Recent research on supercapacitors (SCs) has been attractive due to the potential application in a variety of fields related to energy storage. Electrode materials play a very important role for the performance of SCs and various metal nanoparticles are involved in the SC electrodes. In this paper, the roles of metal nanoparticles for SCs are reviewed and discussed. They can serve as a dopant to modify the surface of electrode materials, or be embedded in a composite to effectively reduce the resistance and lead to an enhanced specific capacitance. Some metal nanoparticles can be also employed as electrode materials directly, but easily being oxidized. Metallic nanoparticles can even act as current collectors, especially for these noble metals with excellent stability and high conductivity. Nanoporous metals prepared by dealloying and electrochemical method can be used as both pseudocapacitive materials and current collector of SCs. Some important experimental data on this issue are summarized. A brief discussion on the future directions, challenges and opportunities in this topic is also provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gallium‐based liquid metal, eutectic gallium–indium alloy (EGaIn), is becoming a leading innovation in soft electronic devices due to its exceptional electronic conductivity and deformability. However, the formation of insulating oxide films on EGaIn surfaces poses a significant impediment to translating electrochemical reactions, thereby limiting its use as an electrochemical biosensor. Here, functionalized EGaIn electrodes with reduced‐graphene‐oxide assembled EGaIn core–shell particles (REGs) for soft and deformable electrochemical biosensors are presented. Exploiting EGaIn's capability as a reducing agent, REGs can undergo further modification with metal nanoparticles through additional galvanic replacement reactions. The REGs and metal‐coated REGs (M‐REGs) provide strong interfacial adhesion with the EGaIn current collector, exhibiting no exfoliation during and after the mechanical deformation. Moreover, RIDE and metal‐decorated RIDE (M‐RIDE) show excellent electrochemical sensing performances by taking advantage of the facile surface tunability of REGs, allowing simultaneous detection of ascorbic acid, dopamine, and uric acid, and enzymatic detection of glucose. Modified composites, blends, polymers and copolymers are some of those engineered materials which are playing a major and remarkable role in achieving our present sustainable environment. Mechanical, electrical, and biological properties of carbon and native metal nanoparticles are distinctive from others and provide plentiful scaffolds for a wide-range of applications in our lives, including medical devices, pharmaceutical, polymer industry, biomedical field, coating of kitchen appliances, food packaging, clothing, gifts, optical devices, biosensors, antimicrobial objects etc. Distinct chemical and physical properties of silver and carbon-based NPs are considered to act in this way. The antimicrobial and conducting nature of Gr and AgNPs are studied here. There is a vast history of these properties; however, beginners still have a bright future. The antimicrobial activity of these two incorporates antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anticancer, antioxidant, antistatic and antibiotic nature. Additionally, both nanomaterials exhibit notable thermal conductivity. Based on these characteristics novel composite/blend materials with enhanced electrical, thermal, antimicrobial, antistatic, and antibiotic effect can be engineered with innovative ideas. Doping transition metals in ZnO nanoparticles play a vital role in enhancing its photocatalytic activity. (Co,Ni) co-doped ZnO nanoparticles have been synthesized via sol–gel combustion method and explored the impact of co-doping on the structural, optical, morphological and photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanoparticles. The XRD pattern elucidated hexagonal wurtzite structure. The incorporation of co-dopants led to red-shift in the energy band gap. Photoluminescence spectral analysis showed the existence of different defects in the lattice on variation of energization. The assessment for photocatalytic activity was carried out by evaluating the degradation of methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB) dyes under sunlight irradiation. Among the photocatalysts, 3%Co–3%Ni showed excellent photocatalytic activity within 75 min. This is in accordance with the decrement in crystallite size, red-shift of band gap, introduction of electron trap levels by the dopants and presence of defects such as oxygen vacancies. Additionally, the calculated CIE co-ordinates of the sample lies in the white region (0.32, 0.32) of CIE diagram and computed CCT were above 5000 K establishing its application in cold white light. Supported catalyst synthesis involves pretreatment (drying, reduction) of metal complexes to form metal nanoparticles. This study has been undertaken to explore the effect of reduction temperature, heating rate, and water partial pressure on final particle size of Pt and Pd supported on a total of four carbon and oxide supports. Supported nanoparticles were synthesized by strong electrostatic adsorption (SEA) and dry impregnation (DI); the former method was hypothesized to yield greater nanoparticle stability in thermochemical reducing environments stemming from the strong interaction of the precursor with the support during impregnation. Reduced samples were characterized by in-situ and ex-situ XRD and STEM. The DI-derived samples generally showed an expected increase of particle size with increased reduction temperature, and severe particle coalescence in humid hydrogen, while the SEA-derived samples did not sinter at the elevated reduction temperatures (up to 500 °C) and were remarkably stable in the humid reducing environment. The nano size Cu-Zn ferrite particles substituted to Mg2+ and La3+ having general chemical formula MgxCu0.3Zn0.7-xLayFe2-yO4 (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5; and y = 0.0, 0.025, 0.050, 0.075, 0.10) prepared through sol-gel method. The prepared mixed metal oxide nanoparticles were characterized employing techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) analyses. The prepared MgxCu0.3Zn0.7-xLayFe2-yO4 magnetic nanoparticles were used as a efficient, recoverable and heterogeneous catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of quinoxalines 3(a–g) and 1,5-benzodiazepines 5(a–h) under mild reaction conditions in good yields. The recyclability of catalyst was tested for five times without significant decrease in the catalytic activity. Catalyst has been used for the synthesis of different derivatives of quinoxalines in short time (20 to 30 min) with 90 -97% yield. Nanoparticle drug delivery systems are precisely designed technologies that utilize nanoparticles to deliver therapeutic drugs to specific targets and regulate their release. In recent times, nanoparticles have garnered significant interest owing to their potential for efficient drug delivery. This work is aimed at synthesizing Fe(II) and Cu(II) nano-sized complexes of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) using the sonication method. The physical and spectroscopic studies showed a colour change from white to grey, and a decrease in melting points suggested the formation of the metal complexes. The nanometal complexes were insoluble in water. XRD analysis showed that the crystallite sizes of Fe(II) and Cu(II) nanometal complexes were determined to be 76.08 nm and 37.13 nm, respectively, using the Debye-Scherrer equation. The FTIR results of the SMX, Fe(II), and Cu(II) nanometal complexes showed a shift of the amine band from 3243 to 3191 cm−1 and the sulfone band from 1154 to 1092 cm−1 in both complexes. The proton NMR showed a shift of the amine proton from 6.100 ppm to 6.035 ppm in the spectra of the Cu(II) complex. The amine chemical shift was absent in the spectra of the Fe(II) complex, showing deprotonation. The carbon-13 NMR spectra showed a similar chemical shift. The spectra studies indicated that SMX coordinated with the metal ions through the amino and sulfone groups. A tetrahedral structure was proposed for the complexes. This work aimed to develop antifouling coatings for maritime structures and sailing vessels by the integration of nanoparticles as very effective biocidal agents. The paint compositions were created by combining several components with a binder known as linseed alkyd resin. The preparation of TiO2 and SiO2 nanoparticles was conducted by the ball milling technique, followed by their application as pigments in nano paints. The corrosion characteristics of these coatings were examined after the incorporation of the nano paint, to diminish fouling and enhance antibacterial efficacy on maritime vessels. The enhancement of antifouling paint efficacy is expected to be substantial as a result of the advancement in nanoparticle-based compositions that exhibit biocidal capabilities. To evaluate the efficacy of nanocoatings, miniature specimens were submerged in a marine environment for 120 days. The coated samples underwent analysis by various techniques including scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, an assessment was conducted to determine the efficacy of the protective characteristics exhibited by the coated tiny mild-steel samples. This evaluation involved subjecting the samples to a 120-day immersion in the ocean environment. The inclusion of SiO2 and TiO2 nanoparticles in the paints yields significant corrosion protection for the coated samples, in contrast to those lacking nanoparticles. Herein we report an electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) by using cobalt-based zeolite imidazolate framework (ZIF67) as a synthesized precursor, along with its composites using Ni and Se nanoparticles. The morphology and structure of the samples were studied by using FESEM analysis, XRD diffraction method, IR spectra, and BET analysis. The final composite with Ni and Se doped ZIF 67 shows an over potential of 114 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2 and a Tafel slope of 46 mV dec-1 compared to that of commercial Pt/C catalyst. The metal-metal interaction on the ZIF 67 frame work were found to serve as an active site. The co-doping producing a synergetic effect helps in enhancing the activity of the optimized catalyst. Nanomaterials usually have specific characteristics due to their incredibly tiny size, which also increases their surface area, providing a more interactive surface. Compared to their macro-sized counterparts, these tiny nanoparticles exhibit a multitude of size-dependent properties. Plant tissue culture (PTC) plays an important role in bioactive chemical synthesis, mass cultivation, protection, genetic control, and plant enhancement. Different nanoparticles (NPs) are utilized to improve the tissue culture responses of explants. Various nanoparticles, including cobalt, copper, silver, gold, zinc, selenium, titanium, iron, palladium, cerium, indium, manganese, aluminum, barium, silicon, nickel, zirconium, and their oxides, are used in this regard. Nowadays, it is critical to use nanosystems in conjunction with PTC for mass reproduction, conservation, genetic engineering, crop enhancement, and the synthesis of bioactive compounds. Nanostructured metal oxides play an important role in in vitro plant cultivation. The use of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) has successfully removed microbial contaminants from explants and had a favorable impact on organogenesis (increasing the growth of shoots, roots, and multiplication ratios), callus induction, metabolic changes, and the synthesis of secondary metabolites (NPs are used as elicitors or stress agents). Additionally, NPs cause somaclonal variation (modifications to DNA), improve cryopreservation (increasing the survival rate), and enhance genetic transformation (facilitating gene transformation to bypass the plant cell wall barrier and accelerating protoplast isolation). Compared with other methods, the synthesis of metal nanoparticles by metal ion reduction using plant extracts as raw materials has the advantages of low cost, simple synthesis and environmental friendliness, and has garnered significant attention. To achieve this effect, in the form of green synthetic nano silver (AgNP), we mixed AgNO3 with attapulgite (ATP) and stirred it with clove plant extract at 80 °C. By changing the dosage of clove extract, a series of new samples were prepared by the same method. The shape and size of the synthesized silver nanoparticles on catalysts were visualized by transmission electron microscope (TEM) observations. The particle size of the optimally prepared nanoparticles ranges from 1 to 9 nm with spherical or roughly spherical forms. The inductively coupled plasma (ICP) results further demonstrated the reducing effect of clove extract on Ag. Increasing the amount of clove extract could promote the formation and loading of Ag on ATP. An outstanding catalytic performance of Ag/ATP under HCHO outperformed that synthesized without clove extract. With the addition of clove extract, the catalytic performance was enhanced by more than 40% compared to no addition. Among different nanoparticles, the catalytic oxidation activity of HCHO was best when the volume ratio of clove extract to Ag was 10:1. TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) doped with W (W:TiO2), double-doped with W and V (W&V:TiO2), and loaded with noble metals (W:TiO2 @Pt/Pd/Ag and W&V:TiO2@Pt/Pd/Ag) were synthesized by laser pyrolysis followed by chemical impregnation and reduction. Due to its exceptional properties, TiO2 is considered a key material being used in a wide range of applications. To improve its detection activity, the increase in the specific surface of the material, and the presence of defects in its structure play a decisive role. Doped and double-doped TiO2 nanoparticles with dimensions in the range of 25–30 nm presented a mixture of phases corresponding to titania, with the anatase phase accounting for the majority (95%). By loading these nanoparticles with small particles of noble metals, a significant increase in the specific surface area by three or even five times the original values was achieved. Sensitive thin films for surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors were made with the NPs, embedded in polyethyleneimine (PEI) polymer and deposited by spin-coating. Each sensor was tested at CH4 concentrations between 0.4 and 2%, at room temperature, and the best results were obtained by the sensor with NPs doped with V and decorated with Pd, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 17 ppm, due to the strong catalytic effect of Pd. The unresolved challenges in the development of highly efficient, stable and controlled synthetic microbial consortia, as well as the use of natural consortia, are very attractive for science and technology. However, the consortia management should be done with the knowledge of how not only to accelerate but also stop the action of such "little pots". Moreover, there are a lot of microbial consortia, the activity of which should be suppressively controlled. The processes, catalyzed by various microorganisms being in complex consortia which should be slowed down or completely cancelled, are typical for the environment (biocorrosion, landfill gas accumulation, biodegradation of building materials, water sources deterioration etc.), industry (food and biotechnological production), medical practice (vaginitis, cystitis, intestinal dysbiosis, etc.). The search for ways to suppress the functioning of heterogeneous consortia in each of these areas is relevant. The purpose of this review is to summarize the general trends in these studies regarding the targets and new means of influence used. The analysis of the features of the applied approaches to solving the main problem confirms the possibility of obtaining a combined effect, as well as selective influence on individual components of the consortia. Recently, innovative developments have been made in the rapidly developing field of nanotechnology. However, toxicity due to long-term exposure to various types of metal-based nanoparticles, especially metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, is gradually increasing. The kidney is prone to toxin-induced impairment because it is one of the main organs for eliminating multiple potentially dangerous substances, including nanoparticles (NPs), from mammals. However, the mechanisms underlying cytotoxicity triggered by various NPs have not yet been reported. This review summarizes the various mechanisms involved in metal-based nanoparticle-induced nephrotoxicity, focusing on Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) production, which leads to oxidative stress and apoptosis. The catalytic activity of metal nanoparticles is closely pertinent to the substrate, while the influence of the support on the catalytic activity is acquainted scarcely. Herein, the edge selective decoration of noble metal nanoparticles into an edge‐rich carbon foam (CF) matrix for efficient pH‐universal hydrogen evolution (HER) reaction is reported. The highly localized density of states of the graphene edges enables increased reactivity to noble metal nanoparticles and tunes their electronic states. As expected, the Pt nanoparticles decorated on CF (Pt NPs@CF) exhibit low overpotentials (η10) of only 35, 49, and 53 mV under acidic, alkaline, and neutral conditions, respectively. Moreover, it can deliver the ampere‐level current density of 1000 mA cm−2 with an overpotential of 97 mV in acidic solutions. Above all, the other noble metal NPs decorated on CF also possess efficient pH‐universal HER performance. Metal azides are highly energetic materials that release a large amount of gas upon detonation. They also release metal particles, generating an aerosol. The most common azide is sodium azide (NaN3), which is used nowadays in car airbags. If the decomposition is not complete, harmful azide particles might be inhaled. Heavy metal azides find application as a primary explosive (primer) in ammunition. Public health officials have raised concerns about heavy metal particles released during training in shooting ranges. We identify a lack of knowledge on airborne metal particles properties released from azide detonation and on the analytical methods applied to characterize them. As a case study, we detonated milligram amounts of silver azide, copper azide, and a mixture of them in a glove box. We then analyse the airborne particles with an ensemble analytical setup, able to measure real-time their particle size distribution and chemical composition. We detected spherical metal nanoparticles in the range of 2–500 nm. These findings and the developed analytical tools may allow identifying airborne nanoparticles the passenger compartments of vehicles after airbag activation as well as in indoor shooting ranges, contributing to the evaluation of public health risks. Polyurethane (PU) belongs to a unique class of polymers. Different properties of PU such as mechanical strength and biocompatibility can be enhanced by co-polymerizing it with different bio and synthetic polymers. It finds huge applications as micro-reactors for the fabrication of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) owing to the synergistic properties of both polyurethane and fabricated metal nanoparticles. Metal nanoparticles fabricated polyurethane have gained much attention in the last few years. These types of nanocomposites hyphenate the mechanical properties of polyurethane with the high surface-to-volume ratio of metal nanoparticles. Here, this review article briefly evaluates different methods of synthesis of polyurethane-based metal nanocomposites and their characterization via different techniques to evaluate their properties. Applications of these polyurethane based nanocomposite materials have also been described critically in different fields depending upon their catalytic, antimicrobial and antifungal potential. Future directions of these nanocomposite materials have also been described in the field of designing of nano-filters and nano-devices in order to attain environmental remediation and sustainability. The preparation of two‐dimensional (2D) materials often requires complicated exfoliation procedures having low yields. The exfoliated nanosheets are prone to thermal aggregation and unsuitable for thermocatalysis. Herein, a scalable approach produces 2D catalyst precursors well‐distributed and mixed at the nanoscale. Using continuous microfluidization and single‐layer layered double hydroxide (LDH) synthesis, the prepared suspension contained exfoliated hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) nanosheets and single‐layer LDHs. The increased contact area between h‐BN and LDHs enables the formation of highly dispersed MnCoAl mixed metal oxide nanoparticles anchored on h‐BN nanosheets after calcination. In the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 (NH3‐SCR, a representative thermocatalytic application), this nanocomposite demonstrates a record turnover frequency of 0.772 h−1 among reported Mn‐based NH3‐SCR catalysts, with high NOx conversion and high N2 selectivity at low temperatures. Emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) stands out as an extraction process that has drawn much attention due to its promising prospects in industrial wastewater treatment technology. Nevertheless, the pivotal challenge is to reach high membrane stability to overcome the obstacle of applying ELM at the industrial scale. In this study, ELM was boosted by using nanoparticles (superparamagnetic iron oxide (Fe2O3)) in the stripping phase (W1) and ionic liquid (1-methyl-3-octyl-imidazolium-hexafluorophosphate [OMIM][PF6) in the oil phase (O) for recovering/extracting vanadium from synthetic wastewater to near completion and at the same time enhancing emulsion stability to be appropriate for industrial application. The vanadium recovery/extraction percentage has been raised significantly in 3 min to 99.6% when adding 0.01% (w/w) Fe2O3 NPs (20 to 50 nm in size) in the internal phase (W1) and 5% (v/v) [OMIM]PF6 ionic liquid in the oil phase (O). Also, the emulsion stability was considerably improved, and the leakage percentage was reduced to 16% after 3 days. Herein we report the catalytic ethanol decomposition over cobalt catalyst synthesized using conventional solution combustion synthesis (SCS). The reaction pathway proposed in-situ DRIFT analysis shows that the decomposition reaction proceeds through the formation of surface ethoxy intermediates that transformed into acetates and aldehydes which further decompose to releases CH 4 , H 2 and CO 2 with some deposition of carbon on the catalyst surface. The catalytic reaction shows 100 % ethanol conversion at 420 °C, with high selectivity of H 2 in the output. The structural transformation of the catalyst and deposited carbon was analyzed using high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). Presence of small Co nanoparticles (size <30 nm) surrounded with graphene and larger metal nanoparticles trapped inside MWCNTs was visible during a stability run over 50 h that motivates in proposing the reaction mechanism of the fluctuating metal nanoparticle along with carbon on the catalyst surface. MOFs are known for their absorption properties and widely used for accumulation, filtering, sensorics, photothermal, catalytical and other applications. Their combination with plasmonic metal nanoparticles leads to hybrid structures that profit from the stabilizing effect and high porosity of the MOF as well as the optical and electronic properties of the nanoparticles. The growth of MOFs on plasmonic nanoparticles can be monitored in‐situ using LSPR spectroscopy, simultaneously applying microfluidic reaction conditions for the fabrication of NP@MOF structures. Here, a systematic study is conducted using LSPR spectroscopy for the monitoring of the Layer‐by‐Layer deposition of twelve different MOFs, determining the suitability of LSPR spectroscopy for this purpose. In addition to some well‐investigated materials like HKUST‐1, other MOFs such as MIL‐53, MIL‐88 A and Cu‐BDC are deposited successfully. For some MOFs such as Zn‐Fum, the LSPR experiment indicates that no deposition had taken place. The results are confirmed with AFM, SEM and XPS measurements. This work shows that LSPR spectroscopy is suitable for the in‐situ monitoring of LbL MOF growth and the microfluidic setup is a very promising method for the controlled manufacturing of NP@MOF hybrid structures. Heterocycles are important compounds existed in diverse advanced chemicals, functional materials, bioactive molecules and natural products. Different strategies through transition metal‐catalyzed alkyne cyclization have been developed to synthesize various heterocycles. The merger of alkyne cyclization and metal nanoparticle catalysis has emerged as an important approach to diverse heterocycles. By using different kinds of metal nanoparticle catalysts, such as gold, silver, copper and palladium nanoparticles, a number of heterocycles are prepared with high yield and selectivity in a green, sustainable and highly efficient manner. The use of naturally sourced organic materials with chirality, such as the M13 bacteriophage, holds intriguing implications, especially in the field of nanotechnology. The chirality properties of bacteriophages have been demonstrated through numerous studies, particularly in the analysis of liquid crystal phase transitions, developing specific applications. However, exploring the utilization of the M13 bacteriophage as a template for creating chiral nanostructures for optics and sensor applications comes with significant challenges. In this study, the chirality of the M13 bacteriophage was leveraged as a valuable tool for generating helical hybrid structures by combining it with nanoparticles through an evaporation-induced three-dimensional (3D) printing process. In this study, nickel metal nanoparticles and a three-dimensional nitrogen-doped carbon matrix were used to embellish the nickel oxide composite NiO–Ni/N–C via simplified hard templating. When a porous nitrogen-doped carbon matrix is present, a rapid pathway would be established for charging and discharging the electrons and lithium ions in a lithium-ion battery, thereby alleviating the volumetric expansion of the NiO nanoparticles during the operation of the battery. Moreover, the Ni0 ions added to serve as active sites to improve the capacity of the NiO-based electrodes and strengthen their conductivities. The multielement-effects of the optimal NiO–Ni/N–C electrode leads it to exhibit a capacity of 1310.8 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 for 120 loops and a rate capability of 441.5 mAh g-1 at 20.0 A g-1. Kinetic analysis of the prepared electrodes proved their ultrafast ionic and electronic conductivities. This strategy of hard templating reduces the number of routes required for preparing different types of electrodes, including NiO-based electrodes, and improves their electrochemical performance to enable their use in energy storage applications. To respond to the increasing demands for practical applications, stabilization and property modulation of metal nanoparticles have emerged as a key research subject. Herein, we present a viable protocol for preparing small metal nanoparticles (<5 nm; Ag, Pd, Pt, and Ru) via multidentate polyoxometalate (POM, [SiW9O34]10−) modification. In addition to enhancing stability, the POMs can modulate the electronic states of metal nanoparticles. Moreover, immobilization of the POM-modified metal nanoparticles on solid supports enables further tuning of the electronic states via a cooperative effect between the POMs and the supports without altering the particle size. Notably, POM-modified Pd nanoparticles on carbon support exhibited superior catalytic activity and selectivity in hydrogenation reactions in comparison with the catalyst without the POM modification. Strong metal‐support interaction (SMSI) between transition metal nanoparticles and carbon matrix offers significant structure advantages due to the ability to modulate the electronic structure of metal nanoparticles, increase the density of active sites, and improve the conductivity of catalysts. Here, ultrafine nanoparticles of metallic molybdenum compounds (MoP, Mo2C, and MoS2) strongly coupled with mesoporous carbon CMK‐5 are synthesized. The confinement growth of nanoparticles in the pores of CMK‐5 produces encapsulated nanoparticles, affording facilitated electron transfer, and enhancing the HER activity induced by the SMSI effect. The hierarchical nanostructure and strong electronic interactions between the carbon substrate and molybdenum‐based nanoparticles allow efficient mass/electron transport between the carbon substrate and molybdenum‐based nanoparticles, improving the catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. The effective electron exchange between the Mo species and the CMK‐5 support is studied by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurement, confirming the presence of the SMSI effect. The resulting MoP/CMK‐5 catalyst exhibits outstanding HER performance in alkaline (65 mV@10 mA cm−2), acidic (123 mV@10 mA cm−2), and simulated seawater electrolytes (103 mV@10 mA cm−2), making it one of the most promising catalysts reported for HER. Recently, two-dimensional systems have attracted considerable interest from scientists, due to their high H 2 storage capacity and excellent reversibility. In this context, by means of DFT computations, we predict a novel system known as boron carbide, which can be formed by replacing 50% carbon atoms with boron atoms in tetragonal-graphene. We investigate the hydrogen adsorption performance of pristine and functionalized t-B 4 C 4 sheets with the metals Li/Sc/Ti. Results indicate that metal-decorated t-B 4 C 4 exhibits significantly lower H 2 adsorption energies compared to pristine t-B 4 C 4. Moreover, the hydrogen storage capacities for Li/Sc/Ti@t-B 4 C 4 are 13.32%, 10.03% and 9.74% respectively. Furthermore, the desorption temperature exceeds the critical temperature of H 2. Based on activation energy, H 2 can migrate quickly on the t-B 4 C 4 sheet during the adsorption/desorption cycles. In(III) tetraarylporphyrin complexes with 4‐thiomethylphenyl (1‐InPor), thien‐3‐yl (2‐InPor), thien‐2‐yl (3‐InPor) and 5‐bromothien‐2‐yl (4‐InPor) meso‐aryl rings have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes have been conjugated to gold and silver nanoparticles (AuNPs and AgNPs). The photodynamic antimicrobial chemotherapy (PACT) activities of 1–4‐InPor and their AuNP and AgNP conjugates have been investigated against both planktonic bacteria and biofilms of Gram‐(+) S. aureus and Gram‐(−) E. coli. 2.5 μg.mL−1 solutions of 1–4‐InPor exhibited favorable PACT activities against planktonic S. aureus with high Log10 reduction values in the 4.28–7.69 range upon 75 min photoirradiation with a Thorlabs M625L3 LED (240 mW.cm−2) mounted onto the illumination chamber of a Modulight 7710 medical laser system to provide a dose at the well‐plate of 86 mJ.cm−2.min−1. In contrast, low values in the 1.4–1.9 range were obtained against E. coli with 10 μg.mL−1 solutions. 1–4‐InPor exhibited relatively low PACT activity against the biofilm cells of S. aureus and E. coli. Conjugation of 1–4‐InPor to AgNPs and AuNPs significantly enhanced the PACT activities. This is demonstrated by the complete eradication of planktonic S. aureus at shorter irradiation times with high Log10 values>7.69 and moderate Log10 values>2 against planktonic E. coli for the meso‐thienylporphyrin conjugates. Selaginella willdenowii, a commonly used greenhouse fern, was often used as a biowaste to synthesize zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) in an eco-friendly and cost-effective way. UV–Visible spectra studies were carried out to confirm the synthesis of S. willdenowii-mediated ZnO NPs (SW-ZnO NPs), and a peak at 367nm with a sharp band gap of 3.415eV was observed. The X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the crystalline size of the synthesized SW-ZnO NPs was 11.971nm. The phytochemicals present in the extracts and the compounds involved in the reduction of metal to nanoparticles were determined by Fourier Transform Infrared analysis. Scanning electron microscopy was utilized to analyze the surface morphology and size of the obtained SW-ZnO NPs. The examination revealed that they exhibited a hexagonal shape, with an average size falling within the range of 17–23nm. Under ultra-violet light, reactive blue 220 and reactive yellow 145 dyes showed 78.06% and 60.14% degradation, showing potential photocatalytic degradation activity. The synthesized SW-ZnO NPs also exhibited antimicrobial activity against bacterial strains (Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis) and fungal cultures (Candida tropicalis and Candida albicans) showed cytotoxic activity against Hep-G2 cell lines. The synthesis of ultrafine metal nanoparticles and their integration onto 2D nanomaterials have attracted significant interest due to their outstanding chemical and electrochemical activity. Among 2D materials, MXenes have emerged as promising candidates for hybridization owing to their abundant surface nucleation sites and high electrical conductivity. However, achieving uniform growth of ultrafine metal nanoparticles on MXene surfaces remains a challenge due to non‐uniform metal nucleation and growth behaviors. In this study, a novel coordination‐assisted surface functionalization method is presented to graft organic ligands onto MXene, promoting the uniform growth of ultrafine metal nanoparticles. By leveraging the mutual attraction between metal ions, organic ligands, and MXene surface functional groups, MXene surfaces are efficiently functionalized through palladium coordination complexes. Subsequent ligand‐induced growth facilitated the uniform nucleation of ultrafine metal nanoparticles, resulting in densely anchored nanoparticles of 1–3 nm in size on MXene. Comprehensive characterizations reveal the effectiveness of the method, demonstrating exceptional properties of the MXene‐metal nanoparticle hybrid, particularly in hydrogen sensing applications. Proteins are an eminently important class of ubiquitous biomacromolecules with diverse biological functions, and numerous techniques for their detection, quantification, and localisation have been developed. Many of these methods exploit the selectivity arising from molecular recognition of proteins/antigens by immunoglobulins. The combination of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) with such "immuno"-techniques to immuno-SERS (iSERS) is the central topic of this review, which is focused on colloidal SERS nanotags, i.e., molecularly functionalised noble metal nanoparticles conjugated to antibodies, for their use in protein assays and ex vivo imaging. After contrasting the fundamental differences between label-free SERS and iSERS, including a balanced description of the advantages and drawbacks of the latter, we describe the usual workflow of iSERS experiments. Milestones in the development of the iSERS technology are summarised from a historical perspective. By highlighting selected examples from the literature, we illustrate the conceptual progress that has been achieved in the fields of iSERS-based protein assays and ex vivo imaging. Finally, we attempt to predict what is necessary to fully exploit the transformative potential of the iSERS technology by stimulating the transition from research in academic labs into applications for the benefit of our society. Catalyst deactivation by sintering and coking is a long‐standing issue in metal‐catalyzed harsh high‐temperature hydrocarbon reactions. Ultrathin oxide coatings of metal nanocatalysts have recently appeared attractive to address this issue, while the porosity of the overlayer is difficult to control to preserve the accessibility of embedded metal nanoparticles, thus often leading to a large decrease in activity. Here, we report that a nanometer‐thick alumina coating of MgAl2O4‐supported metal catalysts followed by high‐temperature reduction can transform a nonporous amorphous alumina overlayer into a porous Mg1‐xAl2Oy crystalline spinel structure with a pore size of 2–3 nm and weakened acidity. The high porosity stems from the restrained Mg migration from the MgAl2O4 support to the alumina overlayer through solid‐state reactions at high temperatures. The resulting Ni/MgAl2O4 and Pt/MgAl2O4 catalysts with a porous crystalline Mg1‐xAl2Oy overlayer achieved remarkably high stability while preserving much higher activity than the corresponding alumina‐coated Ni and Pt catalysts on MgO and Al2O3 supports in the reactions of dry reforming of methane and propane dehydrogenation, respectively. Dry reforming of methane (DRM) takes advantage of greenhouse gases (CH 4 and CO 2) and mitigates their eco-environmental consequences. However, the biggest obstacle for DRM reactions has been the design of catalysts with high resistance to sintering and carbon deposition. In this paper, the embedded bimetallic nickel-cobalt@ silicalite-1 (S1) catalysts (NiCo@S1), with high resistance to sintering and lower carbon deposition, were prepared by grinding crystallization method. The physicochemical characterizations demonstrated that the embedded catalyst for NiCo@S1 could effectively control the size and dispersion of the active metal Ni–Co in the catalyst compared to the supported catalysts for 10Ni/SiO 2 and 10Ni/S1, which further enhance the interaction between the active metal phase and the carrier S1, and greatly minimize the amount of carbon accumulation on the catalysts. After being subjected to a reaction at 700 °C for 6 h, the 10Ni2.5Co@S1 exhibited a significant performance improvement. The instantaneous conversion rate of CH 4 increased from 63.17% to 86.39% (an increase of 23.22%), and the instantaneous conversion rate of CO 2 rose from 70.20% to 88.62% (an increase of 18.42%). Additionally, carbon deposition reduced from 14.58% to 0.82% (a decrease of 13.76%). Metal oxides are recognized as exemplary materials for photocatalytic dye degradation attributed to their unique characteristics such as tunable electronic structure, prolonged stability, and cost-effectiveness. However, the wide band gap inherent to most of these materials often limits their light absorption to the ultraviolet (UV) region. Consequently, the doping of noble metal nanoparticles into the metal oxide nanostructures has been proposed to significantly improve their light-harvesting ability. This enhancement is primarily ascribed to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect associated with noble metal nanoparticles, which facilitates more effective utilization of light. Thus, in this study, we synthesized silver-doped nickel oxide (Ag:NiO) with varying Ag concentrations (0, 1, 2, 4, 6 wt%) to evaluate their photocatalytic performance. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra revealed that NiO possesses a cubic crystalline structure, and a peak shift to a higher angle was noted for Ag doping, indicative of compressive strain. Further analyses of morphological, vibrational, and absorption properties were conducted through the acquisition of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, Raman spectra and UV–Vis absorption spectra, respectively. The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB) dyes was assessed, revealing that NiO with 4.wt.% Ag doping exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity, achieving 99% degradation of MB and 90% degradation of RhB. Deposition of metal nanoparticles onto the molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets is an efficient method to tune the electronic structure of the MoS2 and maximize its catalytic performance towards the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we report the electrodeposition of Pd and Pt nanoparticles onto desulfurized MoS2 nanosheets (MoS2–x) to achieve an improved HER activity in an acidic electrolyte. The initial MoS2 powder was exfoliated and isolated through centrifugation, followed by electrochemical desulfurization to create defect sites. Subsequently, Pt and Pd nanoparticles were electrodeposited onto the S‐vacancies of MoS2–x nanosheets. The resulting PdPt nanoparticles, with a diameter of 3.3 ±1.7 nm, were distributed across the surfaces of the nanosheets. A preferential deposition was evident at the edges of the nanosheets, particularly when Pd was deposited first followed by Pt. Owing to this preferential deposition of Pd and Pt and the synergistic interaction of MoS2–x with Pd and Pt, the prepared catalyst exhibited a low overpotential of 30 mV at 10 mA cm−2, which is 2.7× lower than the MoS2–x alone. The prepared catalyst exhibited a 1.7× increase in the mass activity at 20 mV overpotential, relative to that of a commercial Pt/C nanocatalyst, showcasing its promising potential as an alternative catalyst. The discrete sources method is used to develop a mathematical model for comparative analysis of the influence exerted on the optical properties of alkaline and noble metal nanoparticles placed in a dense outer medium when the bulk and surface quantum effects are taken into account. A substantial difference between the manifestations of the bulk and surface quantum effects in alkaline particles is demonstrated. Specifically, in the case of the bulk quantum effect, the surface plasmon resonance in alkaline particles exhibits a shift toward shorter wavelengths (blue shift), while the surface effect leads to a shift toward longer wavelengths (red shift). Among the metal oxide nanoparticles, zinc oxide (ZnO) has recently been cited as the new material of the future due to its unique properties and wide application areas. In this study, we offer a simple technique for the production of extremely stable ZnO nanoparticles (CA-ZnO NPs) using the aqueous and ethyl alcohol (1/1, v/v) extract of Cupressus arizonica (CA, Blue cypress) leaves and cones and zinc acetate (Zn-Ac) salt. The structure of the produced CA-ZnO NPs was elucidated and nanoparticles were used as a photocatalyst for the removal of textile dyestuffs. The particle sizes of CA-ZnO NPs calcined at different temperatures (60°C, 150°C, and 400°C) increased from 20 nm to 50 nm. Produced CA-ZnO NPs were used to investigate photocatalytic degradation of Basic Yellow (BY28), Basic Violet 39 (BV39), Methylene blue (MB), Brilliant Blue (BB3) and Basic Red 46 (BR46) in aqueous solution under UV-light and daylight irradiation. After stirring dye solutions containing CA-ZnO NP for one hour in darkness and 7 hours under UV-light, decolorization rates varied from 53% to 100%. Decolorization of the dyestuff molecules follows the pseudo first-order kinetics. Produced CA-ZnO NPs showed antibacterial efficiency against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. CA-ZnO NPs formed zones ranging from 10 mm to 11 mm against gram+ and gram-bacteria. Green production of ZnO NPs utilizing Cupressus arizonica plant extract can replace chemical methods, and the resulting CA-ZnO NPs can be used in industries like water purification. Biosynthesis of metal nanoparticles is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly technology. In the present study, copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) were synthesized using white tea leaf extracts. They were then characterized for their chemical structure and evaluated ability for the methylene blue (MB) degradation in the adsorption system with H2O2. XRD and FTIR analyses revealed that the CuNPs were present as an amorphous phase, with the O-H polyphenol compound bound to the Cu ion. The XPS deconvolution indicated the presence of Cu2+ and Cu+ in the CuNPs. TEM images revealed that the average particle size was less than 10 nm. The CuNPs synthesized using different precursors exhibited effective ability for the MB degradation in the adsorption system. Based on the adsorption theory, the pseudo-second-order model fitted well with the experimental data, and the thermodynamic calculation suggested that the reaction was endothermic, and spontaneous. The CuNPs synthesized using the CuSO4 precursor exhibited higher antibacterial activity compared to those synthesized using Cu(NO3)2. In conclusion, white tea leaf extract is an inexpensive and easily available precursor for the biosynthesis of copper nanoparticles. Leishmaniasis is a complex disease present in a variety of manifestations listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the neglected diseases with a worse prognosis if not treated. Medicinal inorganic chemistry has provided a variety of drugs based on metal–organic complexes synthesized with different metal centers and organic ligands to fight against a great number of parasite maladies and specifically Leishmaniasis. Taking advantage of the natural properties that many metals present for biotechnological purposes, nanotechnology has offered, in recent years, a new approach consisting on the application of metal nanoparticles to treat a great number of parasitic diseases, as a drug vehicle or as a treatment themselves. A promising design combining low loss, high refractive index dielectric materials with metal nanoparticles, and local plasma resonance is described for ring-disk nanoantenna. A hybrid Au ring Si disk structure with chain gaps is constructed and the distributions of the electric field and near-field enhancement of the electric fields are analyzed by numerical simulation utilizing the multipole decomposition method. The electric field strength can be enhanced efficiently using metals to improve the anapole mode response of dielectric materials with large refractive indexes. Additional enhancement of the electric field is achieved by opening the chain gap to create high-intensity hot spots inside the disk. The chain comprises 14 normal octahedrons and a few tips are created by intersecting octahedrons. The electric field is greatly enhanced at the tips where there are high-intensity hot spots. The effectiveness of this structure as a refractive index sensor is assessed. The scattering cross-section (SCS) and wavelength shifts result in a maximum sensitivity of 210 nm/RIU. The results validate the design concept and the hybrid structure boasting large electric field enhancement and excellent optical sensing properties have large potential in nonlinear photonics. In the hybrid ring-disk structure, the construction of a chain gap made of 14 intersecting hexagonal prisms can produce strong electric field enhancement at various locations. The electric field enhancement contour around the hybrid structure under illumination was analyzed at the plasmon resonance wavelength. This review presents a brief discussion on the numerous synthetic techniques used to prepare metal nanoparticles supported on various two-dimensional (2D) materials. Special emphasis has been given to graphene and other 2D analogues such as g-C3N4, h-BN, MoS2, WS2 etc. supported metal nanoparticles. In the present study, in vitro grown 45 days old Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal shoots were exposed to lead acetate (PbAC 2) at varying concentrations (acute: 300–4800 µM; chronic: 50–800 µM) for 12–48 h and 4–12 days, respectively. It revealed that cultures grown in 800 µM PbAC 2 for 12 days of exposure (C5) recorded significantly higher biomass (17.28 g) and increase in the divalent metal ions such as calcium from 1412 (control) to 1787 mg kg-1 (C5), potassium 21,109 (control) to 24,779 mg kg-1 (C5), and iron from 11 (control) to 82 mg kg-1 (C5), with lead (Pb) accumulation reaching up to 405 mg kg-1 (C5). Compared to the control shoots (0.783, 0.805 & 1.3 mg g-1), C5 shoots positively correlated with secondary metabolites namely withaferin A (3.14 mg g-1) and withanolide A (0.960 mg g-1) production and negatively with withanone (1.027 mg g-1). Also, C5 shoots had spherical shaped nanoparticles with a mean particle size of 25±10 nm which was then identified as lead nanoparticles (PbNPs). To our knowledge, the present study is the first of its kind where the in planta synthesis of PbNPs/PbONPs by in vitro shoot cultures of W. somnifera is reported along with accumulation of higher biomass and selective withanolides under Pb stress. Integration of wafer‐scale oxide and semiconductor materials meets the difficulties of residual stress and materials incompatibility. In this work, Ag NPs thin film is contributed as an energy confinement layer between oxide (Sapphire) and semiconductor (Si) wafers to localize the materials interaction during ultrafast laser irradiation. Due to the plasmonic effects generated within constructed dielectric–metal–dielectric structures (i.e., Sapphire–Ag–Si), thermal diffusion and chemical reaction between Ag and its neighboring materials facilitate the microwelding of Sapphire and Si wafers. Ag NPs can be totally sintered within the junction area to bridge oxide and semiconductor, while Al─O─Ag bond and Ag─Si bond are formed at Ag–Sapphire and Ag─Si interfaces, respectively. As‐received heterogeneous joint exhibits a high shear strength up to 5.4 MPa, with the fracture occurring inside Si wafer. Meanwhile, insertion of metal nanolayer can greatly relieve the residual stress‐induced microcracking inside the brittle materials. Such wafer‐scale Sapphire and Si interconnects thus show robust strength and excellent impermeability even after thermal shocking (−40 °C to 120 °C) for 200 cycles. This metal NPs layer‐assisted plasmonic microwelding technology can extend to broad materials integration, which is promising for high‐performance microdevices development in MEMS, MOEMS, or microfluidics. Electron tomography based on scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) is used to analyze 3D structures of metal nanoparticles on the atomic scale. However, in the case of supported metal nanoparticle catalysts, the supporting material may interfere with the 3D reconstruction of metal nanoparticles. In this study, a deep learning‐based image inpainting method is applied to high‐angle annular dark field (HAADF)–STEM images of a supported metal nanoparticle to predict and remove the background image of the support. The inpainting method can separate an 11 nm Pd nanoparticle from the θ‐Al2O3 support in HAADF–STEM images of the θ‐Al2O3‐supported Pd catalyst. 3D reconstruction of the extracted images of the Pd nanoparticle reveals that the Pd nanoparticle adopts a deformed structure of the cuboctahedron model particle, resulting in high index surfaces, which account for the high catalytic activity for methane combustion. Using the xyz coordinate of each Pd atom, the local Pd–Pd bond distance and its variance in a real supported Pd nanoparticle are visualized, showing large strain and disorder at the Pd–Al2O3 interface. Nanocompounds are widely used in many fields such as environmental, medicine, or agriculture. Nowadays, these nanocompounds are mainly synthesized by chemical methods, causing environmental pollution and potential health problems. Thus, microorganisms have been investigated as potential nanoparticle green biosynthesizers. The main research is focused on the synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) using algae, yeast, bacteria, and fungi. Among them, fungi have been the most used, due to their simple and effective mycosynthesis. Fungi as well as other organisms involved in green synthesis of NPs use their secondary metabolites (SMs) to mediate and catalyze the reactions to produce metal nanoparticles (MNPs) as well as being able to act as capping agents producing different physicochemical characteristics and biological activities in the MNPs. Among the various fungi used for mycosynthesis are Trichoderma species, which mediate the production of Ag, Cu, CuO, Zn, ZnO, and other MNPs. Here, we review the main SMs from Trichoderma that have been reported or suggested to contribute to synthesize or act as capping agents and their applications, as well as present the main challenges faced by this type of synthesis. Cancer is a leading global cause of mortality, which underscores the imperative of early detection for improved patient outcomes. Biorecognition molecules, especially aptamers, have emerged as highly effective tools for early and accurate cancer cell identification. Aptamers, with superior versatility in synthesis and modification, offer enhanced binding specificity and stability compared with conventional antibodies. Hence, this article reviews diagnostic strategies employing aptamer-based biohybrid nano-biosensing technologies, focusing on their utility in detecting cancer biomarkers and abnormal cells. Recent developments include the synthesis of nano-aptamers using diverse nanomaterials, such as metallic nanoparticles, metal oxide nanoparticles, carbon-derived substances, and biohybrid nanostructures. The integration of these nanomaterials with aptamers significantly enhances sensitivity and specificity, promising innovative and efficient approaches for cancer diagnosis. There has been a growing curiosity and enthusiasm surrounding recent advancements in nanotechnology, electromagnetism, and optics. This interdisciplinary collaboration encompasses fields such as nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, and nanobiotechnology, which often overlap in their applications. One area that has attracted significant attention is the use of metal nanoparticles (MNPs), which has resulted in notable advancements in medicine. MNPs hold the promise of significantly boosting drug delivery efficacy, reducing unwanted side effects, and enhancing delivery precision. They also have applications in diagnostics, the development of biocompatible materials, and the exploration of nutraceuticals. Using metal nanoparticles in drug delivery provides benefits such as increased stability, prolonged circulation time, enhanced distribution, and precise targeting. The field of nanobiotechnnolgy has facilitated the creation of eco-friendly approaches, referred to as green synthesis, for the production of MNPs. MNPs offer improved stability and targeted release in drug delivery, while also providing a more sustainable alternative to chemical synthesis. This review aims to address the challenges and prospects of utilizing MNPs in drug delivery, with a specific focus on sustainable approaches for fabricating and modifying metal nanocarriers. The extensive use of carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) inevitably results in their introduction into soil and groundwater, which poses a significant risk to the safety of these natural resources. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the transport behavior of CNPs in the subsurface environment and how it affects the transport of co-contaminants such as heavy metals, organic compounds, nano-plastics, engineered metal and metal oxide nanoparticles. This review focuses on recent advancements in research on the transport behaviors of CNPs in porous media and its effect on the transport of co-contaminants, with respect to the mechanisms associated with CNPs transport and the mechanisms of action of CNPs on co-contaminant transport, as well as the factors that influence these processes. Results of the existing research indicate that aggregation, attachment, detachment, straining, blocking and ripening are the primary processes governing CNPs transport due to their unique physiochemistry. CNPs can either act as carriers, facilitating the transport of co-contaminants, or as competitors, hindering the deposition of co-contaminants. Additionally, they can serve as collectors for co-contaminant deposition or co-deposit with co-contaminants, inhibiting their transport. The interactions between CNPs, co-contaminants, and the medium determine the exact role played by CNPs in co-contaminant transport. The processes of CNPs transport and its effect on co-contaminant transport are affected by the physicochemical properties of CNPs and porous media, as well as the chemistry and hydrodynamics of groundwater. The limitations of conventional template‐based methods for the deposition of nanoparticle assemblies into defined patterns on solid substrates call for the development of techniques that do not require templates or lithographic masks. The use of optically‐induced thermal gradients to drive the migration of colloids toward or away from a laser spot, known as opto‐thermophoresis, has shown promise for the low‐power trapping and optical manipulation of a variety of colloidal species. However, the printing of colloids using this technique has so far not been established. Herein, a method for the optically directed printing of noble metal nanoparticles, specifically gold nanospheres is reported. The thermophoresis of the polymer polyvinylpyrrolidone and gold nanospheres toward a laser spot led to the deposition of nanoparticle aggregates, capable of serving as surface‐enhanced Raman scattering substrates. The influence of heating laser power and the concentrations of polymer, salt, and surfactant on the nanoparticle deposition rate and structure of the printed pattern are studied, showing that a variety of conditions can permit printing, suggesting facile generalization to different nanoparticle compositions, sizes, and shapes. These findings will greatly benefit future efforts for directed nanoparticle assembly, and drive applications in sensing, photothermal heating, and relevant applications in biomedicine and devices. Even at low temperatures, metal nanoparticles (NPs) possess atomic dynamics that are key for their properties but challenging to elucidate. Recent experimental advances allow obtaining atomic‐resolution snapshots of the NPs in realistic regimes, but data acquisition limitations hinder the experimental reconstruction of the atomic dynamics present within them. Molecular simulations have the advantage that these allow directly tracking the motion of atoms over time. However, these typically start from ideal/perfect NP structures and, suffering from sampling limits, provide results that are often dependent on the initial/putative structure and remain purely indicative. Here, by combining state‐of‐the‐art experimental and computational approaches, how it is possible to tackle the limitations of both approaches and resolve the atomistic dynamics present in metal NPs in realistic conditions is demonstrated. Annular dark‐field scanning transmission electron microscopy enables the acquisition of ten high‐resolution images of an Au NP at intervals of 0.6 s. These are used to reconstruct atomistic 3D models of the real NP used to run ten independent molecular dynamics simulations. Machine learning analyses of the simulation trajectories allow resolving the real‐time atomic dynamics present within the NP. This provides a robust combined experimental/computational approach to characterize the structural dynamics of metal NPs in realistic conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
