Abstract: Sera from 142 Norwegian couples were assayed for the presence of antibody to Cytomegalovirus. Sixty-four percent were seropositive and the yearly conversion rate was approximately 1.65%. The couples included significantly more seropositive women than men. This may indicate that seropositive men infect seronegative women, while seropositive women seldom infect seronegative men.

Abstract: Two agglutination tests, Monostaph (Bionor A/S, N-3700 Skien, Norway) and Staphaurex (Wellcome), for the identification of Staphylococcus aureus have been evaluated. Using the coagulase test as reference method both tests were equally reliable and in complete aggrement with the coagulase tube test when tested on 216 strains of Micrococcaceae.
