There has been an unprecedented increase in the growth of photonic components over the last 25 years based on different photonic materials; each having structural/functional limitation in integrated devices. The challenge is that the semiconductors are grown inside MBE chambers, whereas the polymeric waveguides are fabricated by spin-coating. By comparison, glass and crystal-based materials are processed via sputtering and sol-gel techniques. None of these materials processing techniques, therefore, are compatible for a single-step device fabrication, due to the incompatibilities of chemical and physical properties of individual materials. A solution for overcoming the materials limitation is to develop a multi-materials deposition chamber which allows sequential/heterostructure growth on a substrate, without compromising the structural, spectroscopic, and device performances. The rare-earth-ion doped glass- and crystal-based devices are pumped with semiconductor lasers, suggesting that the glass-semiconductor devices might perform better when structurally integrated which may also help in reducing the pump-power for achieving efficient population inversion. We explain the applications of PLD for controlling the structure of thin-films grown on inorganic and metallic substrates for photonic device and photo-active coatings for biological applications, respectively. Examples of materials deposited on dissimilar substrates are discussed with applications such as photonic devices and photo-bioactive surfaces for sensing.

The paper deals with Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) registered in a specific Internet of Things (IoTʼs) network that have different kind of applications. They come into use once they are successfully registered within a specific IoT network. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) with Token based Security Scheme is proposed here for secured and authenticated communication. A lightweight authentication mechanism is proposed also in order to prevent the network from the unauthorized access. Network nodes are generated with token keys immediately after login, and the gateway generates token ID for each individual nodes. Then elliptical curve cryptography is applied to remove the malicious nodes completely if some adversaries missed out during token key verification process. If the user needs to access the data, he must go through the token key generation and verification phase, as well as through the data integrity and transmission phase.

Node authentication and key management are the two significant security services employed in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Since the growth of the devices in WSN is rapidly increasing, strong security policies should be employed to save the network from outside invaders. There is a wide range of smart applications developed in various fields such as military, health, agriculture, smart city, and many others. Since most of the applications consist of sensitive data, they should be protected to save the users’ privacy. Conventional protocols are more prone to security attacks and therefore the authors propose a secure and reliable protocol named Polynomial Authentication and Mapping Verification based Mannequin Routing (PAMVMR). This scheme involves two main processes such as Bi-level authentication and Information Processing. Bi-level authentication includes node-to-gateway authentication using polynomial key shares and node-to-node verification using mapping function that is processed through a context free grammar. Information processing includes creation of mannequin routes by applying Pascal’s triangle method and transmission of data. This makes the network more secure and reliable for data transmission from sensor nodes to a gateway node and from a gateway to users.

The construction industry worldwide is now facing the Industry Revolution 4.0. As such, the industry is undergoing significant transformation to adapt to the needs and challenges of the revolution. New technologies and digitalization in the construction industry, innovating the whole traditional project cycle and bringing more tech savvy and effective in the project delivery of its life cycle are, among others, issues that need to be addressed. Contributing towards the whole construction business model, there is a need to enhance the existing business models that are available. The objective of this paper is to review the types of business model, the definition, and the challenges faced by SMEs to adopt the business model. As a reference, more attention is given to business model canvas. Challenges faced by SME contractors to implement construction industry 4.0 technologies and enhance their productivity are the expected contributions to the body of knowledge. This paper concludes, many studies highlight on finding new elements to be added into existing business model canvas. At end of the research, it is found that manpower, machinery, material, finance and information technology are the new elements that need to be added in existing business model canvas. Furthermore, this paper will help the scholars and industry players to understand how the Industry Revolution 4.0 significantly affect the construction industry, SME and their business model.

Patients with WAS are also predisposed to autoimmunity and malignancy. Autoimmune manifestations have been reported in 26%– 72% of patients with WAS. Autoimmunity is an independent predictor of poor prognosis and predisposes to malignancy. Development of autoimmunity is also an early pointer of the need for hematopoietic stem–cell transplantation. In this manuscript, we have collated the published data and present a narrative review on autoimmune manifestations in WAS. A summary of currently proposed immunopathogenic mechanisms and genetic variants associated with development of autoimmunity in WAS is also included.Keywords: thrombocytopenia, vasculitis, genetics, hematopoietic stem–cell transplant, bleeding, malignancy

Background/Purpose: The effectiveness of a Business School depends on the extra role behaviours or Organ-isational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) of its committed academics. The social exchange theory postulates that employees tend to display OCB when they know how their organisation would treat them. As B-School academics’ inclination towards OCB is less understood, this study examines the interaction between Procedural Justice (PJ), Perceived Organisational Support (POS) and Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) among B-School academics.

The 2030 agenda for sustainable development has embraced the importance of sustainable practices in the construction industry. Parallel to the Industry revolution 4.0, the construction industry needs to keep pace with technological advances in data management to keep pace with the revolution through the ability to process and extract value from data. This phenomenon attracts the requirement of Big Data (BD). The construction industry deals with large volumes of heterogeneous data, which is expected to increase exponentially following an intense use of modern technologies. This research presents a comprehensive study of the literature, investigating the potential application of BD integration in the construction industry. The adoption of such technologies in this industry remains at a nascent stage and lags broad uptake of these technologies in other fields. The Construction Industry is driving to boost its productivity through the implementation of data technologies; hence, significant research is needed in this area. Currently, there is a lack of deep comprehensive research on BD integration applications that provide insight for the construction industry. This research closes the gap and gives an overview of the literature. The discussion presented the current utilization, the issues, and ways for potential works along with the challenges companion with the implementation.
