının düzenli tutulması gibi konularda gereken hassasiyeti göstermelidir.

Beyin sapı ve omurilik tutulumu ve yüksek laktat seviyesi ile karakterize olan lökoensefalopati (LBSL), manyetik rezonans görüntüleme (MRI) işaretleri temelinde yeni tanımlanan beyaz cevher hastalığıdır. Klinik bulgular ve semptomlar ilerleyici piramidal, serebellar ve dorsal kolon işlev bozukluğunu gösterir. Laboratuvar bulguları genellikle ortaya çıkarılmamaktadır. Bazı tipik MR ve manyetik rezonans spektroskopisi (MRS) bulguları vardır. Serebellar, piramidal ve dorsal kolon fonksiyon bozukluğu olan, spesifik MR ve karakteristik MRS bulguları olan 11 yaşında bir erkek hasta sunuyoruz. MR ve MRS bulguları LBSL ile uyumlu idi. LBSL, nadir bir lökoensefalopatidir. Görüntüleme özellikleri çok özeldir ve radyolojinin tanı ve tedaviyi yönlendirmede önemli bir rolü vardır., Characterized by brain stem and spinal cord involvement and elevated lactate level, leukoencephalopathy (LBSL) is a white matter disease that has been newly described on the basis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signs. The clinical signs and symptoms indicate progressive pyramidal, cerebellar, and dorsal column dysfunction. Its laboratory findings are generally non-revealing. There are some typical MRI and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) signs. We present a 11-year-old boy patient with cerebellar, pyramidal and dorsal column dysfunctions and specific MRI and characteristic MRS findings. MRI and MRS findings were consistent with LBSL. LBSL is a rare leukoencephalopathy. The imaging features are very specific, and radiology has a key role to play in directing the diagnosis and management.

Edward sendromu diğer adıyla trizomi 18, en sık görülen sayısal kromozomal anomalilerden biridir. Trizomi 18 insidansı yaklaşık olarak 6.000 canlı doğumda 1 olarak görülmektedir. Trizomi 18'in tipik özellikleri; rahim içi gelişme geriliği, kraniyofasiyal ve ekstremite anomalileri, kalp anomalileri ve ağır mental retardasyondur. Trizomi 18 sendromunda sık bildirilmeyen, ancak eşlik eden birçok göz anomalisi mevcuttur. Yapısal göz anomalileri sıklıkla kornea, ön üvea, lens ve retinada izlenmektedir. Trizomi 18'de birçok kapak anomalisine rastlanmaktadır. Dar palpebral fissürler, pitozis ve epikantus en sık izlenen bulgulardır. Bu çalışmada, iki taraflı korneal opasite ve punktat epitelyopati tanısıyla kliniğimize sevk edilen trizomi 18'li olguyu, literatürde sık rastlamadığımız mikroblefaron nedeni ile sunmayı amaçladık., Edward's syndrome (trisomy 18) is one of the most common numerical chromoso- mal anomalies. The incidence of trisomy 18 is approximately 1 in 6.000 live birhts. Intrauterin growth retardation, craniofascial anomalies, extremity anomalies, cardiac anomalies and severe mental retardation are the characteristics of trisomy 18. There are few concomitant ocular anom- alies which are not commonly reported. Structural ocular anomalies are observed frequently in the cornea, anterior uveal tract, lens and retina. There are encountered many eyelids anomalies in trisomy 18. Narrow palpebral fissures, ptosis and epicantus are the most common findings. Loneliness that has spread rapidly today and has adversely affected the quality of life and happiness of people, has become one of the most important social problems especially in America and Europe. This fact led to the establishment of a ministry responsible for loneliness in England, and this research comprises loneliness as one of the main research topics, to comprehend the level of loneliness among university students who are representatives of a young generation in Turkey. This study was conducted on a 416 students sample from different faculties of the University of Ordu. In the questionnaire form; UCLA loneliness scale, religious coping and life satisfaction scales were used. In addition, questions were asked to determine the participants' perceptions of individual religiousness and social media use. As a result of analyzes made with SPSS statistical program; there is a negative relationship between perception of religiousness and loneliness, negative religious achievement, level of visibility in social media, and the number of social media in use; a positive relationship was found between religiousness and positive religious achievement. It has also been understood that the subjective perception of religiousness does not lead to a difference in gender but leads to a difference in life satisfaction. While a negative relationship between loneliness and positive religious coping, life satisfaction and messaging is detected, a positive satisfaction between life satisfaction and positive religious achievement, the negative relationship between negative religious coping and the presence of interaction was detected. Ayrica katilimcilarin bireysel dindarlik algilari ve sosyal medya kullanim düzeylerini belirlemeye yönelik sorular oluşturulmuştur. SPSS istatistik programiyla yapilan analizler sonucunda; dindarlik algisi ile yalnizlik, olumsuz dini başa çikma, sosyal medyada görünürlük düzeyi ve kullanilan sosyal medya sayisi arasinda negatif yönde; dindarlikla olumlu dini başa çikma arasinda ise pozitif yönde bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ayrica öznel dindarlik algisi cinsiyet üzerinde farkliliğa açmazken, hayat memnuniyeti üzerinde farkliliğa yol açtiği anlaşilmiştir. Yalnizlik ile olumlu dini başa çikma, hayat memnuniyeti ve mesajlaşma arasinda negatif yönde ilişki ve etkileşim tespit edilirken, hayat memnuniyeti ile olumlu dini başa çikma arasinda pozitif, olumsuz dini başa çikma arasinda negatif yönde ilişki ve etkileşimin varliği bulgulanmiştir. Günümüzde daha çok estetik, sağlık, moda açısından dikkat çeken tıraş konusu, Doğu toplumla-rında eskiden toplumdan kaçıp uzlete çekilme, matem veya tarikata intisap ve girişlerde, hac farizası-nın bitiminde yeni bir hayata başlama; bugünkü deyim ile yeniden toplumsallaşma amacıyla uygulana geldiği görülmektedir. Ancak, bunun yanı sıra; tıraşın hakaret ve tecziye amacıyla kölelere, esirlere, suçlulara, mahkûmlara uygulandığına dair çokça kayıtlara rastlanmaktadır. Tarikatlara girişte veya hac ibadetinin bitiminde müritlere ve hacılara uygulanan gönüllü dinî amaçlı tıraş ile; mahkûmlara, kölelere, esirlere uygulanan cebri tıraş arasında onur kırmak, gurur ve bencilliği törpülemek gibi bir ilişki olduğu göze çarpmaktadır. Yine, önemsenen dinî bir şahsiyetin başını tıraş etmek veya bir tarikat şeyhi tarafından tıraş edilmek de çok değer atfedilen bir ritüel olduğuna dair kayıtlara rastlanmakta-dır. Bu makalede kronik, astroloji, menakıpname, seyahatname, âdâb-ı muâşeret, kanunname, arşiv belgeleri ile fıkıh, hadis, Kuran ve benzeri tarihi ve dini metinlerde tıraşa ilişkin rastlanılan kayıtlar incelenerek bu ritüelin Doğu toplumlarında uygulanış gayesi irdelenmiştir. Söz konusu kaynaklarda tıraşa ilişkin kayıtlar derlenirken, Doğu toplumlarında bu ritüelin belirli zaman ve mekânlarda uygu-landığı görülmüştür. Hatta öyle ki, Tıraşname adıyla, bu ritüelin vaktini belirleyen metinler bile kale-me alınmıştır. Kuran, hadis ve fıkıh kitaplarındaki ayet, hadis ve hükümler de tıraşın İslam toplumun-da başlangıçtan itibaren önemsenen bir ritüel olduğunu göstermektedir. Ancak bu ritüelin izleri takip edildiğinde eski Türk, Uygur ve Çin’den Budizm’e vardığı anlaşılmaktır. Tıraş ritüelinin uygulanış zamanın ve amacının Anadolu’da yaşayan halkın örf ve adet ve dinî inanışlarında halen sürdürüldüğü ve önemini koruduğu görülmektedir., Shaving, which is discussed under issues of aesthetics, health and fashion today, was seen to be practiced in Eastern societies in the past for purposes such as leaving the society and going into seclusion, mourning or initiations and rites of passage to religious orders, starting a new life following the obligation of pilgrimage; or in today’s words, re-socialization. However, in addition to this, shav-ing was included in several records as an act induced on slaves, captives, criminals and convicts as a punishment or insult. One way notice that there is a relationship between shaving given to disciples and pilgrims for initiation into religious order or as a conclusion of pilgrimage by consent and shaving given to convicts, slaves and captives by force, in terms of insulting, or curbing pride and selfishness. Likewise, some records also report that it is a ritual that is regarded very highly to shave the head of a respected religious figure or being shaven by a leader of a religious order. This article investigates records regarding shaving in historical and religious texts such as chronicles, astrology, epics, travel books, social decorum, statute books and archive documents, as well as fiqh, hadith and Quran, and the purposes of application of this ritual in Eastern societies. While reviewing records of shaving in the sources in question, it was seen that this ritual was performed in certain times and spaces in Eastern societies. Even texts that determine the timing of this ritual were written under the name of Tıraşname (book of shaving). Verses, hadiths and provisions in the Quran, hadith and fiqh books also show that shaving has been a ritual paid importance to by the Islamic society. On the other hand, when one traces this ritual back into the past, it may be seen to reach from ancient Turk, Uighur and China cultures to Buddhism. It is observed that the timing and purpose of shaving still have a place in the traditions and customs of the people living in Anatolia and they still have importance.

WOS: 000432307500007, Objective: This study aimed to determine the frequency of HBV reactivation and the potential predictive factors in resolved hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients [hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-negative and antibody to hepatitis B core antigen (antiHBc)-positive patients] who received rituximab-containing chemotherapy for B-cell lymphoma. Materials and Methods: A retrospective examination was performed for HBV-related markers in 106 patients before and after receiving rituximab-containing chemotherapy for CD20-positive B-cell lymphoma. Results: Of the 106 patients with CD20-positive B-cell lymphoma who received rituximab-containing chemotherapy, 98 were HBsAg negative and 8 were HBsAg positive; among the 98 patients, 64 (65.7%) were anti-HBc negative and 34 (34.7%) were anti-HBc positive. Of the 34 CD20-positive B-cell lymphoma patients with resolved HBV infection who received rituximab-containing chemotherapy, 26 (76.5%) were anti-HBsAg antibody (anti-HBs) positive and 8 (23.5%) were anti-HBs negative. Of these 8 anti-HBs-negative patients, HBV reactivation occurred in 4 (50%) patients; no HBV reactivation was observed in any of the 26 anti-HBs-positive patients. Bu makalenin konusu Bakü-Tiflis-Kars demiryolu ve bu demiryolunun Türkiye açısından jeopolitik önemini değerlendirmektir. Azerbaycan, Türkiye ve Gürcistan arasındaki bu demiryolu hattı ile ilgili ilk görüşler 1990’lı yıllarda gündeme gelmiştir. 2007 yılında anlaşma sağlanmış ve 2008 yılında Türkiye kısmında yapımına başlanılmıştır. Demir İpek Yolu’nun en önemli parçalarından birini oluşturan Marmaray Projesi 2013 yılında tamamlanmış, böylelikle Avrupa-Asya demiryolu ağı arasında bağlantı sağlanmasına bir adım daha yaklaşılmıştır. Bakü-Tiflis-Kars demiryolunun toplam hat uzunluğu 838.6 km’dir. Bu hattın Türkiye kısmı 105 km’dir. Bunun da 29 km.si Gürcistan’ta 76 km.si Türkiye sınırları içerisindedir. Bakü-Tiflis-Kars demiryolu hattı sayesinde dar çerçevede Türkiye üzerinden Avrupa ile Hazar Denizi arasında yeni bir demiryolu ağı kurulmuş olacaktır. Geniş çerçevede ise bu demiryolu hattı karada Avrupa ile Çin arasındaki en önemli yolcu ve yük taşıma kapasitesine sahip güzergâhlardan biri olacaktır. Among Azerbaijan and Turkey through Georgia was first discussed in 1993 about this railway Project, after that the Project implementation began in 2007 and construction began in 2008 on Turkey. Marmaray Project, which is one of the most other important part of the Iron Silk Road, completed in 2013. Thus, it was closed one more step for providing connect European and Asian railway networks. The total length of the railway is 838.6 km. This part of Turkey is 105 kilometer. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad project envisages construction of a 29 kilometer segment in Georgia and a 76 kilometer segment in Turkey. The Baku- Tbilisi-Kars Railway is an important part of New Iron Silk Road. Due to this railway, it connected to a new rail corridor from Caspian Sea to Europe via Turkey. In general framework is also that this railway line is one of the most important road in terms of passengers and freight carrying capacity between China and Europe countries. In this study is evaluated railway phenomenon as an important power in terms of politic, economic, historic and geography and highlighted development and historical of Baku- Tbilisi-Kars Railway. In following, it is considered this railway line how to use as a geopolitics power by countries including Baku- Tbilisi-Kars Railway for Turkey.

ÖZET Bisfenol A (BFA), epoksi rezin ve polikarbonat plastik üretiminde yaygın olarak kullanılan sentetik bir kimyasaldır. Günlük hayatta kullanılan biberonlar, gıda paketleri, deterjanlar, oyuncaklar, gözlük camları, su damacanaları gibi pek çok ürünün yapısında BFA bulunmakta ve kullanımı her geçen gün artmaktadır. BFA, Avrupa Birliği tarafından 2002 yılında yayımlanan endokrin bozucular ile ilgili raporda yer alan 60 kimyasaldan biridir. Çevre ve insan sağlığına zararları açıkça gösterilen BFA, ilk kez Kanada’da toksik bir madde olarak kabul edilmiş ve kullanımı yasaklanmıştır. Özellikle bebekler ve çocuklarda, genel olarak tüm yaş gruplarında obeziteden kansere birçok hastalığa sebep olabilen BFA, diş hekimliği ve ortodonti malzemelerinin içeriğinde yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Örneğin; braketler yapıştırıldıktan hemen sonra yapılan ölçümlerde tükürükteki BFA seviyesinin arttığı gösterilmiştir. Ancak, ortodontik materyallerle (kompozit, plastik braket, aligner) meydana gelen BFA maruziyeti, günlük tolere edilebilir BFA alım miktarının çok altındadır. Buna karşın yapılan birçok hayvan çalışmasında BFA’nın düşük dozlarda bile çeşitli hastalıklara yol açtığı bildirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada; BFA nedir?, BFA’nın östrojenik etki mekanizması, kullanım alanları, biyolojik etkileri, ortodontik malzemelerde BFA salınımı gibi konu başlıkları altında BFA konusunda ortodontistler arasında farkındalık oluşturacak bilgilerin sunulması amaçlanmıştır., Bisphenol A (BPA) is a synthetic chemical widely used in the production of epoxy resins and polycarbonate plastics. BPA is found in many products such as bottles, food packages, detergents, toys, glasses, water deminers, etc. used in daily life and its usage is increasing day by day. BPA is one of the sixty chemicals in the report of the endocrine disrupters published by the European Union in 2002. The BPA, which is clearly shown to be harmful for the environment and human health, has been recognized as a toxic substance in Canada for the first time and its usage was prohibited. BPA, which can cause many diseases from obesity to cancer, especially in infants and children, generally in all age groups is widely used in dentistry and orthodontic materials. For example; it has been shown that the level of BPA in the saliva increases in the measurements made immediately after the bonding of brackets. However, exposure to BPA from orthodontic materials (composite, plastic bracket, aligner) is well below daily tolerable intake. In contrast, many animal studies have reported that BPA causes various diseases even at low doses. So, which orthodontic materials are making BPA release and at what level is this release? In this review, informations which will create awareness among orthodontists about BPA are presented under the titles such as what is BPA?, the mechanism of estrogenic action, usage areas and biological effects of BPA, BPA release in orthodontic materials.

Bilgisayar ve internetin, günlük yaşamın vazgeçilmez bir unsuru haline gelmesi ile birlikte internet sitelerinin ve web tabanlı uygulamaların sayısı da hızla artmıştır. Bilgi, fikir, para gibi birçok önemli unsurun internet siteleri ve uygulamalar aracılığıyla paylaşımının yapılması ise bilgi güvenliği konusunu önemli ve güncel bir hale getirmiştir. Günümüze kadar güvenlik duvarı, virüs programları gibi yazılımlar bilgisayar ve sistem güvenliği için kullanılmış ancak yeterli olmamıştır. Bu nedenle mevcut yazılımlara alternatif olarak ortaya atılan saldırı tespit sistemleri ile anormal davranışlar tespit edilerek olası tehlikelerin çözümlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada ise saldırı tespit sistemleri için üretilen KDDCup99 veri seti üzerinde ki kare, bilgi kazancı, kazanım oranı, gini katsayısı, oneR, reliefF, genetik, ileriye doğru ve geriye doğru öznitelik seçim algoritmaları uygulanarak yeni veri setleri elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen yeni veri setlerini, orijinal boyuttaki veri seti ile karşılaştırmak için en yakın k komşu, destek vektör makineleri ve aşırı öğrenme makineleri kullanılarak farklı modeller geliştirilmiştir. Çalışmada, her üç yöntem için belirtilen öznitelik seçme yöntemleri kullanılarak test verileri için en yüksek başarıma sahip modeller başarı oranı, hassasiyet yanlış alarm oranı, f-ölçütü gibi çeşitli metrikler yardımıyla karşılaştırılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerin sonucunda öznitelik seçim yöntemlerinin her üç sınıflama yöntemi içinde başarı oranını artırdığı ve modellerin daha hızlı çalışmasını sağladığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca, yüksek başarı oranları, diğer sınıflama yöntemlerine oranla son derece hızlı olması, eğitim algoritmasının basit olması gibi nedenlerden dolayı aşırı öğrenme makinalarının çevrimiçi saldırı tespit sistemlerine rahatlıkla entegre edilebileceğini ve alternatif bir yöntem olarak kullanılabileceğini göstermiştir., As computers and the internet become indispensable elements of everyday life, the number of internet sites and web based applications have increased rapidly. The sharing of information, ideas and money through internet sites and applications has made information security an important and actual issue. Softwares such as security walls and virus programs are used for computer and system security have not been enough. For this reason, it is aimed to solve the possible threats by detecting abnormal behaviors with the intrusion detection systems that are proposed as an alternative to existing software. In this study, new data sets are obtained by applying chi square, information gain, gain ratio, gini coefficient, oneR, reliefF, genetic, forward and backward feature selection algorithms on KDDCup99 dataset generated for intrusion detection systems. In order to compare the new data sets obtained with the original size data set, different models are developed by using k-nearest-neighbor, support vector machines and extreme learning machines. In this study, all three methods for test data having best results are compared by using mentioned feature selection methods according to metrics such as success rate, precision, false alarm error, f-measure. As the result of experiments, it is seen that feature selection methods increases the success rate and enables models to function faster for all three classification methods. Besides, it shows that extreme learning machines are able to be integrated to intrusion detection systems conveniently and be used as an alternative method because of reasons such as having high success rate, being faster than other classification methods and having simple training algorithm.

Amaç: Mortalite ve morbidite oranı oldukça yüksek olan intraserebral hemorajinin(İSH) prognozunda inflamatuar süreç oldukça önemli bir yer tutar. İnflamatuar bir gösterge olarak kabul edilen platelet/lenfosit oranının(PLO); son yapılan çalışmalarla özellikle akut koroner sendrom, kalp kapak hastalıkları, çeşitli onkolojik hastalıklar ve serebral infarktüste prognozla ilişkili olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Ancak akut dönem İSH’li hastaların prognozunu göstermedeki yeri henüz bilinmemektedir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmamıza retrospekif olarak Ocak 2008- Haziran 2016 tarihleri arasında kliniğimize şikayetlerinin başladığı ilk 24 saat içinde başvuran, İSH tanısı kesinleşmiş 296 hasta ile benzer yaş ve cinsiyete sahip 180 kontrol dahil edildi. 296 hastanın 120 tanesi 30 günlük hastane yatışı sırasında hayatını kaybetmişti. Hastalarla kontrollerin ve ölenlerle sağ kalan hastaların nötrofil/lenfosit oranları(NLO) ile PLO değerleri karşılaştırılarak 30 günlük mortaliteyi saptamada NLO ve PLO’nun rolü değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Hasta grubu kontrollerle, ölen hastalar sağ kalan hastalarla kıyaslandığında nötrofil ve platelet sayıları ile NLO ve PLO değerleri hasta grubunda ve özellikle de ölen hastalarda daha yüksekti. Yapılan tek ve çok değişkenli lojistik regresyon analizlerinde, NLO ve PLO değerlerindeki yüksekliğin akut dönem İSH’li hastalardaki kısa dönem mortaliteyi saptamada anlamlı bağımsız değişkenler olduğu saptandı(p= 0.014,p=0.024).Ek olarak yapılan ROC analizi ile PLO için 261.7, NLO için ise 9.5 üzerindeki değerlerin İSH’ye bağlı 30 günlük mortaliteyi saptamada kullanılabileceği gösterildi. Sonuç: Bu sonuçlarla akut dönem İSH’lı hastalarda NLO ve PLO değerlerinin arttığı ve mekanizması tam olarak bilinmese de NLO ve PLO değerlerindeki yüksekliğin İSH’li hastalarda kısa dönem mortalite ile yakından ilişkili olduğu söylenebilir., Aim: Inflammation plays an important role in the prognosis of intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH), which has high mortality and morbidity rates. Platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR), which was accepted as an indicator of inflammation, have been increasingly demonstrated a prognostic factor, particularly in acute coronary syndrome, various oncological diseases, and in cerebral infarction in recent studies. Nonetheless, its significance regarding the determination of prognosis in patients with ICH has not yet been clarified. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study including 296 patients who presented to our clinic within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms and who were diagnosed with ICH between January 2008 and June 2016, along with 180 age and sex-matched controls. During their 30 day-hospitalization, 120 of these 296 patients died. Patients and controls were compared in terms of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and PLR values; these were also compared between died and surviving patients. The significance of NLR and PLR in predicting mortality was also evaluated. Results: Patients had significantly higher neutrophil and platelet counts and NLR and PLR values than controls; these results were similar between died and surviving patients. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses indicated that NLR and PLR were independent predictors of short term mortality in ICH (p= 0.014, p=0.024). In addition, ROC analysis showed that cut-off values of 261.7 for PLR and 9.5 for NLR may be used to determine 30-day mortality due to ICH. Conclusion: These results indicate that NLR and PLR can increase in patients with ICH, and that although the mechanism is unclear, the increase of NLR and PLR is closely associated with short term mortality in patients with ICH.

Türkiye’de ekonomik istikrarın sağlanması için temel sektörlerden birisi olan bankacılık sektörünün sağlam bir yapıya kavuşması için rekabet ve yarışılabilirlik düzeyinin artırılması gerekmektedir. Bu amaçla, 2001 yılında bir bankacılık sektörü yeniden yapılandırma programı uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Piyasa yapısının belirlenmesinin, bu amaca ulaşılıp ulaşılmadığını göstermesi açısından önemli bir gösterge olduğu düşünüldüğünden, rekabet ve yarışılabilirlik açısından sektörün piyasa yapısının belirlenmesi bu çalışmanın konusu olarak seçilmiştir. Elde edilen bir diğer sonuç ise Türk bankacılık sektöründe ölçek büyüklüğünün piyasa yapısını etkileyen önemli bir değişken olduğudur., In order to maintain economic stability in Turkey, and to create a strong structure for banking sector, one of the main sector, competition and contestability level should be increased. For this reason, in 2001, a new banking sector restructrung programme was implemented. As determining market structure is an important indicator in showing whether it reaches this aim or not. So determining sector’s market structure in terms of competition and contestability, has been selected as the field of study. For this reason, in the study, competition and contestability in the sector have been measured by using 27 bank’s 2003-2012 period panel data sets. Empirical results of the created models indicate that Turkish banking sector is a monopolistic competition market meeting the conditions of contestability. Another results obtained from the study is that scale size is a crucial variable affecting market structure of Turkish banking sector.

Gebelikte geçirilen enfeksiyonlar gebelik üzerine olumsuz etki oluşturmakla birlikte intrauterin enfeksiyonlar perinatal mortalite ve morbiditenin en önemli nedenleri arasında yer almaktadır. Teratojen enfeksiyonlar gebelik döneminde geçirildiğinde fetüste benzer klinik tablo oluşturduğundan birlikte değerlendirilmektedir. Bu enfeksiyonları ayrıca önemli kılan bir durum da gebede asemptomatik seyrettiği halde fetüste ileri düzeylerde sekellere neden olmasıdır. Gebeliğinde enfeksiyon yaşayan kadınların ve fetüslerin ise enfeksiyonun tanılanması, gebeliğin yönetimi, anneden fetüse bulaşın önlenmesinde hem doğumun hem de sonraki bakımın güvenli biçimde gerçekleştirilebilmesi için bakımın kaliteli olması, gereksiz uygulamalardan kaçınılması, rutin uygulamada olmayan fakat yararı kanıtlanmış uygulamaların işlevselliğinin arttırılması, yarar sağlamayan uygulamaların kullanımından kaçınılması ancak kanıt temelli güncel yaklaşımlarla sağlanabilir. Teratogenic infections create a clinically similar picture, they should be assessed together. Another point making the said infections important is the fact that they cause advanced sequelae in fetus even though they progress asymptomatically in pregnant woman. It may be possible only with proof-based approaches to diagnose the infection in the women and fetuses who experienced infection during their youths, to manage pregnancy, to provide quality healthcare in order to carry out both delivery and postnatal care safely in preventing the transmission of infection from mother to child, to avoid unnecessary applications, to increase the functionality of the applications which are non-routine but proven to be useful, to avoid using unpractical applications. Healthcare professionals should take proof-based approaches as a guide in providing healthcare in order to reach the said targets and integrate them into clinical practice. Background: In the present study, we aimed to present our experience about retrieval of foreign bodies over a 28-year period. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the files of 22 patients (18 males, 4 females; mean age 34.9 years; range, 9 months to 80 years) who required removal of a foreign body from the tracheobronchial tree between April 1987 and December 2015. Results: A total of 72.7% of the study group were 10 years old or older. There was no history of aspiration in 37% of cases, most often in older patients. Of the 22 unusual foreign bodies, seven (31.8%) were aspirated through permanent tracheostomy. The strangest foreign bodies were grass inflorescences, an acacia thorn, and construction nail. The foreign bodies were removed by rigid bronchoscopy in 18 patients, while thoracotomy was performed in two patients, and pericardiotomy in one patient. No intervention was required in one patient. Conclusion: The elderly and patients with tracheostomies may aspirate unusual foreign bodies. Even if there is no history of aspiration, the differential diagnosis of c ough or dyspnea should include foreign body aspiration., Amaç: Bu yazıda 28 yıl boyunca yabancı cisim çıkarılmasına ilişkin deneyimimiz sunuldu. Çalış­ma­ planı:­ Nisan 1987 - Aralık 2015 tarihleri arasında trakeobronşiyal ağaçtan yabancı cisim çıkarılan 22 hastanın (18 erkek, 4 kadın; ort. yaş 34.9 yıl; dağılım, 9 ay-80 yıl) dosyası retrospektif olarak incelendi. Bulgular: Çalışma grubumuzun %72.7’si 10 yaş ve üzeri idi. Olguların %37’sinde özellikle de yaşlı hastalarda, aspirasyon öyküsü yoktu. Tuhaf 22 yabancı cisimden yedisi (%31.8) kalıcı trakeostomide aspire edilmişti. En dikkat çekici yabancı cisimler pisipisi otu, akasya dikeni ve inşaat çivisi idi. Yabancı cisimler 18 hastada bronkoskopi ile çıkarılırken, iki hastaya torakotomi ve bir hastaya perikardiyotomi yapıldı. Bir hastada herhangi bir girişim gerekmedi. Sonuç:­ Yaşlı ve trakeostomili hastalarda tuhaf yabancı cisimler aspire edebilmektedir. Aspirasyon öyküsü olmasa dahi, öksürük ve dispnenin ayırıcı tanısında yabancı cisim aspirasyonu akla gelmelidir.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the corrosion resistance of castable and fabrication magnetic attachments systems used in prosthetic rehabilitation. Material and Methods: For corrosion test, castable magnetic attachments containing 39.5% platinum, 59.75% iron and 0.75% niobyum by weight and fabricated magnetic attachment system, Hilop, with neodymium, iron and boron content were immersed in 1% lactic acid and 0,9% NaCI for 14 days (n:8). The released iron, platinum, neodimyum, boron and niobyum ions in the solutions from the samples were examined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) methods. Results: Iron was found the highest released element into the both solutions for all attachment systems and causing corrosion. In addition, castable magnetic attachment system was found to be the most resistant to corrosion in both environments. Conclusion: Coating with stainless steel makes the fabricated magnetic attachment system resistant to corrosion, but the high platinum content made the castable magnets more resistant to corrosion., Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, protetik tedavilerde kullanılan döküm ve fabrikasyon manyetik ataşman sistemlerinin, korozyona karşı dirençlerinin incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Korozyon testi için, ağırlıkça %39,5 platin, %59,75 demir ve %0,75 niobyum içeren döküm manyetik ataşmanlar ile neodmiyum, demir ve boron içeriğe sahip fabrikasyon Hilop manyetik ataşman sistemleri, %1’ lik laktik asit ve %0,9’ luk NaCl solüsyon içerisinde 14 gün boyunca bekletilmiş (n:8). Bulgular: Her iki manyetik ataşman sisteminde de en fazla solüsyon içerisine salınan ve korozyona neden olan element demir olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca her iki ortamda da döküm manyetik ataşman sistemi korozyona karşı en dirençli sistem olarak tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç: Paslanmaz çelik ile kaplama fabrikasyon manyetik ataşman sistemlerini korozyona karşı korusada döküm mıknatısların içeriğindeki yüksek orandaki platin malzemeyi korozyona karşı daha dirençli hale getirmiştir.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı hipertrofik kardiyomiyopatide eritrosit dağılım aralığının mortalite üzerine etkisini araştırmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntem: 2006 ve 2017 yılları arasında Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi’nde ve Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesi’nde tanı konulmuş 126 hasta geriye dönük olarak tarandı. Otuz hasta kayıt yetersizliği, mortalite bil- gisine ulaşılamaması ve takip dışı olması nedeni ile çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Çalışmaya dâhil edilen 96 hastadan takipleri mortalite ile so- nuçlanan 20 hasta ile takipleri devam eden 76 hasta klinik, demografik, ekokardiyografik ve laboratuvar bulguları ile karşılaştırıldı. Subthreshold data, on the other hand, contain superimposed low-amplitude spike waveforms from distant neurons and are usually considered background noise. Here we show that the estimated standard deviation of this background activity strongly covaries with behavior and can be used to decode behavioral information with very high accuracy. Our method for extracting behavioral information from subthreshold data can be used with traditional methods in brain-machine interfaces to further improve decoding accuracy. © 2018 IEEE.

In this study, Ni(II) adsorption was examined with the biocomposite prepared with the immobilization of Candida utilis on chitosan polymer. The FTIR and SEM analyses of chitosan-Candida utilis biocomposite were carried out before and after adsorption of Ni (II) ions. For the Ni(II) adsorption by C. utilis immobilized on chitosan, the Ni(II) concentrations were changed in the concentration range of 10-100 mg/L. For the Ni(II) adsorption by C. utilis immobilized on chitosan, the optimum pH value was determined to be 4.0, and temperature was determined to be 25 0C. Under these experimental conditions, the maximum adsorbed amount of Ni(II) per unit weight of adsorbent was found to be 9.5 mg/g. The adsorption equilibrium data adjusted to the Langmuir isotherm model. The kinetic data were represented by the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. The enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs free energy changes were found to be -4.61 kj/mol, 1.97 j/mol, -10.48 kj/mol, respectively. With respect to the results obtained in this study, new chitosan-Candida utilis biocomposites will become an alternative for the removal of heavy metals from wastewaters., Bu çalışmada, kitosan polimeri üzerine Candida utilis’in tutuklanması ile hazırlanan biyokompozit ile Ni (II) adsorpsiyonu incelenmiştir. Kitosan-Candida utilis biyokompozitinin FTIR ve SEM analizleri Ni (II) iyonlarının adsorpsiyonundan önce ve sonra gerçekleştirildi. C3 glomerulopati (C3G), kompleman aktivasyonunun anormal kontrolü ile oluşan bir grup böbrek hastalığını kapsayan yakın zamanda tanımlanmış bir hastalıktır. C3G glomerullerde immunoglobulin birikiminin trace ve yokluğu ile dominant olarak kompleman C3 birikimi ile karakterizedir. C3G C3 glomerulonefrit (C3GN) ve Dens Deposit Hastalığı (DDD) diye iki grup hastalıktan oluşmaktadır. DDD ve C3GN nadir görülmektedir ve her iki hastalık hem çocuklarda hemde erişkinlerde görülmektedir. C3G spesifik tedavisinde, plazmaferez, immünsüpresif tedavi ve kompleman inhibitörlerini içermektedir., C3 glomerulopathy is a recently defined disease that encompasses a group of kidney diseases caused by abnormal control of complement activation. C3G is characterized bydeposition of dominant complement C3 with absence/traces of immunoglobulins in the glomeruli. C3G may be classified into dense deposit disease (DDD) and C3 glomerulonephritis (C3GN). DDD and C3GN are rare forms of glomerulonephritis that affect both children and adults. In treatment C3G include on specific treatment, plasma therapy, immunsupressive and complement inhibition.

WOS: 000429930000001, PubMed ID: 29900976, Objectives: This study aims to update 2011 Turkish League Against Rheumatism SpondyloArthritis Recommendations, and to compose a national expert opinion on management of axial spondyloarthritis under guidance of current guidelines, and implantation and dissemination of these international guidelines into our clinical practice. Materials and methods: A scientific committee of 28 experts consisting of 14 rheumatologists and 14 physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists (one of them also has an immunology PhD) was formed. The recommendations, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment were scrutinized paying special attention with convenient key words. The draft of Turkish League Against Rheumatism opinion whose roof consisted of international treatment recommendations, particularly the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society/European League Against Rheumatism recommendations was composed. Assessment of level of agreement with opinions by task force members was established through the Delphi technique. Voting using a numerical rating scale assessed the strength of each recommendation. Results: Panel compromised on five basic principles and 13 recommendations including pharmacological and nonpharmacological methods. All of the recommendations had adequate strength. Conclusion: Turkish League Against Rheumatism expert opinion for the management of axial spondyloArthritis was developed based on scientific evidence. These recommendations will be updated regularly in accordance with current developments.

Amaç:Miyokard infarktüsü (MI) geçiren hastalarda, egzersiz temelli rehabilitasyon, tedavinin önemli bir parçasıdır. Çalışmamızın amacı, MI geçiren hastalarda, hastanede yapılan kardiyak rehabilitasyon ile ev egzersiz programının kardiyak parametreler üzerindeki etkisini karşılaştırmaktı. Yöntem: Çalışmaya 1 ay öncesinde MI geçiren stabil 35 hasta alındı. Hastalar rastgele iki gruba randomize edildi: aerobik egzersiz eğitimi grubu (I), ev egzersiz grubu (II). Grup I, hastanede 6 haftalık aerobik egzersiz programına katıldı. Grup II için evde aşamalı fiziksel aktivite programı öngörüldü. Bulgular: Grup I'de, ejeksiyon fraksiyonu (EF), altı dakika yürüme testi (6-DYT), kol ergometresi testi, VO2max ve anaerobik zaman (AT) değerlerinde artış olduğu bulundu. Aynı zamanda grup II'deki 6-DYT, kol ergometresi testi ve AT değerlerinde de anlamlı artışlar vardı. Kol ergometresi testi değerlerindeki değişim oranı, hastane grubunda daha yüksekti. Sonuçlar: Hastanede yapılan egzersiz programına katılamayacak düşük veya orta riskli hastalar için, evde yapılan egzersiz programları, iyi bir alternatif olabilir., Background: Exercise-based rehabilitation is an important part of treatment patients following myocardial infarction. Objective: The aim of our study was to compare the effects of exercise therapy on cardiopulmonary parameters by prescribing hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation, home-based exercise program in patients with previous myocardial infarction. Method: We studied 35 post-myocardial infarction patients having a 1-month myocardial infarction history with a stable disease. The patients were randomly assigned to 2 groups as follows: aerobic exercise training group (I), homebased exercise group (II). The group I participated in the aerobic exercise program at the hospital for 6 weeks. Group II was prescribed a home-based gradual physical activity program. Results: It was found that there were significant increases in the values of ejection fraction (EF), the six-minutes-walk test (6-MWT), arm ergometer test, VO2max, anaerobic time in group I. It was also found that there were significant increases in the values of 6-MWT, arm ergometer test, and anaerobic time in group II. The ratio of change in arm ergometer test values was higher in the hospital group. Conclusions: Home-based exercise programs can be a good alternative for patients with low or moderate risk who can't attend hospital-based exercise programs.

Bu çalışmada, Poliakrilamid (PAA) ve diatomit (D) içeren yeni bir kompozit materyal sentezlendi ve bir katyonik boya olan metilen mavisinin (MB) sulu ortamdaki gideriminde kullanıldı. Elde edilen yeni kompozit, pliakrilamid-diatomit (PAA-D) sıfır yük noktası (SYN), FTIR analizleriyle karakterize edildi. Yeni kompozit materyalin adsorpsiyon özellikleri kapsamlı olarak ve deneysel değişkenler derişim, pH, sıcaklık, zaman ve iyonik şiddet gibi optimize edilerek araştırılmıştır. Deneysel veriler teorik adsorpsiyon modelleri kullanılarak hesaplandı. Kompozit materyalin adsorpsiyon kapasitesi Langmiur eşitliğinden 0.019 mol kg-1 olarak hesaplandı. Freundlich ve DR modellerinden hesaplanan sabitler 0.075 ve 0.034 olarak bulundu. Adsorpsiyon kinetiği yalanci ikinci derece kinetik ve parçacık içi difüzyon modelleriyle de açıklandı. Deneysel çalışmalar adsorpsiyonun endotermik olduğunu ve kendiliğinden meydana geldiğini gösterdi. The adsorption properties of new composite material were investigated comprehensively and experimental variables were optimized such as concentration, pH, temperature, time and ionic strength. Experimental data were evaluated by using theoretical adsorption models. The maximum adsorption capacity of material was calculated as 0.019 mol kg?1 by considering Langmuir equation. The constants calculated from Freundlich and DR model were found as 0.075 and 0.034, respectively. Adsorption kinetic was also explained with pseudo second order and intra particular diffusion models. Experimental studies were showed that adsorption was endothermic and occurred spontaneously. New developed material can be used as potential adsorbent in order to removal of methylene blue from various medium such as wastewater

Amaç: Van-Karagündüz Höyüğü birinci yapı katında yer alan ve Ortaçağ Dönemi ile tarihlendirilen mezarlık alanından çıkarılan diş ve çenelere sahip 188 erişkin bireye ait iskelet kalıntıları; dişlerde ve çenelerde iz bırakan patolojik lezyonları incelemek amacıyla araştırılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma materyalimizi 81 kadın (%43,09) ve 107 erkek (%56,91) olmak üzere toplam 188 erişkin bireye ait 2734 daimî diş ve 283 çene oluşturmaktadır. Bulgular: Erişkinlerin daimî dişlerinde, diş aşınması %95,54, diş çürüğü %6,36, hipoplazi %24,91, diştaşı %25,90, apse %1,86, periodontal hastalıklar içinde değerlendirilen alveol kaybı %40,64 ve ölüm öncesi (premortem) diş kaybı %18,73 oranında görülmektedir. Sonuç: Genel olarak tarım ve hayvancılığa dayalı bir yaşam biçimine sahip olduğu düşünülen Karagündüz Ortaçağ toplumunun beslenme rejimini, genellikle iyi öğütülmüş, fakat biraz lifli ve sert besinler oluşturmaktadır, Objectives: The skeletal remains belonging to 188 individuals with jaws and teeth from the medieval cemetery region of the first structured level of the VanKaragündüz Höyük have been investigated in order to study the pathological lesions. Materials and Methods: The material of this study is consisted of belonging to a total of 188 adult individuals, who composed from 81 women (43.09%) and 107 men (56,91%) (2734 permanent teeth and 283 jaws). Results: In the permanent teeth of adults, tooth wear was 95.54%, dental caries was 6.36%, hypoplasia was 24.91%, dental calculus was 25.90%, abscess was 1.86%, alveolar loss in periodontal diseases was 40.64% and (premortem) tooth loss is seen in proportion as18,73%. Anadolu’nun önemli dokuma merkezlerinden biri olan Sivas ve ilçelerinde, Türklerin Anadolu’ya göç ettikleri yıllardan bu yana dokuma yapıldığı bilinmektedir. Kırsal kesimde yaygın olarak yapılan dokumacılık birçok nedenden dolayı günümüzde yok olmaya yüz tutmuştur. Anadolu’da yüzyıllardır yapılagelen el sanatları ile onun önemli bir kolu olan dokumacılık, somut olmayan kültürel mirasın korunması sözleşmesinde yer aldıktan sonra, kirkitli dokumalar üzerine yapılan çalışmalar önem kazanmıştır. Özellikle şahıslara ait olan koleksiyonlarda kullanım amaçlı olduğu tespit edilen halılar, resmi olarak koruma altına alınamayacağı için belgeleme yoluna gidilmektedir. Bu amaçla halının, fotoğrafı çekilerek, teknik ve estetik özellikleri ile birlikte kimliği çıkartılıp, kayıt altına alınması gerekmektedir. Kangal halısının yöresel karakterinin belirlenmesi, desenlerin korunması ve yeniden yaşatılmasına yönelik olarak yapılan bu çalışmada; Sivas il merkezinde ve Kangal ilçesi Akçamağara, Alacahan, Kuzyaka ve Sarıpınar Köylerinde var olan el dokuması halılar incelenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerden bilgi formları oluşturularak, halıların teknik, desen ve motif özellikleri belirlenmiş, bazı halı fotoğrafları dijital ortamda düzenlenerek yeniden dokunabilir halı deseni haline getirilmiştir. Ayrıca halıların, renk, motif, kalite ve oluşturulan ürün türü için istatistiki veriler oluşturularak, yorumlanmıştır. İncelenen 25 adet halı örneğinin kullanım amacına göre; yastık, yaygı, portre/tablo, yolluk, divan halısı, minder ve duvar halısı olmak üzere 7 farklı şekilde ve ebatta dokunduğu belirlenmiştir. The widespread weaving in the countryside, however, has been disappearing due to many reasons today. With handicrafts and one of its important branch, weaving, carried out for centuries in Anatolia, have been officially involved in the protection of intangible cultural heritage, work on Kirkit textiles has gained importance - especially for carpets which are found to be for use in personally-owned collections. Documentation is being made because they cannot be officially protected. For this purpose, by taking photos of the carpets, it is necessary to issue identity documents together with their technical and aesthetic qualities, and further, to record it. In this study, which is aimed to determine the regional character of the Kangal carpets, to protect and renew the patterns, the hand-woven carpets existing in the villages of Akçamağara, Alacahan, Kuzyaka, and Sarıpınar villages of Kangal in Sivas province, were examined. By creating information forms from the data obtained in the research, the technical, pattern and motif characteristics of the carpets were determined and some carpet photographs were arranged in a digital environment and the patterns were made weavable. In addition, statistical data for the carpets, color, motif, quality, and product type, were created and interpreted. According to the purpose of usage of 25 carpets examined, it was determined that they were weaved with seven different shapes and sizes, including pillows, bowls, portraits, tables, carpets, divan carpets, cushions, and wall carpets. The quality of the coiled carpet is mostly composed of fine 40 × 40 and 50 × 50, extra fine 60 × 60. A total of number of 11 colors were employed, including brown, yellow, blue, orange, buff, and pink, with the main colors being red, black, white, green, and gray.

Lipases are widely distributed in nature and catalyze the hydrolysis of mono, di and tri acyl glycerols to liberate free fatty acids and glycerol. Various microorganisms produce lipases either alone or together with esterase. Lipases form an important group of relevant enzymes and they were used in a variety of biotechnological fields such as food, pharmaceutical, detergent, textile and cosmetic industries. Lipases from lactic acid bacteria may contribute in the development of flavors in foods especially meat products. The goal of the present study is to investigate the ability to produce lipolytic enzymes lactic acid bacteria strains, which is selected as potential probiotics and isolated on pastırma samples in our laboratory to determinate the possibilities of using as starter cultures in pastırma production. Lipolytic activity of lactic acid bacteria isolated from pastırma has not been investigated up to now. The plate assay is performed to screening lipolytic activity of lactic acid bacteria isolates. In the study, three different growth medium tried and each medium contain tributyrin as a substrate. Using these methods, 50 strains of lactic acid bacteria isolated from Turkish pastırma are screened for the presence of lipolytic activity. Because of the analysis, the lipolytic activity is observed in 25 tested strains. Çalışmamızda, sıçanlara enjekte edilen oksitosin, oksitosin reseptör antagonisti atosiban ve oksitosinatosiban hormonlarının, sıçanların kalp dokusunda karbonik anhidraz (CA) ve asetilkolinesteraz (AChE) enzim aktivitelerine etkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Bu amaçla, toplam 24 adet sıçandan oluşan dört farklı grup (n=6) oluşturuldu. (Kontrol grubu, oksitosin verilen grup, atosiban verilen grup ve oksitosin ile atosiban'ın birlikte verildiği grup). This study was conducted to determine the effect of diets containing different levels of thyme essential oil (Thymus vulgaris) on antioxidative metabolism in breast meat of quails. A total of 200 sixteen-day-old Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were used in this study. Animals were divided into four groups with five replicates of 10 animals each; control group was fed only basal diet but 150, 300 and 450 mg/kg thyme essential oil were added to diet of groups thyme 1, thyme 2 and thyme 3, respectively. At the end of the study, ten quails were selected randomly from every group and decapitated. The analyses were made on their breast meat. WOS: 000436137800011, Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of different power settings of potassium-titanylphosphate (KTP) laser in experimentally infected root canals. Methods: A total of 119 freshly extracted human single-rooted teeth with mature apices were selected for study. After preparation and sterilization, the specimens were inoculated with 15 mu L Enterococcus faecalis for 24 hours at 37 degrees C. The contaminated roots were divided into five experimental groups (1W, 1.5W, 2W, 3W, and 4W KTP laser), one negative control [sodium hypoclorite (NaOCl)] group, and one positive control [sterile saline (SF)] group of 17 teeth each. Before and after applications in the groups, samples retrieved with sterile paper points from the root canal were transferred to tubes containing 5 mL of the brain heart infusion broth. Next, 10 mu L of these suspensions were placed at two different sides of the blood agar medium. Bacterial reduction was counted according to the colony-forming units and data were statistically analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis and Tukey's tests. Results: The maximum decrease occurred in the 2.5% NaOCl (100%+/- 0.00%) group. WOS: 000435672000003, PubMed ID: 30207568, Objectives: This study aims to estimate the prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA) in Turkey using the same telephone questionnaire developed for screening RA and SpA in France and used in Serbia and Lithuania. Material and methods: The study was performed in two steps. In step I, the French questionnaire was translated into Turkish and validated through a group of 200 patients (80 males, 120 females; mean age 44.0 +/- 13.1 years; range, 19 to 75 years) followed up at the rheumatology departments of University Hospitals in Antalya and Ankara. In step II, the validated Turkish questionnaire was administered face-to-face to randomly selected 4,012 subjects (1,670 males, 2,342 females; mean age 41.5 +/- 16.8 years; range, 16 to 97 years) by trained general practitioners across the country, in 25 provinces for case detection. The subjects who were suspected of having RA or SpA in accordance with the questionnaire were invited to the nearest university hospital for rheumatologic examination in order to confirm the diagnosis. Results: In step II, a total of 25 subjects (2 males, 23 females) were diagnosed as RA. The standardized RA prevalence for the general population of Turkey was calculated as 0.56% (95% confidence interval [CI]; 0.33-0.79), 0.10% (95% CI; -0.05-0.25) for males and 0.89% (95% CI; 0.51-1.27) for females. A total of 18 subjects (3 males, 15 females) were diagnosed as SpA. The standardized SpA prevalence for the general population of Turkey was 0.46% (95% CI; 0.25-0.67), 0.17% (95% CI; -0.03-0.37) for males and 0.65% (95% CI; 0.32-0.98) for females. The prevalence of RA was highest in the Northern region (2.00%) and the prevalence of SpA was highest in the Central region (1.49%). Karın duvarının kas-aponörotik yapılarından köken alan fibromatozislere abdominal fibromatozis, abdominal desmoid tümör (DT), ya da agressif fibromatozis adı verilir. Fibromatozisler farklı anatomik lokalizasyonlarda farklı klinik özelliklerde olabilirler. DT genç kadınlarda daha sıktır. Çocuklarda ise oldukça ender bir durumdur. Bu yazıda 15 yaşında desmoid tümörlü bir erkek olgu sunuldu. Hasta hastanemize sağ lumbal bölgede büyüyen ağrılı bir kitlenin farkedilmesi üzerine sevk edilmişti. Hastanın öncesinde bilinen bir travma ya da operasyon öyküsü yoktu. Aktif olarak güreş yapmaktaydı. Ultrasonografisinde solid ve göreceli olarak iyi sınırlı kitle saptandı. Manyetik rezonans görüntülemede iyi sınırlı, abdominal transversalis kası ile internal abdominal oblique kasının fasyasından kaynaklanan kitle saptandı. Kitle genel anestezi altında total olarak eksize edildi. Kitlenin histopatolojik incelemesinde desmoid tümör tanısı konuldu. Sonuç olarak lateral abdominal bölgede ağrılı kitle yakınmasıyla başvuran çocuklarda DT de ayırıcı tanıda dikkate alınması gereken bir patolojidir. Fibromatoses occur at various anatomic locations with different clinical features. Abdominal fibromatosis tends to occur in young women. Conversely, in children is an extremely rare condition. Herein, we report the case of a 15-year-old boy with desmoid tumor. He was referred to our department because of a growing painful mass in the right lumbar area. There was no history of known trauma or surgery prior to the time. He was active wrestler. Ultrasonography demonstrated a solid and relatively well-circumscribed mass. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a well-defined tumor originating from the abdominal transversal muscle and internal abdominal oblique muscle fascia. The mass was total excised. The histological diagnosis was desmoid tumor. In conclusion, in child patients presenting a painful tumors of the lower abdominal wall as well as DT should be considered. Recurrent sports trauma during wrestling can be a factor for this tumor, in our case.

WOS: 000432307500004, Objective: We aimed to compare the efficacies of laminaria, vaginal misoprostol, and mechanical dilator applications before surgical intervention with regard to the optimal cervical dilation and severity of pain in first-trimester pregnant women with missed abortion. Materials and Methods: The prospective study included a total of 103 patients with a diagnosis of missed abortion in the sixth-tenth gestational week randomly divided into 3 groups of 400 pg vaginal misoprostol. luminaria. or mechanical dilator applications for the dilation of the cervix before surgical intervention. The effects of laminaria and vaginal misoprostol on the cervical ripening for surgical intervention were evaluated using the Hegar test. Visual analog scale (VAS) values were evaluated during the first application, throughout the period of their applications, and after the surgical intervention. Results: The cervical dilation was found to be similar in the laminaria and vaginal application groups (p=0.64). During the first application. laminaria caused more pain than misoprostol but the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.28). Throughout the period of application and after the surgical intervention. although there was less pain with respect to VAS values after laminaria application. this was not statistically significant (p=0.11). The VAS values after the surgical intervention was determined to be statistically higher after mechanical dilatation compared to other procedures (p=0.001). Conclusion: Laminaria provides cervical preparedness similar to intracervical misoprostol without increasing the side effects in the management of first-trimester pregnant women with missed abortion.

Amaç: Hemşirelerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamasında sıklıkla tercih ettikleri alanları saptamak ve intramüsküler enjeksiyonda kullanılacak alanlar hakkında bilgi düzeylerini değerlendirmektir. Yöntem: Kesitsel-tanımlayıcı nitelikteki bu araştırmanın örnekleminde 216 hemşire yer almıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında, araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanmış, 25 sorudan oluşan bir veri toplama formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bilgiler SPSS ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Hemşirelerin 147’si (%68,1) ventrogluteal alanın tercih edilmesi gerektiğini belirttiği halde, 141’i (%65,3) uygulamada halen dorsogluteal alanı tercih ettiğini bildirmektedir. Hemşirelerin 178’i (%82,4) intramüskül enjeksiyon uygulamalarına yönelik güncel bilgiyi takip etmediğini ve 133’ü (%61,6) hemşirelik eğitimlerinde ventrogluteal alanın kullanımına ilişkin kendilerine yeterli bilgi verilmediğini ifade etmiştir. Kadın hemşirelerin erkek hemşirelere oranla; intramüsküler enjeksiyon sırasında dorsogluteal alan tespiti (p=0,018), alan seçiminde yaş farkını dikkate alma (p=0,044), ventrogluteal alanı oluşturan kaslar (p=0,001) ve enjeksiyon alanlarına verilecek doğru ilaç miktarı (p=0,007) ile ilgili uygulamalarda bilgi düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Bulgularımız doğrultusunda hemşirelerin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamalarına yönelik teorik bilgileri yeterli olsa da, uygulamada daha çok dorsogluteal alanı tercih ettikleri, siyatik sinir yaralanma riskini ve enjeksiyon alanına uygun ilaç hacmini göz ardı ettikleri ve bu konudaki bilgilerini güncellemedikleri söylenebilir., Objective: To identify the sites that nurses usually prefer in intramuscular injection and to evaluate the level of knowledge about the sites to be used in intramuscular injection. Method: Two hundred and sixteen nurses were included in the sample of the cross-sectional, descriptive study. A questionnaire consisting of 25 questions prepared by the researchers in accordance with the literature was used to collect the data. The obtained information was analyzed by SPSS. Results: While 147 (68.1%) of the nurses stated that the ventrogluteal area should be preferred, 141 (65.3%) still prefered dorsogluteal area in practice. Of the nurses, 178 (82.4%) stated that they did not follow current information on intramuscular injection applications, and 133 (61.6%) stated that they were not given enough information about the use of ventrogluteal area in nursing education. Compared to male nurses, female nurses had more knowledge about detection of dorsogluteal area during intramuscular injection (p=0.018), considering the age difference in the area selection (p=0.044), the muscles forming the ventrogluteal area (p=0.001) and the correct amount of drug to be given to injection sites (p=0.007). Conclusion: The findings suggest that although the theoretical information of nurses about intramuscular injection applications is sufficient, they preferred dorsogluteal area more in practice, ignored the risk of sciatic nevre injury and appropriate drug volume in the injection site and did not update their information on the subject.

Although cardiologists use traditional clinical methods such as electrocardiography and blood tests for heart attack prediction, computer aided diagnosis systems that use machine learning methods are also in use for this task. In this study, we used machine learning and feature selection algorithms together. Our aim is to determine the best machine learning method and the best feature selection algorithm to predict heart attacks. For this purpose, many machine learning methods with optimum parameters and several feature selection methods were used and evaluated on the Statlog (Heart) dataset. According to the experimental results, the best machine learning algorithm is the support vector machine algorithm with the linear kernel, while the best feature selection algorithm is the reliefF method. This pair gave the highest accuracy value of 84.81%.

Haneke's directorial film career began with television and thenwent on to the cinema. The movie filmography of Haneke consists of twelve filmsso far. The most distinctive feature of Haneke's cinema is that the directorshares his views on the corruption of post-modernism society with his visualstyle through indicators and metaphors with his audience. The main themes inthe director's films, which have an uncomfortable and harsh style are lack ofcommunication, racism, violence, normalization of violence, media manipulation,and the effects of the media on society. In this study, the indicators andmetaphors that constitute the narrative language of the Haneke cinema weresolved by the method of discourse analysis and tried to create a differentperspective on the cinema of the director. As examples, the films "TheSeventh Continent", "Benny's Video" and "Funny Games"were selected. The main themes in these films are individualism and bourgeoiscriticism based on the normalization of violence in the means of communication.Trying to make sense of metaphors with a definite language simply meansdepriving them of the imagination they owe to their existence. The solutionsand the conclusions reached in this research are a combination of the author’s ownimagination and the repertoire. As a result, the process of making sense of artis different for everyone. This work covers these aspects in the sense ofrespect for Michael Haneke.

Günümüz rekabet ortamında ortaya çıkan gelişmelerden, her sektörde olduğu gibi eğitim sektörü de etkilenmiştir. Eğitim sektörü hizmet sektörü arasında yer alan, ulusal ve ekonomik gelişmenin temel bir katılımcısı ve yapıtaşı olarak kabul edilen bir sektördür. Eğitim kalitesi üniversiteler için bir sorundur ve dünya çapında pek çok üniversite öğrencilerin memnuniyetini kazanmak için çaba sarf etmektedir. Her kurum gibi, eğitim kurumları da günümüzün rekabetçi piyasası içinde hayatta kalmaya çalışmak, bu amaçla da güçlü bir imaja sahip olmak zorundadır. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın amacı Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi imajına etki eden faktörleri tespit ederek öğrencilerin aldığı hizmet kalitesinin, öğrenci memnuniyetinin ve ağızdan ağıza pazarlamanın üniversite imajının oluşmasında etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi’nde eğitim görmekte olan 326 öğrenciye yüz yüze anket uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca, üniversitesinden memnun olan öğrencilerin üniversitedeki ve diğer arkadaşlarıyla hislerini paylaşma eğiliminde olduğu sonucu da ortaya çıkmıştır., The developments in today's competitive environment have affected the education sector as well as in every sector. The education sector is a major participant in the national and economic development of the service sector and is considered a building block. The quality of education is a challenge for universities and is endeavoring to win the satisfaction of many university students around the world. Like any institution, educational institutions must also have a strong image for this purpose in order to survive in today's competitive market. In this context, the aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the image of Cumhuriyet University and to show the effect of the students' service quality, student satisfaction and marketing of their word of mouth on university image formation. Within this scope, 326 students who are studying at Cumhuriyet University have applied a face to face questionnaire. The questionnaire required for the study was prepared using the scale developed by Khalifa and Mahmoud (2015). Regression analysis was performed on the obtained data and it was determined that the most important factor affecting the image of Cumhuriyet University’s from the subordinate elements of word of mouth marketing and then the satisfaction and service quality respectively. In addition, the result is that students who are satisfied with the university tend to share their feelings with colleagues and other colleagues.

WOS:000435672000002, PubMed ID: 30207576, Objectives: This study aims to establish the first national treatment recommendations by the Turkish League Against Rheumatism (TLAR) for psoriatic arthritis (PsA) based on the current evidence. Materials and methods: A systematic literature review was performed regarding the management of PsA. The TLAR expert committee consisted of 13 rheumatologists and 12 physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists experienced in the treatment and care of patients with PsA from 22 centers. The TLAR recommendations were built on those of European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) 2015. Levels of evidence and agreement were determined. Results: Recommendations included five overarching principles and 13 recommendations covering therapies for PsA, particularly focusing on musculoskeletal involvement. Level of agreement was greater than eight for each item. Conclusion: This is the first paper that summarizes the recommendations of TLAR as regards the treatment of PsA. We believe that this paper provides Turkish physicians dealing with PsA patients a practical guide in their routine clinical practice.

Bu amaçla sektörde faaliyet gösteren firmaların 2014-2016 yılları arasındaki finansal tablo verileri kullanılarak finansal performans analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulanık Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi yöntemi ile kriter olarak kullanılan finansal oranların önem dereceleri tespit edilmiş, daha sonra VIKOR yöntemi ile firmaların performanslarına yönelik finansal analiz ve değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Kriterlerin önem derecelerinin tespitinde Bulanık AHP yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bulanık AHP yönteminin uygulanmasında Liou ve Wang’ın toplam integral yöntemine göre sıralama yapılmış ve sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Bulanık AHP yönteminin, bulanıklık içeren durumlarda ve bulanık veriler ile analiz yapılırken seçim, sıralama ve değerlendirme problemlerinde diğer yöntemlerle bütünleşik olarak kullanılabileceği değerlendirilmiştir., In this study, the financial performances of individual pension companies were evaluated with the methods of Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) from multi-criteria decision making methods. For this purpose, the financial performance analysis of the companies operating in the sector was performed using the financial statement data between 2014-2016. With the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process method, the importance ratios of the financial ratios used as criteria were determined and then the financial analysis and evaluation were done with the VIKOR method for the performance of firms. The Fuzzy AHP method was used to determine the significance of the criteria. In the implementation of the fuzzy AHP method, the order of Liou and Wang's total integral method was evaluated and the results were evaluated. It has been evaluated that the fuzzy AHP method can be used integrally with other methods in selection, sorting and evaluation problems while analyzing with blurred states and with blurred data.

Biz bu yazıda 47 yaşında bir kadında sol frontal bölge lateralindeki sinüs perikranii olgusunun klinik ve doppler US, beyin tomografi,3 boyutlu volüme rendering görüntüleme, manyetik rezonans görüntüleme, manyetik rezonans venografi ve digital substraksiyon anjiyografi bulgularını literatür eşliğinde sunuyoruz., Sinus pericranii (SP) is a very rare venous anomaly and characterized by communication of pericranial varicose venous structures with dural sinus. In this case, we present the multimodality imaging Doppler ultrasonography (Doppler US), computed tomography (CT), 3D-volume rendering technique computed tomography (3D-VRT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance venography (MRV), digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and clinical findings of a 47-year-old woman with SP in the left lateral frontal region of the scalp under the guidance of theliterature.
