Vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly are the focus of emergency medical rescue during urban pluvial floods. Taking the Erqi District of Zhengzhou City as an example, the SCS-CN model and Chicago rainfall model are used to simulate pluvial flooding based on the comprehensive consideration of urban rainfall, runoff, topography, and drainage. Additionally, the accessibility of emergency medical aid for kindergartens and nursing homes is evaluated in the Erqi District of Zhengzhou under different pluvial flooding scenarios using GIS network analysis technology. The results showed that the number of kindergartens and nursing homes without timely access to emergency medical rescue increased with the increase in precipitation return periods. Under the 500-year and 1000-year pluvial flooding scenarios, kindergartens and nursing homes that can obtain emergency medical rescue had delayed response times. Furthermore, with the increase in the precipitation return periods, both the number and delay time of kindergartens and nursing homes significantly increased. The accessibility and delay time of emergency medical rescue in kindergartens and nursing homes were determined by the intensity of pluvial flooding (including inundation area and depth), road traffic conditions, and the number and location of medical institutions, nursing homes, and kindergartens. The research results can provide a scientific basis for improving the refinement level of urban flood disaster management and emergency response services.

Although insomnia has been shown to play an important role in psychological distress among gastrointestinal cancer patients, little is known about the internal mechanisms underlying this relation. Coping styles have been shown to moderate the effect of sleep on emotion, and this moderating effect may be age-dependent.The aim of this study was to test how age and coping styles moderate the role of insomnia on psychological distress among gastrointestinal cancer patients.This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with a convenience sample. A total of 352 patients with gastrointestinal cancer from two tertiary hospitals were recruited to participate in this study. The Kessler Psychological Distress Scale, the Insomnia Severity Index, and the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire were used to assess patients' psychological distress, insomnia, and coping styles, respectively. We performed hierarchical multiple regression and Johnson-Neyman statistical analysis to probe the moderating effect of coping styles and age.The mean age of the participants was 58.32 years. Nearly half of the participants reported psychological distress, and many reported insomnia. Insomnia was significantly positively associated with psychological distress. Coping styles and age moderated the relationship between insomnia and distress. Specifically, positive coping buffered the effect of insomnia on psychological distress only for subjects aged 34 years and younger; negative coping exacerbated the above relationship in patients aged 68 years and older while weakening the relationship in participants aged 51 years and younger.There are age differences in the moderating role of coping styles on the relationship between insomnia and distress among gastrointestinal cancer patients. This study provides preliminary evidence to inform tailored guidance on coping styles by age groups to attenuate the risk for psychological distress related to insomnia in the cancer population.

Triangular lattice is one most generic structure in two-dimensional (2D) limit with many exotic properties manifested, such as the magnetic frustration and quantum spin liquid. Here, we investigate the electronic properties of multi-orbital (px, py, pz) triangular lattice, focusing on the role of rotation and mirror symmetry breaking in regulating the topological phase diagram. Through tight-binding modeling, we reveal that rotation symmetry (C2z) breaking splits the Dirac point while the nodal-loop is preserved, and further inclusion of broken horizontal mirror symmetry (Mh) destroys the nodal-loop. Consequently, with spin-orbit coupling (SOC), (px, py, pz)-orbital triangular lattice is topologically non-trivial with only C2z or Mh symmetry breaking, and with both symmetries breaking, it becomes trivial, except when SOC is large enough to initiate band-inversion. For real materials, we propose that the recently grown AgSe/AgTe monolayer in a binary-honeycomb structure, is an ideal system to realize the multi-orbital triangular lattice. By first-principles calculations, we demonstrate that free-standing AgSe and AgTe are Z2 non-trivial; on Ag(111) substrate, AgSe becomes trivial due to the breaking of both C2z and Mh symmetries, while AgTe remains non-trivial thanks to the strong SOC of Te. Our work not only provides physical insights into the experimentally synthesized 2D binary-honeycomb structures, but also sheds light on manipulating the electronic and topological properties through symmetry/orbital physics, valuable for designing new quantum materials and devices.

With the development of history, some folk dances are annihilated and lost in the inheritance. In order to protect and inherit national intangible cultural heritage and promote the construction of advanced socialist culture, this paper uses information fusion technology, combines national aesthetic personality, and refers to multi-factor theory, construction theory, and distillation theory to design and reform the art practice model of folk dance education. The data of dancers’ skeletal joint points are collected by using multiple Kinect sensors, and the Kalman filter algorithm is selected to establish the human skeletal motion model and fuse the data information of each joint point. Taking the hand_right and elbow_right joints as examples, it was found that the mean value of the error between the testers’ joint trajectory and the template movement was reduced from 10mm to 4mm, and the mean value of the error between the joint angle and the template movement was reduced from 90° to 35°. Comparing the dance movement training effects and scores of the experimental group and the control group, it was found that the experimental group kicked the front and side legs an average of 70 times/minute, the middle jump height was improved by 10cm, and the average score was 3.33 points higher. This indicates that the integration of information fusion technology in the art practice of dance education can realize the practical innovation of college folk dance education and improve the comprehensive level of folk dance.

The interaction between zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and whey protein (WP) was studied. The gastric epithelial cell line (GES-1) was used to evaluate the toxicity intensity of ZnO NPs. The interaction mechanism of ZnO NPs and WP was studied by spectroscopic techniques. The results showed that the inhibitory effect of ZnO NPs on cells activity could be reduced when added to ZnO NPs at a concentration of 50 µg/ml. The fluorescence quenching mechanism of ZnO NPs on WP is a combination of dynamic and static quenching. The interaction force between ZnO NPs and WP can be considered as H-bond and VdW force, and they have two binding sites. The interaction between WP and ZnO NPs leads to the loosening of the structural skeleton of WP and the extension of peptide chain, which exposes the tyrosine (Tyr) and tryptophan (Trp) hydrophobic groups in the hydrophobic region of protein molecules and reduces the hydrophobicity of the microenvironment. The ZnO NPs might form a complex with WP through H-bond, hydrophobic interactions, and so on, leading to peptide chain rearrangement, and finally causing changes in the secondary structure of α-helix. Practical Application This study provides a theoretical basis for future research on the interaction between food ingredients and nanomaterials, the evaluation of toxicity of nanomaterials and the application scope of nanomaterials in food field.

In this paper, tetraethyl orthosilicate and anhydrous ethanol were used as raw materials, and hexane was used for solvent replacement of the gel. Surface modification of three methyl silane (TMCS) was carried out, and SiO2aerogels were prepared by sol-gel process and atmospheric drying process. The effect of TMCS and the calcination temperature on the properties of the SiO2gel were studied. The physicochemical properties of aerogels were characterized by field emission electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), X ray diffraction (XRD), infrared analysis (FT-IR) and specific surface area (BET). The results show that the material is composed of round nanoparticles with a diameter of less than 20 nm. EDX analysis shows that the material is composed of Si and O elements. The XRD spectrum shows no obvious characteristic diffraction peak when SiO2aerogels calcinated at 500 °C and 900 °C, which indicates that the phase group of the material is disordered amorphous SiO2; when calcinated at 1100 °C, it occure SiO2crystal. After 10 hours of modification with 20% TMCS/hexane solution, the SiO2aerogels had a larger specific area. The BET of the modified aerogel is about 930 m2/g.

Periosteum is crucial to the initial healing of bone defects because it provides a stable periosteum-specific microenvironment and abundant osteogenic cells towards bone repair. However, the usage of autologous periosteum is restricted for limited availability. Xenogeneic decellularized periosteum (DP) preserves periosteum-specific cues but the hardly-controlled physicochemical properties render it inconvenient to use widely. Our study aimed to fabricate a tissue-engineered periosteum (TEP) with a continuous periosteum-specifically bioactive surface and tailored physicochemical properties by co-axial electrospinning of poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL)/periosteal decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) to promote bone defects healing. Before use, DP was confirmed for effective removal of residual DNA and well preservation of biological components, e.g., collagen and glycosaminoglycans. After optimization of fabrication processes, PCL/dECM co-axially electrospun membrane (PEC) bore an exquisite core-shell structure, which was effectively equipped with composite advantages of dECM and PCL. Notably, PEC stood out in terms of tensile strength and long-term durability within a physiological environment compared to that of the dECM uniaxial electrospun membrane (ECM). Besides, PEC exhibited remarkably better cell proliferation, migration, bio-mineralization, and osteogenic properties as compared to that of the electrospun PCL membrane. Moreover, PEC-TEP could significantly enhance the recovery of critical-sized bone defects in rats than that of PCL-TEP. To the best of our knowledge, biomimetic PEC-TEP was fabricated and used for the first time to repair bone defects. This novel strategy is promising to fabricate a dECM-based advanced membrane for tissue engineering.

Decreasing the mutual coupling between multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna elements requires the selection of an appropriate decoupling technique without changing the geometry or operating frequency of the antenna. In this paper, a simple and flexible approach that involves loading a small ferrite film on the radiation patch of an MIMO antenna pair has been proposed to mitigate the unwanted mutual coupling. Through a thorough investigation, the two IFA elements with an element distance of only 1.4 mm can be decoupled adequately by properly controlling the ferrite-film loading area and the thickness of the ferrite film, along with maintaining the desired operating frequencies and acceptable radiation characteristics at the LTE Band 42 (3.4–3.6 GHz). The optimum ferrite-film loading on the grounding branch of the IFA element can increase the isolation from −6.64 dB to −10.43 dB and enhance the bandwidth from 3.20–3.88 GHz to 2.83–3.65 GHz, and its efficiency can reach to 45.5%, as well as a 2 dB gain. A physical model has also been established to interpret the operating mechanism of ferrite-film loading on the IFAs. The proposed simulated procedure is validated via measurements. This technique of ferrite loading on MIMO antennas can effectively decouple the mutual coupling at a low cost and with low design complexity, indicating its potential applicability for use in MIMO antennas in mobile handsets.

Magnetic skyrmions, with topologically protected particle-like magnetization configurations, are promising information carriers for future spintronics devices with ultralow energy consumption. Generally, during motion, skyrmions suffer from the skyrmion Hall effect (SkHE) wherein the skyrmions deflect away from the intended path of the driving force. Numerous methods have been proposed to avoid this detrimental effect. In this study, we propose controllable alternating current (AC)-driven skyrmion propagation in a ferromagnetic nanowire based on the combination of gate-voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) and SkHE. Micromagnetic simulations showed that a skyrmion oscillatory closed-loop-like in-situ motion that is driven by AC can be transformed into directional ratchet-like propagation along the nanotrack by creating a VCMA gates barrier. Additionally, we show that the skyrmion propagation conditions depend on the gate barrier potential and driving AC parameters, and they can be used for the optimal design of nanotrack devices. Moreover, this mechanism could be used to control skyrmion macroscopic propagation directions by dynamically alternating the voltage of another series of gates. We further show the dynamic control of the long-distance propagation of skyrmions along with the pinning state. The study results provide a promising route for designing future skyrmion-based spintronics logical and memory devices.

Aim. This study aimed to quantitatively compare the effects of perceived social support, resilience, and task load on occupational burnout and flow at work in male nurses, as well as the complex relationships among these variables. Background. Male nurses play a vital role in the healthcare system. However, little is known about the key factors that may improve the work experience of male nurses. Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted from June to December 2021. A convenience sample of 356 male nurses completed measures of general information, burnout, flow at work, perceived social support, resilience, and task load. Dominance analysis and network analysis were used to explore the associations between the variables studied. Results. Among the variables studied, perceived social support most strongly predicted burnout, while perceived social support and resilience had equal predictive weights in flow at work. The network analysis found that resilience was the bridge indicator with the strongest connections to other variables. Conclusion. The interventions focused on the perceived social support and resilience of male nurses could help improve their work experience. Implications for Nursing Management. Nursing administrators should give male nurses more support and understanding to reduce burnout at work. At the same time, administrators can conduct psychological lectures to improve male nurses’ resilience, thereby increasing their flow at work. Providing challenging tasks that match male nurses’ skills could also help improve their work experience.

Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (CIRP) is a stress-response protein that is expressed in various types of cells and acts as an RNA chaperone, modifying the stability of its targeted mRNA. Intracellular CIRP could also be released into extracellular space and once released, extracellular CIRP (eCIRP) acts as a damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) to induce and amplify inflammation. Recent studies have found that eCIRP could promote acute lung injury (ALI) via activation of macrophages, neutrophils, pneumocytes and lung vascular endothelial cells in context of sepsis, haemorrhagic shock, intestinal ischemia/reperfusion injury and severe acute pancreatitis. In addition, CIRP is also highly expressed in the bronchial epithelial cells and its expression is upregulated in the bronchial epithelial cells of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) and rat models with chronic bronchitis. CIRP is a key contributing factor in the cold-induced exacerbation of COPD by promoting the expression of inflammatory genes and hypersecretion of airway mucus in the bronchial epithelial cells. Besides, CIRP is also involved in regulating pulmonary fibrosis, as eCIRP could directly activate and induce an inflammatory phenotype in pulmonary fibroblast. This review summarizes the findings of CIRP investigation in respiratory diseases and the underlying molecular mechanisms.

The evaluation of emergency response capability under different pluvial flooding scenarios is an essential approach to improve the emergency response capability of flood disasters. A new evaluation method of emergency response capacity of urban public services is proposed based on urban pluvial flooding scenario simulation. Firstly, inundation area and depth under different pluvial flooding scenarios are simulated based on the SCS-CN model. Following that, space densities of all indicators include inundation area and depth, road network and the emergency public service institutions. Then, the indicator weight is determined by the combined weighting method of entropy weight and coefficient of variation. Finally, the emergency response capacity index (of each pixel) is calculated based on the graph stacking method. Taking Erqi District, Zhengzhou City as an example, the emergency response capacity of public service under different urban flooding scenarios is evaluated. The results show that the spatial distribution difference of public service emergency response capacity in Erqi District, Zhengzhou City is obvious, and with the increase of the precipitation return period, the high value area of public service emergency response capability decreases gradually and the low value area increases gradually. This method takes into account the specific urban flooding scenario and the layout of public service institutions and road networks that have strong practicability. the results of the evaluation can provide a reference for the construction of urban flood emergency response capacity and provide support for emergency decision-making.

The patients were randomly divided into a treatment group and control group, and both groups were given standard pharmaceuticals after PCI and the Wenyang Huoxue recipe. The treatment group was additionally treated with the Eight Trigrams Boxing Method. The control group was provided with aerobic rehabilitation exercise. The maximum oxygen uptake (VO2max), metabolic equivalent (MET), the results of a 6-min walking test, the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) score, SF-36 score, and other indicators were evaluated before and after treatment. The therapeutic effect was evaluated by comparison between the groups and within the groups.Results: The VO2max, MET, 6-min walking distance, SAQ score, and SF-36 score in both groups improved after treatment compared with before treatment. There was no difference between the two groups before treatment. However, after treatment, the VO2max, MET, 6 min walking distance, SAQ score, and SF-36 score in the treatment group were higher compared with the control group.Conclusion: A traditional Chinese medicine cardiac rehabilitation program of Eight Trigrams Boxing combined with a Wenyang Huoxue recipe can improve the cardiopulmonary function and quality of life of patients. Objectives To investigate the outcome and short-term follow-up of autogenous tooth shell (TS) grafting for bone augmentation in the esthetic zone, as well as stability and esthetics of implant-supported restoration. Materials and methods A total of 8 patients with 11 implants in 11 sites were enrolled in this study. All the horizontal and/or vertical bone defects in the esthetic zone were augmented by tooth shells, which were fixed laterally to the residual bone with osteosynthesis screws. The gap between the shell and residual bone was filled with Bio-Oss® granules. Four months after bone augmentation, dimensionally sufficient dental implants were inserted and implants-supported prostheses were made 3 months later. The esthetic outcome was evaluated by pink esthetic score (PES) and white esthetic score (WES) one year after prosthetic restoration. Horizontal ridge width (HRW) was assessed before and immediately after bone augmentation, as well as 4 and 19 months post-augmentation by radiography. The stability and absorption of TS grafts were evaluated at the 4th and 19th months post-augmentation. Results Though wound dehiscences occurred in 3 cases, secondary healings were obtained after TS modification and irrigation. The other 5 cases went through uneventful healing during the whole observation period. Radiographic examination showed that HRW was 8.01 ± 0.93 mm (median: 7.80, 95% CI 7.38, 8.64) 4 months after TS augmentation, which was statistically different compared to HRW (2.72 ± 1.73 mm) at the baseline. Mean HRW gain was 5.29 ± 2.03 mm (median: 4.60, 95% CI 3.92, 6.66). Three-dimensional bone volume in all the augmented sites was sufficient for dental implants insertion and prosthetic restoration. Follow-up of one year showed stable marginal bone around dental implants. The implant survival rate was 100%. HRW losses were 0.65 ± 0.43 mm (the 4th month) and 1.05 ± 0.54 mm (the 19th month) compared to HRW immediately after augmentation. The PES and WES of final prosthetic restorations were 8.09 ± 0.70 and 8.91 ± 0.54, respectively. Conclusions Autogenous tooth shell grafting is a reliable approach for bone augmentation in the esthetic zone for dental implant treatment, allowing for favorable stability and esthetic outcome of implant-supported prosthesis within the one-year follow-up period.

Purpose The present study aimed to investigate whether the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs1801552 C/T in CDH1 gene is correlated with the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and gastric cardiac adenocarcinoma (GCA), as a preliminary study. Methods The rs1801552 C/T polymorphism was genotyped by the method of polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in 1316 cancer patients (810 ESCC and 506 GCA) and 1966 controls in north China. We performed two case-control studies, each of which included a population-based set and a hospital-based set. Results The data showed that the rs1801552 C/T polymorphism was associated with the risk of ESCC. Allelotype and genotype distributions of the rs1801552 C/T polymorphism in ESCC patients of high-incidence region and hospital were significantly different from that in their respective controls (P 0.05). Conclusions The findings in the present pilot study suggest that the rs1801552 C/T polymorphism was associated with the risk of ESCC, but was not associated with the risk of GCA in high-incidence region and hospital.

Objective Many studies have focused on the severity and prevalence of menopausal symptoms among middle-aged women, which are limited by heterogeneity and diversity of subtypes. Subtyping facilitates the adaptation to prevention and clinical intervention strategies that target women. To determine the existence of significant subgroups of women with similar menopausal symptoms, a person-centered approach was used to identify potential profiles of women during the menopausal transition. In addition, we aimed to examine the association between latent subtypes and individual factors. Methods This cross-sectional study included 797 middle-aged women, aged 40 to 60 years, who were recruited from Shandong Province, China, between December 2017 and August 2018. We identified the subtypes in menopausal symptoms by performing a latent class analysis according to the self-reported Menopause Rating Scale and evaluated the robustness of our identified subtypes using a sensitivity analysis. Multinomial logistic regression was performed to explore the association between emergent latent subtypes and sociodemographic, clinical, and psychosocial characteristics. Results The mean age of participants was 49.83 ± 5.05 years. (1) Four potential classes were identified in middle-aged women: "severe symptoms" (14.9%), "dominant sleep-emotion symptoms" (31.4%), "physical/mental exhaustion symptoms" (32.5%), and "no symptoms" (21.2%). The four classes were also verified using a sensitivity analysis according to age and menopause status subgroups, which revealed the robust subtypes of menopausal symptoms. (2) The odds ratio of neuroticism, chronic diseases, and gynecological diseases were significantly higher for the "severe symptoms," "dominant sleep-emotion symptoms," and "physical/mental exhaustion symptoms" classes, compared to the "no symptoms" class, while the odds ratio of mindfulness and social support were lower. Conclusions A person-centered approach for middle-aged women could address the unmet need to understand the heterogeneity of menopausal symptoms. Subtyping facilitates the identification of the potential causes of menopausal symptoms and the development of personalized interventions. Video Summary:http://links.lww.com/MENO/A830.

We uncover the structure, stability, and electronic properties of polaronic defects in monolayer (ML) CeO

Sepsis is a global disease burden, and approximately 40% of cases develop acute lung injury (ALI). Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSCs) and their exosomes are widely used in treating a variety of diseases including sepsis. As an acute phase protein, serum amyloid A1 (SAA1) regulates inflammation and immunity. However, the role of SAA1 in BMSCs-exosomes in septic lung injury remains to be elucidated. Exosomes derived from serum and BMSCs were isolated by ultracentrifugation. SAA1 was silenced or overexpressed in mouse BMSCs using lentiviral plasmids, containing either SAA1-targeting short interfering RNAs or SAA1 cDNA. Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). LPS was used to induce ALI in mice. Mouse alveolar macrophages were isolated by flow cytometry. Levels of SAA1, endotoxin, TNF-α, and IL-6 were measured using commercial kits. LPS internalization was monitored by immunostaining. RT-qPCR or immunoblots were performed to test gene and protein expressions. Serum exosomes of patients with sepsis-induced lung injury had significantly higher levels of SAA1, endotoxin, TNF-α, and IL-6. Overexpression of SAA1 in BMSCs inhibited CLP- or LPS-induced lung injury and decreased CLP- or LPS-induced endotoxin, TNF-α, and IL-6 levels. Administration of the SAA1 blocking peptide was found to partially inhibit SAA1-induced LPS internalization by mouse alveolar macrophages and reverse the protective effect of SAA1. In conclusion, BMSCs inhibit sepsis-induced lung injury through exosomal SAA1. These results highlight the importance of BMSCs, exosomes, and SAA1, which may provide novel directions for the treatment of septic lung injury.
