Producing hydrogen by water electrolysis suffers from the kinetic barriers in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) that limits the overall efficiency. With spin-dependent kinetics in OER, to manipulate the spin ordering of ferromagnetic OER catalysts (e.g., by magnetization) can reduce the kinetic barrier. However, most active OER catalysts are not ferromagnetic, which makes the spin manipulation challenging. In this work, we report a strategy with spin pinning effect to make the spins in paramagnetic oxyhydroxides more aligned for higher intrinsic OER activity. The spin pinning effect is established in oxideFM/oxyhydroxide interface which is realized by a controlled surface reconstruction of ferromagnetic oxides. Under spin pinning, simple magnetization further increases the spin alignment and thus the OER activity, which validates the spin effect in rate-limiting OER step. The spin polarization in OER highly relies on oxyl radicals (O∙) created by 1st dehydrogenation to reduce the barrier for subsequent O-O coupling.

The ever-increasing demand for oil & gas exploration from land to subsea necessitates using higher-strength and high-ductility heavy-wall thickness pipes, which may increase the microstructural inhomogeneity along the steel plate sections, ultimately impacting the mechanical properties. In this work, the differences in microstructure and mechanical properties between the through-thickness layers of a heavy-wall ferrite/bainite (F/B) dual-phase (DP) X70 pipeline steel plate were studied. The results showed that the size of the ferrite grain and the volume fraction of bainite increased from the surface layer to the mid-thickness layer of the DP X70 pipeline steel plate. The surface and mid-thickness layers had a lower uniform elongation and higher strength and hardness. In comparison, the quarter layer had higher uniform elongation and lower strength and hardness. The refined grain size and the strong {001} texture were responsible for enhanced in strength and hardness. The higher γ-fiber texture at the quarter layer favored the higher plasticity. The analysis results of strain-hardening behaviors based on the modified C-J model showed that the mid-thickness layer had a higher strain-hardening capacity at the beginning of the plastic strain, leading to deformation instability and reduced material plasticity. The surface layer maintained a high hardening exponent even at high plastic strains, which facilitated the deformation properties of the material. The results provide a basis for evaluating the influence of microstructural factors on the strength and plasticity of heavy-wall X70 pipeline steel and the coordination mechanism of micro deformation in DP steels.

ObjectiveTo investigate the status quo of consumer health food knowledge， attitude， and behavior （KAP） and explore related influencing factors in order to provide a basis for the development of health food science popularization.MethodsA survey on KAP of health food was conducted among consumers in 23 provinces and 4 municipalities directly through online questionnaires， and professional quality and working intention of science popularization workers and health food workers were investigated.ResultsThe average awareness rate of consumer health food knowledge was 45.30%， the average rate of holding the correct attitude was 67.92%， and the average rate of correct behavior was 44.86%. Age， registered residence， educational background， and industry were factors that affected the KAP score of health food， and there was a positive correlation between the scores of knowledge， attitude， and behavior. There were some problems in the work of science popularization， such as insufficient science popularization， single science popularization form， and one-sided science popularization content.ConclusionThe overall level of consumers’ knowledge， attitude， and behavior regarding health food is low； science popularization should be strengthened， and interest in science popularization should be increased. At the same time， the principle of objectivity should be followed to popularize the efficacy of health food.

Retiform hemangioendothelioma (RH) is a type of low-grade malignant angiosarcoma. It commonly involves the skin and subcutaneous tissue of the lower extremities, but a few cases have been reported in the gut. However, hepatic RH has not been previously reported. This report presents the case of RH of the liver in a 61-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital having presented with liver space–occupying lesions of 2 months evolution. The patient underwent an abdominal ultrasound examination, which indicated a hemangioma, but abdominal computed tomography diagnosed a liver abscess. In order to determine the nature of the lesion, an ultrasound-guided liver biopsy was performed, after which a pathological diagnosis confirmed the presence of RH in the liver. The patient underwent ultrasound-guided microwave ablation three times and has been followed up for 8 years with no tumor recurrence or metastasis. Surgical excision is still the first choice for the treatment of hepatic RH. As shown in this case, however, for patients who refuse to undergo surgery or have surgical contraindications, ultrasound-guided microwave ablation is an alternative treatment option. The report of this case expands the scope of liver tumors to a certain extent and provides a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Obesity has become a very large concern worldwide, reaching pandemic proportions over the past several decades. Lifestyle factors, such as excess caloric intake and decreased physical activity, together with genetic predispositions, are well-known factors related to obesity. There is accumulating evidence suggesting that exposure to some environmental chemicals during critical windows of development may contribute to the rapid increase in the incidence of obesity. Agrochemicals are a class of chemicals extensively used in agriculture, which have been widely detected in human. There is now considerable evidence linking human exposure to agrochemicals with obesity. This review summarizes human epidemiological evidence and experimental animal studies supporting the association between agrochemical exposure and obesity and outlines possible mechanistic underpinnings for this link.

The ultra-high pressure-assisted extraction (UHPE) of total phenols from Eucommia ulmoides leaves (TPEU) was optimized and its antioxidant activity on Eucommia ulmoides seed oil was studied. The effects of UHPE pressure, UHPE time, and ethanol concentration on the extraction yield of TPEU were examined by response surface methodology. In addition, TPEU was added to Eucommia ulmoides seed oil, and the effects of TPEU on the antioxidant activity (acid value, peroxide value) of Eucommia ulmoides seed oil during storage were studied. The optimal UHPE conditions were as follows: UHPE pressure, 406 MPa; UHPE time, 8.3 min; and ethanol concentration, 60.2%. Under these UHPE conditions, the yield of TPEU was 7.58%. TPEU had a good antioxidant effect when the TPEU content was 0.06%. The antioxidant effect of TPEU was lower than that of BHA. Both TPEU and BHA have a synergistic effect.
