However, current biomarkers related to psoriasis lack clinical specificity, sensitivity, and predictive ability.Methods: In this study, we collected skin lesion tissues from 20 psoriasis patients and 20 normal skin samples. Additionally, we obtained four datasets from the GEO database, which included human psoriasis and healthy specimens. We utilized SVM-RFE analysis and the LASSO regression model to identify potential biomarkers. Furthermore, we examined the composition of immune cell types in psoriasis and their correlation with specific genes.Results: Our investigation revealed 57 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and we identified significantly enriched pathways through KEGG pathway analysis. The results of machine learning and WGCNA suggested that LCE3D and SPRR1B could potentially be used as marker genes for diagnosing psoriasis. RT-PCR and immunohistochemical detection confirmed the abnormally high expression of the SPRR1B gene in psoriasis. Abstract

China and South Korea share a close, irreplaceable, and interconnected relationship, whether it be through thousands of years of history, close geographic ties, or the common influence of Confucianism, whether it be at the top of the government or among the people. In recent years, with the world in turmoil and the emergence of various factions and interest groups, it seems to be a critical moment for researchers and learners in the field of international disciplines to explore the relationship between China and South Korea. This paper is based on the diplomacy of China and South Korea, with the possibility of future development of the two countries at the diplomatic level as the core element, and the suggestion that China and South Korea can improve their relationship through diplomacy in the future will be the focus of this paper. Compared with the existing research, this paper does not reflect too much theoretical research, but focuses on practical research on the solution of real problems, which is also a key difference between this paper and other existing research. This paper is written with the hope of presenting the readers with some of the problems that we are facing in our time, and also to draw their attention to the future development of the relationship between China and South Korea. In this way, the significance of this paper is not lost.

123. Porous PDMS–ZnO Wearable Gas Sensor for Acetone Biomarker Detection and Breath Analysis

Abstract

In response to the growing demand for global health monitoring, we report a nonintrusive health detection method using a compact, conformal wearable ultraviolet (UV)-assisted gas-sensing system based on an intrinsically flexible porous polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-zinc oxide (ZnO) composite layer (PPZL) for the breath acetone (BrAce) detection and breath event analysis. The enhanced acetone response is attributed to the synergistic effect of UV irradiation and the high surface area of the porous structure, which also improves the mechanical robustness. The UV-assisted wearable sensor reliably detects acetone concentrations ranging from 1 to 100 ppm at room temperature under 4.05 mW/cm2UV intensity, even under mechanical strains such as a bending radius of 5 mm and 60% tensile strain. It accurately analyzes different breathing patterns (12–20 breaths per minute) and BrAce concentrations, maintaining a stable performance over 20 days with less than 5% signal degradation. The sensor exhibits response and recovery times of average 110–150 and 130–180 s, respectively, and maintains a consistent 3 ppm BrAce response under varying humidity levels up to 70% relative humidity, ensuring accurate detection of BrAce concentrations during real-world breath tests. Additionally, the sensor targets only specific gases, and the sensor’s selectivity is not a key concern. This flexible acetone gas sensor offers a portable solution for health management and a fabrication method for designing flexible metal oxide materials.

124. Simultaneously Encapsulation and Formation of PDMS-MWCNTs Composites for Multidirectional Microchannel Force Sensors

Abstract

Microchannel force sensors have good stretching characteristics and have garnered a lot of interest in the research area of health monitoring and human movement identification. However, there are still existing a number of problems for such microchannel-based force sensors, such as costly and time-consuming manufacturing procedures, layer mechanical mismatches, and poor instability. Here, we propose a flexible microchannel-based polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) composite sensor with high sensitivity and directional stretching response. MWCNTs are inserted into microchannels using the self-diffusion approach, and a unique encapsulating process has been demonstrated that combines MWCNTs with PDMS to create a composite that maximizes interlayer mechanical compatibility. When compared to traditional encapsulation techniques, the novel encapsulating approach tenfold boosts the sensors’ sensitivity within the same pressure detection range. In the range of 0–100 kPa, the sensitivity is up to 0.0433 kPa−1, detecting pressures as low as 11.9 pa, while the gauge factor is as high as 18.1. The results demonstrate that the proposed microchannel force sensor has significant promise for the future in the field of motion detection, health monitoring, and so on.

Abstract

African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious and severe hemorrhagic transboundary swine viral disease with up to a 100% mortality rate, which leads to a tremendous socio-economic loss worldwide. The lack of safe and efficacious ASF vaccines is the greatest challenge in the prevention and control of ASF. In this study, we generated a safe and effective live-attenuated virus (LAV) vaccine candidate VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 by serially passaging a virulent genotype II strain (VNUA-ASFV-L2) in an immortalized porcine alveolar macrophage cell line (3D4/21, 50 passages). VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 lost its hemadsorption ability but maintained comparable growth kinetics in 3D4/21 cells to that of the parental strain. Notably, it exhibited significant attenuation of virulence in pigs across different doses (103, 104, and 105 TCID50). All vaccinated pigs remained healthy with no clinical signs of African swine fever virus (ASFV) infection throughout the 28-day observation period of immunization. VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 was efficiently cleared from the blood at 14–17 days post-infection, even at the highest dose (105 TCID50). Importantly, the attenuation observed in vivo did not compromise the ability of VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 to induce protective immunity. Vaccination with VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 elicited robust humoral and cellular immune responses in pigs, achieving 100% protection against a lethal wild-type ASFV (genotype II) challenge at all tested doses (103, 104, and 105 TCID50). Furthermore, a single vaccination (104 TCID50) provided protection for up to 2 months. These findings suggest that VNUA-ASFV-LAVL3 can be utilized as a promising safe and efficacious LAV candidate against the contemporary pandemic genotype II ASFV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
