The work environment plays an important role in employee productivity. Due to the work environment is a set of relationships that exist between employees and the environment where they work. In addition, we can see that most of the common problems that affect the work environment and productivity of employees in manufacturing companies in Batu Pahat is that the workplace perspective of most companies is unhealthy and dangerous. Therefore, this study focuses on the effect of the work environment on employee productivity in a Batu Pahat manufacturing company. In this study, the researcher aims to identify the effect of the work environment on employee productivity in a Batu Pahat manufacturing company. Quantitative methods are used in this research. Questionnaires were distributed to 384 respondents in manufacturing companies in Batu Pahat. The response rate was 70.31% and data was collected and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the descriptive analysis show that working conditions are the main effect of employee productivity in manufacturing companies in Batu Pahat. The physical work environment, working conditions and workplace layout have a significant relationship between employee productivity. This research will help research to know more about the effects of the work environment. This finding may be a reference for companies in manufacturing to know the work environment that can affect employee productivity.

Pigs are sensitive to high environmental temperature due to difficulties in eliminating excess body heat. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of ambient temperature on growth performances, carcass traits and meat quality of pigs. This trial was carried out at the Experimental Center of Livestock at Sunchon National University, South Korea. A total of 40 three-way crossbred pigs (initial body weight 38.50 ± 0.55 kg) were assigned into four groups: group 1 (12°C to 19°C), group 2 (19°C to 25°C), group 3 (25°C to 31°C) and group 4 (31°C to 37°C). Pigs were offered ad libitum diet and free access to drinking water. Weight gain and feed intake were significantly enhanced in groups 1 and 2, respectively. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) saat ini diakui dan banyak digunakan sebagai metadisiplin yang menjembatani berbagai displin ilmu untuk menciptakan pengetahuan secara keseluruhan. Pembelajaran STEAM berperan penting dalam menghasilkan sebuah produk dengan mengintegrasikan lima disiplin ilmu. Namun, pembelajaran STEAM di Indonesia belum banyak diterapkan untuk mempelajari matematika dengan menghasilkan sebuah produk STEAM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi persepsi calon guru matematika terhadap pembelajaran STEAM melalui proyek Straw Bridge (Jembatan dari Sedotan Plastik) yang diterapkan di sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket tertutup yang terdiri dari empat item pertanyaan. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 15 mahasiswa calon guru matematika yang sebelumnya telah terlibat langsung dalam pembelajaran STEAM. Analisis deskriptif dilakukan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa calon guru matematika terhadap proyek Straw Bridge (Jembatan dari Sedotan Plastik) yang diterapkan di sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui pembelajaran STEAM, mahasiswa calon guru matematika berkeyakinan mampu meningkatkan keaktifan, kreativitas, dan konsentrasi belajar peserta didik sehingga peserta didik dapat menemukan dan mengembangkan ide-ide baru dalam mendesain dan menyelesaikan proyek STEAM-Straw Bridge (Jembatan dari Sedotan).

Saat ini, perkembangan teknologi dan informasi sangat pesat seiring dengan berjalannya waktu. Salah satu terobosan pendidikan Indonesia yang bertujuan untuk membangun masyarakat yang mampu menciptakan ekonomi berbasis ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi adalah pendidikan STEAM. Pendidikan STEAM-Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics merupakan sebuah integrasi dari berbagai bidang disiplin ilmu yang berada dalam satu kesatuan pendekatan pembelajaran. Salah satu produk STEAM yang dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran adalah katapel (slingshot). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi calon guru matematika terkait dengan katapel dalam pembelajaran STEAM di Sekolah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara terstruktur, untuk melihat dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana persepsi calon guru matematika terkait dengan pembelajaran STEAM di tingkat sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk STEAM berupa katapel dapat diimplementasikan di tingkat sekolah melalui pendekatan pembelajaran STEAM dan boleh meningkatkan keterampilan abad-21.

Hairy cell leukemia (HCL) is a rare B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Patients typically present with cytopenia and splenomegaly. We describe the case of a 78-year-old patient with refractory HCL who acutely developed a cystic lesion on the back while receiving moxetumomab pasudotox therapy. Biopsy of the lesion revealed the presence of adenocarcinoma, which prompted a detailed evaluation resulting in a diagnosis of stage IV gastric cancer. Nevertheless, to establish any association between moxetumomab pasudotox therapy and secondary cancer development, a satisfactory number of studies need to be conducted.

Objective: to identify the comorbid conditions associated with an increased risk of severe Dengue in clinically diagnosed patients with Dengue viral infections. Study Design: Comparative cross sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Dengue ward, Department of Medicine, Combined Military Hospital Lahore, from Oct to Nov 2021. Methodology: Three hundred patients with confirmed Dengue infection were enrolled in the study. These patients were divided into two groups: 150 patients with comorbids (diabetes mellitus, hypertension, ischemic heart disease) and 150 patients without comorbids. The impact of comorbid conditions on the severity of dengue fever was studied. Results: Seventy-three out of the 300 patients had Dengue Fever without warning signs, while 79 out of the 300 patients had Severe Dengue Fever. Almost half of the patients (148) 300 had Dengue Fever with warning signs. The mean age of participants is 45.62±14.06 years. Patients with diabetes mellitus were more likely to develop Dengue without warning signs. Patients with hypertension were more likely to develop severe Dengue. Conclusion: This study showed that comorbid conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension are important risk factors for developing severe Dengue.

Introduction: Globally, acute generalized peritonitis ranks among the top surgical emergencies. Different studies have been conducted to show the amplitude of peritonitis worldwide eliciting a huge impact on overall patient morbidity and mortality. Largely peritonitis is caused by a gastrointestinal perforation or anastomotic leak. In peritonitis, anaerobes & gram-negative organisms are mostly responsible for sepsis and morbidity due to the overactive inflammatory cascade by endotoxins which is amenable to timely intervention. Aims & Objectives: The study's aim was to evaluate whether using normal saline or metronidazole solution during intraoperative peritoneal lavage (IOPL), results in a lower rate of postoperative wound infection. Place and Duration of Study: This study was undertaken at the South Surgical Ward, Mayo Hospital Lahore for 6 months from February 2nd, 2021, to August 1st, 2021. Material & Methods: Consecutive sampling strategy followed by a randomized controlled trial were used to induct and provide intervention to 90 patients aged 15-65 years with peritonitis caused by hollow viscus perforation. The patients were subdivided into 2 groups A& B(n=45 each).Two liters of normal saline were used for peritoneal lavage in group A, while two liters of normal saline were combined with 200 mL of metronidazole solution and administered to group B. intraoperatively.Baseline physiological parameters such as age, sex, BMI , intra operative surgical parameters as duration of operation and post-operative course were recorded till discharge. On 10th POD, patients returned to OPD for further monitoring. An infection was diagnosed if the patient had post-operative symptoms such as a high temperature, increased TLC, wound discharge, redness, or pain. Data was entered and analyzed using SPSS version 23. Results: A majority (54.44%) of the patients were young adults. Mean age of 37.33 ± 10.53 years of patients in the metronidazole group was comparable to mean age 40.04 ± 11.96 years in the saline group, difference was not significant (p=0.067). Male/female ratio in Metronidazole and Saline groups were 17/25 and 10/18, respectively. Patients who received intraperitoneal lavage with normal saline were more likely to develop wound infections (17/45) (37.78%), while only 3/45) (6.67% of those who received metronidazole solution did so (p 0.0001). Conclusion: Based on the results of this experiment, using metronidazole solution for intraoperative peritoneal lavage instead of normal saline reduces the occurrence of postoperative wound infection.

Masyarakat Desa Tanjung Utara sebagian besar tidak memanfaatkan lahan atau pekarangan karena sering terjadi banjir secara periodik setiap tahun. Saat ini, Indonesia bahkan dunia sedang mengalami covid-19 yang tidak hanya membawa masalah kesehatan masyarakat, tetapi juga berimplikasi luas, seperti kelancaran distribusi pangan. Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Pertanian telah membentuk program Pekarangan Pangan Lestari. Program ini sangat tepat untuk diwujudkan di masa covid-19. Kegiatan ini bertujuan 1) Memberdayakan masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan pekarangan dengan menanam berbagai tanaman sayuran untuk pemenuhan gizi keluarga dan memberi penyuluhan tentang manfaat tanaman sayuran, 2) Mensosialisasikan program Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L). Melalui berbagai teknik budidaya yang dapat diterapkan dengan membuat demonstrasi plot (demplot) baik langsung lahan pekarangan maupun menggunakan metode-metode lain seperti small garden, hidroponik, vertikultur dan microgreens. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian telah meningkatkan pemahaman ibu-ibu mengenai budidaya sayuran di pekarangan dan program pekarangan pangan lestari.

The present work deals with the Argon (Ar) Thermal plasma‐induced surface modification of Cu and its correlation with the electrical and field emission (FE) properties. Polycrystalline Cu targets were treated with Ar thermal plasma under atmospheric pressure at different treatment times ranging from 5 min to 30 min. XRD patterns revealed the absence of new phase in treated samples. However, significant variation in peak intensities and shifting is observed, which is explained on the basis of thermal plasma ions induced defect generation and annihilation processes. The electrical conductivity of processed Cu targets measured by four‐probe method ranges from 1.9 MS/m to 70 MS/m and is well correlated with the crystallite size variation. Surface modification induced work function alternations investigated by employing Scanning Kelvin Probe (SKP) technique are in the range of 4.69 eV 4.97 eV. The irradiated morphology explored by optical and scanning electron microscopy analyses revealed the formation of localized melt pools, grains, hillocks, spheroids, and sputtered patches, which are explainable on the basis of Coulomb's explosion, thermal spike model, plasma‐induced sputtering, and re‐deposition. FE properties of thermal plasma‐treated Cu are measured in diode configuration by measuring I‐V characteristics of target under ultra‐high vacuum condition. The improved FE parameters such as turn‐on field (Eo), field enhancement factor (β), and maximum current density (Jmax) come out to be in the range of 3–7.5 V/μm, 1715–3223, and 284–872 nA/cm2, respectively and their correlation with plasma‐induced surface structural, morphological and work function modifications is discussed. Sestrin2 (SESN2) is a stress-inducible protein known for its cytoprotective functions, but its role in diabetic vascular complications remains unclear. This study investigated the impact of SESN2 on methylglyoxal (MGO)-induced endothelial–mesenchymal transition (EndMT). Human endothelial cells were transfected with SESN2 siRNA duplexes to silence SESN2 expression, followed by MGO treatment. SESN2 knockdown significantly exacerbated MGO-induced oxidative stress, as evidenced by the reduced expression of antioxidant markers. Furthermore, SESN2 silencing enhanced the inflammatory response to MGO, demonstrated by the increased levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Notably, SESN2 deficiency promoted EndMT, a key process in diabetes-induced cardiovascular complications, as shown by the increased expression of mesenchymal markers and the decreased expression of endothelial markers. These findings suggest that SESN2 plays a critical protective role in endothelial cells against MGO-induced damage. The study provides novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying diabetic cardiovascular complications and identifies SESN2 as a potential therapeutic target for preventing endothelial dysfunction in diabetes. Our results indicate that SESN2 downregulation may contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetic vascular complications by promoting EndMT, increased oxidative stress, and inflammation. This study focuses on reviewing information from several articles published in educational and social sciences journals worldwide to document the trend of geometric thinking studies in the Indonesian context. The current study shows that the number of publications on geometric thinking has increased in the last four years. The studies conducted in Indonesia and for Indonesian students used a systematic review guided by PRISMA to examine a hundred articles indexed by Scopus, Google Scholar, and Science and Technology Index (SINTA) between 2011 and 2021. Van Hiele’s Geometric Thinking Test, developed by Usiskin, is extensively used when examining geometric thinking levels in the intervention. In addition, descriptive analysis and a t-test are also employed. The result shows that the most common type of geometric thinking experimental research is quasi-experimental design, with the qualitative approach found to be the most used. Therefore, educators should increase the quantity of qualitative and quantitative studies from various nations about geometric thinking. Furthermore, it is also essential to examine the correlation between student performance in geometry and the teacher’s level of geometric thinking. Finally, combining the van Hiele Geometry test with interviews is strongly advised to provide comprehensive and in-depth data for examining geometric thinking.

Lightning strikes are one of the main causes of power system trip-outs. When the overhead transmission line (TL) connected to a wind farm is struck by lightning, large currents propagate to the substation, resulting in severe problems. To enhance the performance of wind farm substations, the transient behavior during lightning must be analyzed. The main contribution of this paper is to study the lightning behavior of wind farm substations whose design is different from other conventional substations. The lightning surge overvoltages caused by back flashover and shielding-failure of the 132 kV overhead TL connected to the 33/132 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) of Miramar wind farm are calculated. This wind farm has been built in Argentina to achieve grid connection and power transmission with a total capacity of 98.7 MW. The work investigates the fast-front lightning transient overvoltages in the AIS caused by lightning flashes striking the 132 kV overhead TL. The distributed parameter model of the TL, including towers, phase-conductors, the shielding-wire, insulators, and the span, is investigated using Digsilent Power Factory software. In addition, the AIS apparatus, including surge arresters (SAs), two 60 MVA transformers, and circuit breakers, are also considered in the model. The strike is applied first at the shielding-wire, and the impact on the transient overvoltages at the TL and the substation during the back flashover phenomenon are analyzed. On the other hand, the shielding-failure is studied and the transient overvoltages at the TL and the substation are analyzed. The impact on the transient overvoltages at the TL and the substation is investigated, taking into account the SA protection operation, and its dissipated energy during lightning flashes is calculated. The study results are important for the lightning protection systems design of wind farm substations connected to overhead TLs.

Hybrid flow shop scheduling (HFS) has been thoroughly studied due to its significant impact on productivity. Besides the impact on productivity, the abovementioned problem has attracted researchers from different background because of its difficulty in obtaining the most optimum solution. HFS complexity provides good opportunity for researcher to propose an efficient optimization method for the said problem. Recently, research in HFS has moved towards sustainability by considering energy utilization in the study. Consequently, the problem becomes more difficult to be solved via existing approach. This paper modeled and optimized HFS with energy consumption using Tiki-Taka Algorithm (TTA). TTA is a novel algorithm inspired by football playing style that focuses on short passing and player positioning. In different with existing metaheuristics, the TTA collected information from nearby solution and utilized multiple leaders’ concept in the algorithm. The research began with problem modeling, followed by TTA algorithm formulation. A computational experiment is then conducted using benchmark problems. Then, a case study problem is presented to assess the applicability of model and algorithm in real-life problems. The results indicated that the TTA consistently was in the first and second ranks in all benchmark problems. In addition, the case study results confirmed that TTA is able to search the best fitness solution by compromising the makespan and total energy utilization in the production schedule. In future, the potential of TTA will be further investigated for flexible hybrid flow shop scheduling problems.
