• L'atteinte structural rachidienne sévère (pont osseux cervical/lombaire) est associé à un coefficient d'atténuation scanographique (CAS) plus bas. • Le CAS décroît progressivement avec la sévérité de l'atteinte structurale rachidienne. • L'ankylose vertébrale lombaire est associée à un risque accru de CAS ≤ 145 UH. • Le scanner est une alternative pour la réalisation d'un dépistage opportuniste de la fragilité osseuse chez les patients atteints de spondylarthrite ankylosante. • La mesure du CAS est reproductible et utilisable en pratique quotidienne. Les patients atteints de spondyloarthrite ankylosante (SA) semblent avoir un risque accru d'ostéoporose mais ne sont que rarement dépistés. L'objectif de cette étude est d'évaluer l'effet de l'ankylose rachidienne sur le coefficient d'atténuation scanographique (CAS) des vertèbres lombaires dans la SA. Cette étude inclut des patients atteints de SA selon les critères de New-York et qui ont bénéficié, à la fois d'un scanner thoraco-abdomino-pelvien et d'un bilan radiographique durant leur suivi. Le modified stoke ankylosing spondylitis spinal score (mSASSS) a été évalué sur les radiographies, et la présence d'au moins un syndesmophyte (mSASSS ≥ 2) définissait les patients mSASSS+. L'ankylose d'une vertèbre lombaire était définie comme la présence de ponts osseux avec les 2 vertèbres adjacentes. Le CAS a été mesuré de L1 à L5, et le seuil fracturaire était défini par un CAS ≤ 145 unités Hounsfield (UH). Soixante-treize SA ont été incluses (âge moyen : 60,3 (±10,7) ans, 65 hommes (89 %)). Soixante patients (82,2 %) étaient mSASSS+ ; 13 patients (17,8 %) présentaient une ankylose d'au moins une vertèbre lombaire. Le CAS de chaque vertèbre lombaire n'était pas significativement différent entre les groupes mSASSS- et mSASSS+. Le CAS était plus bas chez les patients ayant au moins un pont osseux que chez ceux sans (p < 0,05). Les patients avec une ankylose rachidienne lombaire étaient plus à risque de présenter un CAS≤145UH (OR : 4,95 (IC95 % : 1,1–17,4)). La présence de pont osseux et d'une ankylose complète de vertèbres lombaires est significativement associée à un surrisque d'un CAS sous le seuil fracturaire, suggérant une dégradation de l'os trabéculaire chez les patients atteints de SA avec ankylose rachidienne. The implementation of a project such as the Industrial Land Map will require a high dose of coordination among the stakeholders, as well as the correct choice of data formats and technological platforms that support it. The concept of Smart Digital Reality is proposed, an important pillar in Hexagon's strategy, to bridge the gap between reality and digital. It will be necessary to capture information with sensors that include LIDAR and panoramic images, which by means of software tools will generate 3D models such as BIM. The next step will be to have a data management platform that centralizes and normalizes the information captured to make it available to the ecosystem. Finally, the information will be accessible through data visualization and analysis applications that offer very high performance, and the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques for its analysis. Un appendice épiploïque est une formation graisseuse sous séreuse pédiculée de la surface externe du colon, recouverte de péritoine. La vascularisation est terminale. La localisation préférentielle est le colon gauche. Une appendagite, ou torsion de frange épiploïque, est une inflammation isolée d'un appendice épiploïque. La tomodensitométrie objective une: masse de densité graisseuse intra-péritonéale, accolée au colon, souvent ovale, bien limitée par un fin liseré de densité plus élevée, réhaussé après injection de produit de contraste iodé (« small ovoid fatty mass » avec un « ring sign »).

This paper describes our research on implementing a scanner and parsers for Z specifications. Rather to code them from scratch, we use tools that have specialities on creating such tasks. These tools generate several Java files which can be integrated with a main program in Java. Our research could produce a scanner and parser for Z specifications. These tools could benefit Z specifications to be studied further.

The article presents probe active control devices (ACD) of the size of products, describes the composition, versions, principle and modes of operation. The measurements are carried out by two-coordinate vibration oscillations of the tip along a closed path with a section of co-directional motion and mechanical contact of the lс with the surface of the moving product. The tip moves vtip with a slight lag from products vdet with a small relative velocity , thus implementing a moving feeling, like a needle profilometer or a cantilever, measuring its position in two coordinates lx and ly. The measurements consist of a sequence of such feelings. The article discusses the issues of the functionality, continuity and accuracy of probe ACD measurements.

Absensi merupakan salah satu instrument yang sangat penting dalam penyelenggaraan perkuliahan. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pengawasan yang baik mengenai absensi kehadiran mahasiswa, absensi dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu tolak ukur seorang mahasiswa terhadap antusias keikutsertaanya dalam perkuliahan. Penyelenggaraan Pendidikan pada Kampus Amik Mahaputra Riau juga menerapkan sistem absensi pada jadwal perkuliahan, dimana absensi mahasiswa masih menggunakan metode tanda tangan pada lembaran absen yang dibagikan pada setiap perkuliahan. Kelemahan dalam penerapan absensi dengan metode manual ini sering terjadi kecurangan titip absen, mahasiswa yang lupa mengisi absen sehingga terjadi kesalahan, serta tidak efisien karena butuh waktu lama dalam perekapan data dari absensi manual. Aplikasi Absen dengan Barcode merupakan solusi yang memanfaatkan Teknologi Informasi Mobile yang mampu menangani permasalahan selama proses absensi dan dapat mengakomodir proses perekaman data absensi, sehingga proses rekapitulasi dapat dilakukan lebih cepat dan akurat. Proses absensi dapat dilakukan dengan menscan kode Barcode yang telah dipersiapkan oleh Admin dalam hal ini BAAK, dalam bentuk card menggunakan aplikasi yang telah diinstal pada smartphone, selanjutnya mahasiswa akan menscan Barcode menggunakan Aplikasi absensi yang di instal pada Smartphone, kemudian data absensi dikirimkan ke database. Penerapkan absensi menggunakan barcode scanner berbasis android menjadi solusi dalam pemecahan masalah pengelolaan data absensi dan memiliki keunggulan dapat melakukan pengambilan absensi dengan cepat, tepat dan akurat, sehingga monitoring pelaksanaan dan pengelolaan absensi dapat dilakukan secara praktis dan efisien.

L'hématome sous-capsulaire spontané rompu du foie est un phénomène très rare et très peu décrit dans la littérature. Ils surviennent généralement chez les femmes au cours d'une pathologie hépatique sous-jacente ou au décours d'une grossesse souvent dans le cadre d'un HELLP (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, Low Platelet count) syndrome. Nous rapportons le cas d'un volumineux hématome sous capsulaire hépatique chez un homme de 60 ans sans antécédents pathologiques connus, admis aux urgences pour douleur de l'hypochondre droit évoluant depuis une semaine d'intensité modérée qui s'est aggravé il y a deux jours par un syndrome grippal associant toux, une expectoration jaunâtre des sueurs. A l'examen clinique nous avons retrouvé un abdomen sensible à la palpation de l'hypochondre droit et de l'hypogastre, le reste de l'examen clinique était normal. A la biologie le taux d'hémoglobine était à 7,8g/dl, VGM: 79,9, les reticulocytes à 48,9. Le scanner a montré un volumineux hématome sous capsulaire hépatique de 17cm de hauteur, 14cm de diamètre transversale et 5cm d'épaisseur et un nodule hépatique de 10mm (A) avec un hémopéritoine de grande abondance sans saignement actif (B). Le patient a bénéficié d'une laparotomie en chirurgie viscérale avec des suites post opératoires favorables.

The discovery of a Roman mosaic from the 2nd century AD in Cantillana (Seville) generated interest and the need for exhaustive documentation, so that it could be recreated with real measurements in a 3D model, not only to obtain an exact replica, but with the intention of analyzing and studying the behavior of two main geomatics techniques. Thus, the objective of this study was the comparative analysis of both techniques: near object photogrammetry by SfM and terrestrial laser scanner or TLS. The aim of this comparison was to assess the use of both techniques in archaeological excavations. Special attention was paid to the accuracy and precision of measurements and models, especially in altimetry. Mosaics are frequently relocated from their original location to be exhibited in museums or for restoration work, after which they are returned to their original place. Therefore, the altimetric situation is of special relevance. To analyze the accuracy and errors of each technique, a total station was used to establish the real values of the ground control points (GCP) on which the comparisons of both methods were to be made. It can be concluded that the SfM technique was the most accurate and least limiting for use in semi-buried archaeological excavations. This manuscript opens new perspectives for the use of SfM-based photogrammetry in archaeological excavations.

The tetrazolium test can be an alternative to obtain fast results of the physiological potential of wheat seeds. In this context, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the efficiency of the tetrazolium test through the evaluation by analysis of digitized images in the determination of the physiological quality of wheat seeds. The experiment was carried out with 22 lots of wheat seeds, submitted to the determination of the physiological potential, including the tetrazolium test evaluated by means of digitized image analysis. For digitization, after longitudinal bisection, and staining in 0.075% tetrazolium solution, the seeds were grouped on tabletop scanner glass, stored and classified into four vigor classes. Data were submitted to analysis of variance, with means grouped by the Scott-Knott test, at 5% of significance; we also performed an analysis of the simple correlation coefficients between tetrazolium test results and other tests. The evaluation of the tetrazolium test through the analysis of digitized images grouped the lots in three levels of vigor. The method is effective in determining the vigor and viability of wheat seeds, because the possibility of expanding the images that allows precise analysis of the embryonic axis structures. A 1D MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) mirror for LiDAR applications, based on vertically asymmetric comb-drive electrostatic actuators, is presented in this work employing a novel fabrication process. This novel micromachining process combines typical SOI-based bulk micromachining and grayscale lithography, enabling the fabrication of combs actuators with asymmetric heights using a single lithography step in the active layer. With this technique, the fabrication process is simplified, and the overall costs are reduced since the number of required lithography steps decrease. The fabricated mirrors present self-aligned electrodes with a $2.8~\mu \text{m}$ gap and asymmetric heights of the movable and the fixed electrodes of 20 $\mu \text{m}$ and 50 $\mu \text{m}$ , respectively. These asymmetric actuators are an essential feature for the operation mode of this device, enabling both in resonant and static mode operation. A mirror field of view (FOV) of 54° at 838 Hz was achieved under low-pressure, when resonantly operated, and a FOV of 0.8° in the static mode. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Radiation therapy (RT) is one of the main modalities of cancer treatment worldwide with computed tomography (CT), as the most commonly used imaging method for treatment planning system (TPS). Image reconstruction errors may greatly affect all the radiation therapy planning process, such as target delineation, dose calculation and delivery, particularly with particle therapy. Metallic implants, such as hip and spinal implants, and dental filling significantly deteriorate image quality. These hardware structures are often very complex in geometry leading to geometric complex artefacts in the clinical target volume (CTV) area, rendering the delineation of CTV challenging. In our review, we focus on the methods to overcome artefact consequences on CTV delineation: 1– medical approaches anticipating issues associated with imaging artefacts during preoperative multidisciplinary discussions while following standard recommendations; 2– common metal artefact reduction (MAR) methods such as manually override artefact regions, ballistics avoiding beam paths through implanted materials, megavoltage-CT (MVCT); 3– prospects with radiolucent implants, MAR algorithms and various methods of dual energy computed tomography (DECT). Despite substantial and broad evidence for their benefits, there is still no universal solution for cases involving implanted metallic devices. The present study aimed to examine three methods for imaging a complete denture form and to discuss the geometric assessment and availability of these methods. Three methods were used: cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), desktop dental scanning (DDS), and handheld optical scanning (HOS). Three sides of a cuboid resin block of a known size were measured on the captured images. Ten upper and lower complete dentures were digitized using each of the three methods. The denture forms in the standard triangulated language format were reconstructed using the computer aided design software with three resolutions: 0.1, 0.5 and 1.0. The two images were superimposed through a least-square algorithm, and the mean differences were examined among the three types of imaging methods and resolutions. The smallest mean differences and variations were obtained for CBCT and DDS, followed by HOS in the experiment using resin block. The lengths of longitudinal and horizontal sides were shortened in CBCT and DDS, whereas the height was shortened in HOS. The variations in each direction were very small by repetitive imaging within every imaging method. The difference between the CBCT and DDS was significantly smaller than that in the other two groups in experiment using actual dentures. The influence of resolution was comparatively low. The results suggested that CBCT and DDS had a similar geometric assessment, but that of the HOS was lower. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: To evaluate and compare the internal fit and marginal fit of zirconia copings fabricated using CAD-CAM from impressions and model. Material and Methods: Using a standardized die, 15 impressions group 1 and 15 models group 2 were made with standardized protocol. All impressions and models were scanned and virtual models were made. Using the CAD data, zirconia copings were fabricated and cemented using silicone under finger pressure and standardized sections of the silicone were made and thicknesses were measured at eleven specific points under stereomicroscope. Statistical analysis used: ANOVA Results: Mean Internal gap value of Group 1 was 292.4µ ± 23.48 and Group 2 was 258.54 µ ± 22.83 µ, Mean Marginal Gap value of group 1 was 252.64µ ± 11.86 µ and group 2 was 232.18 µ ± 06.24 µ, ANOVA test showed statistical significance with p value >0.05 Conclusions: Within the limitations of the study, mean marginal gaps of both the groups were within clinically acceptable range. • Pain requiring morphine use was significantly associated with a risk of urological complications on imaging findings. • Pain intensity as assessed by visual analogue scale was not associated with the risk of urological complications on imaging findings. • Age and history of urolithiasis highly increased the likelihood of urological complications diagnosed on imaging findings. These clinical criteria could help detect good candidates for initial imaging study among patients with pyelonephritis. • The high rate (45%) of urological complications on imaging findings in patients with "uncomplicated" pyelonephritis presenting at the emergency department might argue in favor of systematic initial imaging study in these patients. To identify predictive factors of urological complication on imaging findings in women with pyelonephritis aged 18 to 65 years. We performed an observational, retrospective, single-center study. The medical charts of women diagnosed with pyelonephritis at the emergency department from 2010 to 2015 were reviewed. Only patients who underwent an imaging study at the emergency department and with microbiologically confirmed pyelonephritis were included for analysis. The primary endpoint was the presence of urological complications on imaging findings. The secondary endpoint was treatment changes after imaging diagnosis. Of the 193 women enrolled, 88 (45.6%) had urological complication(s) on imaging findings. The multivariate analysis revealed that history of urolithiasis (OR = 2.41; P = 0.01) and pain requiring morphine use (OR = 5.29; P = 0.009) were predictive of urological complications on imaging findings. Of the 120 women with uncomplicated pyelonephritis who underwent imaging studies, 45% had urological complication, resulting in a treatment change in 36.7% of patients. The multivariate analysis revealed that age > 40 years (OR = 4.58; P = 0.02) and pain requiring morphine use (OR = 3.78; P = 0.02) were predictive of urological complication(s) on imaging findings and of treatment change based on imaging findings (OR = 6.76; P = 0.005 and OR = 4.19; P = 0.01 respectively) in this subgroup. Pain requiring morphine use, age, and history of urolithiasis are independent predictors of urological complications on imaging findings in patients with acute pyelonephritis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Résumé: Nous rapportons deux cas d' arteria lusoria paucisymptomatiques, de découverte fortuite au scanner. Le premier cas était un jeune homme, âgé de 39 ans, sous traitements antituberculeux et antirétroviraux, présentant une dysphagie haute aux aliments solides depuis l'enfance, pour lequel la fibroscopie digestive avait objectivé une sténose œsophagienne et suspectait une fistule broncho-œsophagienne, motivant la réalisation d'un scanner thoracique. Le deuxième cas était un homme âgé de 58 ans, présentant une artère sous-clavière droite aberrante rétro-œsophagienne, découverte lors d'un scanner thoraco-abdomino-pelvien, demandé pour bilan d'extension d'un adénocarcinome gastrique et une dyspnée. Chez ces deux patients, la présence de cette variante anatomique de la naissance du trajet de l'artère sous-clavière droite était de découverte fortuite, lors d'une tomodensitométrie pour d'autres indications, bien que la dysphagie haute était présente dès leur jeune âge. We report two cases of paucisymptomatic arteria lusoria, discovered by chance on CT. The first case was a young man, aged 39, on antituberculosis and antiretroviral treatment, presenting high dysphagia on solid foods since childhood, for whom gastrointestinal fibroscopy had revealed esophageal stenosis and suspected a broncho-oesophageal fistula, motivating performing a chest scan. The second case was a 58-year-old man with an aberrant retro-oesophageal right subclavian artery, discovered during a thoraco-abdomino-pelvic CT scan, requested for assessment of extension of gastric adenocarcinoma and dyspnea. In these two patients, the presence of this anatomical of the birth of the course of the right subclavian artery is incidentally discovered, during a computed tomography for other indications, although the upper dysphagia was present from their young age. Résumé: Nous rapportons une cause rare d'hydrocéphalie chez un patient présentant un volumineux anévrisme fusiforme du tronc basilaire vu au scanner cérébral, indiqué pour un trouble de conscience chez un homme âgé de 74 ans, hypertendu à haut risque cardiovasculaire. Le scanner cérébral permet d'établir le diagnostic et d'éliminer les diagnostics différentiels comme les autres causes d'hydrocéphalie obstructive, à défaut des autres examens plus invasifs tels que l'angiographie cérébrale. We report a rare cause of hydrocephalus in a patient with a large fusiform aneurysm of the basilar trunk see on a brain CT-scan, indicated for a disorder of consciousness in a 74 years old hypertensive man with high cardiovascular risk. The cerebral CT-scan allows to establish the diagnosis and to eliminate differential diagnoses like the other causes of obstructives hydrocephalus, in the absence of other more invasive tests such as cerebral angiography. Background: How the accuracy of complete‐arch implant scans is affected when different intraoral scanners (IOSs) are used and the effect of scan body position on the accuracy are not well‐known. Purpose To compare the scan accuracy (trueness and precision) of a recently introduced IOS (Virtuo Vivo) to a commonly used IOS (TRIOS 3) and the scans of a laboratory scanner (LBS; Cares 7 SERIES) in a completely edentulous maxilla with four implants. It was also aimed to evaluate the effect of scan body position on the accuracy. Materials and Methods: Multi‐unit scan bodies were tightened on a poly(methyl methacrylate) edentulous maxillary model with four implants. A master reference model (MRM) stereolithography (STL) file was generated by scanning the model with a high‐precision scanner. The model was scanned with three different scanners (n = 10); two different IOSs and a LBS. STL files were superimposed over the MRM. Results: For trueness, scan body position (P =.004) and scanner type (P <.001) had a significant effect on distance deviation and a significant interaction was found (P =.001). For angular deviation, only scanner type had a significant effect (P =.028). For precision, significant difference was found for distance (P =.011) and angular deviations (P =.020) between different scanner types. Conclusions: One scanner type was not superior to others when both trueness and precision were considered. Position of the scan body affected the distance deviation (trueness). Aim: The aim of this work was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of imaging examinations in the presence of acute non-traumatic abdominal pain. Materials and methods: This was a prospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study over 6 months in the radiology and medical imaging department of the Kaolack Regional Hospital, including any patient received for acute non-traumatic abdominal pain with informed consent in whom the etiological diagnosis is supported by an imaging examination. We investigated the etiologies of acute abdominal pain and compared the imaging findings with surgical exploration. Our data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and Excel 2013 with a coefficient of significance of less than 5%. Results: 106 patients were enrolled. The mean age was 32 years and the gender-ratio was 1.52 in favour of women. Acute abdominal pain was diffuse in 25.5% of patients and localized in 74.5%, of which 18.9% were at right iliac fossa. Abdominal X-ray was performed alone in 4 patients (3.8%), ultrasound alone in 46 patients (43.3%) and abdominal CT scan in 34 patients (32%). CT was combined with ultrasound in 6 patients (5.7%) and with abdominal X-ray in 16 patients (15%). The initial clinical diagnosis was corrected in 49.1% of patients. The sensitivity of the imaging compared to the final diagnosis retained was 96.2%. Conclusion: Imaging represents a turning point in the management of patients with acute non-traumatic abdominal pain by providing better diagnostic guidance and avoiding serious complications and unnecessary interventions. Lightweight design is usually a critical criterion in many engineering fields. In addition to the well-developed method topology optimization, structural bionics is also considered an effective approach to obtain innovative designs with lightweight. In nature, trees have evolved highly developed root systems to maximize the efficiency in anchorage. Inspired by the 3D branch structure of plant roots, this paper selects the root system of pine trees as a biological prototype for the optimization of a scanner which has a strict requirement for the flatness. First, a topology-optimized structure of the scanner is modeled and simulated for its mechanical behavior. Next, architectural and mechanical characteristics of the tap root system of pine trees are investigated through sensitivity analysis. Similarity analysis between the root system and the scanner is performed from three aspects. Then, by imitating the spatial configuration of pine tree roots, a bionic design for the scanner is proposed and modeled. Finally, finite element method (FEM) is carried out to evaluate the mechanical performance of the original model, the bionic model, and the topology-optimized model in terms of weight, dynamics response, and specific stiffness efficiency. Comparison results show that the proposed bionic model provides the best lightweight solution for the scanner, followed by the topology-optimized model. The proposed bionic model suggests a new solution to the design of the supporting system of "tower-like" structures and extends the application of branch-based bionics from planar systems to complex spatial systems. Nowadays digital methods of nondestructive testing using full-scale semi-conductor X-Ray plane-parallel detectors became developed instead of film radiography in the world practice. These transducers cannot find wide practical application in Ukraine, because of their high cost. We proposed X-Ray TV systems based on relatively inexpensive miniature solid-state transducers. Background: The purpose of this study was to assess marginal gaps of CAD/CAM lithium disilicate crowns constructed using two different intraoral scanners of different generations.Methods: Twenty four Columbia model lower left molars were prepared for lithium disilicate crowns in a simulated environment by undergraduate students. The crown preparations were scanned by E4D and Trios 3 intraoral scanners and CAD/CAM lithium disilicate crowns designed and manufactured. The crowns were seated onto the original crown preparations and three vertical marginal gap measurements taken at four locations (mid-buccal, mid-lingual, mid-mesial and mid-distal) using a stereomicroscope. The mean marginal gap (MMG) was calculated for each crown and each individual tooth surface.Results: The MMG was not statistically significantly different for the Trios 3 and E4D scanners (P = 0.111). There was no statistically significant effect of measurement location on the tooth on the marginal gap (P = 0.1134).Conclusions: There was no difference in the MMGs of CAD/CAM lithium disilicate crowns constructed using two different intraoral scanners of different generations. Résumé: L'hématome intramural (HIM) de l'aorte fait partie des syndromes aortiques douloureux. L'HIM peut survenir de façon spontanée, se développer à partir d'un ulcère athéromateux pénétrant, ou être secondaire à un traumatisme de la paroi aortique externe ou interne. La localisation sur la portion sous-rénale de l'aorte reste rare et peut poser un problème diagnostique. Nous rapportons un cas d'HIM de l'aorte sous-rénale évoluant dans un contexte de douleur abdominale non spécifique, suite à un traumatisme externe par massage chez un homme de 53 ans, et exposons ses particularités radiologiques. Aortic intramural hematoma (IMH) is an entity of acute aortic syndrome. In IMH, haemorrhage occurs within the aortic wall in the absence of intimal disruption. IMH may occur spontaneously, develop from penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer, or be secondary to the external or internal aortic injuries. IMH can regress spontaneously or evolve into aortic dissection. Hematoma of the descending aorta also has a better prognosis than dissecting hematoma. Subrenal aorta IMH localisation is rare. We report a case of IMH of the subrenal aorta evolving in non-specific abdominal pain, after a massage, and expose its radiological particularities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: According to the NATO classification, the difference between Role 2 and Role 2+ is the presence of extra diagnostic and therapeutic means, including the deployment of a scanner. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of this deployment at the front, in the Gao French Role 2 (Mali). Our main hypothesis is that the presence of a scanner at the front improves the servicemen's diagnostic and therapeutic management abilities. Secondly that scanner holds strategic relevance by limiting the repatriation of servicemen on medical grounds.Materials and Methods: A prospective analytical observational study was conducted over 6 months within Gao's Role 2. All the French military patients who received a scanner were involved. The collected data was epidemiological, clinical and radiological in nature, and included the results from the scanner and data regarding the operational impact (repatriation). The principal judgment criterion was the rate of modification of the therapeutic decision. The secondary criterion was the modification of the repatriation decision on medical grounds.Results: Of the 45 patients examined, in 14 cases (31.1%), performing a scanner changed patients' therapeutic management in relation to the management, which would have been conducted in the scanner's absence. For 12 of these patients (85.7%), the indication of the scanner concerned visceral or cranium-spine pathologies. For 33 patients (73.3%), the scanner enabled diagnosis via the elimination of an organic injury or a severity criterion. The repatriation decision remained unchanged for many patients.Discussion: The scanner appears to be a significant factor in the initial therapeutic decision. Scanning made it possible to clarify the diagnosis and to better adapt the initial therapeutic decision. In contrast, the operational impact was null. The literature highlights the relevance of scanner in surgical abstention (limiting unnecessary operative procedures), and for the visceral, cranium-cerebral and spine pathologies in an emergency.Conclusion: The scanner, a heavy logistic unit deployed within a forward surgical unit, holds therapeutic relevance for French servicemen's management with an important medical service provided for the therapeutic choices, although its operational impact has yet to be demonstrated. Le nombre de procédures TAVI ne cesse d'augmenter chaque année en parallèle à l'élargissement des indications. Le succès procédural et à plus long terme passe par l'identification des patients susceptibles d'en bénéficier et par une préparation méticuleuse de la procédure lors du bilan pré-TAVI. Les objectifs de ce bilan sont multiples : validation de l'indication clinique, faisabilité de la procédure, sélections de la prothèse et de la voie d'abord et anticipation des difficultés techniques. Le scanner de la valve et des axes vasculaires est incontournable et représente la pierre angulaire de ce bilan. L'évaluation gériatrique garde toute sa place chez les patients âgés, fragiles, à haut risque ou contre-indiqués à la chirurgie. L'évaluation des comorbidités cardiaques et extracardiaques est systématique et pourra être intégrée dans des scores de risques dédiés afin d'aider à la stratification du risque à moyen et long termes par la Heart Team. The number of TAVI procedures is rapidly increasing owing to the extension of indications. Procedural and long-term success warrant appropriate patient selection and rigorous preparation of the procedure during the pre-TAVI work-up. The aims of this work-up are several: validation of the indication, feasibility and safety of the procedure, selection of the prosthesis and of the route, anticipation of technical challenges. The CT-scan is the cornerstone of this assessment allowing for valve and vascular access appraisal. The geriatric evaluation remains important in the elderly, frail, high-risk patients. The assessment of cardiac and extracardiac comorbidities is systematic and may be incorporated into dedicated risk scores to improve the prediction of post-TAVI outcomes; this should be the basis of the decision-making process by the Heart Team. In literature, it is known that a Light Emitting Diode (LED) could be used as a light sensor. It is also known that its emitted light spectrum and sensitivity spectrum can be partially overlapped. This work presents how commercial LEDs can be used as light emitters and simultaneously as sensors of the reflected portion of the light emitted by themselves. The realized devices present a unique characteristic: the transmitter and the receiver coincide spatially as they are the same device. This ensures the perfect overlapping between transmission and reception radiation lobes that could provide many benefits in several applications like as distance measurements or image sensors. Some simple electronic configurations that use LEDs as detectors of their own emitted light are presented. It has been also demonstrated how these LEDs Tx-Rx can work as image sensors by acquiring an image of a simple test object, and how they can realize distance sensors with respect to other known techniques. Further advantages can be obtained by realizing LED Tx-Rx array in single integrated devices. With the realization of such devices, it will be also possible to experiment new constructive solutions for commonly used applications, without the need of using separate emitter and receiver.
