Abstract

Carbon source precursors for high-grade, clean, and low-carbon refractories were obtained by in situ exfoliation of flake graphite (FG) and phenol&ndash, formaldehyde resin (PF) composites with three-roll milling (TRM) for the fabrication of graphite nanoplatelets. In addition, by using Ni(NO3)2&middot, 6H2O as a catalyst in the pyrolysis process, multidimensional carbon nanostructures were obtained with coexisting graphite nanoplatelets (GNPs), glassy carbon (GC), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The resulting GNPs (exfoliated 16 times) had sizes of 10&ndash, 30 &mu, m, thicknesses of 30&ndash, 50 nm, and could be uniformly dispersed in GC from the PF pyrolysis. Moreover, Ni(NO3)2&middot, 6H2O played a key role in the formation and growth of CNTs from a catalytic pyrolysis of partial PF with the V&ndash, S/tip growth mechanisms. The resulting multidimensional carbon nanostructures with GNPs/GC/CNTs are attributed to the shear force of the TRM process, pyrolysis, and catalytic action of nitrates. This method reduced the production costs of carbon source precursors for low-carbon refractories, and the precursors exhibited excellent performances when fabricated on large scales.

Abstract

As an effective modelling method for large-scale systems of high complexities, the system dynamics (SD), mainly based on feedback structures, has been increasingly used in the construction management research. However, a systematic review of this area is unavailable until date. This chapter presents a systematic analysis of 100 papers from 40 peer-reviewed journals. Useful data have been found in terms of years of publication, contribution by individuals and research institutions, citations of the selected papers and relevant research topics. These results are beneficial for future research of SD in the construction management field.

111. System dynamics modeling for construction management research: critical review and future trends

Abstract

As a result of growing complexities in the construction industry, system dynamics modeling (SDM) has been increasingly used in construction management (CM) research to explore complicated causal relationships at the various levels of construction and management processes. Given the rapid growth of SDM applications over the past two decades, a systematic review is needed to ascertain the state of the art and further trends in the area. This paper provides the results of a systematic analysis of 103 papers from 41 selected peer-reviewed journals from 1997 to 2016. The contributions of the papers are first analyzed, structured and formulated in terms of the year of publication, software involved, the combined use with other methods, and research design. With the assistance of the a keyword co-occurrence network analysis, eight research topics involving different internal and external complexities are identified, including: (1) sustainability, (2) project planning and control; (3) performance and effectiveness; (4) strategic management; (5) site and resource management; (6) risk analysis and management; (7) knowledge management, and; (8) organization and stakeholder management. The analysis results reveal the pivotal role of SDM in streamlining different complicated casual relationships at the activity, project, and industry levels across the eight topics and its significant potential in uncovering the impact of complicated contextual conditions on project planning and control, effectiveness and performance, strategic management, and sustainability at the project and industry levels. Lastly, trends and recommendations for SDM applications are provided for future CM research. This paper provides a state of the art of SDM in CM applications and insights into opportunities and useful references for the future.

Abstract

Background We aim to study the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris with moving cupping. Methods We will search PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, Wanfang Database, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database of randomized controlled trials beginning from their inception to August 2020. The primary outcomes are that PASI score and clinical effective rate will be the main outcome indicators. Additional outcome is The Quality of life index score and safety assessment will be considered a secondary outcome. Two independent authors will based on the Cochrane system evaluation manual 5.1.0 version of RCT bias risk assessment tool to evaluate the risk of bias among the final included studies. And we will use the RevMan 5.3 software to analysis data. Results This study will provide an assessment of the current state of moving cupping for the psoriasis vulgaris, aiming to show the efficacy and safety of this treatment. Abstract

For thermal lens spectrometry in micro space, temperature distributions in the sample under continuous-wave modulated excitations of either laser or incoherent light source (ILS) are for the first time deduced with respective considerations of different experimental parameters, such as flow of the sample, excitation beam divergence, effects of top/bottom layers adjacent to the sample, and sidewall effects. On the basis of the temperature distributions, thermal lens (TL) models are built based on the Fresnel diffraction theory. Numerical simulations of the influence of the above factors on the TL signal are made for different detection schemes in search of higher detection sensitivity. We were able to predict the optimum probe beam offset as a function of the flow of the sample, the optimum detection scheme to minimize the effects of fluctuation of the flow velocity and/or excitation beam radius, the optimum excitation beam radius for a given sample length, and propose a three-layer system in an ILS-excited thermal lens microscope for sensitivity enhancement of up to 10 times. Abstract

Altered expression of Twist, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 and MMP-9 proteins has been identified in various types of human cancers. However, the correlation between Twist and these gelatinases in breast cancer remains unclear. In this study, immunohistochemical analysis of Twist, MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression was performed on tissue microarrays from 200 breast cancer cases. The association of Twist and gelatinase expression with clinicopathological factors and patient survival was analyzed. Altered expression of Twist, MMP-2 and MMP-9 proteins was observed in breast cancer tissue. The positive rates of Twist, MMP-2 and MMP-9 protein expression were 75.5, 97.0 and 96.0%, respectively. 144. Nitrogen-Doped Ultrahigh Microporous Carbons Derived from Two Nitrogen-Containing Post-Cross-Linked Polymers for Efficient CO2Capture

Abstract

The nitrogen (N)-doped porous carbons have always been one of the important categories of the adsorbents for CO2capture. Herein, we prepared N-doped porous carbons from two kinds of N-containing post-cross-linked polymers (HPDV and HPDN) by KOH activation carbonization. By changing the carbonization temperature and KOH dosage, the porosity and chemical structure of two porous carbons were effectively tuned, and strictly N-doped microporous carbons with ultrahigh microporosity were acquired (80.00–90.00%). They exhibited high CO2uptake (3.93–6.56 mmol/g at 273 K and 1 bar), acceptable CO2/N2selectivity (IAST: 21.5–39.7), moderate isosteric heat of adsorption (20.3–41.8 kJ/mol), and good reusability. Moreover, the adsorption energy results from DFT calculation indicated that diversified N-functional groups had improved CO2uptake through Lewis acid–base interactions and hydrogen-bonding interactions, and the study further clarified that the large micropore volume, especially the ultramicropore volume (Vultra, d< 0.8 nm), played a key role for CO2capture. These porous carbons developed therein become promising CO2adsorbents.

145. Artificial Solid-Electrolyte Interface Facilitating Dendrite-Free Zinc Metal Anodes via Nanowetting Effect

Abstract

The formation of dendrites on a zinc (Zn) metal anode has limited its practical applications on aqueous batteries. Herein, an artificial composite protective layer consisting of nanosized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) to improve the poor wetting effect of aqueous electrolytes on the Zn anode is proposed to reconstruct the Zn/electrolyte interface. In this layer, hydrophilic MOF nanoparticles serve as interconnecting electrolyte reservoirs enabling nanolevel wetting effect as well as regulating an electrolyte flux on Zn anode. This zincophilic interface exhibits significantly reduced charge-transfer resistance. As a result, stable and dendrite-free Zn plating/stripping cycling performance is achieved for over 500 cycles. In addition, especially at higher C-rates, the coating layer significantly reduces the overpotentials in a Zn/MnO2aqueous battery during cycling. The proposed principle and method in this work demonstrate an effective way to reconstruct a stable interface on metal anodes (e.g., Zn) where a conventional solid-electrolyte interface (SEI) cannot be formed.
