Background and Purpose: Noncontact forehead thermometers have become increasingly widespread because of their advantages, such as rapid measurement of temperature, noninvasiveness, ease of use, and portability. The aim of the study was to compare the body temperature values measured using a noncontact forehead thermometer and a tympanic thermometer. Methods: A cross-sectional, comparative, and quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. The research population was composed of 200 adult individuals older than 18 years who were being treated at the hospital between January 2015 and March 2015. The temperature and humidity of the environment were measured with an electronic thermo-hygrometer thermometer. The body temperature of the patient was measured with both a noncontact forehead thermometer and a tympanic thermometer by the same researcher. The data were recorded in the patient information form and the patient observation form. Results: Mean body temperature values measured with a noncontact forehead thermometer and a tympanic thermometer were 36.17°C ± 0.47°C and 36.89°C ± 0.44°C, respectively. Results showed that there was no clear relationship between differences and averages, and there was conformity between the two methods. This review focuses on the main methods for obtaining functionally substituted phthalocyanine complexes, as well as the precursor phthalonitriles containing various hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups. It presents a comparison of the optical and photochemical properties of phthalocyanines, including pathways for generating reactive oxygen species. The potential applications of phthalocyanines are outlined, including photocatalysis, fluorescent diagnostics, and photodynamic therapy for cancer and antibacterial treatments. Drug-loaded polymeric micelles have proven to be highly effective carrier systems for the efficient delivery of hydrophobic photosensitizers (PSs) in photodynamic therapy (PDT). This study introduces the micellization potential of poly(oligoethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate) (pOEGMA) as a novel approach, utilizing the hydrophobic methacrylate segments of pOEGMA to interact with highly hydrophobic zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc), thereby forming a potential micellar drug carrier system. The ZnPc molecule was synthesized from phthalonitrile derivatives and its fluorescence, photodegradation, and singlet oxygen quantum yields were determined in various solvents. In solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, dimethyl sulfoxide, and N,N-dimethylformamide, the ZnPc compound exhibited the requisite photophysical and photochemical properties for PDT applications. The pOEGMA homopolymer was synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization, while ZnPc-loaded pOEGMA micelles were prepared using the nanoprecipitation method. Characterization of the pOEGMA, ZnPc, and micelles was conducted using FTIR, 1H-NMR, dynamic light scattering, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometries, gel permeation chromatography, and transmission electron microscopy. The critical micelle concentration was determined to be 0.027 mg ml−1 using fluorescence spectrometry. The drug loading and encapsulation efficiencies of the ZnPc-loaded micelles were calculated to be 0.67% and 0.47%, respectively. Additionally, the release performance of ZnPc from pOEGMA micelles was monitored over a period of nearly 10 d, while the lyophilized micelles exhibited stability for 3 months. Lastly, the ZnPc-loaded micelles were more biocompatible than ZnPc on L929 cell line. The results suggest that the pOEGMA homopolymer possesses the capability to micellize through its methacrylate segments when interacting with highly hydrophobic molecules, presenting a promising avenue for enhancing the delivery efficiency of hydrophobic PSs in PDT. Moreover, it was also deciphered that obtained formulations were highly biocompatible according to cytotoxicity results and could be safely employed as drug delivery systems in further applications. Polysomnography (PSG) is the gold standard for the diagnosis of pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA); however, high costs and limited availability restrict its use for routine screening. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the accuracy of overnight oximetry for the diagnosis of pediatric OSA. Studies evaluating overnight oximetry against PSG-derived apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) in subjects aged ≤18 years were considered in the qualitative analysis and evaluated with the QUADAS-2 tool. Only oximetry parameters adopted by at least four studies using the currently accepted diagnostic thresholds for pediatric OSA (AHI of 1, 5 and 10 events/h) were included for quantitative analyses. A bivariate meta-analysis was used to estimate sensitivity and specificity, as well as to construct summary receiver operator characteristic curves. The positive and negative predictive values were calculated. A total of 28 studies (9122 participants) were included in qualitative analyses. Only 3% oxygen desaturation index (ODI3) was eligible for the quantitative analyses (six studies, 1276 participants). As OSA severity increases sensitivity, specificity and the negative predictive value also increase, reaching values of 79%, 84%, and 89% at AHI ≥ 10, respectively. Oximetry displays a good performance as a screening tool for pediatric OSA, especially with moderate-to-severe disease. ODI3 is particularly effective at ruling out OSA in children who test negative. Kicking is fundamental in many field-based sports. Most studies investigating kicking performance have been conducted with male athletes, resulting in a dearth of specific data to inform coaching of this skill in female players. This systematic review aimed to compare kicking biomechanics in male and female athletes in field-based sports. As per PRISMA guidelines, articles were retrieved from searches across five online databases. Studies investigating kicking biomechanics in field-based athletes of both sexes were eligible for inclusion. Articles were screened using Covidence and data extracted based on STROBE recommendations. The review included 23 studies, featuring 455 soccer players. Male athletes produced significantly greater ball velocities and linear velocities of the ankle, foot, and toe than females. Males had greater ankle plantarflexion angles than females at ball strike, while females used larger trunk flexion ranges than males. Hip and knee torques and ball-to-foot velocity ratios were greater in men than women. Skilled players generated power using tension arcs; a technique not seen in novices. Skill level within sex may have a greater influence on kicking performance than differences between the sexes. In recent years, the incidence of cancer has been increasing year by year, and the burden of the disease and the economic burden caused by it has been worsening. Although chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and other therapeutic means continue to progress, they still inevitably have problems such as high toxicity and side effects, susceptibility to drug resistance, and high price. Photothermal therapy and photodynamic therapy have demonstrated considerable advantages in cancer imaging and treatment due to their minimally invasive and selective nature. However, their development has been constrained by challenges related to drug delivery. In recent times, drug delivery systems constructed based on supramolecular chemistry have been the subject of considerable interest, particularly in view of their compatibility with the high permeability and long retention effect of tumors. Furthermore, the advantage of dissociating the active ingredient under pH, light and other stimuli makes them unique in cancer therapy. This paper reviews the current status of supramolecular nanomedicines in cancer therapy, elucidating the challenges faced and providing a theoretical basis for the efficient and precise treatment of malignant tumors. The power-to-gas (P2G) technology transforms the unidirectional coupling of power network and natural gas network into bidirectional coupling, and its operational characteristics provide an effective way for wind and solar energy accommodation. The paper proposes a bi-level optimal dispatch model for the integrated energy system with carbon capture system and P2G facility. The upper model is an optimal allocation model for coal-fired units, and the lower model is an economic dispatch model for the integrated energy system. Moreover, the upper model is solved by transforming the model into a mixed-integer linear programming problem and calling CPLEX, and the lower model is a multi-objective planning problem, which is solved by improving the small-habitat particle swarm algorithm. Finally, the simulation is validated by the MATLAB platform, and the results show that the simultaneous consideration of carbon capture system and P2G facility improves the economics of the integrated energy system and the capacity of wind and solar energy accommodation. The state of the environment and human behavior today contributes to a wide range of diseases that affect people. Medical professionals often find it challenging to detect disorders by themselves appropriately; it is crucial to recognize and anticipate them early on. This paper aims to detect and predict people with more widespread chronic illnesses. To prevent such diseases from worsening, this research proposes a new deep learning-based technique to predict chronic diseases. Initially, patient data will be collected using Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Then, the missing values from input data are eliminated, and categorical data encoding, outlier detection, and data transformation are performed in the pre-processing stage. After that, the necessary attributes are selected to optimize the performance by eliminating unnecessary features using Binary Grasshopper Whale Optimization Algorithm (BGWOA), which combines the benefits of the Binary Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (BGOA) and Binary Whale Optimization Algorithm (BWOA) algorithms. Then, the disease can be classified as chronic or not, utilizing a three-layer stacked bidirectional long short-term memory (TLSBLSTM) technique. The performance is evaluated on two chronic disease datasets that are publicly available. It successfully obtained good results by preparing the dataset on heart disease and comparing the findings using the most recent state-of-the-art approaches. According to the experimental findings, the proposed approach performs better in evaluating performance measures than the existing approaches. The observed accuracy of the proposed method is 99.87% and 99.84% for chronic kidney disease dataset and cardiovascular disease dataset, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Depression is a public health issue in older adults. This study followed a participatory train-the-trainer approach to develop the Movement-based x 'Elderspirituality-Fu Le Man Xin' intervention. Additionally, a quasi-experimental design was followed to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Data were collected from pre-and post-intervention assessments. A total of 135 older adults with depressive symptoms were recruited, 77 received the intervention and 58 received an active control intervention. Repeated measures ANCOVA showed that the 'Movement-based x 'Elderspirituality-Fu Le Man Xin' intervention significantly reduced depression in cognitively sound participants (F(1, 73) = 62.346, p <.001). Objective: To evaluate production facilities biorefinery design of bioactive enrichment soil fertilizer using food waste generated by farms in Baja California Sur (BCS), México, of five agricultural commodities towards bioeconomic perspectives. Design/methodology/approach: BCS state was the study area. A mathematical model biorefinery design was made using a Mixed Integer Linear Program approach. Four layers of decision were used, Biomass, Production facilities, Storage and Consumer location. SuperPro Designer was used to biorefinery design and model was formulated in Phyton. Results: Model shows two optimal production facilities: Valle de Vizcaino (VV) and Valle de Santo Domingo (VSD). VV processes strawberry and tomato with net profit of 50.28. While VSD processes orange and asparagus with net profit of 35.48. Production line goes from May to April. Ascorbic acid and quercetin were considered to enrichment the soil fertilizer. Limitations on study/implications: This study did not produce bioactive compounds in industrial way only use mathematical modeling program and equations to predict the optimal scenario to production facilities location in an agricultural region. Findings/conclusions: Model showed the importance of consider four interconnected decision layers. The framework was developed for capturing food waste generation dynamics. These dynamics display a very important role in all other dimensions' decisions and that an efficient biorefinery design must account for these dynamics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Palm oil is a widely used agricultural crop in the world, and most of them are produced in Malaysia and Indonesia covering millions of hectares. However, climate change which induces water stress and extreme weather such as El Niño poses a risk to oil palm production. Therefore, it is crucial to identify areas vulnerable to climate change to prioritize adaptation actions for sustainable palm oil production. Several studies have implemented vulnerability assessments for climate change using a limited number of climate variables, despite the complex relationships among vegetation and various water components. Given these situations, this study aims to identify areas vulnerable to climate change for oil palms by analyzing the relationship between vegetation productivity and climate variables, and their changes from 2002 to 2012 and from 2013 to 2022. This analysis utilized satellite-based multiple water components and applied principal component analysis. The identified vulnerable areas were then compared with the biophysical suitability map from another study. Severe El Niño impacts from 2015 to 2016 were also assessed as an indicator of the actual decline in productivity. The results showed that more than half of the study area had experienced water stress recently, particularly in Java, southern Borneo, and the southern New Guinea islands. There was a discrepancy between the biophysical suitability map and the identified vulnerable areas in this study, especially in the southern part of Borneo. These findings highlighted the importance of considering multiple water components in tropical regions and future projections for appropriate palm oil cultivation areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: This paper describes the longitudinal change in sleep, functional, and behavioural characteristics in a cohort of children with Down syndrome, including the effect of sleep interventions in a subset. A prospective longitudinal cohort study was undertaken in children with Down syndrome aged 3–16 years comparing (1) children referred to a tertiary sleep medicine clinic who received sleep hygiene advice and an additional sleep treatment (DSref_I) with (2) children attending the same clinic who only received sleep hygiene advice (DSref_N) and (3) children recruited from the community who, were not receiving any treatment (DScomm). Data collected included demographic and medical history information, Child Sleep Habits Questionnaire‐Abbreviated (CSHQ‐A), Life‐Habits Questionnaire (Life‐H) and Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL) at baseline and then 6‐monthly for a total of 18 months. Any sleep interventions during this time were recorded. A total of 57 children were included (DSref_I, n = 16; DSref_N, n = 25; DScomm, n = 16). At recruitment, the median CSHQ‐A total score was high (>41) in all three subgroups, but highest in the DSref_I subgroup (median [interquartile range] Dsref_I score 58 [53–66] versus DSref_N score 49 [43–53], p = 0.019). Although improved, 80% of participants in the DSref_I subgroup still had a CSHQ‐A total score >41 at the last assessment point. The median total Life‐H and total CBCL scores were not significantly different between groups at baseline and there was no significant time, group, or interaction effect seen through the study. Napier grass is crucial in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by substituting non-renewable resources. When Napier grass is burned, the carbon dioxide (CO2) released is roughly equal to the amount absorbed during its growth, making it a potentially carbon-neutral energy source. This study investigates the impact of ratooning (repeated harvesting) on various aspects of Napier grass, including growth, physiology, biomass production, nutrient content, and chemical analysis. It also explored the interaction between elevated CO2 levels and ratooning. Two experiments were conducted over 12 months. Experiment 1 took place in an open field at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), with two treatments: no ratooning and ratooning at three months after planting (MAP). Experiment 2 was conducted in an open field at UPM and a greenhouse at Tenaga National Berhad Research, Kajang, Selangor. Eight combination treatments were studied: (T1) 1-month elevated CO2 (MECO2) - no ratooned, (T2) 1 MECO2-R at 3 MAP, (T3) 2 MECO2-noR, (T4) 2 MECO2-R at 3 MAP, (T5) 5 MECO2-noR, (T6) 5 MECO2-R at 3 MAP, (T7) 12 MECO2-noR, and (T8) 12 MECO2-R at 3 MAP. The results indicated that, in Experiment 1, no ratooning was more favourable for all parameters compared to ratooning. In Experiment 2, a 1-month exposure to elevated CO2 showed better results compared to longer exposure periods. In conclusion, Napier grass performed better when not subjected to ratooning and exposed to short-term elevated CO2 levels. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with the progressive loss of functional nephrons and hypertension (HTN). Clinical studies demonstrate calcium channel blocker (CCB) therapy mitigates the decline in renal function in humans with essential HTN. However, there are few long-term clinical studies that determine the impact of CCBs in patients with hypertensive CKD. African Americans (AA) have a higher prevalence of CKD and a faster progression to total kidney failure as compared to the white population but the mechanisms are poorly understood. Both clinical evidence (the African American Study of Kidney Disease and Hypertension, or AASK trial) and experimental studies have demonstrated that CCB may expose glomerular capillaries to high systemic pressures and exacerbate CKD progression. Therefore, using a large physiological model, we set out to replicate the AASK trial findings, predict renal hemodynamic responses and the role of the renin-angiotensin system during CCB antihypertensive therapy in a virtual population, and hypothesize mechanisms underlying those findings. Our current mathematical model, HumMod, is comprised of integrated systems that play an integral role in long-term blood pressure (BP) control such as neural, endocrine, circulatory, and renal systems. Parameters (n = 341) that control these systems were randomly varied and resulted in 1,400 unique models that we define as a virtual population. We calibrated these models to individual patient level data from the AASK trial: BP and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) before and after 3 years of amlodipine (10 mg/day). After calibration, the new virtual population (n = 165) was associated with statistically similar BP and GFR before and after CCB. Baseline factors such as elevated single nephron GFR and low tubuloglomerular feedback were correlated with greater declines in renal function and increased glomerulosclerosis after 3 years of CCB. Blocking the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) in the virtual population decreased glomerular pressure, limited glomerular damage, and further decreased BP (-14 ± 8 mmHg) as compared to CCB alone (-11 ± 9 mmHg). Our simulations echo the potential risk of CCB monotherapy in AA CKD patients and support blockade of the renin angiotensin system as a valuable tool in renal disease treatment when combined with CCB therapy. Background/Objectives: The purpose of this systematic review was to assess the global prevalence of sleep bruxism and awake bruxism in pediatric and adult populations. Methods: This systematic review was conducted by analyzing studies published from 2003 to 2023. The following keyword combination was utilized: prevalence, epidemiology, population, and bruxism. The PubMed database was analyzed, supplemented by manual searches using the Google search. Additionally, the snowballing procedure method was applied. A double assessment of the quality of publications was carried out to preserve the highest possible quality of evidence (e.g., Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal checklist). Analyses were conducted using the R statistical language. Results: The global bruxism (sleep and awake) prevalence is 22.22%. The global sleep bruxism prevalence is 21% and awake prevalence is 23%. The occurrence of sleep bruxism, based on polysomnography, was estimated at 43%. The highest prevalence of sleep bruxism was observed in North America at 31%, followed by South America at 23%, Europe at 21%, and Asia at 19%. The prevalence of awake bruxism was highest in South America at 30%, followed by Asia at 25% and Europe at 18%. Conclusions: One in four individuals may experience awake bruxism. Bruxism is a significant factor among women. It was observed that age is a significant factor for the occurrence of sleep bruxism in women. Among the limitations of the study is the lack of analysis of the prevalence of bruxism in Africa and Australia due to not collecting an adequate sample for analysis. In the past century, the key technologies that shaped societal and economic transformation were mechanical, electrical, and automation technologies. In the current century, there are strong trends indicating the prominence of artificial intelligence technology. Therefore, artificial intelligence technology has become more important for all countries. The success of countries in artificial intelligence technology is only possible with well-designed artificial intelligence policy tools. It is important to measure the level of technological advancement for the formulation of policies. However, efforts to measure the scientific and technological advancement of artificial intelligence technology are insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to develop a framework to measure the scientific and technological progress of AI technology. The developed framework includes the number of publications and citations, the number of high-impact scientific journals, the number of patent applications, the number of universities ranked in the top thousand in the field of computer science, the number of international high-impact conferences, and the total number of researchers in higher education. Through these criteria, the level of scientific and technological progress of the countries has been analysed in detail. The findings clearly revealed the leading position of the USA in this field. China followed the USA. These two countries are clearly and positively differentiated from the other countries. Other countries with good performance are the UK, the Netherlands and Germany. Maximum isometric force-time curve variables are positively related to tennis serve velocity (SV), especially in short time frames and specific movements. This influence could vary depending on gender. For this reason, this study aimed at: a) examining differences between anthropometrics and force-time curve variables in male and female young high-performance tennis players, and b) analyzing associations between these variables and SV. Forty-five players were asked to execute two maximal voluntary isometric contractions (MVIC) in joint positions (shoulder internal rotation [SHIR] and shoulder extension [SHE] at 90 degrees) involved in the serve motion. Results indicated significant greater values for males in SV, SHE peak rate of force development (PRFD), SHIR impulse (IMP) 0 to 150 ms and SHE IMP 0 to 150, 200 and 250 ms. Males presented significant correlations between SV, SHIR and SHE MVIC, PRFD, SHIR RFD at 100, 150, 200, 250 ms and SHE RFD at 50 ms. Females showed positive associations between SV, body mass (BM), SHE MVIC, SHIR RFD at 30, 100 and 150 ms, SHIR IMP at 150, 200 and 250 ms and SHE IMP 150, 200 and 250 ms. Males SV seems to rely on maximal absolute and relative strength values, while females SV may be affected to a superior degree by a combination of greater body mass, maximal levels of force production and accumulation in short time frames. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the number of cancer cases and deaths worldwide is predicted to nearly double by 2030, reaching 21.7 million cases and 13 million fatalities. The increase in cancer mortality is due to limitations in the diagnosis and treatment options that are currently available. The close relationship between diagnostics and medicine has made it possible for cancer patients to receive precise diagnoses and individualized care. This article discusses newly developed compounds with potential for photodynamic therapy and diagnostic applications, as well as those already in use. Slope deformation, a key factor affecting slope stability, has complexity and uncertainty. It is crucial for early warning of slope instability disasters to master the future development law of slope deformation. In this paper, a model for point prediction and probability analysis of slope deformation based on DeepAR deep learning algorithm is proposed. In addition, considering the noise problem of slope measurement data, a Gaussian-filter (GF) algorithm is used to reduce the noise of the data, and the final prediction model is the hybrid GF-DeepAR model. Firstly, the noise reduction effect of the GF algorithm is analyzed relying on two actual slope engineering cases, and the DeepAR point prediction based on the original data is also compared with the GF-DeepAR prediction based on the noise reduction data. Secondly, to verify the point prediction performance of the proposed model, it is compared with three typical point prediction models, namely, GF-LSTM, GF-XGBoost, and GF-SVR. Finally, a probability analysis framework for slope deformation is proposed based on the DeepAR algorithm characteristics, and the probability prediction performance of the GF-DeepAR model is compared with that of the GF-GPR and GF-LSTMQR models to further validate the superiority of the GF-DeepAR model. The results of the study show that: 1) The best noise reduction is achieved at the C1 and D2 sites with a standard deviation σ of 0.5. The corresponding SNR and MSE values are 34.91 (0.030) and 35.62 (0.674), respectively. 2) A comparison before and after noise reduction reveals that the R² values for the C1 and D2 measurement points increased by 0.081 and 0.070, respectively. Additionally, the MAE decreased from 0.079 to 0.639, and the MAPE decreased from 0.737% to 0.912%. 3) The prediction intervals constructed by the GF-DeepAR model can effectively envelop the actual slope deformation curves, and the PICP in both C1 and D1 is 100%. 4) Whether it is point prediction or probability prediction, the GF-DeepAR model excels at extracting feature information from slope deformation sequences characterized by randomness and complexity. It conducts predictions with high accuracy and reliability, indicating superior performance compared to other models. Clinical trials of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in children have important implications for the early identification and management of CKD. The selection of clinical trial outcomes is critical for assessing the effectiveness of interventions in pediatric CKD clinical trials. This review systematically examines the spectrum of outcome measures deployed in pediatric CKD clinical trials, which includes clinical and alternative outcomes, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and safety indicators. Alternative outcome measures were stratified into four levels of evidence strength: convincing, probable, suggestive, and inconclusive. Consequently, the selection of outcome measures for pediatric CKD clinical trials mandates careful consideration of both their methodological feasibility and the robustness of their evidence base. Moreover, the burgeoning field of PROMs warrants integration into the design of future pediatric clinical trials to enrich the relevance and impact of research findings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To evaluate site‐related changes in periodontal pocket depth (PPD) after non‐surgical periodontal therapy and to identify predictors for PPD changes in a retrospective patient data analysis. Materials and Methods: PPD, clinical attachment level, bleeding on probing, tooth mobility (TM), furcation involvement (FI), abutment status, adherence to supportive periodontal care (SPC) and SPC follow‐ups were obtained from fully documented patient data before periodontal therapy (baseline, T0), after active periodontal therapy (APT, T1) and during SPC (T2). PPD changes were classified into deteriorated or unchanged/improved at the site level. Multi‐level logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors influencing PPD changes during SPC. Results: This retrospective study included 51 females and 65 males (mean T0 age: 54.8 ± 10.1 years, 25 smokers, 12 diabetics) suffering from Stage III/IV periodontitis. Evaluation outcome: T0/16,044 sampling sites/2674 teeth; T1/15,636/2606; T2/14,754/2459. During 9.0 ± 2.3 years SPC, PPD decreased (−1.33 ± 0.70 mm) by 21.8% of the sites, remained unchanged by 41.4% and increased (1.40 ± 0.78 mm) by 36.8%. Distopalatal FI (p <.001, odds ratio [OR]: 0.252, 95% confidence interval [CI] for OR: 0.118–0.540), residual pockets (p <.001, OR: 0.503, 95% CI: 0.429–0.590) and TM Degrees I–III (Degree I: p =.002, OR: 0.765, 95% CI: 0.646–0.905; Degree II: p =.006, OR: 0.658, 95% CI: 0.489–0.886; Degree III: p =.023, OR: 0.398, 95% CI: 0.180–0.879) correlated significantly with increasing PPD. Conclusions: Over 75% of PPD remained unchanged or increased during SPC. Distopalatal FI, TM Degrees I–III and residual pockets after APT lead to worsening of periodontal pockets. Rett syndrome is an X-linked neurodevelopmental disorder caused by mutation of Mecp2 gene and primarily affects females. Glial cell dysfunction has been implicated in in Rett syndrome (RTT) both in patients and in mouse models of this disorder and can affect synaptogenesis, glial metabolism and inflammation. Here we assessed whether treatment of adult (5–6 months old) symptomatic Mecp2- heterozygous female mice with N-acetyl cysteine conjugated to dendrimer (D-NAC), which is known to target glia and modulate inflammation and oxidative injury, results in improved behavioral phenotype, sleep and glial inflammatory profile. We show that unbiased global metabolomic analysis of the hippocampus and striatum in adult Mecp2-heterozygous mice demonstrates significant differences in lipid metabolism associated with neuroinflammation, providing the rationale for targeting glial inflammation in this model. Our results demonstrate that treatment with D-NAC (10 mg/kg NAC) once weekly is more efficacious than equivalently dosed free NAC in improving the gross neurobehavioral phenotype in symptomatic Mecp2-heterozygous female mice. We also show that D-NAC therapy is significantly better than saline in ameliorating several aspects of the abnormal phenotype including paw clench, mobility, fear memory, REM sleep and epileptiform activity burden. Systemic D-NAC significantly improves microglial proinflammatory cytokine production and is associated with improvements in several aspects of the phenotype including paw clench, mobility, fear memory, and REM sleep, and epileptiform activity burden in comparison to saline-treated Mecp2-hetereozygous mice. Systemic glial-targeted delivery of D-NAC after symptom onset in an older clinically relevant Rett syndrome model shows promise in improving neurobehavioral impairments along with sleep pattern and epileptiform activity burden. Manual measurements to estimate the height and diameter of sago stems can be performed directly. However, estimates of height and diameter from land cover using remote sensing or aerial photographic coverage have not been widely featured in articles at home or abroad. To determine the potential and distribution of sago plant species that can be produced per area in the sago forest area, we mapped the sago land area using drone aircraft to cover the sago land area. We determined the diameter and height classes of sago plants using a Digital Surface Model (DSM) data application method. The results of the analysis showed that there was a distribution of diameter and height of sago plants varying according to height, namely for strata-level seedlings (0 to 6 m) as much as 100, saplings (6 to 12 m) as much as 818, poles (12 to 18 m) as much as 3,332, and trees (> 18 m) as much as 3.79. for the area of sago land mapped, and can be processed into an orthomosaic covering an area of 126,883 ha.
