R E S U M O A defesa do meio ambiente é uma pauta que está sempre em evidência, pois dentro da perspectiva do estado brasileiro a Constituição Federal de 1988 que resguardou a proteção do meio ambiente ecologicamente equilibrado como um direito fundamental, impondo ao Poder Público e à sociedade o dever de preservar e defender o meio ambiente. No processo de ocupação o desmatamento foi o principal vetor das alterações da paisagem na Amazônia, o cenário político-econômico de grandes problemas ambientais, faz-se necessário incentivar a consciência ambiental, que promova a tutela coletiva do meio ambiente equilibrado por meio da informação ambiental. Onde o combate ao desmatamento começa a ser efetivado pelo Código Florestal Lei n°12.651, de 25 de maio de 2012, que dispões sobre a proteção da vegetação nativa e dá outras providências, dentre eles o Cadastro Ambiental Rural (CAR). Este último que forma uma base de dados para controle, monitoramento, planejamento ambiental e econômico e combate ao desmatamento. Ferramenta importante no controle ambiental e auxiliando na formulação de políticas públicas. Para identificar os autores de infrações ambientais e promover a regularização ambiental de propriedades rurais privadas, o governo estabeleceu uma exigência de registro nacional, com uso de geotecnologias. Avaliando o Uso e cobertura do solo do município de Bragança-PA, usando os dados da Plataforma MapBiomas Coleção 5, observou-se que no período de vigência do novo Código Florestal houve uma redução no desmatamento. E, que está legislação necessita de algumas regulamentações que fundamente a sua ação como é a proposta do PRA. A B S T R A C T The defense of the environment is an agenda that is always in evidence, because within the perspective of the Brazilian state, the Federal Constitution of 1988, which protected the protection of an ecologically balanced environment as a fundamental right, imposing on the Public Power and society the duty to preserve and defend the environment. In the process of occupation, deforestation was the main vector of changes in the landscape in the Amazon, the political and economic scenario of major environmental problems, it is necessary to encourage environmental awareness, which promotes the collective protection of a balanced environment through environmental information. Where the fight against deforestation begins to be carried out by the Forest Code Law No. 12.651, of May 25, 2012, which provides for the protection of native vegetation and other measures, including the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). The latter forms a database for control, monitoring, environmental and economic planning and combating deforestation. An important tool in environmental control and assisting in the formulation of public policies. In order to identify the perpetrators of environmental infractions and promote the environmental regularization of private rural properties, the government established a national registration requirement, using geotechnologies. Evaluating the use and land cover of the municipality of Bragança-Pa, using data from the MapBiomas Collection 5 Platform, it was observed that in the period of validity of the new Forest Code there is a reduction in deforestation. In the article, it was investigated the fantasy and the imagination, used as resources in the creation context of the contemporary short story destined to the children and occurred throughout bibliographical research of qualitative approach, which allows approximate the theoretical considerations of the book Tua mao na minha [Your hand in mine], written by Eloi Bocheco, Brazilian author, overall Catarinense. The path outlined for the article starts from a brief consultation to consider the short story, which is done by Charles Kiefer (2004), towards the considerations of Vera Teixeira de Aguiar (2001), Marta Morais da Costa (2006, 2007), Bruno Bettelheim (2007), Diana Lichetenstein Corso and Mario Corso (2006) and Regina Zilberman (2005, 2014), among others. This framework allows us to understand, the short story and the specific characteristics of this narrative, in other words, the importance of fantasy and imagination in its constitution. Then, a reading of Bocheco’s short story is presented, exploring the aspects in which fantasy and imagination are enhanced in the plot and the actions of the protagonist of the narrative named Dunia. In the end, from the many possibilities and suggestions that the short story in question inventively inaugurates and provokes, it is attested that Tua mao na minha [Your hand in mine], which was weaved from memory and, therefore, able to invest as much in the imaginative resources, it is a narrative that, in its plot, doubles, as it is allowed to imagine, and, in a genuine childhood activity, mobilize resources from the inner world when it is necessary to deal with limit situations that are found in the reader’s trajectory/crossing.

ÁGUAS ENCANTADAS: UM OLHAR DIFERENCIADO PARA A HIDROGRAFIA NAMBIQUARA

The leaf of the jaborandi (Pilocarpus microphyllus) is the part of the plant of economic interest, from which the pilocarpine is extracted, therefore, leaf production is the main variable that determines the productivity of this species. Pilocarpus leaf production can be managed during its development phase. Thus, the objective of the present study was to evaluate branch regeneration of jaborandi submitted to two types of cutting/pruning and different cropping systems. Prunings were carried out in jaborandi plants from different accessions from the Janorandi Active Germoplasm Bank (BGA), that were under different cropping systems, full sun and shade. With pruning shears, cuts were made 10 and 20 cm from the branch bifurcations. The results showed that regardless of the distances of the cuts in the jaborandi plants, the prunings benefited new shoots production and the harvest and influence on leaf production could be anticipated without harming the plant?s development. The drastic pruning performed on the species also stimulated efficient regeneration without damaging the plant, resulting in bigger leaf production, regardless of the pruning direction. It was also observed that jaborandi cultivation becomes more productive when it is grown under full sun regardless of the germplasm used, and the leaves can be harvested in all the months of the year. Resumen del trabajo presentado en VI Congreso Nacional sobre Especies Exóticas Invasoras y I Congreso Ibérico sobre EEI (EEI 2022) celebrado en Navarra del 20 al 23 de abril de 2022., One of the objectives of LIFE INVASQUA project is to develop tools that will be more efficient the Early Warning and Rapid Response (EWRR) framework for Invasive Alien Species in the Iberian Peninsula. Horizon scanning for high-risk IAS is basic in implementing measures to reduce new invasions, developing Alert lists, and to focus effort in the species already established, for instance making a Black list. We developed a trans national horizon scanning exercise focused on inland waters of Spain and Portugal in order to provide a prioritized lists (Black list and Alert list) of aquatic IAS that may pose a threat to aquatic ecosystems and socio economic sectors in the future. We followed a step approach of existing information about IAS (Plants, Freshwater Invertebrates, Estuarine Invertebrates and Vertebrates; 127 established taxa in Black list; 90 non established taxa in Alert list) combining with an expert scoring of prioritized taxa. IAS established in the Iberian aquatic system consistently highlighted as the worst included vertebrates (e.g. Cyprinus carpio, Gambusia holbrooki, Silurus glanis), freshwater and estuarine invertebrates (e.g. Procambarus clarkii, Dreissena polymorpha, Pacifastacus leniusculus, Ficopomatus enigmaticus, Callinectes sapidus, Corbicula fluminea) and plants (e.g. Eichhornia crassipes, Azolla filiculoides, Ludwigia grandiflora). Amongst taxa not yet established (Alert list), expert pointed to Perna viridis, Hydroides dirampha, Dreissena bugensis, Procambarus fallax f. virginallis, Perccottus glenii with higher risk of invasion, ecological and socioeconomic impacts. Over 20.6% of the taxa in the preliminary black list received no votes (no prioritization) by experts, 17.8% in the innitial alert list. Our horizon scanning approach is inclusive of all-taxa, prioritizes both established and emerging biological threats across trans-national scales, and considers not only the ecological impact, but also potential direct economic consequences as well as the manageability of invasive species., This work received funds from the LIFE Programme (LIFE17 GIE/ES/000515).

Exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation may be an effective non-pharmacological intervention for improving endothelial function in coronary artery disease patients. Therefore, this systematic review with meta-analysis aimed to (a) estimate the training-induced effect on endothelial and vascular smooth muscle function, assessed by flow-mediated dilation and nitroglycerin-mediated dilation, respectively, in coronary artery disease patients; and to (b) study the influence of potential trial-level variables (i. e. study and intervention characteristics) on the training-induced effect on endothelial and vascular smooth muscle function. Electronic searches were performed in Pubmed, Scopus, and Embase up to February 2021. Random-effects models of standardised mean change were estimated. Heterogeneity analyses were performed by using the Chi (2) test and I (2) index. Our results showed that exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation significantly enhanced flow-mediated dilation (1.04 [95% confidence interval=0.76 to 1.31]) but did not significantly change nitroglycerin-mediated dilation (0.05 [95% confidence interval=-0.03 to 0.13]). Background The role of neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is not fully elucidated. Therefore, we aimed to investigate in COVID-19 patients with moderate-to-severe ARDS the impact of early use of NMBAs on 90-day mortality, through propensity score (PS) matching analysis. Methods We analyzed a convenience sample of patients with COVID-19 and moderate-to-severe ARDS, admitted to 244 intensive care units within the COVID-19 Critical Care Consortium, from February 1, 2020, through October 31, 2021. Patients undergoing at least 2 days and up to 3 consecutive days of NMBAs (NMBA treatment), within 48 h from commencement of IMV were compared with subjects who did not receive NMBAs or only upon commencement of IMV (control). The primary objective in the PS-matched cohort was comparison between groups in 90-day in-hospital mortality, assessed through Cox proportional hazard modeling. Secondary objectives were comparisons in the numbers of ventilator-free days (VFD) between day 1 and day 28 and between day 1 and 90 through competing risk regression. Results Data from 1953 patients were included. After propensity score matching, 210 cases from each group were well matched. In the PS-matched cohort, mean (± SD) age was 60.3 ± 13.2 years and 296 (70.5%) were male and the most common comorbidities were hypertension (56.9%), obesity (41.1%), and diabetes (30.0%). The unadjusted hazard ratio (HR) for death at 90 days in the NMBA treatment vs control group was 1.12 (95% CI 0.79, 1.59, p = 0.534). After adjustment for smoking habit and critical therapeutic covariates, the HR was 1.07 (95% CI 0.72, 1.61, p = 0.729). At 28 days, VFD were 16 (IQR 0–25) and 25 (IQR 7–26) in the NMBA treatment and control groups, respectively (sub-hazard ratio 0.82, 95% CI 0.67, 1.00, p = 0.055). At 90 days, VFD were 77 (IQR 0–87) and 87 (IQR 0–88) (sub-hazard ratio 0.86 (95% CI 0.69, 1.07; p = 0.177). Conclusions In patients with COVID-19 and moderate-to-severe ARDS, short course of NMBA treatment, applied early, did not significantly improve 90-day mortality and VFD. In the absence of definitive data from clinical trials, NMBAs should be indicated cautiously in this setting.
