Abstract

Flooding disaster causes huge impacts on the socio-economic world. In the inundated area, some geo-referenced images are shared through some media posts, which assist in providing alertness to the critical volunteers and managing the financial loss crisis. In this work, the Adaptive Billiards-Inspired Optimization (A-BIO) and Optimized Ensemble-learning-based detection (OED) with map reduce framework is proposed for flood disaster detection. Initially, the big data is gathered and processed for detection. During the map phase, data preprocessing is performed to enhance the performance of the data, which helps in removing the noise or unwanted attributes. Furthermore, the reduction phase can be done through weighted feature selection, where the features to be selected and the weight is optimized through A-BIO, which assists in getting the most significant features for improving the performance and reducing the complexity of the designed model. Finally, OED is performed by a set of classifiers like Convolutional Neural Networks, Adaboost, XGBoost, Long Short-Term Memory, and Deep Neural Networks, where the parameters of ensemble learning classifiers are optimized by A-BIO algorithm. Abstract

Heminasal agenesis is an exceedingly rare congenital anomaly which is frequently associated with disorders of eye, lacrimal drainage system and face. At times, a proboscis may also be noted with this condition. Herein, we present a case of a 13-year-old boy who presented to us with heminasal agenesis with concomitant microphthalmos, leucomatous corneal opacity, blepharoptosis, dacryocystocoele and maxillary hypoplasia. The child underwent a modified transeptal external dacryocystorhinostomy with placement of a lacrimal stent. There was significant improvement of epiphora and discharged following surgery. Heminasal aplasia with dacryocystocoele is surgical challenge; however, a well thought out surgical approach can yield satisfactory outcomes.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study looks at how ethical leadership, employee creativity, emotional intelligence and their effects on in-role and extra role work performance in company settings. It aims to offer understanding about how ethical leadership techniques can affect employee productivity and imagination. It also looks at the impact of emotional intelligence on this process. The study uses a design that looks at different groups, and it gathers information using numbers. We pick 240 people from different jobs in Pakistan. We use a method called stratified random sampling to do this. Surveys are used to collect information about ethical leadership, doing your job and more than expected work. They also look at employee ideas and understanding feelings in a better way. The data analyzed using SPSS. The research shows that ethical leadership greatly affects how well people do their jobs and go beyond them. Team creativity helps a lot with the relation between good leadership and how well they do. Also, emotional smartness changes how ethical leadership affects employee's creativity. Higher levels of this factor make the relation even stronger. This study has some limits. They are using a design that only looks at one point in time, which makes it hard to show cause and effect. Long-term studies can help future research. The study looks closely at one specific culture. We need to think about whether its results can be applied to other cultures too. The study gives helpful tips for companies to grow good leaders, promote employee ideas and build feelings smartness in the office. 134. Predicting curve progression for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis using random forest model.

Abstract

BackgroundAdolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is a three-dimensional (3D) spinal deformity characterized by coronal curvature and rotational deformity. Predicting curve progression is important for the selection and timing of treatment. Although there is a consensus in the literature regarding prognostic factors associated with curve progression, the order of importance, as well as the combination of factors that are most predictive of curve progression is unknown.Objectives(1) create an ordered list of prognostic factors that most contribute to curve progression, and (2) develop and validate a Machine Learning (ML) model to predict the final major Cobb angle in AIS patients.Methods193 AIS patients were selected for the current study. Preoperative PA, lateral and lateral bending radiographs were retrospectively obtained from the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Demographic and radiographic features, previously reported to be associated with curve progression, were collected. Sequential Backward Floating Selection (SBFS) was used to select a subset of the most predictive features. Based on the performance of several machine learning methods, a Random Forest (RF) regressor model was used to provide the importance rank of prognostic features and to predict the final major Cobb angle.ResultsThe seven most predictive prognostic features in the order of importance were initial major Cobb angle, flexibility, initial lumbar lordosis angle, initial thoracic kyphosis angle, age at last visit, number of levels involved, and Risser "+" stage at the first visit. The RF model predicted the final major Cobb angle with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 4.64 degrees.ConclusionA RF model was developed and validated to identify the most important prognostic features for curve progression and predict the final major Cobb angle. It is possible to predict the final major Cobb angle value within 5 degrees error from 2D radiographic features. Such methods could be directly applied to guide intervention timing and optimization for AIS treatment.
