117. Modifying Sadov's Empirical Formula for Group-Hole Blasting in Open-Pit Mine Conditions.

Abstract

Sadov's formula is widely used to solve the seismic wave velocity problem of single-hole blasting in calculations in blasting engineering. There is a significant difference between the calculated results for group-hole blasting and the actual situation in an open-pit mine. The modification and application of Sadov's formula for group-hole blasting in open-pit mines is discussed in this paper. First, the insufficiencies of Sadov's formula under the condition of group-hole blasting in an open-pit mine are analyzed. A theoretical derivation method for modifying the maximum charge coefficient is proposed. Second, blasting vibration data of the Hejing limestone mine of Guangxi Huarun Cement (Pingnan) Co. Ltd., obtained by onsite monitoring, are analyzed. The vibration data of the single-hole blasting are processed by linear superposition and fitting. The difference between the superposition results of the same single-hole vibration signal and different single-hole vibration signals and the onsite monitoring data is compared and analyzed. A modified expression of Sadov's formula is obtained. The onsite blasting parameters of the group-hole blasting are verified. Finally, the safety distance problem of the grouting curtain in blasting construction is solved using the modified Sadov's formula. The results show that the modification scheme of maximum charge Q in Sadov's formula is determined through theoretical analysis and formula derivation. The peak vibration velocity of the group hole blasting suitable for the Pingnan mining area is deduced, and the correctness of the peak vibration velocity is verified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The Q/B value is defined as the food consumption (Q) by a population over a period of time (conventionally a year) relative to its biomass (B). The Q/B values of 85 fish species were calculated by two empirical models based on the fish caught during three fishery resource surveys from April 2020 to April 2021 in the Pearl River Estuary, as well as determination of the mean annual habitat temperature (Tc), asymptotic weight (W8), the aspect ratio of caudal fin (A) and referencing the food types. The results showed that among the demersal fish species in the Pearl River Estuary, 20 small-scale fish species swimming by caudal fin propulsion have an average Q/B value of 14.12 and an average food consumption of 177.06 kg/km2·a; while 42 medium-large-scale fish species swimming by caudal fin propulsion have an average Q/B value of 11.70 and an average food consumption of 745.29 kg/km2·a. The average Q/B value of 8 small-scale fish species swimming not by caudal fin propulsion is 16.29, and their average food consumption was 119.73 kg/km2·a. The average Q/B value of 15 medium-large-scale fish species swimming not by caudal fin propulsion is 12.75, and their average food consumption is 134.64 kg/km2·a. The Q/B values and food consumption of these 85 demersal fish species can be useful for constructing Ecopath (trophic) models and studying the nutrient structure of marine ecosystems in the Pearl River Estuary and even the northern South China Sea. Abstract

The scanning trajectory method of laser cladding has a great influence on the quality of the clad layer. Herein, the effects of single spiral and double spiral trajectories on the clad morphology, temperature gradient and solidification rate of the Fe-based powder clad at different solidification positions during the injection of the cladding powder on a 45 steel elongated slender shaft when cladding with a high power diode laser (HPDL) are investigated. A three-dimensional (3-D) mathematical model was developed. The temperature variation curves of the substrate and the molten coating were obtained by the birth-death cell technique. The influence of the output parameters on the coating quality was analysed and discussed. In order to verify the reliability of the model, experimental tests were carried out to verify the surface quality and tissue morphology of the molten coating under the two scanning methods. The results show that the agreement between the theoretical calculation results and the experimental results is good. In addition, both scanning methods generate pores at the coating laps. The above conclusions are further confirmed by the dimensional change analysis. For this reason, this paper serves as a good guideline for the melting and cladding process of slender shafts. Abstract

38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 622-626, Thermomechanical loads constitute an important stressor affecting the durability of photovoltaic (PV) modules. Because materials with very different coefficient of thermal expansion are stacked together at a pre-set pressure and temperature in the module lamination process, typically in the range of 140 to 160 C, stresses are induced in the module assembly after cooldown to room temperature. The purpose of our study was to understand the potential of a lower lamination temperature to reduce thermomechanical fatigue of PV modules, including effects both on the solder bond and the interconnect ribbons. This was done for two different encapsulants, EVA and POE. For this purpose, a three-dimensional FEM model was applied, using a temperature profile that accounted both for lamination and accelerated thermal cycling according to the IEC 61215 standard. With respect to thermomechanical fatigue, results show that a reduced lamination temperature lowers the subsequent thermomechanical stresses experienced both in the interconnect ribbons and the solder joint. Because degradation by means of thermomechanical fatigue of the cell interconnects is typically found among the main degradation modes in photovoltaic modules, our study concludes that a reduced lamination temperature has potential to extend the module lifetime in the field.

Abstract

Recent publications have argued that there are potentially serious consequences for researchers in recognising distinct genera in the terminal fusarioid clade of the family Nectriaceae. Thus, an alternate hypothesis, namely a very broad concept of the genus Fusarium was proposed. In doing so, however, a significant body of data that supports distinct genera in Nectriaceae based on morphology, biology, and phylogeny is disregarded. A DNA phylogeny based on 19 orthologous protein-coding genes was presented to support a very broad concept of Fusarium at the F1 node in Nectriaceae. Here, we demonstrate that re-analyses of this dataset show that all 19 genes support the F3 node that represents Fusarium sensu stricto as defined by F. sambucinum (sexual morph synonym Gibberella pulicaris). The backbone of the phylogeny is resolved by the concatenated alignment, but only six of the 19 genes fully support the F1 node, representing the broad circumscription of Fusarium. Furthermore, a re-analysis of the concatenated dataset revealed alternate topologies in different phylogenetic algorithms, highlighting the deep divergence and unresolved placement of various Nectriaceae lineages proposed as members of Fusarium. Species of Fusarium s. str. are characterised by Gibberella sexual morphs, asexual morphs with thin- or thick-walled macroconidia that have variously shaped apical and basal cells, and trichothecene mycotoxin production, which separates them from other fusarioid genera. Here we show that the Wollenweber concept of Fusarium presently accounts for 20 segregate genera with clear-cut synapomorphic traits, and that fusarioid macroconidia represent a character that has been gained or lost multiple times throughout Nectriaceae. Thus, the very broad circumscription of Fusarium is blurry and without apparent synapomorphies, and does not include all genera with fusarium-like macroconidia, which are spread throughout Nectriaceae (e.g., Cosmosporella, Macroconia, Microcera). Abstract

A kind of energy crops (Arundo donax) was selected to investigate effects of pyrolysis heating rate (PHR) on char structure and CO2 gasification reactivity. The gasification reactivity and microstructure of char obtained at various PHR were explored. Besides, the surface morphology, microcrystalline and aromatic structure of bio-chars were analyzed via scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. The results reveal that the main thermal decomposition of Arundo donax occurs in the range of 180 °C - 570 °C. The surface of chars obtained at rapid pyrolysis appears to be rougher than that under slow pyrolysis. Rapid pyrolysis results in high temperature gradient inside and outside the particles, leading to condensation of free radical fragments in a short time. The bio-char obtained at rapid heating rate has more structural defects and imperfections of the carbon crystallites. Besides, the crystallization size, graphitization and aromatization degree decrease of bio-char were inhibited as the PHR increased. In addition, some H2O-soluble K was volatilized with the increase of heating rate, and a small part was converted to NH4Ac-soluble K during pyrolysis. Therefore, the gasification reactivity of chars obtained from rapid pyrolysis rate was higher than that from the low pyrolysis rate, which was associated with the formation of alkali metal distribution and micro-areas structure evolution in the bio-chars., QC 20210319

Abstract

TianQin is a planned space-based gravitational wave (GW) observatory consisting of three Earth-orbiting satellites with an orbital radius of about $10^5 , { m km}$. The satellites will form an equilateral triangle constellation the plane of which is nearly perpendicular to the ecliptic plane. TianQin aims to detect GWs between $10^{-4} , { m Hz}$ and $1 , { m Hz}$ that can be generated by a wide variety of important astrophysical and cosmological sources, including the inspiral of Galactic ultra-compact binaries, the inspiral of stellar-mass black hole binaries, extreme mass ratio inspirals, the merger of massive black hole binaries, and possibly the energetic processes in the very early universe and exotic sources such as cosmic strings. In order to start science operations around 2035, a roadmap called the 0123 plan is being used to bring the key technologies of TianQin to maturity, supported by the construction of a series of research facilities on the ground. Two major projects of the 0123 plan are being carried out. In this process, the team has created a new-generation $17 , { m cm}$ single-body hollow corner-cube retro-reflector which was launched with the QueQiao satellite on 21 May 2018; a new laser-ranging station equipped with a $1.2 , { m m}$ telescope has been constructed and the station has successfully ranged to all five retro-reflectors on the Moon; and the TianQin-1 experimental satellite was launched on 20 December 2019 - the first-round result shows that the satellite has exceeded all of its mission requirements.
