Planck Galactic Cold Clumps (PGCCs) possibly represent the early stages of star formation. To understand better the properties of PGCCs, we studied 16 PGCCs in the L1495 cloud with molecular lines and continuum data from Herschel, JCMT/SCUBA-2 and the PMO 13.7 m telescope. Thirty dense cores were identified in 16 PGCCs from 2-D Gaussian fitting. The dense cores have dust temperatures of $T_{\rm d}$ = 11-14 K, and H$_{2}$ column densities of $N_{\rm H_{2}}$ = 0.36-2.5$\times10^{22}$ cm$^{-2}$. We found that not all PGCCs contain prestellar objects. In general, the dense cores in PGCCs are usually at their earliest evolutionary stages. All the dense cores have non-thermal velocity dispersions larger than the thermal velocity dispersions from molecular line data, suggesting that the dense cores may be turbulence-dominated. We have calculated the virial parameter $\alpha$ and found that 14 of the dense cores have $\alpha$ $<$ 2, while 16 of the dense cores have $\alpha$ $>$ 2. This suggests that some of the dense cores are not bound in the absence of external pressure and magnetic fields. The column density profiles of dense cores were fitted. The sizes of the flat regions and core radii decrease with the evolution of dense cores. CO depletion was found to occur in all the dense cores, but is more significant in prestellar core candidates than in protostellar or starless cores. The protostellar cores inside the PGCCs are still at a very early evolutionary stage, sharing similar physical and chemical properties with the prestellar core candidates.

We present the results of Very Large Array NH$_{3}$ $(J,K)=(1,1)$ and $(2,2)$ observations of the HH 111/HH 121 protostellar system. HH 111, with a spectacular collimated optical jet, is one of the most well-known Herbig-Haro objects. We report the detection of a new source (NH$_{3}-$S) in the vicinity of HH 111/HH 121 ($\sim$0.03 pc from the HH 111 jet source) in two epochs of the ammonia observations. This constitutes the first detection of this source, in a region which has been thoroughly covered previously by both continuum and spectral line interferometric observations. We study the kinematic and physical properties of HH 111 and the newly discovered NH$_{3}-$S. We also use HCO$^{+}$ and HCN $(J=4-3)$ data obtained with the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope and archival Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array $^{13}$CO, $^{12}$CO, and C$^{18}$O $(J=2-1)$, N$_2$D$^{+}$ $(J=3-2)$, and $^{13}$CS $(J=5-4)$ data to gain insight into the nature of NH$_{3}-$S. The chemical structure of NH$_3-$S shows evidence for "selective freeze-out", an inherent characteristic of dense cold cores. The inner part of NH$_3-$S shows subsonic non-thermal velocity dispersions indicating a "coherent core", while they increase in the direction of the jets. Archival near- to far-infrared data show no indication of any embedded source in NH$_3-$S. The properties of NH$_3-$S and its location in the infrared dark cloud suggest that it is a starless core located in a turbulent medium with turbulence induced by Herbig-Haro jets and associated outflows. We present sensitive high angular resolution ($\sim$ 0.1$''$ -- 0.3$''$) continuum ALMA (The Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array) observations of the archetypal hot core located in Orion-KL. The observations were made in five different spectral bands (bands 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9) covering a very broad range of frequencies (149 -- 658 GHz). Apart of the well-know millimeter emitting objects located in this region (Orion Source I and BN), we report the first submillimeter detection of three compact continuum sources (ALMA 1-3) in the vicinities of the Orion-KL hot molecular core. These three continuum objects have spectral indices between 1.47 to 1.56, and brightness temperatures between 100 to 200 K at 658 GHz suggesting that we are seeing moderate optically thick dust emission with possible grain growth. However, as these objects are not associated with warm molecular gas, and some of them are farther out from the molecular core, we thus conclude that they cannot heat the molecular core. Stellar feedback from high-mass stars (e.g., H{\sc ii} regions) can strongly influence the surrounding interstellar medium and regulate star formation. Our new ALMA observations reveal sequential high-mass star formation taking place within one sub-virial filamentary clump (the G9.62 clump) in the G9.62+0.19 complex. The 12 dense cores (MM 1-12) detected by ALMA are at very different evolutionary stages, from starless core phase to UC H{\sc ii} region phase. Three dense cores (MM6, MM7/G, MM8/F) are associated with outflows. The mass-velocity diagrams of outflows associated with MM7/G and MM8/F can be well fitted with broken power laws. The mass-velocity diagram of SiO outflow associated with MM8/F breaks much earlier than other outflow tracers (e.g., CO, SO, CS, HCN), suggesting that SiO traces newly shocked gas, while the other molecular lines (e.g., CO, SO, CS, HCN) mainly trace the ambient gas continuously entrained by outflow jets. Five cores (MM1, MM3, MM5, MM9, MM10) are massive starless core candidates whose masses are estimated to be larger than 25 M$_{\sun}$, assuming a dust temperature of $\leq$ 20 K. The shocks from the expanding H{\sc ii} regions ("B" \& "C") to the west may have great impact on the G9.62 clump through compressing it into a filament and inducing core collapse successively, leading to sequential star formation. Our findings suggest that stellar feedback from H{\sc ii} regions may enhance the star formation efficiency and suppress the low-mass star formation in adjacent pre-existing massive clumps., Comment: Accepted to ApJ

We observed 146 Galactic clumps in HCN (4-3) and CS (7-6) with the Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment (ASTE) 10-m telescope. A tight linear relationship between star formation rate and gas mass traced by dust continuum emission was found for both Galactic clumps and the high redshift (z>1) star forming galaxies (SFGs), indicating a constant gas depletion time of ~100 Myr for molecular gas in both Galactic clumps and high z SFGs. However, low z galaxies do not follow this relation and seem to have a longer global gas depletion time. The correlations between total infrared luminosities (L_TIR) and molecular line luminosities (L'_mol) of HCN (4-3) and CS (7-6) are tight and sublinear extending down to clumps with LTIR~10^{3} L_sun. These correlations become linear when extended to external galaxies. A bimodal behavior in the LTIR--L'mol correlations was found for clumps with different dust temperature, luminosity-to-mass ratio, and sigmaline/sigmavir. Such bimodal behavior may be due to evolutionary effects. The slopes of LTIR--L'mol correlations become more shallow as clumps evolve. We compared our results with lower J transition lines in wu et al. (2010). The correlations between clump masses and line luminosities are close to linear for low effective excitation density tracers but become sublinear for high effective excitation density tracers for clumps with LTIR larger than LTIR~10^4.5 Lsun. High effective excitation density tracers cannot linearly trace the total clump masses, leading to a sublinear correlations for both Mclump-L'mol and LTIR-L'mol relations., Comment: 23 pages. accepted to ApJ

Most bipolar outflows are associated with individual young stellar objects and have small opening angles. Here we report the discovery of an extremely wide-angle ($\sim$180$\arcdeg$) bipolar outflow ("EWBO") in a cluster forming region AFGL 5142 from low-velocity emission of the HCN (3-2) and HCO$^{+}$ (3-2) lines. This bipolar outflow is along a north-west to south-east direction with a line-of-sight flow velocity of about 3 km~s$^{-1}$ and is spatially connected to the high-velocity jet-like outflows. It seems to be a collection of low-velocity material entrained by the high-velocity outflows due to momentum feedback. The total ejected mass and mass loss rate due to both high velocity jet-like outflows and the "EWBO" are $\sim$24.5 M$_{\sun}$ and $\sim1.7\times10^{-3}$ M$_{\sun}$~yr$^{-1}$, respectively. Global collapse of the clump is revealed by the "blue profile" in the HCO$^{+}$ (1-0) line. A hierarchical network of filaments was identified in NH$_{3}$ (1,1) emission. Clear velocity gradients of the order of 10 km~s$^{-1}$~pc$^{-1}$ are found along filaments, indicating gas inflow along the filaments. The sum of the accretion rate along filaments and mass infall rate along the line of sight is $\sim$3.1$\times10^{-3}$ M$_{\sun}$~yr$^{-1}$, which exceeds the total mass loss rate, indicating that the central cluster is probably still gaining mass. The central cluster is highly fragmented and 22 condensations are identified in 1.1 mm continuum emission. The fragmentation process seems to be determined by thermal pressure and turbulence. We present Submillimeter Array (SMA) observations of the HCN\,(3--2) and HCO$^+$\,(3--2) molecular lines toward the W3(H$_2$O) and W3(OH) star-forming complexes. Infall and outflow motions in the W3(H$_2$O) have been characterized by observing HCN and HCO$^+$ transitions. High-velocity blue/red-shifted emission, tracing the outflow, show multiple knots, which might originate in episodic and precessing outflows. `Blue-peaked' line profiles indicate that gas is infalling onto the W3(H$_2$O) dust core. The measured large mass accretion rate, 2.3$\times$10$^{-3}$~M$_{\odot}$~yr$^{-1}$, together with the small free-fall time scale, 5$\times$10$^{3}$~yr, suggest W3(H$_2$O) is in an early evolutionary stage of the process of formation of high-mass stars. For the W3(OH), a two-layer model fit to the HCN and HCO$^+$ spectral lines and Spizter/IRAC images support that the W3(OH) H{\sc ii} region is expanding and interacting with the ambient gas, with the shocked neutral gas being expanding with an expansion timescale of 6.4$\times$10$^{3}$~yr. We are performing a series of observations with ground-based telescopes toward Planck Galactic cold clumps (PGCCs) in the $\lambda$ Orionis complex in order to systematically investigate the effects of stellar feedback. In the particular case of PGCC G192.32-11.88, we discovered an extremely young Class 0 protostellar object (G192N) and a proto-brown dwarf candidate (G192S). G192N and G192S are located in a gravitationally bound bright-rimmed clump. The velocity and temperature gradients seen in line emission of CO isotopologues indicate that PGCC G192.32-11.88 is externally heated and compressed. G192N probably has the lowest bolometric luminosity ($\sim0.8$ L$_{\sun}$) and accretion rate (6.3$\times10^{-7}$ M$_{\sun}$~yr$^{-1}$) when compared with other young Class 0 sources (e.g. PACS Bright Red sources (PBRs)) in the Orion complex. It has slightly larger internal luminosity ($0.21\pm0.01$ L$_{\sun}$) and outflow velocity ($\sim$14 km~s$^{-1}$) than the predictions of first hydrostatic cores (FHSCs). G192N might be among the youngest Class 0 sources, which are slightly more evolved than a FHSC. Considering its low internal luminosity ($0.08\pm0.01$ L$_{\odot}$) and accretion rate (2.8$\times10^{-8}$ M$_{\sun}$~yr$^{-1}$), G192S is an ideal proto-brown dwarf candidate. The star formation efficiency ($\sim$0.3\%-0.4\%) and core formation efficiency ($\sim$1\%) in PGCC G192.32-11.88 are significantly smaller than in other giant molecular clouds or filaments, indicating that the star formation therein is greatly suppressed due to stellar feedback., Comment: 26 pages, 28 figures, 6 tables, Accepted to ApJS

We present Submillimeter Array (SMA) molecular line observations in two 2 GHz-wide bands centered at 217.5 and 227.5 GHz, toward the massive star forming region W51 North. We identified 84 molecular line transitions from 17 species and their isotopologues. The molecular gas distribution of these lines mainly peaks in the continuum position of W51 North, and has a small tail extending to the west, probably associated with W51 d2. In addition to the commonly detected nitrogen and oxygen-bearing species, we detected a large amount of transitions of the Acetone (CH$_3$COCH$_3$) and Methyl Formate (CH$_3$OCHO), which may suggest that these molecules are present in an early evolutionary stage of the massive stars. We also found that W51 North is an ethanol-rich source. There is no obvious difference in the molecular gas distributions between the oxygen-bearing and nitrogen-bearing molecules. Under the assumption of Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (LTE), with the XCLASS tool, the molecular column densities, and rotation temperatures are estimated. We found that the oxygen-bearing molecules have considerable higher column densities and fractional abundances than the nitrogen-bearing molecules. The rotation temperatures range from 100 to 200 K, suggesting that the molecular emission could be originated from a warm environment. Finally, based on the gas distributions, fractional abundances and the rotation temperatures, we conclude that CH$_3$OH, C$_2$H$_5$OH, CH$_3$COCH$_3$ and CH$_3$CH$_2$CN might be synthesized on the grain surface, while gas phase chemistry is responsible for the production of CH$_3$OCH$_3$, CH$_3$OCHO and CH$_2$CHCN., Comment: accepted to MNRAS
