Abstract: The effects of grain size on nonlinear dielectric properties of as-deposited SrTiO3(STO) thin films were studied by using interdigital capacitor. C-axis-oriented STO thin films with different grain size were deposited onto interdigital electrodes made from YBa2Cu3O7−x thin films by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The grain size of as-deposited STO thin films increased with substrate temperature, and reached a maximum value at 700 °C. With further increase of substrate temperature, the grain size decrease rapidly because of the negative oxygen supersaturation and the high nucleation density. The nonlinear dielectric properties measurements showed to be highly correlated with the grain size of STO thin films; the zero-bias dielectric constant, the dielectric dissipation, and the tunability decreased with the decrease of the grain size. In eukaryotes, spliceosomes catalyze the splicing of pre-mRNA to mature mRNA. As the core subunit of U2 spliceosome, splicing factor SF3b4 plays not only a crucial role in the splicing process, but also a role in transcription, translation, and cell signal transduction, and participates in the regulation of cell cycle, cell differentiation, and immune deficiency. In recent years, more and more research studies on SF3b4-related diseases, such as Nager syndrome and cancer, have been conducted. It has been found that SF3b4 mutations led to abnormal cell growth and were involved in the development and occurrence of these diseases. In this review, the diseases, mainly congenital diseases and tumors, in which SF3B4 is involved and the pathogenesis of them were summarized, aiming to provide a better understanding of the roles of SF3B4 in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in the future.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics and treatment effect between bilateral (bi-) and unilateral (uni-) sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL)., Method: Four hundred and eighty cases of SSNHL were retrospective study, which were divided into two groups of bi-SSNHL (n = 40) and uni-SSNHL (n = 440). Clinical characteristics and treatment effects were compared of the two groups., Result: The incidence rate of bi-SSNHL was 8.3 percent and uni-SSNHL was 91.7 percent of all patients with SSNHL. Bi-SSNHL occurs more commonly in patients of old age, diabetes mellitus, and lipid panes abnormalities compared to uni-SSNHL. Twenty-eight ears in the bi-SSNHL group showed hearing recovery (35%), compared with 56.4 percent of patients with uni-SSNHL., Conclusion: Bi-SSNHL and uni-SSNHL may have a completely different clinical characteristics and treatment effect, that implies a different pathophysiology and prognosis. Recognition their different clinical characteristics and treatment effect between bilateral and unilateral SSNHL can help in counseling and managing the patients and correctly evaluate the prognosis.

The entrance surface doses (ESDs) of six commonly performed diagnostic X-ray projections were surveyed in four public hospitals, and an experimental formula was derived for estimating the ESD from the exposure parameters of different projections. In-phantom measurements of the organ doses were also performed for the six projections, and the effective doses were evaluated using different sets of tissue weighting factors recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). For the chest radiograph, compared with the low tube potential technique, lower ESD was observed in the high tube potential technique; however, no significant difference of effective doses was found between the two techniques. Except for the pelvis radiography, the effective doses of five other projections evaluated with the tissue weighting factors (w(T)) recommended by ICRP publication 103 were generally higher than those evaluated with the factors recommended by ICRP publication 60.
