Background: In the face of a sudden outbreak of COVID-19, it is essential to promote health communication, especially to reduce communication inequality. The paper targeted China to investigate whether social structural factors (education level and urban-rural differences) lead to the knowledge gap of COVID-19. Also, this paper examined whether media use, interpersonal communication, public communication, and perceived salience of information can influence the knowledge gap of COVID-19. Furthermore, this paper explored the strategies to promote communication equality.Methods: An online survey on COVID-19 knowledge and its influencing factors was conducted in February 2020, with a valid sample of 981 participants. The dependent variable was the total score of knowledge related to COVID-19. In addition to demographic variables such as education level and residence, the main explanatory variables include four independent variables: the use of different media (print media, radio, television, Internet), interpersonal communication, public communication, and perceived salience of information. This paper utilized descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis for data processing.Results: Descriptive statistics indicated that the Internet was the most frequent source of information for participants to obtain COVID-19 knowledge (M = 6.28, SD = 1.022). Bi-variate analysis and regression analysis presented that education level, Internet media use, and perceived salience of information predicted the difference in knowledge level. Hierarchical multiple regression showed that Internet media use significantly predicted differences in the level of knowledge related to COVID-19 among groups with different education levels.Conclusions: This study found a COVID-19 knowledge gap among the Chinese public, especially the digital knowledge gap. Education level, perceived salience of information, and internet media use can significantly predict the difference in COVID-19 knowledge level. In contrast, the use of traditional media such as newspaper, radio, and television, public communication, and interpersonal communication did not improve knowledge level. Internet media use and education level have an interactive effect on the formation of a COVID-19 knowledge gap. Abstract: To elucidate the inhibition mechanisms of hydroxyapatite (HA), a biological model mimicking the mineralization process was developed. The addition of 4% (v/v) dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in synthetic cartilage lymph (SCL) medium containing 2mM calcium and 3.42mM inorganic phosphate (Pi) at pH 7.6 and 37°C produced HA as matrix vesicles (MVs) under physiological conditions. Such a model has the advantage of monitoring the HA nucleation process without interfering with other processes at the cellular or enzymatic level. Turbidity measurements allowed us to follow the process of nucleation, whereas infrared spectra and X-ray diffraction permitted us to identify HA. Mineral formation induced by DMSO and by MVs in the SCL medium produced crystalline HA in a similar manner. The nucleation model served to evaluate the inhibition effects of ATP, GTP, UTP, ADP, ADP–ribose, AMP, and pyrophosphate (PPi). Here 10μM PPi, 100μM nucleotide triphosphates (ATP, GTP, UTP), and 1mM ADP inhibited HA formation directly, whereas 1mM ADP–ribose and 1mM AMP did not. This confirmed that the PPi group is a potent inhibitor of HA formation. Increasing the PPi concentration from 100μM to 1mM induced calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate. Complementary chromatic adaptation (CCA) provides cyanobacteria with the ability to shift between red and blue-green phenotypes that are optimized for absorption of different wavelengths of light. Controlled by the ratio of green to red light, this process results from differential expression of two groups of operons, many of which encode proteins involved in photosynthetic light harvesting antennae biogenesis. In the freshwater species Fremyella diplosiphon, the inverse regulation of these two classes is complex and occurs through different mechanisms. It also involves a two-component pathway that includes a phytochrome-class photoreceptor and the response regulator RcaC. Here we uncover the mechanism through which this system controls CCA by demonstrating that RcaC binds to the L Box within promoters of both classes of light-regulated operons. We provide functional evidence that complementary regulation of these operons occurs by RcaC's simultaneous activation and repression of transcription in red light. We identify rcaC and L Boxes in the genome of a marine cyanobacterium capable of CCA, suggesting widespread use of this control system. These results provide important insights into the long-standing enigma of CCA regulation and complete the first description of an entire two-component system controlled by a phytochrome-class photoreceptor. RcaC is the founding member of a group of large response regulators with complex domain combinations containing at least two receiver domains, an OmpR-class winged helix-turn-helix DNA binding domain, and a histidine phosphotransfer (HPt) domain. Within its two receiver and HPt domains, RcaC contains consensus phosphorylation sites at aspartates 51, 576 and histidine 316. RcaC operates in the pathway regulating transcription of genes encoding components of photosynthetic light harvesting antenna to changes in light colour. We show that phycocyanin gene expression requires RcaC. RcaC contributes to light regulation of phycoerythrin genes, but is not part of the second light regulation pathway controlling these genes. Substitutions at aspartate 51 or histidine 316 severely impaired light responsiveness while substitutions at aspartate 576 had little effect. Complete loss of light regulation, measured by phycocyanin gene expression, only occurred in the triple mutant. We conclude that aspartate 51 primarily controls light colour responsiveness and is regulated by histidine 316, and that these residues are likely phosphorylated in red light and dephosphorylated in green light. The carboxy-terminal receiver domain has a minor role in controlling this response. RcaC abundance is also light regulated and depends on aspartate 51 and histidine 316, but not aspartate 576. In mice and humans, there are two known members of the Huntingtin interacting protein 1 (HIP1) family, HIP1 and HIP1-related (HIP1r). Based on structural and functional data, these proteins participate in the clathrin trafficking network. The inactivation of Hip1 in mice leads to spinal, hematopoietic, and testicular defects. To investigate the biological function of HIP1r, we generated a Hip1r mutant allele in mice. Hip1r homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile without obvious morphological abnormalities. In addition, embryonic fibroblasts derived from these mice do not have gross abnormalities in survival, proliferation, or clathrin trafficking pathways. Altogether, this demonstrates that HIP1r is not necessary for normal development of the embryo or for normal adulthood and suggests that HIP1 or other functionally related members of the clathrin trafficking network can compensate for HIP1r absence. To test the latter, we generated mice deficient in both HIP1 and HIP1r. These mice have accelerated development of abnormalities seen in Hip1 -deficient mice, including kypholordosis and growth defects. The severity of the Hip1r/Hip1 double-knockout phenotype compared to the Hip1 knockout indicates that HIP1r partially compensates for HIP1 function in the absence of HIP1 expression, providing strong evidence that HIP1 and HIP1r have overlapping roles in vivo. The binding of salivary amylase to Streptococcus gordonii has previously been shown to involve a 20-kDa amylase-binding protein (AbpA). S. gordonii also releases an 82-kDa protein into the supernatant that binds amylase. To study this 82-kDa component, proteins were precipitated from bacterial culture supernatants by the addition of acetone or purified amylase. Precipitated proteins were separated by SDS–PAGE and transferred to a sequencing membrane. The P2 kDa band was then sequenced, yielding a 25 N-terminal amino acid sequence, CGFIFGRQLTADGSTMFGPTEDYP. Primers derived from this sequence were used in an inverse PCR strategy to clone the full-length gene from S. gordonii chromosomal DNA. An open reading frame of 1959 bp was noted that encoded a 652 amino acid protein having a predicted molecular mass of 80 kDa. The first 24 amino acid residues were consistent with a hydrophobic signal peptide, followed by a 25 amino acid N-terminal sequence that shared identity (24 of 25 residues) with the amino acid sequence of purified AbpB. The abpB gene from strains of S. gordonii was interrupted by allelic exchange with a 420-bp fragment of the abpB gene linked to an erythromycin cassette. The 82-kDa protein was not detected in supernatants from these mutants. These abpB mutants retained the ability to bind soluble amylase. Thus, AbpA, but not AbpB, appears sufficient to be the major receptor for amylase binding to the streptococcal surface. The role of AbpB in bacterial colonization remains to be elucidated. Optimizing the charge distribution of photocatalysts through halide ion doping has been recognized as an effective approach to enhance photocatalytic activity. Herein, the bromine doped rose-like Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 microspheres were prepared through a one-step hydrothermal process. The visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) revealed that the bromine doping led to a narrowed band gap of Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 and optimized band structure. In addition, bromine doping can achieve efficient separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Thus, the photodegradation efficiency of the antibiotic oxytetracycline (OTC) and the dye rhodamine B (RhB) were significantly improved over bromine doped rose-like Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 microspheres, which is 63.5% for OTC and 97.5% for RhB under visible light irradiation. The kinetic constants of the Br-Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 -2 material are 27.3 times for OTC and 156.2 times for RhB compared with those of pristine Bi 2 O 2 CO 3. The enhanced photocatalytic performance can be attributed to the optimized carrier separation ability and broadened range of light response. The possible intermediates were identified by mass spectrometry (MS), and the degradation pathways were determined. A gradual decrease in toxicity during degradation was found by the Toxicity Estimation Software Tool (T.E.S.T). This work provides a new idea to construct high-performance photocatalysts for organic pollutants degradation. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are widely used as important ingredients for other nitrogen‐containing molecules. Here, we report the sustainable production of amino acids from biomass‐derived hydroxy acids with high activity under visible‐light irradiation and mild conditions, using atomic ruthenium‐promoted cadmium sulfide (Ru1/CdS). On a metal basis, the optimized Ru1/CdS exhibits a maximal alanine formation rate of 26.0 molAla ⋅ gRu−1 ⋅ h−1, which is 1.7 times and more than two orders of magnitude higher than that of its nanoparticle counterpart and the conventional thermocatalytic process, respectively. Integrated spectroscopic analysis and density functional theory calculations attribute the high performance of Ru1/CdS to the facilitated charge separation and O−H bond dissociation of the α‐hydroxy group, here of lactic acid. The operando nuclear magnetic resonance further infers a unique "double activation" mechanism of both the CH−OH and CH3−CH−OH structures in lactic acid, which significantly accelerates its photocatalytic amination toward alanine. TiO2 with the merits of non‐toxicity, high stability, strong redox capability, and low cost, has garnered considerable attention in the fields of renewable energy. However, the practical application is limited by the rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, posing a challenge to enhance electron utilization without compromising catalytic activity. Herein, S‐scheme TiO2@Co(OH)F‐Pt heterojunction through a simple hydrothermal and photo‐deposition method is constructed. The experimental tests and theoretical computation indicate that Co(OH)F possesses a smaller work function and a more negative conduction band (CB) position, significantly accelerating the separation of photogenerated charge carriers. Furthermore, the built‐in electric field, band bending between TiO2 and Co(OH)F, and the electron sink of Pt nanoparticles, facilitate the reduction of protons to hydrogen. The as‐prepared TiO2@Co(OH)F‐Pt exhibits high‐performance solar hydrogen evolution with an evolution rate of 1401 µmol h−1. The apparent quantum yield (AQY) is determined to be 22.8% at a single wavelength of 365 nm. After reacting 12 h for three cycles, no noticeable performance degradation occurs, showing good stability of the catalyst. Modification and functionalization of porous aromatic framework (PAF) materials have emerged as crucial research directions in various fields. In this study, we employed a hydrothermal method to synthesize a carbon quantum dots (CQDs) solution. By loading different amounts of CQDs onto the surface of PAF-45 material through ultrasonic and hydrothermal treatments, we successfully formed CQDs/PAF-45 composite materials. The introduction of CQDs effectively transformed the hydrophobic nature of PAF-45 into a hydrophilic material, thereby overcoming the challenge of achieving efficient contact between PAF catalysts and reactants in aqueous solutions. In the photocatalytic degradation experiments of Rhodamine B (RhB), tetracycline, CQDs/PAF-45 composite materials surpassed that of the pristine PAF-45 material. Notably, the 1 wt% CQDs/PAF-45 composite material exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity, with degradation efficiencies for Rhodamine B, tetracycline, and phenol approximately 1.4 times, 1.5 times and 1.5 times higher than those of the PAF-45 material, respectively. Electrosynthesis coupled hydrogen production (ESHP) mostly involves catalyst reconstruction in aqueous phase, but accurately identifying and controlling the process is still a challenge. Herein, we modulated the electronic structure and exposed unsaturated sites of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) via ligand defect to promote the reconstruction of catalyst for azo electrosynthesis (ESA) coupled with hydrogen production overall reaction. The monolayer Ni‐MOFs achieved 89.8 % Faraday efficiency and 90.8 % selectivity for the electrooxidation of 1‐methyl‐1H‐pyrazol‐3‐amine (Pyr−NH2) to azo, and an 18.5‐fold increase in H2 production compared to overall water splitting. Operando X‐ray absorption fine spectroscopy (XAFS) and various in situ spectroscopy confirm that the ligand defect promotes the potential dependent dynamic reconstruction of Ni(OH)2 and NiOOH, and the reabsorption of ligand significantly lowers the energy barrier of rate‐determining step (*Pyr−NH to *Pyr−N). Age-associated decreases in follicle number and oocyte quality result in a decline in female fertility, which is associated with increased infertility. Granulosa cells play a major role in oocyte development and maturation both in vivo and in vitro. However, it is unclear whether a reduction in cryptochrome 1 (Cry1) expression contributes to granulosa cell senescence, and further exploration is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms. In this study, we investigated the role of Cry1, a core component of the molecular circadian clock, in the regulation of senescence in ovarian granulosa cells. Western blotting and qRT-PCR showed that Cry1 expression was downregulated in aged human ovarian granulosa cells and was correlated with age and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels. RNA-seq analysis suggested that ferritinophagy was increased after Cry1 knockdown in KGN cells. MDA, iron, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) assays were used to detect cellular ferritinophagy levels. Ferroptosis inhibitors, iron chelators, autophagy inhibitors, and nuclear receptor coactivator 4 (NCOA4) knockdown alleviated KGN cell senescence induced by Cry1 knockdown. Immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and ubiquitination assays indicated that Cry1 affected NCOA4 ubiquitination and degradation through HERC2, thereby affecting NCOA4-mediated ferritinophagy and causing granulosa cell senescence. KL201, a Cry1 stabilizer, enhanced ovarian function in naturally aged mice by reducing ferritinophagy. Our study reveals the potential mechanisms of action of Cry1 during ovarian aging and provides new insights for the clinical treatment of age-related fertility decline. The temporal response of bacterial community, especially that of bacteria with Fe(III) reducing ability, in flooded paddy soils to initial pH changes, is not well-documented. This work demonstrated variations in concentration of Fe species, bacterial activity and community succession in paddy soils with initial pH shift to acidic or alkaline level. The causal links of pH shift-induced bacterial community succession with Fe(III) reduction was also assessed. Results showed that soil initial pH shifts greatly influenced bacterial community and Fe(III) reduction. A soil pH shift from acidic to alkaline level enhanced bacterial abundance and dehydrogenase activity (DHA), which accordingly caused an increase in Fe(III) reducing ratio by 22.26% on day One of flooding. The stimulated putative Fe(III) reducing species, Bacillus and Solibacillus, caused stimulation of Fe(III) reduction with pH increase. However, there was continuous inhibition of Fe(III) reduction with a pH shift from alkaline to acidic, with Fe(III) reducing ratios decreased by 11.98–40.04%. The inhibited DHA and Fe(III) reducing bacteria were amenable for the suspension of Fe(III) reduction. This study suggests that bacterial activity and Fe(III) concentration, in responses to initial soil pH shift, are primarily responsible for pH shift-induced Fe(III) reduction in paddy soils. We investigated whether diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and arterial spin labeling (ASL) facilitated the assessment of serial alterations in persistent post-contrast acute kidney injury (PC-AKI). We randomly divided 24 rats into four PC-AKI groups (days 1, 3, 7, and 13, n = 6/group), with an additional six control animals. We conducted functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI), and arterial spin-labeling (ASL) analyses. Mean kurtosis (MK), axial kurtosis (Ka), mean diffusivity (MD), fractional anisotropy (FA), radial kurtosis (Kr), and renal blood flow (RBF) maps were normalized to baseline (prior to contrast injection) to calculate adjusted △RBF, △MK, △Ka, △MD, △FA, and △Kr values. We also investigated urinary neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL), serum cystatin C (CysC), aquaporin-2 (AQP2), hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1α), and histological indices. In the inner stripe of the outer medulla, when compared with controls, decreased △FA and △MD levels were observed on days 1, 3, and 7, and a distinct elevation in △MK and △Kr on days 1–13, and a persistent decrease in △RBF on days 1–13, and a prominent increase in △Ka on days 7 and 13 in PC-AKI animals (all p < 0.05). △Ka and △MK were positively correlated with AQP-2 (r = 0.8086, p < 0.0001 and r = 0.7314, p < 0.0001, respectively), and △RBF was highly correlated with HIF-1α (r = −0.7592, p < 0.0001). Moreover, both CysC and NGAL were significantly elevated in PC-AKI animals when compared with controls from days 1–13 (all p < 0.05). Renal histological data indicated severe tubular and glomerular injury at days 1–13 in all PC-AKI groups. ASL and DKI may be noninvasively and longitudinally used to detect PC-AKI and predict further outcomes. • Combining ASL and DKI could give one the opportunity to study PC-AKI and predict further outcomes. • Alterations of renal Mk, Ka, and RBF values after PC-AKI were useful to detect persistent renal impairment. • CysC and NGAL seems to be reliable markers for improving the identification of PC-AKI to PRD transition. Here we report a novel composite material Cs 4 PW 11 O 39 Fe/Si(Cs 4 PW 11 Fe/Si), which was prepared by combination of chemical etching and hydrothermal method. This composite material displays a superior photoelectric performance. A transient photocurrent density of 0.4 mA cm−2 and a maximum surface photovoltage of 0.043 mV as well as an maximum IPCE of 80.8% were obtained, much higher than those of the pristine p-Si or Cs 4 PW 11 Fe. The solar cell device ITO/Cs 4 PW 11 Fe/p-Si/Ag presents a PCE of 1.36% with a V oc of 0.78 V and a J sc of 1.27 mA cm−2 as well as a FF of 68.5%. The improvement of the photoelectric performance results from the "mastoid" structure on the surface of material and the formation of p-n heterojunction between n-Cs 4 PW 11 Fe and p-Si. The "mastoid" structure and p-n junction are favorable to increasing light absorption and facilitating photo-generated carriers's separation and transfer. • The Cs 4 PW 11 Fe/Si composite photoelectric material was first reported. • The Keggin type transition metal substituted heteropoly compounds were first introduced into the field of solar cell • A "mastoid" morphology of Cs 4 PW 11 Fe crystal was constructed on the surface of crystal Si to increase light absorption. • The remarkably enhanced photoelectric performance of Cs 4 PW 11 Fe/Si versus the pristine p-Si or Cs 4 PW 11 Fe was found. Biological nitrogen fixation can contribute to maintaining the nitrogen balance and reducing the risk of environmental pollution caused by nitrogen fertilizer application in flooded paddy soils. Microorganisms associated with microbial iron [Fe(III)] reduction are prevalent and presumed to be closely linked with biological nitrogen fixation in flooded paddy soils. The relationship between the nitrogen-fixing bacteria (NFB) and Fe(III)-reducing bacteria (FeRB) and their responses to organic carbon addition were investigated based on the metabolically active bacterial community in flooded paddy soils amended with/without glucose (CK: 0 mol C kg−1 soil; OC: 0.1 mol C kg−1 soil). Both putative NFBs and FeRBs were affiliated to the phyla Firmicutes and Proteobacteria, which were the two most abundant phyla in the metabolically active bacterial community. Glucose addition remarkably altered the community structures of the putative NFBs and FeRBs during a 40-day incubation, and the relative abundances of putative NFBs and FeRBs in the OC treatment increased by 0.21%–1.62% and 2.22%–14.82% relative to the CK treatment, respectively, during the later stage of incubation. The putative FeRBs co-occurred with NFBs and hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria, and the relative abundances of NFBs and hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria showed significant positive correlation with that of respiratory FeRBs. Some FeRBs could also be capable of nitrogen fixation and/or hydrogen oxidation. Thus, it might be feasible to enhance biological nitrogen fixation efficiency by promoting the metabolic activities of FeRBs (such as by adding glucose), which contribute directly to biological nitrogen fixation associated with nitrogen-fixing Fe(III) reducers and indirectly by reducing the suppression of hydrogen on nitrogen fixation associated with hydrogen-dependent Fe(III) reducers. Associative memories constructed and operating in the presence of big data offer an effective way to realize association mechanisms aimed at storing and recalling items. In this study, we develop a logic-driven model of two-level fuzzy associative memories augmented by autoencoding processing. It is composed of two functional modules. The first module of this architecture implements an efficient dimensionality reduction of the original high dimensional data with the use of an autoencoder. This helps achieve storing and completing the recall realized by a logic-oriented associative memory which constitutes the second module of the architecture. The optimization of the association matrices studied in the paper involves both gradient-based learning mechanisms and the algorithms of population-based optimization, i.e., particle swarm optimization (PSO) and differential evolution (DE). A suite of experimental studies is presented to quantify the performance of the proposed approach. Cathode material Li(Ni 0.5 Co 0.25 Mn 0.25) 1-x Zr x O 2 (x = 0, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03) and Li(Ni 0.5 Co 0.25-y Mn 0.25 Al y) 0.99 Zr 0.01 O 2 (y = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03) were synthesized by coprecipitation method. The structure and electrochemical properties of cathode materials were mainly studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), charge/discharge test, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results of XRD show that Zr doping and Al-Zr co-doping cannot destroy the crystal structure, and they are all beneficial to structural stability. Electrochemical results show that the appropriate amount of Zr4+ doping can improve the rate and cycle performance. However, there is no further increase in the rate performance and cycle stability when Co is replaced with Al. Because of the 3a site occupation of the doped ions, it is possible that the diffusion of lithium ions is hindered. And Al is low electrochemically inert. In particular, x = 0.01 exhibited the best rate performance and cycle stability in all samples. The specific discharge capacity of the material is 151.0 mAh/g at 1C, and it still up to 173.3 mAh/g at 0.1C after experiencing high-rate discharge. And the capacity retention rate is 87.53% at 0.1C after 45 cycles. When Al3+ and Zr4+ are co-doped, the performance of y = 0.01 material is the best. The specific discharge capacity at 0.1C, 0.2C, 0.5C, 1C and 0.1C are 182, 148.3, 123.5, 110.3 and 125.8 mAh/g, respectively. • Almost no one has made a positive electrode material co-doped with Al3+ and Zr4+. • Zr4+ doped materials are compared with Al3+-Zr4+ co-doped materials at characteristics. • The Zr4+ doped cathode materials were synthesized and resulted in an enhancement in the layer distance as well as better migration of lithium ions. • The initial discharge capacity of the material when the Zr4+ doping amount x = 0.01 was 199.0 mAh/g at 0.1 C. • Found that co-doping did not further improve the electrochemical properties of the material, probably due to the electrochemical inertness of Al. The present paper focused on how a third party's social status affects third‐party intervention to maintain social fairness. Study 1 adopted a quasi‐experimental design. Selecting high and low‐status members of real social groups, we observed that high‐status individuals intervened more forcibly and more frequently when assessing the fairness of players' behavior in a dictator game (DG). The manifestation of social status is generally divided into power and economic capital. In Study 2a, using the same DG punishment–compensation paradigm we randomly assigned the third party in the lab to high, medium, and low impact conditions, where their actions had relative multiplier effects on the resources retained by dictators and recipients. This tested whether the power to influence the situation would systematically affect third party's behavior. We found that greater influence predicted increased interventions. Study 2b investigated the influence of economic capital or intrinsic wealth on a third party's altruistic behavior by varying how much capital the third party had at their disposal to spend on punishment or recompensing. Having high capital predicted an increase in the size of penalty inflicted or compensation offered, but resource abundance had no effect on the likelihood that the third party would intervene. In conclusion, the paper showed that the social status of the third party truly does affect their altruistic interventions and the impact of social status on altruistic behaviors for maintaining fairness by the third party occurred primarily through the third parties' perception of their power. Furthermore, the influence of gain and loss contexts and social status on third‐party punishment and compensation were independent of each other. This study aims to develop a novel portable reversible thermochromic patch and evaluate its potential applications in temperature monitoring and indication. The film is based on the concept of electronic charge transfer thermochromic coatings, enabling accurate detection of high temperatures. Experimental results demonstrate that when the temperature of the monitored device's circuit reaches 70 °C or above, the color of the film changes from deep blue to colorless, indicating potential overheating in the power grid. Using salt spray corrosion testing and cycle performance testing, we validate the film's excellent corrosion resistance in harsh natural environments and its provision of reliable color indication. The film possesses portability and ease of attachment to various electrical devices and circuits requiring temperature sensing. By connecting the color information of the film to a computer system, we can achieve digital temperature monitoring, providing potential applications in future smart grid development. Circularly polarized light (CPL) detection has wide applications in many fields, where the anisotropy factor (gIph) is an important indicator to characterize the CPL detection performance. So far, many materials with high gIph have been reported, however, the exploration of the regulation of gIph is still in its infancy. Herein, two novel alternating chiral‐achiral cations intercalation‐type chiral hybrid perovskites (CHPs), named (R/S‐1‐phenylpropylamine)(propylamine)PbBr4 (1‐R/S), exhibit above room‐temperature (RT) polar‐phase transition, which greatly regulates the gIph value. The gIph of 1‐R is 0.04 in high‐temperature phase chiral non‐polar (P212121) by applying 5 V bias, interestingly, with the temperature decrease, the gIph value in low‐temperature phase chiral polar (P21) gradually increases (0.22@360K, 0.40@340K, 0.47@320K), and finally reaches a maximum of 0.5 at RT. Such value is not only the highest among 2D CHPs to date, but presents a 12.5‐fold amplification compared with 0.04. Further, this rare phenomenon should be attributed to the built‐in electric field induced by the polar photovoltaic effect, which sheds light on further obtaining CHPs with large gIph. Fusarium diseases, including corn root rot, sheath rot, stalk rot, and ear rot are frequently occurring in maize producing areas of China. Fusarium stalk rot and ear rot are the most serious diseases and often occur at the same time, but it is unclear whether there is a correlation between Fusarium composition and disease occurrence. This study was conducted to clarify the relationship between the two diseases. A total of 49 corn stalk rot samples were collected from 15 regions of eight provinces in China from 2016 to 2018. The pathogens were isolated and identified separately from stalks, ear stems, and kernels. The contents of the fumonisins (FB1 and FB2) were detected in kernels. The results showed that the main Fusarium species were found in corn kernels, ear stems and stalks at the same time. The results showed that 1201 strains of Fusarium verticillioides, 668 strains of Fusarium oxysporum, 574 strains of Fusarium graminearum species complex (FGSC), 318 strains of Fusarium equiseti, 95 strains of Fusarium proliferatum, and 40 strains of Fusarium subglutinans were isolated from 1470 corn kernels, 245 ear stems, and 1225 stalks randomly selected from 49 samples. The contamination rate of fumonisins in the 49 samples was 57.1% with an average content of 1.9 μg/g, of which four samples exhibited higher levels as set by the European Commission (4.0 μg/g). These results provide a certain association between stalk rot and ear rot and lay a foundation to study the relationships among Fusarium maize diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Arachis contains 80 species that carry many beneficial genes that can be utilized in the genetic improvement of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L. 2n = 4x = 40, genome AABB). Chromosome engineering is a powerful technique by which these genes can be transferred and utilized in cultivated peanut. However, their small chromosomes and insufficient cytological markers have made chromosome identification and studies relating to genome evolution quite difficult. The development of efficient cytological markers or probes is very necessary for both chromosome engineering and genome discrimination in cultivated peanut. Results: A simple and efficient oligonucleotide multiplex probe to distinguish genomes, chromosomes, and chromosomal aberrations of peanut was developed based on eight single-stranded oligonucleotides (SSONs) derived from repetitive sequences. High-resolution karyotypes of 16 Arachis species, two interspecific F1 hybrids, and one radiation-induced M1 plant were then developed by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) using oligonucleotide multiplex, 45S and 5S rDNAs, and genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) using total genomic DNA of A. duranensis (2n = 2x = 20, AA) and A. ipaënsis (2n = 2x = 20, BB) as probes. Genomes, chromosomes, and aberrations were clearly identifiable in the established karyotypes. All eight cultivars had similar karyotypes, whereas the eight wild species exhibited various chromosomal variations. In addition, a chromosome-specific SSON library was developed based on the single-copy sequence of chromosome 6A of A. duranensis. In combination with repetitive SSONs and rDNA FISH, the single-copy SSON library was applied to identify the corresponding A3 chromosome in the A. duranensis karyotype. Conclusions: The development of repetitive and single-copy SSON probes for FISH and GISH provides useful tools for the differentiation of chromosomes and identification of structural chromosomal rearrangement. It facilitates the development of high-resolution karyotypes and detection of chromosomal variations in Arachis species. To our knowledge, the methodology presented in this study demonstrates for the first time the correlation between a sequenced chromosome region and a cytologically identified chromosome in peanut. Background: Chromosomal variants play important roles in crop breeding and genetic research. The development of single-stranded oligonucleotide (oligo) probes simplifies the process of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and facilitates chromosomal identification in many species. Genome sequencing provides rich resources for the development of oligo probes. However, little progress has been made in peanut due to the lack of efficient chromosomal markers. Until now, the identification of chromosomal variants in peanut has remained a challenge. Results: A total of 114 new oligo probes were developed based on the genome-wide tandem repeats (TRs) identified from the reference sequences of the peanut variety Tifrunner (AABB, 2n = 4x = 40) and the diploid species Arachis ipaensis (BB, 2n = 2x = 20). These oligo probes were classified into 28 types based on their positions and overlapping signals in chromosomes. For each type, a representative oligo was selected and modified with green fluorescein 6-carboxyfluorescein (FAM) or red fluorescein 6-carboxytetramethylrhodamine (TAMRA). Two cocktails, Multiplex #3 and Multiplex #4, were developed by pooling the fluorophore conjugated probes. Multiplex #3 included FAM-modified oligo TIF-439, oligo TIF-185-1, oligo TIF-134-3 and oligo TIF-165. Multiplex #4 included TAMRA-modified oligo Ipa-1162, oligo Ipa-1137, oligo DP-1 and oligo DP-5. Each cocktail enabled the establishment of a genome map-based karyotype after sequential FISH/genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) and in silico mapping. Furthermore, we identified 14 chromosomal variants of the peanut induced by radiation exposure. A total of 28 representative probes were further chromosomally mapped onto the new karyotype. Among the probes, eight were mapped in the secondary constrictions, intercalary and terminal regions; four were B genome-specific; one was chromosome-specific; and the remaining 15 were extensively mapped in the pericentric regions of the chromosomes. Conclusions: The development of new oligo probes provides an effective set of tools which can be used to distinguish the various chromosomes of the peanut. Physical mapping by FISH reveals the genomic organization of repetitive oligos in peanut chromosomes. The knowledge on the intrinsic distinctions of the elements in single-atom catalyzed PMS activation is, however, relatively in lack. In this work, via a facile one-step method, three representative elements of Fe, Co, and Cu were configured in a metal − N 4 structure and anchored on N-doped carbon matrix with similar composition and structure. The atomic dispersity of the metal centers was experimentally substantiated by electronic microscopic technique in atomic scale and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. All these single-atom metal centers exhibit high activity in PMS activation for selective degradation of the organic pollutants, while the durability of the single-atom metal centers is vastly distinct as examined in continuous flow-mode. The water treatment capacity is in an order of Co − N 4 ≈ Fe − N 4 ≫ Cu − N 4 for the elimination of 0.1 mM 4-chlorophenol from water. Based on the analysis of the qunching effect by various probe molecules and electron spin resonance spectra at various reaction conditions, the high-valent Co(IV) O species is proposed to be the predominant active species for pollutant degradation in Co − N 4 catalyzed PMS activation. To explore a machine learning model for the early prediction of acute kidney injury (AKI) and to screen the related factors affecting new-onset AKI in the ICU. A retrospective analysis was performed used the MIMIC-III data source. New onset of AKI defined based on the serum creatinine changed. We included 19 variables for AKI assessment using four machine learning models: support vector machines, logistic regression, and random forest. and XGBoost, using accuracy, specificity, precision, recall, F1 score, and AUROC (area under the ROC curve) to evaluate model performance. The four models predicted new-onset AKI 3–6–9–12 h ahead. The SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP) value is used to evaluate the feature importance of the model. We finally respectively extracted 1130 AKI patients and non-AKI patients from the MIMIC-III database. With the extension of the early warning time, the prediction performance of each model showed a downward trend, but the relative performance was consistent. The prediction performance comparison of the four models showed that the XGBoost model performed the best in all evaluation indicators in all the time point at new-onset AKI 3–6–9–12 h ahead (accuracy 0.809 vs 0.78 vs 0.744 vs 0.741, specificity 0.856 vs 0.826 vs 0.797 vs 0.787, precision 0.842 vs 0.81 vs 0.775 vs 0.766, recall 0.759 vs 0.734 vs 0.692 vs 0.694, Fl score 0.799 vs 0.769 vs 0.731 vs 0.729, AUROC 0.892 vs 0.857 vs 0.827 vs 0.818). In the prediction of AKI 6, 9 and 12 h ahead, the importance of creatinine, platelets, and height was the most important based on SHapley. The machine learning model described in this study can predict AKI 3–6–9–12 h before the new-onset of AKI in ICU. In particular, platelet plays an important role. The new-onset of AKI in ICU is a common and important problem, which early be identified the risk of AKI can improve patients' outcomes. We explored MIMIC-III and determined the exact time point of occurrence of AKI as the basis for the new-onset of AKI in ICU. XGBoost model performed the best prediction in all the time point at new-onset AKI 3–6–9–12 h ahead. A highly efficient Z‐scheme photocatalytic system constructed with 1D CdS and 2D CoS2 exhibited high photocatalytic hydrogen‐evolution activity of 5.54 mmol h−1 g−1 with an apparent quantum efficiency of 10.2 % at 420 nm. In this study, Sn-BiOCl/Bi 2 WO 6 composite was constructed by tin chloride etching to investigate the synergy of heterojunction and metal doping toward the elevated of photogenerated carrier' separation efficiency. The Sn2+/Sn4+ redox couple and heterojunction interface promotes the charges separation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, leading to the Sn-BiOCl/Bi 2 WO 6 exhibits 2.75 and 1.95 times of photodegradation rates towards rhodamine B (RhB) compared to Bi 2 WO 6 and BiOCl/Bi 2 WO 6. Meanwhile, the Sn-BiOCl/Bi 2 WO 6 behaves photocatalytic activation effect on bicarbonate and sulfite to boost excessive ROS generation during the process of photocatalytic degradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP). Furthermore, the possible RhB and CIP photodegradation pathways over Sn-BiOCl/Bi 2 WO 6 were further explored by MS spectra. For a set of positive integers A ⊆ [ n ] , an r -coloring of A is rainbow sum-free if it contains no rainbow Schur triple. In this paper we initiate the study of the rainbow Erdős-Rothschild problem in the context of sum-free sets, which asks for the subsets of [ n ] with the maximum number of rainbow sum-free r -colorings. We show that for r = 3 , the interval [ n ] is optimal, while for r ≥ 8 , the set [ ⌊ n / 2 ⌋ , n ] is optimal. We also prove a stability theorem for r ≥ 4. The performance of photocatalytic reduction CO 2 to CH 3 OH is intimately tied to the photogenerated electron density of the active center, because CH 3 OH formation involves a 6-electron transfer process. However, the random migration of photocarriers in the photocatalysts is severely not conducive to the directional delivery and enrichment of photogenerated electrons to active sites, leading to poor photocatalytic activity for CO 2 to CH 3 OH. Herein, we reported a coordination environment engineered Pr single-atom catalyst for boosting the photogenerated electron density of the active sites, achieving the high-efficiency photoreduction of CO 2 to CH 3 OH. The carbon nitride (CN) supported Pr single-atom with oxygen coordination was designed via a three-step pyrolysis process. Then, the engineered oxygen coordination configuration for the Pr single-atom (Pr 1 -N 4 O 2) was successfully achieved. Importantly, this Pr 1 -N 4 O 2 sites can induce photogenerated electrons more easily to accumulate on the Pr atom as compared to the reference catalyst of the Pr atom without oxygen coordination (Pr 1 -N 6). Moreover, the formed atomically dispersed Pr 1 -N 4 O 2 active centers with ultra-high Pr loading (21.05 wt%) can promote CO 2 adsorption and activation, and provide a high density of active sites for CO 2 photoreduction. As a result, the optimized Pr 1 -N 4 O 2 /CN exhibited a boosted photoreduction of CO 2 to CH 3 OH activity (511.1 μmol g−1 h−1), which was up to 28.9 and 1.9 times higher than those of CN (17.7 μmol g−1 h−1) and Pr 1 -N 6 /CN (274.1 μmol g−1 h−1), and preferable to most reported work under similar catalytic conditions. Our findings can provide a fresh prospect for developing innovative SACs to enhance the photoreduction of CO 2 to CH 3 OH activity. Rebaudioside M (RM) is an attractive target for developing next-generation sweeteners due to its exceptional sweetness, up to 350 times sweeter than sucrose, and its non-caloric nature. However, its low natural abundance makes the traditional plant extraction method neither cost-effective nor environmentally sustainable. This study presents a fusion enzyme design of UGT76G1 and UGT91C1, both UDP-dependent glycosyltransferases (UTGs), to produce RM from naturally abundant rebaudioside A in a cascade reaction. The fusion enzyme was produced by Pichia pastoris with a yield of ∼25 mg purified protein per liter of culture, displaying optimal activity at ∼42°C and pH 7.0. It was found that a peptide linker consisting of three repeats of GGGGS enhanced substrate channeling and the synthesis rate of RM by 1.8-fold. Intracellular overexpression of the fusion enzyme in P. pastoris cells demonstrated higher catalytic efficiency, thermostability, and recyclability than mixed cells expressing UGT76G1 or UGT91C1 separately, or mixed purified enzymes. Despite the high probability of glaucoma-related blindness, its cause is not fully understood and there is no efficient therapeutic strategy for neuroprotection. Vascular factors have been suggested to play an important role in glaucoma development and progression. Previously, we have proven the neuroprotective effects of pituitary adenylate-cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) eye drops in an inducible, microbeads model in rats that is able to reproduce many clinically relevant features of human glaucoma. In the present study, we examined the potential protective effects of PACAP1-38 on the retinal vasculature and the molecular changes in hypoxia. Ocular hypertension was induced by injection of microbeads into the anterior chamber, while control rats received PBS. PACAP dissolved in vehicle (1 µg/drop) or vehicle treatment was started one day after the injections for four weeks three times a day. Retinal degeneration was assessed with optical coherence tomography (OCT), and vascular and molecular changes were assessed by immunofluorescence labeling. HIF1-α and VEGF-A protein levels were measured by Western blot. OCT images proved severe retinal degeneration in the glaucomatous group, while PACAP1-38 eye drops had a retinoprotective effect. Vascular parameters were deteriorated and molecular analysis suggested hypoxic conditions in glaucoma. PACAP treatment exerted a positive effect against these alterations. In summary, PACAP could prevent the severe damage to the retina and its vasculature induced by ocular hypertension in a microbeads model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Disrupting the symmetrical electron distribution of single‐atomic Fe sites is proposed as an effective strategy for improving the intrinsic activity in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Herein asymmetric N, P‐coordinated single‐atomic Fe sites with Fe2P nanoclusters/nanoparticles on porous carbon nanosheets (FePNC) are constructed by a soft‐template self‐sacrificing pyrolysis. The synchrotron X‐ray absorption spectroscopy confirms the coexistence of FeN3P1 moieties by the coordination of Fe atom with three nitrogen atoms and one phosphorus atom, and a small amount of Fe2P nanoclusters/nanoparticles. Benefiting from the unique asymmetric electronic and geometric configurations, the resultant FePNC catalyst exhibits excellent ORR activity with half‐wave potential of 0.76 V (0.5 m H2SO4) and 0.90 V (0.1 m KOH), and good Zn–air battery performance. Theoretical analysis reveals that the synergistic effect of P coordination and Fe2P nanoclusters induces asymmetrical electron redistribution of single‐atomic Fe sites and thus optimize the absorption strength toward the ORR intermediates, which contribute to the improved ORR activity. Introducing sulfur functionalities is reported as an efficacious route to regulate the electron distribution of single‐atomic Fe sites for improving the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity, however, it remains controversial about the role of type of sulfur functionalities in enhancing the ORR activity. Herein, this study revisits the role of sulfur functionalities in regulating the electron distribution of single‐atomic Fe sites by the construction of single‐atomic Fe‐N4 sites with sulfur functionalities (FeSNC) using sulfur‐containing molecules with different molecular structures. X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and theoretical calculations confirm that thiophene S and oxidized S both possess the electron‐donating properties for regulating the electronic distribution of Fe‐N4 sites, which is beneficial to weaken the adsorption of the ORR intermediates. As expected, the optimal FeSNC has attractive ORR activity with half‐potential of 0.76 V in 0.5 m H2SO4 and 0.91 V in 0.1 m KOH along with remarkable Zn‐air battery performance. Thermodynamically favorable electrooxidation of organics coupled with hydrogen production as an alternative to overall water splitting is rapidly developing due to low energy consumption and high value. But understanding the relationship between catalyst reconstruction and performance in depth remains a challenge. Herein, DFT calculations are used as a theoretical guide to adjust the local coordination environment and electronic structure of Ni3S2 by Fe doping, which promotes the self‐reconstruction of catalyst and nitrile evolution reaction performance. The overall reaction of benzylamine electrooxidation coupled with hydrogen production achieves a 14.5‐fold improvement in hydrogen production compared to water electrolysis at the same potential, almost completely converting benzylamine to high‐value benzonitrile (99% product yield). In situ spectroscopy and X‐ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy demonstrate that the excellent electrocatalytic performance due to Fe doping induces surface self‐reconstruction of Ni3S2 to NiOOH at low potential, and significantly reduces the rate‐determining step energy barriers for CN bonds to CN bonds. Organic–inorganic lead halides have recently emerged as promising alternatives to conventional optoelectronic materials, considering their intriguing physical properties. However, organic–inorganic lead halides featuring chirality are seldom explored. Here, a pair of enantiomorphic organic–inorganic hybrid semiconducting lead halides, (R‐C5H14N2)PbBr4 (1R) and (S‐C5H14N2)PbBr4 (2S), were successfully obtained with the templating of chiral amines. These compounds adopt distinct one‐dimensional infinite quantum helices formed by edge‐shared transformative lead bromide octahedra. Notably, 1R and 2S present mirror circular dichroism (CD) signals due to the chirality transfer of the enantiopure amines. Furthermore, 1R and 2S exhibit phase‐matchable quadratic nonlinear response and typical semiconducting behaviours. Human society has evolved to allow third parties—the court system, parents or other societal arbitrators—to punish norm violators and compensate victims. Few studies explore the effect of stress or time pressure on a third‐party judge. Under time pressure, people will likely show a more instinctual reaction or judgment style. We investigated third‐party punishment and compensation within the context of unfairly shared losses and gains in a dictator game under time pressure. Our results show that under no time pressure, participants were inclined to punish dictators who unfairly split windfall gains; however, participants chose to compensate victims more than punish the norm‐violating dictators in the context of unfairly shared losses. With added time pressure, third‐parties were disposed to inflict punishment upon the dictator in both the gain and loss contexts—punishment became the action of choice. Our results shed light on the way observed behavior and stress affect social cognition and decision making in the context of altruistic social interventions and the enforcement of social norms. Inorganic–organic hybrid perovskites, especially two‐dimensional (2D) layered halide perovskites, have attracted significant attention due to their unique structures and attractive optoelectronic properties, which open up a great opportunity for next‐generation photosensitive devices. Herein, we report a new 2D bilayered inorganic–organic hybrid perovskite, (C6H13NH3)2(NH2CHNH2)Pb2I7 (HFA, where C6H13NH3+ is hexylaminium and NH2CHNH2+ is formamidinium), which exhibits a remarkable photoresponse under broadband light illumination. Structural characterizations demonstrate that the 2D perovskite structure of HFA is constructed by alternant stacking of inorganic lead iodide bilayered sheets and organic hexylaminium layers. Optical absorbance measurements combined with density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that HFA is a direct band gap semiconductor with a narrow band gap (Eg) of ≈2.02 eV. Based on these findings, photodetectors based on HFA crystal wafer are fabricated, which exhibit fascinating optoelectronic properties including large on/off current ratios (over 103), fast response speeds (τrise=310 μs and τdecay=520 μs) and high responsivity (≈0.95 mA W−1). Abstract Development of cell lines for biotherapeutic protein production requires screening large numbers of clones to identify and isolate high producing ones. As such, stable cell line generation is a time- and resource-intensive process. There is an increasing need to enhance the selection efficiency of high-yielding clonal cell lines for cell line development projects by using high throughput screening of live cells for markers predictive of productivity. Single cell deposition by fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) is a commonly performed method for cloning to generate cell lines derived from a single recombinant cell. We have developed a novel strategy to identify higher productivity cells at the FACS step by leveraging a simple viable cell staining method that detects mitochondrial membrane potential (Ψm), a key indicator of cellular metabolic activity. We chose a dual-emission dye (Mito-ID, Enzo Life Sciences) that fluoresces green and orange in living cells with the intensity of the orange fluorescence being dependent on the cells Ψm status. Using available clonal cell lines with known productivity, or stable transfectant pools, we evaluated Ψm of cell populations with Mito-ID dye. We determined that the intensity of the Ψm fluorescent signal correlates with the known fed-batch titers of the producer clones, and that cell sorting based on an optimal Ψm staining intensity selectively enriches for higher producing clones from nonclonal transfectant pools. These clones are phenotypically stable for recombinant protein production. Furthermore, the strategy has been successfully applied to identifying higher producing cell lines for a range of antibody molecular formats.
