The village customary institution was established with the aim of fostering an understanding of village development based on local values. However, this goal has not been fully realized as the institution often functions only as a formal structure within the village government, without actively contributing to community empowerment planning. This study, using a qualitative descriptive approach, involved 23 purposively selected informants. Data collection included observations, interviews, document collection, and audio-visual materials.The research found several issues in the implementation of community empowerment policies by the Haumeniana Village customary institution. First, policy standards were flawed from the beginning, leading to ineffective policies. Second, there was a lack of sufficient human resources, incentives, and infrastructure to support policy implementation. Third, communication and coordination efforts between organizations, as well as capacity-building activities, remained ineffective. Fourth, the characteristics of the implementing agents faced challenges at the vertical level, further hindering effective policy implementation. Fifth, the economic conditions in the village were inadequate to support the successful execution of community empowerment policies. Despite these challenges, the study found that the implementers were consistently willing to collaborate with the village government as partners in community empowerment. However, these efforts require significant improvements in policy formulation, resource allocation, communication, and coordination to achieve meaningful results in community development and empowerment. This article aimed to investigate the ESL Senior High School student’s perception of Morphological Awareness Instruction and the students’ vocabulary and the significant differences of students who are trained using Morphological Awareness Instruction to enhance their reading comprehension. Two research questions were formulated, namely: First, how are the ESL Senior High School students’ understanding of the application of morphological awareness instruction to enhance their vocabulary and reading comprehension. Secondly, what are the differences of students who are trained using Morphological Awareness Instruction to enhance their vocabulary and reading comprehension with those who are not? To answer these questions, an experimental research method was implemented. The research sample consisted of 60 students of a Senior High School in Pleret, Bantul, Yogyakarta, who were selected using two phases of random sampling. The data set of questionnaires and tests were used to collect the data. The independent sample t-test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the Morphological Awareness Instruction significantly improved students’ vocabulary skills and their reading comprehension.

Background: Foreign bodies (FBs) in the ear, nose, and throat are frequently encountered clinical entities among the children. These ear, nose, and throat FBs are often seen by pediatricians, primary care physicians, and otolaryngologists. Aim of the Study: The objective of this study is to analyze various types of FBs in the ear, nose, and throat among children and its clinical profile with its treatment in the pediatric age group. Materials and Methods: This descriptive retrospective study was carried out at a tertiary care teaching hospital. During 10-year period from April 2010 to May 2020, 452 pediatric patients with FB in the ear, nose, and throat were managed. The clinical profile and management of these children were analyzed. The clinical data were collected from the admission charts and clinic tickets. Results: In this study, the majority of the FBs were found in the nasal cavity, which constitutes 30.53%, whereas 28.31% found in the external auditory canal, 11.72% in the pharynx, 13.49% in the esophagus and 15.72% in laryngotracheobronchial (LTB) tract. The age ranges from 0 to 16 years, with a mean age was 7.21 years. The majority of the ear, nose, and throat FBs were found in the age group of 0–5 years. Out of the 452 cases, 243 (53.76%) were removed under general anesthesia. Vegetable seed was the most common FB in the nose. Coin was the most common FB in the esophagus, whereas vegetable seeds were the most common FB found in the bronchus. The open safety pin is a hazardous LTB FB. Conclusion: FBs in the ear, nose, and throat of children are common. The accurate diagnosis and treatment of the FBs in the pediatric age is often challenging. These FBs can be associated with significant morbidity and complications if not removed immediately.

Background and Aim: The amino acid content of feed can affect growth performance of poultry during the first 6 weeks of life or the starter phase. Unlike for broiler and layer chickens, there is no information concerning standard requirements for tryptophan and threonine during the starter phase. This study aimed to determine the amount of threonine and tryptophan that should be supplemented in chicken feed to maximize growth performance and small intestinal morphology of native chickens during the starter phase. Materials and Methods: A total of 128 day-old native chickens were divided into four treatment groups with four replications based on a completely randomized design. The treatment diets were as follows: T0 (control feed); T1 (T0+0.10% L-tryptophan+0.35% L-threonine); T2 (T0+0.17% L-tryptophan+0.68% L-threonine); and T3 (T0+0.25% L-tryptophan+1.00% L-threonine). Materials and Methods: The cattle employed in this research were 12 male Bali cattle aged between 2 and 2.5 years old based on the teeth estimation. The average initial body weight of the cattle during the research was 181.50±16.51 kg. The complete feed contained Gliricidia sepium, natural grass, ground corn, bran pollard, and rice bran which have been compiled into three types of ration of T1, T2, and T3. The objective of the research is to find out the effectiveness of the application of guided inquiry learning models to student learning outcomes. The research method used quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design type. The population covered 34 students with saturated sampling technique with a sample of 34 students. The research instrument used test questions and documentation studies as well as data analysis techniques using the independent t-test and effect size test. This research aims to determine the process and results of the development of material-based solutions to improve the mathematical problem-solving skills of elementary school teacher Education Program, Citra Bangsa University. This research is development research with the model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subject in this study was 2 expert validators and a limited trial subject of second-semester students, elementary school teacher Education, Citra Bangsa University. The study was conducted in the odd semester of 2018/2019. The instrument used is a validity test questionnaire and practicality test. The data analysis techniques used are quantitative and quantifiable descriptive analyses. The results of the development of this resolution-based teaching book are the results of the percentage of basic mathematics teaching book 84% including valid categories, the results of the percentage of test book design validation of 92.5% including a very valid category. Practicality test results showed 88.56% inclusive of very practical category and reliability test result of 0.725 including reliability category.

Subject to increasing penetrations of renewable sources like solar photovoltaic (SPV) and wind energy sources, power system oscillation damping is going to be a critical challenge for system operators. This work proposes a new dual compensated governor (DCG) in coordination with a power system stabilizer (PSS) of a pumped storage hydro plant for power oscillation damping subject to intermittent SPV and wind penetration for a hydro, wind, and SPV integrated power system. The phase lag provided by the hydro governor is compensated by additional phase lead contributed by the dual compensation, where speed and real power deviations brought by uncertain SPV and wind penetrations are simultaneously controlled by two lead-lag controllers before being applied to conventional Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) governor. Again, subject to critical oscillatory unstable conditions, the DCG is coordinated with PSS through a multiobjective function employing a new modified Differential Evolutionary-Particle swarm optimization (MDEPSO) algorithm. Different case studies with sudden and random SPV and wind penetrations being executed with the proposed controller considering a two area four machine and 39 bus multimachine system with pumped storage hydro units to observe system oscillations are considered. The proposed damping control action has been implemented to damp these oscillations, and the damped response has been analyzed with eigenvalue distributions and Bode plots with sensitivity analysis. The proposed action is found to be much more efficient in contrast to conventional PID governor and PSS damping action. Also, the usage of present hydro governors can be much improved by this coordinated controller action.

Present study was designed to evaluate the effect of slow release exogenous melatonin on endocrinological profiles in 24:00 hours in adult mithun bulls during different seasons (winter, spring, summer and autumn). Mithun bulls (n=12) were selected and divided into two groups, Gr I: Control (n=6) and Gr II: Treatment (n=6; melatonin implant @ 18 mg/50 kg bwt). Endocrinological profiles such as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone, cortisol, thyroxine (T4), insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), prolactin and melatonin (MT) were estimated at 04:00 h interval (08:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00, 24:00 and 04:00 h) for one whole day in four seasons. Melatonin treated group had significantly higher FSH, LH, testosterone, IGF-1 and MT than control group; and MT significantly reduced the level of T4, cortisol and prolactin in different seasons at different collection times. The study concludes that MT has significantly improved the endocrine profiles in different seasons and collection times. MT treatment and spring and winter season had significantly greater beneficial effects on reproduction and artificial breeding programs in mithun species in the semi-intensive management in the present location.

Objective: The study objective was to study successful graft uptake and hearing gain by using different graft materials in pediatric tympanoplasty. Materials and Methods: Patients younger than 16 years of age who had undergone tympanoplasty between January 2016 and February 2019 were included in this study. Temporalis fascia or perichondrium was used as the graft material in tympanoplasty. Patient details such as age, sex, side of operated ear, operation technique, audiological profile before and after surgery, and the status of postoperative graft were noted. An intact graft and air–bone gap (ABG) ≤25 dB were considered as successful outcome after postsurgical period. Preoperative audiogram and audiogram after 6 months of surgery were advised for comparison.Results: Thirty-six pediatric patients were included in our study. Temporalis fascia graft was used as the graft material in 22 patients and cartilage graft was used as the graft material in 14 patients. The successful graft uptake was 89% in the temporalis fascia group, whereas it was 96% in the cartilage group. In temporalis fascia group, ABG before surgery was 35.53 dB, ABG after surgery was 17.12 dB, and the postoperative gain was 18.41 dB. In the tragal cartilage group, preoperative ABG was 32.42 dB and postoperative ABG was 15.13 dB, with a postoperative gain of 17.29 dB. The comparison between the temporalis fascia and the tragal cartilage groups was statistically significant for successful graft uptake (P = 0.0119) and hearing outcome (P = 0.0484). Conclusion: Temporalis fascia gives better hearing outcome, whereas tragal cartilage gives better graft uptake in pediatric tympanoplasty.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical profiles, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute epiglottitis at a tertiary care teaching hospital of eastern India. Methods: This is a retrospective study in which 28 patients of acute epiglottitis participated. This study was conducted between January 2016 and October 2019. The diagnosis of acute epiglottitis was based on the clinical presentations and fiberoptic laryngoscopic examinations of the larynx and hypopharynx. Details of age, gender, personal history, clinical symptoms, treatment, and hospital stay were evaluated. Results: Out of the 28 patients with acute epiglottitis, 17 (60.71%) were male and 11 (39.29%) were female with age ranged from 4 years to 62 years and a mean age of 23.45 years. The median duration from the onset to resorting to physicians is 3 d. Among the 28 patients, 4 patients (14.29%) were under the treatment for diabetes mellitus. Four cases (14.29%) required airway management with intubation and tracheostomy. Conclusions: Acute epiglottitis is an acute infectious condition of the supraglottis and may lead to airway obstruction. Clinical presentations alone are insufficient for the diagnosis of acute epiglottitis. Fiberoptic nasopharyngolaryngoscopic examination should be performed as soon as possible for confirmation of the disease.

Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a benign lesion seen in the respiratory airway caused by human papillomatosis virus (HPV).RRP can affects children to young adults. Most of the childhood RRP occur at birth which contaminated from birth canals of the mother. In adult ages, the infections transmitted via sexual route. The lesions are often seen as exophytic nodules, mostly in the larynx and occasionally at the nasopharynx, tracheobronchial trees and lung parenchyma. This disease is often unpredictable and varies from spontaneous remission to aggressive persistent or recurrence in nature.RRP has chance for malignant transformation to squamous cell carcinoma although it is a rare happening. The diagnosis is confirmed by histopathological study. Presently there is no definite treatment for RRP available. Surgery is the treatment of choice along with several adjuvant therapies available. The aim of this review article is to describe the detail etiology, epidemiology, clinical presentations, investigations and treatment of RRP.

This paper entitled "The Ritual of Ecolexicon in the Text of Batar in Tetun Fehan Malaka East Nusa Tenggara Province: Ecolinguistic view is a part of the corpus of local wisdom that needs to be examined for the sake of sustainability of eternity ecology of batar. This research aims to analyze and discover the ritual process in text of batar by applying the theory of ecolinguistic focusing on three logical dimensions (ideological, biological, and sociological); that supported the theory of linguistic and cultural linguistic theory. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative with quantitative naturalistic in nature. This research applies fieldwork methods. The form of research uses the method of participation observation, interviews, and triangulations. The text of batar is rich of noun, categorical, verb, adjective, and numeral lexicons. The implementation of the four dimensions of modification gave birth to a totality in dissecting the financial ecolexicon in interdependence with the inner rituals, namely ideological dimensions, biological dimensions, sociological dimensions and textual dimensions.
