Abstract

Le molteplici modalità che contraddistinguono e caratterizzano l’apprendimento necessitano e richiedono nuove forme di insegnamento, che possano soddisfare le caratteristiche e le peculiarità di ogni persona. Contesti educativi come scuola ed università dovrebbero rispettare queste forme differenziali di apprendimento puntando a nuove strutture di insegnamento, che non si limitino a trasmettere il sapere come semplice accumulo di informazioni. Nasce la necessità, per soggetti con Disturbi Specifici dell’Apprendimento, di ricercare e predisporre adeguati strumenti e strategie didattiche, che possano supportare le principali necessità del soggetto in ambito personale, emotivo e relazionale. Ciò si ottiene fornendo agli studenti un ampio spettro di conoscenze che si rivolgono, da una parte all’ambito pragmatico e strategico della didattica, e dall’altra, alla consapevolezza, alla comprensione ed alla osservazione delle attitudini e abilità personali, che regolano e facilitano l’apprendimento cognitivo, incrementando, parallelamente, competenze individuali e sociali. Lo sviluppo, quindi, di abilità cognitive e metacognitive consente di raggiungere una maggiore consapevolezza e conoscenza delle proprie abilità, una rilevante capacità di gestire e condurre il proprio percorso di apprendimento, contribuendo all’evoluzione ed allo sviluppo del soggetto in ambito personale, relazionale ed educativo.

Abstract

Sport is an educational and cultural tool for the pursuit of a harmonious psycho-physical balance, but it is also indispensable for learning, from the sports confrontation-clash, the respect for the rules, for the game opponents and for transparency and loyalty of one's own actions. Educating to sport means making the interaction between peoples and individuals effective. The work of good trainers, teachers and instructors should be precisely that of favoring these processes, trying to connect the emotions to the learning dynamics and putting into practice techniques related to movement and sport. It is also essential to encourage active participation, by optimizing the space of individuals in any context. From this point of view, sports practice is a tool for promoting educational interaction and the social inclusion of people.

Abstract

Lo status di “studente-atleta” è riconosciuto dalle Università con la collaborazione dei maggiori Enti Sportivi Nazionali ed Inter- nazionali, al fine di perseguire lo sviluppo della persona nel ri- spetto dei principi espressi dall’ Art.2 della Costituzione e in conformità di quanto disposto dalla Carta Europea dello Sport e dalle Linee Guida Europee sulla Doppia Carriera degli Atleti. Il Progetto deve salvaguardare lo sviluppo dei giovani atleti e de- gli studenti nel campo dell'istruzione e della formazione profes- sionale, nonché degli atleti diversamente abili; la ricerca deve, al- tresì, favorire l'equilibrio tra la formazione sportiva e la forma- zione formale e, in una fase successiva della vita, l'equilibrio tra lo studio e l'occupazione. Le Università riconoscono tale status agli studenti regolarmente iscritti al Corso di Laurea triennale, in corso o fuori corso, che siano Campioni nelle discipline olim- piche/paraolimpiche invernali ed estive e ad atleti convocati dal- la Federazione di appartenenza per rappresentare l’Italia. La combinazione della carriera sportiva con la formazione rappre- senta, per gli atleti, una notevole sfida che richiede alti livelli di motivazione, impegno e responsabilità. Assumono un’impor- tanza notevole le prassi educative finalizzate a promuovere i di- ritti educativi degli atleti, favorendo la conciliazione con il siste- ma educativo ed il mercato del lavoro. Recentemente la riforma della scuola ha individuato tra gli obiettivi formativi prioritari l’attenzione alla tutela del diritto allo studio degli studenti pra- ticanti attività sportiva agonistica. Di rilievo lo sviluppo di ricer- che ed interventi volti a favorire percorsi efficaci di Dual-Career per gli studenti-atleti diversamente abili, al fine di trovare un equilibrio tra la formazione sportiva e la formazione formale; si tratta di un’indagine preliminare volta a valutare l’attitudine de- gli studenti provenienti dai Licei Sportivi e motivati a continua- re gli studi universitari.

Abstract

Introduction: atherosclerosis is one of the leading causes of death and morbidity worldwide. It consists in the development of plaques in the intima media layers of arteries due to lipid accumulation and oxidation, causing massive inflammation. We aim to better understand the role of Galectin-3 (Gal-3) and Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] as possible peripheral markers of plaque presence. Methods: Gal-3 and Lp(a) were measured in plasma samples from 99 patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy and 78 healthy controls, by immunometric assays. Plaques were classified histologically, according to the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines as type Va (fibroatheroma), Vb (mainly calcific) and Vl (complicated lesion). Abstract

The relationship between sport and therapy shows itself as a dynamic process that acts at psychological, cognitive and social-re- lational level, generating an open communication enhanced and supported by the creative, symbolic and metaphorical modalities suggested by sport activities. The use of sport activity as a therapy can explore the subject's feelings by reducing his emotional conflicts, stimulating greater awareness and enhancing a better management his of social behaviors. Dance therapy, for example, represents an alternative channel of expression, in which the subject’s psychological and emotional aspects are involved. This type of therapy supports and strengthens the conscious use of one's own body, which takes on the role of main communication and expression channel of one's own emotions and sensations, managing to reach fragments hidden and preserved in every subject.

METHODS AND MATERIALS: A panel of international experts from ASTRO, ESTRO, and select Asia-Pacific countries completed a modified rapid Delphi process. Topics and questions were presented to the group, and subsequent questions were developed from iterative feedback. Each survey was open online for 24 hours, and successive rounds started within 24 hours of the previous round. The chosen cutoffs for strong agreement (>/=80%) and agreement (>/=66%) were extrapolated from the RAND methodology. Two pandemic scenarios, early (risk mitigation) and late (severely reduced radiation therapy resources), were evaluated. The panel developed treatment recommendations for 5 HNC cases. RESULTS: In total, 29 of 31 of those invited (94%) accepted, and after a replacement 30 of 30 completed all 3 surveys (100% response rate). There was agreement or strong agreement across a number of practice areas, including treatment prioritization, whether to delay initiation or interrupt radiation therapy for intercurrent SARS-CoV-2 infection, approaches to treatment (radiation dose-fractionation schedules and use of chemotherapy in each pandemic scenario), management of surgical cases in event of operating room closures, and recommended adjustments to outpatient clinic appointments and supportive care. Background: Recognizing the rapidly increasing interest and evidence in using metastasis-directed radiotherapy (MDRT) for oligometastatic disease (OMD), ESTRO and ASTRO convened a committee to establish consensus regarding definitions of OMD and define gaps in current evidence. Abstract

PURPOSE: Because of the unprecedented disruption of health care services caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) identified an urgent need to issue practice recommendations for radiation oncologists treating head and neck cancer (HNC) in a time of limited resources and heightened risk for patients and staff. METHODS AND MATERIALS: A panel of international experts from ASTRO, ESTRO, and select Asia-Pacific countries completed a modified rapid Delphi process. Topics and questions were presented to the group, and subsequent questions were developed from iterative feedback. Each survey was open online for 24 hours, and successive rounds started within 24 hours of the previous round. Abstract

Background and aims Vascular disease (VD), as assessed by history of myocardial infarction or peripheral artery disease or aortic plaque, increases stroke risk in atrial fibrillation (AF), and is a component of risk assessment using the CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc score. We investigated if systemic atherosclerosis as detected by ultrasound carotid plaque (CP) could improve the predictive value of the CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc score. Methods We analysed data from the ARAPACIS study, an observational study including 2027 Italian patients with non-valvular AF, in whom CP was detected using Doppler Ultrasonography. Results VD was reported in 351 (17.3%) patients while CP was detected in 16.6% patients. Adding CP to the VD definition leaded to higher VD prevalence (30.9%). During a median [IQR] follow-up time of 36months, 56 (2.8%) stroke/TIA events were recorded. Survival analysis showed that conventional VD alone did not increase the risk of stroke (Log-Rank: 0.009, p=0.924), while addition of CP to conventional VD was significantly associated to an increased risk of stroke (LR: 5.730, p=0.017). Cox regression analysis showed that VD+CP was independently associated with stroke (HR: 1.78, 95% CI: 1.05–3.01, p=0.0318). Reclassification analysis showed that VD+CP allowed a significant risk reclassification when compared to VD alone in predicting stroke at 36months (NRI: 0.192, 95% CI: 0.028–0.323, p=0.032). Conclusions In non-valvular AF patients the addition of ultrasound detection of carotid plaque to conventional VD significantly increases the predictive value of CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc score for stroke.
