In this paper, the robust control system is designed by using Model Predictive Control for ZANKA-I which is an unmanned aerial vehicle, and its performance is analyzed. In order to design the control system, longitudinal and lateral stability of the vehicle are modeled and converted to longitudinal and lateral state-space model, respectively. Also, the effects of turbulence on longitudinal and lateral stabilityare parametrically modeled and numerically inserted into the state-space models. As a result of simulating the model, the robustness of control system is proved.

In this study, a literaturesearch was conducted on tactical unmanned aerial vehicles. First of all, it wasclassified as an unmanned aerial vehicle. It is mentioned about thecharacteristics of ZANKA-III, which is highly autonomous, passive and activemorphing, aerodynamically perfect, tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (TUAV)ZANKA-III, supported by TUBITAK's 1001 Ardeb program 115M603 by TUBITAK and itis mentioned that they have superior characteristics from other tacticalunmanned aerial vehicles. Not only physical properties but also the autopilotsystem structure, the optimization method used, and the state space modelthrough the executive equations of the body are briefly mentioned. For thispurpose longitudinal and lateral dynamics modeling of TUAVs produced in ErciyesUniversity, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Model Aircraft Laboratoryare considered in order to obtain simulation environments. Our produced TUAV iscalled as ZANKA-III which has weight of 50 kg, range of around 3000 km,endurance of around 28 hour, and ceiling altitude of around 12500 m. Von-Karmanturbulence modeling is used in order to model atmospheric turbulence duringflight in both longitudinal and lateral simulation environments. In this study, a novel algorithm to estimate theoptimum value of the fuselage drag coefficient is designed by integrating the artificialneural network (ANN) which is an artificial intelligent method into the algorithmof simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation (SPSA) which is a fastmethod. SPSA converges to the optimum value for solution very fast. Howeverusing SPSA alone requires a function of problem to estimate the optimumsolution. On the other hand, ANN is able to estimate the solutions for theproblem without need of its any objective function. However ANN needs a certaindata set to be effectively trained. Also, the best ANN architecture which accomplishwith different data sets of problem may alter. Thus, ANN architecture alone isnot adequate for estimating the best result for each different data set. Themain target of this study is making SPSA able to be applicable for the problemthat has not any objective function by using training capability of ANN. Forthis purpose, initially, ANN is trained by the data of fuselage dragcoefficient obtained by previous experimental results conducted in wind tunneland varies depending on the geometry of fuselage. Thus, ANN becomes capable toestimate the fuselage drag coefficient for each parameter values of thefuselage shape. Therefore, ANN estimates the fuselage drag coefficient withrespect to inputs without the requirement of any experimental computations. Notethat ANN does not estimate the optimum value as output but estimates the outputregarding to the inputs. The ANN is integrated into the SPSA to fulfill theneed of cost function for SPSA. More clearly, the new algorithm evaluates ANNto estimate the fuselage drag coefficient with respect to inputs whileevaluates SPSA to estimate the optimum inputs for the optimum fuselage dragcoefficient. Through integrating the trained ANN into the SPSA, an effectiveand novel algorithm estimates the fuselage drag coefficient fast and accuratelywithout defining an objective function is improved., Bu çalışmada gövde sürükleme katsayısının en uygundeğerini hesaplamak için yapay zeki bir yöntem olan Yapay Sinir Ağları (YSA),hızlı bir yöntem olan Eşzamanlı Dağılım Rassal Yaklaşım (EDRY) algoritmasıiçerisine yerleştirilerek yeni bir algoritma tasarlanmıştır. EDRY en iyi çözümeoldukça hızlı bir şekilde yakınsayabilmektedir. Ancak tek başına EDRY çözümübulabilmek için problemin bir fonksiyonuna ihtiyaç duymaktadır. YSA ise probleminbir fonksiyonu olmaksızın da çözümü bulabilmektedir. Ancak YSA’nın iyieğitilebilmesi için belirli bir veri kümesine ihtiyaç vardır. Ayrıca problemindeğişen her veri kümesi için en iyi sonucu veren uygun ağ yapısı veparametreleri de değişebilmektedir. Bu nedenle YSA yalnız başına kullanılaraktek bir ağ yapısı ile her farklı veri kümesi için en iyi sonuca ulaşmak mümkündeğildir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı YSA’nın öğrenme kabiliyetinden faydalanarakEDRY’yi bir amaç fonksiyonu olmayan problemler için de kullanılabilir halegetirmektir. Bu amaçla, öncelikle daha önce rüzgâr tünelinde yapılmış deneyselçalışmalar neticesinde elde edilen gövde şekillerine göre gövde sürüklemekatsayısının değişimi verileri ile YSA eğitilmiştir. Böylece YSA şekildeğerlerine göre gövde sürükleme katsayısını kendisi tahmin edebilecek yeteneğegelmiştir. YSA artık herhangi bir deneysel hesaplamaya ihtiyaç duymadan girişdeğerlerine göre gövde sürükleme katsayısını tahmin edebilmektedir. Fakat buradaYSA ile en uygun değer değil, her giriş değeri için bir çıkış değeribulunmaktadır. EDRY’nin her adımda hesaplamaya ihtiyaç duyduğu maliyetfonksiyonu bu şekilde YSA, EDRY’ye gömülerek giderilmiştir. Yani buradatasarlanan yeni algoritma YSA’yı hangi durumlarda gövde sürükleme katsayısınınne olacağını bulmak için kullanırken EDRY’yi de en iyi katsayının oluşması içinen uygun durumların ne olduğunu bulmak için kullanmaktadır. Bu şekilde eğitilenYSA, EDRY’ye gömülerek, gövde sürükleme katsayısını bir bağıntıya ihtiyaçolmaksızın hızlı ve doğru bir şekilde hesaplayan, başarılı ve yeni biralgoritma geliştirilmiştir.

In this paper, autonomous performance of a small manufactured unmanned helicopter is tried to be increased. For this purpose, a small unmanned helicopter is manufactured in Erciyes University, Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It is called as ZANKA-Heli-I. For performance maximization, autopilot parameters are determined via minimizing a cost function consisting of flight performance parameters such as settling time, rise time, overshoot during trajectory tracking. For this purpose, a stochastic optimization method named as simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation is benefited. Using this approach, considerable autonomous performance increase (around %23) is obtained.

Çalışmada ilk olarak, kontrol sistemi tanımlanmış ve bir kontrol sisteminin modellenmesi için gerekli adımlar anlatılmıştır. Buna ilaveten, bu çalışmada kullanılan kontrol sisteminin oluşturulması için gerekli adımlar anlatılmıştır. Daha sonrasında dönen ve dönmeyen durumda ankastre bir kirişin hareket denkleminin çıkarılışı Euler-Bernoulli kiriş teorisiyle birlikte bulunmuştur. Bu sırada Newton yaklaşımından yaralanılmıştır ve sonrasında diferansiyel dönüşüm yönteminin kuralları detaylı bir şekilde anlatılmıştır. Son olarak dinamik denklemler ve daha önce diferansiyel dönüşüm yöntemi yardımıyla bulunan yapısal parametrelerle dönen ve daralan, ankastre Euler-Bernoulli kirişinin titreşim kontrolü gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulunan sonuçlar literatürdeki çalışmalarla karşılaştırıldığında, kullanılan kontrol sisteminin kirişin belli bir konuma oturtulmasında ve bu sırada oluşun titreşimleri sönümlemede başarılı olduğu görülebilir. Ayrıca, artan yükseklik daralma oranının kirişin belli bir pozisyona otururken oluşan maksimum aşımda arttırıcı bir etkisinin olduğu ve öte yandan bu sırada kiriş ucunda oluşan titreşim genliğinde azaltıcı bir etkisi olduğu görülebilir., In this study, vibration analysis and system control of aeronautical structures has been examined. Firstly, control system has been defined and the steps used for modelling a control system have been introduced. In addition to this, some extra informations to develop controlling model used in this study have been given. Afterwards, assumpions for Euler-Bernoulli beam theory have been mentioned and equation of motions for both non-rotating and rotating clamped-free beams with beam theory of Euler-Bernoulli have been found. For derivation of formulations Newton approach has been used. The rules of differential transform method also have been mentioned. And finally, by using dynamic equations and structural parameters which are found by using differential transform method, vibration control of rotating, tapered, clamped-free Euler-Bernoulli beam has been done. When obtained results are compared with the existing results in the literature, it is seen that the designed control system is successful for both positioning of beam and suppression of beam tip vibration. Moreover, it can be easily seen that the increasing height taper ratio has positive effect on beam rotational overshoot.
