- Abstract
The burgeoning field of microbiome research has profoundly reshaped our comprehension of human health, particularly highlighting the potential of probiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as therapeutic interventions. While the benefits of traditional probiotics are well-recognized, the efficacy and mechanisms remain ambiguous, and FMT’s long-term effects are still being investigated. Recent advancements in high-throughput sequencing have identified gut microbes with significant health benefits, paving the way for next-generation probiotics (NGPs). These NGPs, engineered through synthetic biology and bioinformatics, are designed to address specific disease states with enhanced stability and viability. This review synthesizes current research on NGP stability, challenges in delivery, and their applications in preventing and treating chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases. We explore the physiological characteristics, safety profiles, and mechanisms of action of various NGP strains while also addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by their integration into clinical practice. The potential of NGPs to revolutionize microbiome-based therapies and improve clinical outcomes is immense, underscoring the need for further research to optimize their efficacy and ensure their safety.

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, with 17,000 islands of varying sizes and elevations, from lowlands to very high mountains, stretching more than 5000 km eastward from Sabang in Aceh to Merauke in Papua. Although occupying only 1.3% of the world’s land area, Indonesia possesses the third-largest rainforest and the second-highest level of biodiversity, with very high species diversity and endemism. However, during the last two decades, Indonesia has been known as a country with a high level of deforestation, a producer of smoke from burning forests and land, and a producer of carbon emissions. The aim of this paper is to review the environmental history and the long process of Indonesian forest management towards achieving environmental sustainability and community welfare. To do this, we analyze the milestones of Indonesian forest management history, present and future challenges, and provide strategic recommendations toward a viable Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) system. Our review showed that the history of forestry management in Indonesia has evolved through a long process, especially related to contestation over the control of natural resources and supporting policies and regulations. During the process, many efforts have been applied to reduce the deforestation rate, such as a moratorium on permitting primary natural forest and peat land, land rehabilitation and soil conservation, environmental protection, and other significant regulations. Therefore, these efforts should be maintained and improved continuously in the future due to their significant positive impacts on a variety of forest areas toward the achievement of viable SFM. Finally, we conclude that the Indonesian government has struggled to formulate sustainable forest management policies that balance economic, ecological, and social needs, among others, through developing and implementing social forestry instruments, developing and implementing human resource capacity, increasing community literacy, strengthening forest governance by eliminating ambiguity and overlapping regulations, simplification of bureaucracy, revitalization of traditional wisdom, and fair law enforcement.

The high prevalence of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) is causing significant concern in healthcare systems. Antibacterial urinary catheters have been developed to prevent CAUTIs in clinical application. In this work, a copper sulfide nanorod (CuS NR)-embedded urinary catheter (CuS/UC) was designed as an antibacterial urinary catheter with photothermal sterilization. The CuS NRs with low cytotoxicity were synthesized via the hydrothermal method. The CuS NRs were embedded into urinary catheters at different weight percentages. The CuS/UC exhibited homogenous surface roughness, low wettability, hydrophobicity, and low adhesiveness, promoting minimal interaction with bacteria and healthy cells. Under near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, the 0.8 weight percentage of CuS NRs in the urinary catheter (0.8CuS/UC) reached a temperature of 67.4 °C, demonstrating its photothermal antibacterial activity and suitability for catheter sterilization. Agar plate test verified that CuS/UCs exhibited a superior photothermal antibacterial activity against both Gram-negative Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Gram-positive Streptococcus aureus (S. aureus). Moreover, the 0.8CuS/UC exhibited excellent biocompatibility and anti-cell adhesion properties. The 0.8CuS/UC with photothermal performance, excellent biocompatibility, and anti-cell adhesion properties demonstrated its potential as a photothermal antibacterial catheter for clinical applications. Learning activities organized by the school during the New Normal period were using social media assistance, such as whats app, zoom, google classroom, You Tube, Edmodo. This learning model is considered effective in breaking the chain of the spread of the corona virus. Learning and education patterns at an early age are filled with playing, running, and filled with joy in the learning process. Therefore, it takes a pattern of intense parenting and mentoring from parents to assist their children in taking online learning. Because in early childhood, it is the most important stage for their growth and development towards adult humans. This article was written using a literature study research method. The results showed that parenting patterns and mentoring can be done by parents in accompanying online learning. Among them can be done in the form of giving attention, supervision, and always coordinating with the school and other students' parents so that their children can learn independently and reflect Islamic values according to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith.

Introduction. Non-viral etiology of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) now needs attention. Hepatocellular carcinoma which was caused by hepatitis B and hepatitis C could be controlled in the national program, while HCC from non-B non-C etiology has become a further concern with the with the increased of metabolic syndrome. Serum alpha-fetoprotein is a tumor marker commonly used for screening for HCC in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC). However, in HCC patients with non-viral etiology, AFP serum tends to be normal. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of AFP serum based in HCC and LC patient with non-viral etiology and to evaluate the factors associated with elevated AFP. Methods. Data HCC from registry at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in the period August 2015 to December 2019 were collected. Patients with liver cirrhosis (LC) were taken as the control group. The etiology of liver disease is determined by viral serological examination. Non-viral etiology was defined as a patient who was anti-HCV negative and HBsAg negative. Differences in AFP levels were evaluated by using the Mann Whitney test. Performance of serum AFP in viral and non-viral etiologies were evaluated by receiver operation character (ROC). The factors associated with an increase in AFP by a threshold of 10 ng/ml were evaluated by multivariate analysis using logistic regression. Results. There were 295 HCC patients and 155 LC patients who were included in this study. Non-viral etiology was found in 16.1% of LC group and 14.9% of HCC group. The median serum AFP in HCC patients was higher than in LC patients, 187.50 ng/ml vs. 4.60 ng/ml, p 5 cm was 2.89 (95% CI: 1.56 - 3.67; p value 0.001). Conclusions. AFP Serum is low in HCC patients with non-viral etiology. The increase of serum AFP above 10 ng/ml is associated with etiology of viral hepatitis and tumor size.

Let G = (V, E) be a graph, (A, +) be an Abelian group with identity 0A, and (R, +,·) be a ring. We say graph G is an A-vertex-magic graph if there exists a mapping ℓ : V (G) → A−{0A} such that for every u in V (G), the sum labels of every adjacent vertex with u are equal. The prime graph over R, denoted by PG(R), is a graph with V (PG(R)) = R such that uv is an edge if and only if uRv = {0R} or vRu = {0R}, for every vertex u ≠ v. In this article, we examine the ℤk-vertex-magic labeling of the prime graph over the ring ℤn. We consider some classes of prime graphs over ring ℤn for n = p3, n = p4, and n = pqr, with p, q, and r being distinct primes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Inaccuracies in choosing suppliers can interfere with company operations, therefore in supplier selection it has been known as a Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem so that this study uses a method to solve MCDM problems, namely Step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA), and Combined Compromise Solution (COCOSO). The purpose of this research is to get the right raw material supplier based on the results that dominate the MCDM method. The criteria in the selection of suppliers used in this study there are 7 main criteria with 18 sub-criteria, where the highest weight is found in the quality of non-brittle wood with a value of 0.320 and the lowest weight is found at the time of payment with a weight value of 0.00033 based on an assessment using the SWARA method. There are 5 alternative suppliers assessed using the COCOSO method which resulted in Praptiono Novera being ranked first with a ki value of 27,269. Followed by Aris Prianto in second place with a value of 26,349, in third place there is Afif Saifudin with a ki value of 21.89, in fourth place there is Lina Kristiana with a ki value of 10.168, in fifth place is Ari Purnawan with a ki value of 2.281. Production facility layout planning is an important issue and a major cornerstone in the industrial world. Facility layout can be defined as arranging factory facilities to support efficiency and productivity. PT. ABC's warehouse layout in Purbalingga is not quite well organized. Product arrangement is placed anywhere as long as the empty shelf and divided by raw material and finished goods. Therefore, this study was conducted using the shared storage method to cope with low space utilization. The process of product placement in the shared storage method is to arrange storage areas based on the condition of the warehouse floor area and closest to the entrance and exit. The results obtained with this method are according to the comparison of material handling costs above. According to the comparison, the cost of material handling (with a forklift) in the initial layout is Rp. 238,445.32/m2, and in the proposed layout of Rp. 141,917.93/m2. Thus, the material handling layout savings of the proposed layout is 40.5%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LOCATION analysis ,RESTAURANTS ,FOOD industry ,TOURISM ,FOOD service - Abstract
The restaurant industry contributes the most significant revenue in the tourism sector with 41.4%. Therefore, the restaurant industry has the potential to be developed. XYZ restaurant is one of the food service businesses in Indonesia that continues to expand its business in various regions by opening new restaurants. Selecting an appropriate restaurant location is needed to support the company's success. This research aims to determine the criteria necessary for selecting locations using the factor analysis method and choose the location of XYZ restaurants from the alternatives provided by comparing the Best-Worst method (BWM) and AHP-ARAS method. A total of three factors were formed from the factor analysis, namely profit (price, investment value), customer convenience (road access, parking area, environment), and supporters (similar outlet distance, population, waste access). Interviews were also conducted to assess three alternative locations for XYZ restaurant: Depok, Bogor, and South Jakarta. The site selection results using the BWM and AHP-ARAS methods show the exact selected location in the Depok area, although it is slightly different in the order of alternative locations. Comparing the two methods states that BWM produces a better consistency ratio of 0.0176 than AHP-ARAS, with a consistency ratio of 0.0225. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fortunately, TiO2, a photoactive semiconductor, was proven to have antibacterial activity and is being widely utilized. However, its use is limited to the short range of absorption wavelength. Methods: In this work, heterostructured TiO2-FeS2 nanocomposites (NCs) were successfully prepared by a facile solution approach to enhance light-induced antibacterial activity over a broader absorption range. Results: In TiO2-FeS2 NCs, FeS2 NPs, as light harvesters, can effectively increase light absorption from the visible (Vis) to near-infrared (NIR). Results of light-induced antibacterial activities indicated that TiO2-FeS2 NCs had better antibacterial activity than that of only TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) or only FeS2 NPs. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) measurements also showed that TiO2-FeS2 NCs produced the highest relative ROS levels. Unlike TiO2 NPs, TiO2-FeS2 NCs, under light irradiation with a 515-nm filter, could absorb light wavelengths longer than 515 nm to generate ROS. In the mechanistic study, we found that TiO2 NPs in TiO2-FeS2 NCs could absorb ultraviolet (UV) light to generate photoinduced electrons and holes for ROS generation, including ⋅O2− and ⋅OH; FeS2 NPs efficiently harvested Vis to NIR light to generate photoinduced electrons, which then were transferred to TiO2 NPs to facilitate ROS generation. Conclusion: TiO2-FeS2 NCs with superior light-induced antibacterial activity could be a promising antibacterial agent against bacterial infections. Keywords: antibacterial agent, antibacterial mechanism, reactive oxygen species, light harvester, light-induced antibacterial activity

Two different paradigms in the field of plagiarism detection resulting in External Plagiarism Detection (EPD) and Intrinsic Plagiarism Detection (IPD) systems. The most common applied system is EPD, which requires its algorithm to make a heuristic comparison between a suspicious document with documents in a corpus. In contrast, given a suspicious document only, an algorithm of IPD should be able to find the plagiarism section by looking for text segments having different writing styles. Previous researches for Indonesian texts fell only in the field of the EPD development system. Therefore, this research focuses on and contributes to experimenting and analyzing the stylometric features and segmentation strategies to build an IPD system for Indonesian texts. The experimentation results show that the paragraph segment performs better by scoring 0.92 for Macro Averaged-Accuracy and 0.54 for Macro Averaged-F1. The stylometric features achieving the highest scores of F-1 and Accuracy are the frequency of punctuation, the average paragraph length, and the type-token ratio.

The study is aimed at evaluating the pod shattering resistance of F8 soybean lines based on the shattering incidence and shattering severity. The materials consist of fourteen F8 soybean lines and two check cultivars. The pod shattering incidence was examined by using the oven-dry method, meanwhile, the shattering severity was evaluated based on the severity of the pod opening. The pod shattering resistance based on the shattering incidence resulted in five resistant lines (7-10% shattering), seven moderate lines (13-23% shattering), one susceptible line (53% shattering), and one very susceptible line (100% shattering). The pod shattering resistance based on the shattering severity showed that the pod opening on the ventral side differed between the lines and between the shattering degree, and it tends to form sigmoid curves with a different peak position for each shattering degree. The shattering severity of the resistant, moderate, and susceptible lines reached a peak at 60 °C, 50 °C, and 40 °C, respectively. A longer pod length indicated by the length of the dorsal (r = 0.827**) and ventral (r = 0.880**) sides of the pod, a higher total pod weight (0.827**), and a larger seed size (0.794**) will increase the degree of susceptibility to pod shattering. Those characteristics were considered to be the ones that should be used as the selection criteria in the breeding programme for pod shattering resistance in soybeans.

The architecture of the text-reuse detection system consists of three main modules, i.e., source retrieval, text analysis, and knowledge-based postprocessing. Each module plays an important role in the accuracy rate of the detection outputs. Therefore, this research focuses on developing the source retrieval system in cases where the source documents have been obfuscated in different levels. Two steps of term weighting were applied to get such documents. The first was the local-word weighting, which has been applied to the test or reused documents to select query per text segments. The tf-idf term weighting was applied for indexing all documents in the corpus and as the basis for computing cosine similarity between the queries per segment and the documents in the corpus. A two-step filtering technique was applied to get the source document candidates. Using artificial cases of text reuse testing, the system achieves the same rates of precision and recall that are 0.967, while the recall rate for the simulated cases of reused text is 0.66.

Background: Metal nanoclusters (NCs) with outstanding structural and optical properties have been intensively validated for applications in nanomedicine and nanotechnology. Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 6 (CEACAM6) is overexpressed in many cancer cells. Objective: The gold nanoclusters conjugated with a single domain antibody targeting CEACAM6 of 2A3 (2A3-AuNCs) were synthesized for the inhibition of cancer cells. Methods: 2A3-AuNCs were prepared via a facile hydrothermal approach. The cell viability was measured by resazurin dye reduction assay. The cell death was analyzed by fluorescence imaging. Results: Structural and optical characterizations demonstrated the successful synthesis of 2A3-AuNCs with a roughly spherical shape and a size of 2.35 nm. The 2A3-AuNCs revealed a maximum fluorescence intensity at 350 nm with a fluorescence quantum yield of 4.0%. The cell viability assay indicated that 2A3-AuNCs could inhibit the growths of cancer cells with overexpressed CEACAM6, including breast cancer MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells. The fluorescence imaging results also demonstrated that 2A3-AuNCs could inhibit the growth of cancer cells with MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells. Conclusion: Combination with the results of cell viability assay and fluorescence imaging, the surface ligand of 2A3 antibody on 2A3-AuNCs exhibited promising inhibition of CEACAM6 overexpressed cancer cells. Our work provides a potential application of AuNCs in cancer therapy.

- Abstract
Background: The concept of linking academic study with the practical experience of community service has been considered since the first university in Indonesia had been founded in 1949 but has been realized since 1951. This program evolved to be a community service and was called Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) or Student Study-Service. Since 1973, KKN has been integrated into the higher education curriculum for Indonesian universities, and it became one of higher education's threefold responsibilities besides teaching and conducting researches. This study described how KKN and all of its variations are implemented in Duta Wacana Christian University. Aims: Firstly, to explain that KKN and Service-learning have commonalities in their concept and implementation. Secondly, to claim that KKN is an Indonesian version of Service-learning. Thirdly, to share the implementation of KKN & Service-learning at Duta Wacana Christian University from past, present and in future. Fourthly, to describe how Service-learning became a variant of KKN. Arguments/comments/suggestions: The claim that KKN has commonalities with Service-learning can be proved by their concepts such as, the concept of reflection activities, live-in into the community for some periods of time, participatorily planning and implementing programs, and working in a mono- and interdisciplinary areas of study. Because of the political unrest, the need of modifying the implementation of KKN has emerged. In present, there are at least two forms of KKN done by UKDW: the regular KKN and aperiodic KKN. The Service-learning falls under the category of aperiodic KKN that is done in response to specific demands or urgent needs. In future, Service-learning is projected to be a long-term project that is collaborated with other institutions. Conclusion: The Service-learning activities in future such as realizing IT village (Kampoeng IT) depend on the cooperation and networking with the local government, and other institutions.
