National audience; A study of the genetic polymorphism of the six main lactoproteins (four caseins, α-lactalbumin and (β-lactoglobulin) has been carried out on 145 bovine and 163 yak milks from the People’s Republic of Mongolia. The polymorphism of the lactoproteins of the Mongolian bovines shows a striking resemblance to that observed in European breeds. Nevertheless a low frequency (0.03) β casein variant with the same electrophoretic mobility as (β-Cn A3 was shown to derive from a mutation other than that determining β-Cn A3 ; this variant was thus given a specific designation (β-Cn A3Mongolie). The observations made on Mongolian yaks concord well with the conclusions of the study previously carried out on Nepalese yaks (GROSCLAUDE et al., 1976 a and b) concerning the existence, in the Yak, of the single (β-lactoglobulin type (β-Lg Dyak and the occurrence of the variants αs1-Cn E and αs2-Cn C.; Une analyse du polymorphisme génétique des six lactoprotéines principales (quatre caséines, α-lactalbumine et β-lactoglobuline) a été effectuée sur des laits individuels de 145 bovins et de 163 yaks provenant de République Populaire de Mongolie. Le polymorphisme des lactoprotéines du groupe de bovins mongols présente une ressemblance frappante avec celui des races européennes. Il est toutefois montré qu’un variant de caséine (β de faible fréquence (environ 0,03), de même mobilité électrophorétique que le variant (β-Cn A3, dérive d’une autre mutation que ce dernier ; ce variant a donc reçu une désignation spécifique (β-Cn A3Mongolie). Les résultats obtenus dans le groupe de yaks mongols recoupent les conclusions de l’étude effectuée chez des yaks népalais (GROSCLAUDE et al., 1976 a et b), notamment en ce qui concerne l’existence, chez le Yak, d’un variant de β-lactoglobuline particulier, apparemment fixé (β-Lg Dyak), et celle des variants αs1-Cn E et αs2-Cn C.

National audience; A seventh allele of the caprine αs1-casein locus, called αs1-CnD, was observed in French Alpine and Saanen breeds. Its frequency in a large herd (N=198) was 0.025. Like αs1-CnB-αs1-CnF and αs1-CnO, this allele is associated with a decreased synthesis rate, its approximate mean contribution being 0.6 - 0.8 g/l, very close to that of αs1-CnF; Un septième allèle du locus de la caséine αs1-caprine, αs1-CnD, a été observé dans les races Alpine et Saanen françaises. The association of intraventricular or atrio-ventricular conductive disorders with a calcified aortic stenosis, is a classical notion demonstrated by the close anatomical relationships between aortic valve and conduction pathways. These conductive disorders have been, for quite some time, analyzed on standard electrocardiograms, but, since a few years, the recording of the bundle of His potential has become the technique of choice. However, studies regarding this subject are few, based on very small and sometimes heterogeneous groups of patients. Sixty six consecutive patients hospitalized for a narrow aortic stenosis have agreed to be subjected, before valve replacement, to a recording of the bundle of His potential. Thirteen of them (19.7%) show a HV interval exceeding 55 ms or a pathological H deflexion (twisted and lasting 35 ms). None of the pre-operative parameters that were analyzed (black-out, left ventricular function, ventriculo-aortic gradient, calculated valvular area, magnitude of valvular and ring calcifications), seem correlated with the increased HV interval. These results cross-check those reported in most of the literature.

National audience; The differences observed, after gel electrophoresis at alcaline pH, between the αs2-Cn C variant of the Yak (Bos grunniens) and the reference variant of αs2-casein in the genus Bos, αs2-Cn A, are due to the effects of two amino acid substitutions : 33 Glu (αs2-Cn A)→ Gly (αs2-Cn C) and 130 Thr (αs2-Cn A) → Ile (αs2-Cn C). The latter substitution apparently modifies the conditions of esterification of the neighbouring seryle residues 129 and 131 : in variant αs2-Cn A, only residue 129 appears to be partially phosphorylated, when, in variant αs2-Cn C, both residues 129 and 131 are found phosphorylated in the fast fraction and unphosphorylated in the slow fraction. A third substitution, which has no effect on the net charge of the protein, 47 Ala (αs2-Cn A) -> Thr (αs2-Cn C), was found ; this is not necessarily specific to the αs2-Cn C variant. This example brings complementary information about the mode of phosphorylation of caseins and shows how, in certain conditions, a mutation in the structural locus of the polypeptide chain of a heteroprotein may alter the electrophoretic pattern of this protein.; Les différences observables, après électrophorèse en gel à pH alcalin, entre le variant αs2-C2n C du Yak (Bos grunniens) et le variant de référence de la caséine αs2 dans le genre Bos, αs2-Cn A, sont dues aux effets de deux substitutions d’acides aminés : 33 Glu (αs2-Cn A) → Gly (αs2-Cn C) et 130 Thr (αs2-Cn A) - Ile (αs2-Cn C). Cette dernière substitution modifie apparemment les conditions d’estérification des résidus séryle 129 et 131 voisins : en effet, dans le variant αs2-Cn A, seul le résidu 129 paraît être partiellement phosphorylé ; par contre, dans le variant αs2-Cn C, les résidus 129 et 131 se trouvent tous deux phosphorylés dans la fraction rapide, et non phosphorylés dans la fraction lente. Une troisième substitution, qui n’a pas d’effet sur la charge nette de la protéine, 47 Ala ( αs2-Cn A) → Thr (αs2-Cn C), a été mise en évidence ; elle n’est pas nécessairement spécifique du variant αs2-Cn C. Cet exemple apporte des informations complémentaires sur les modalités de phosphorylation des caséines et montre comment, dans certaines conditions, une mutation du locus de structure de la chaîne protéique d’une hétéroprotéine peut modifier le motif électrophorétique de cette dernière.
