The proposed different classification schemes based on modified RVM and Optimized RVM were implemented, and observed the classification outputs. The proposed Optimized RVM classification technique is successfully applied to the classification of the input images. The quantitative and qualitative classification results are evaluated and compared. The accuracy of the proposed modified RVM is improved by applying the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technique. The kernel parameter of the modified RVM is optimized using ACO, and the results got improved a little better than the modified RVM based classifier. The general agreement between all classification techniques discussed in the above sections indicates that the inclusion of ACO for RVM parameter optimization adds very accurate classification in various multispectral satellite images. Metallic fillers play a significant role in the brake friction material formulation due to its high thermal conductivity, tribo-load bearing ability against the rotor, friction stability and wear resistance. Brass powder is widely used in the formulation because of good thermal conductivity, fade and wear resistance. The commercial brass composed of 70 wt.% copper and 30 wt.% zinc. In this work, the brass powders with identical morphology and different weight percentage (wt.%) copper and zinc content is evaluated for its tribological and physico-mechanical performance in the brake friction material formulation. Three set of brake friction pads were fabricated with three different brass powders of varying copper and zinc content, 60% Cu-40% Zn, 70% Cu-30% Zn, and 80% Cu-20% Zn, respectively. The objectives of this study were to find the physico-mechanical properties based on Indian Standard IS 2742 and tribological performance of the brake pads based on ASTM G99-95 using pin-on-disc tribometer. The wear mechanism of the brake composite of worn surface was studied using scanning electron microscope. The brake friction composites were ranked based on extension evaluation method by considering the tribo-mechanical performance parameters. Renganarayanan A thermodynamic analysis was performed on half-effect, single-effect and double-effect VARS with R-134a-DMAC as working fluid to study the influence of absorber mass transfer effectiveness (Ea) at various generator and evaporator temperatures on performance parameters namely circulation ratio, Coefficient of performance (Cop) and second law efficiency. The variations in heat quantities of absorber and generator were also studied, using a computer simulation which revealed that the single, double and half effect system can efficiently be applied, where the heat source is available at 80, 130 and 55[degrees]C, respectively. Double-effect system yielded maximum percentage increase in Cop, when Ea varied from 0.5 to 1. The thermo-dynamic penalty of half-effect system is its high rate heat rejection at the absorbers.

To provide better care to the people, who are living in rural areas and whoever in need of emergency medical care, it becomes essential to develop remote monitoring health care applications. Body Area Networks (BAN) that are formed with wearable or implanted wireless sensor devices will play an important role to achieve the above task. Since the communication in BAN is of short communication distance and higher data rate, the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radio signals make themselves as the right candidates due to their inherent characteristics. This requires more research in design and development of UWB transceivers, especially for implantable biomedical devices. This paper proposes a UWB antenna design and a numerical channel model to predetermine the path loss characteristics of an on- body to in-body channel in UWB. The proposed model has been developed using ray tracing procedures and includes the antenna polarization and radiation pattern. Objectives. Particle size and shape can influence the properties of materials. However, to improve the physicochemical and biological properties of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), silicate-based hydraulic cements were introduced. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the major constituents and crystalline structures along with the surface morphology of different types of calcium silicate-based cement (CSC). Materials and Methods. Six different types of CSC (white Portland cement, white ProRoot MTA, white MTA Angelus, Biodentine, and Endosequence, both putty and paste) were used in this study. Five samples of each material were analyzed in both uncured and cured cement using scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Results. SEM analysis showed that the surfaces of all materials consisted of particle sizes ranging from 0.194 μm to approximately 51.82 μm. The basic elements found in both uncured and cured cement of all tested materials using EDX were carbon, calcium, silicon, and oxygen. A difference was observed in the presence or absence of magnesium, aluminum, bismuth, zirconium, and tantalum. XRD showed that all tested materials were composed mainly of tricalcium silicate and dicalcium silicate, which are the main components of Portland cement. FTIR analysis showed aromatic rings, phosphine PH, alkyl halides, and alcohol O-H groups in all tested materials but at different wavenumbers. Conclusions. The different types of CSCs tested in this study were primarily modified types of Portland cement with the addition of radiopacifiers. ProRoot MTA and MTA Angelus contained bismuth oxide, Biodentine contains zirconium oxide, whereas Endosequence root repair materials (both putty and paste) contained zirconium oxide and tantalum oxide. Endosequence root repair materials showed smaller particle sizes than the other groups. White PC had the most irregular and large particle sizes. CSC had a smaller particle size, except for MTA Angelus. Clinical Relevance. The composition of CSC has a direct influence on the properties of these cements, which may affect the clinical outcome of the treatment.
