Tez (Doktora) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2000, Thesis (PhD) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2000, Bu tezde, çakışmayan paralel eksenler etrafında dönen iki disk arasında bulunan sıkıştırılamayan viskoz bir akışkanın, farklı iki hareketi incelenmiştir. İlk olarak, iki diskin birbirine yakın açısal hızla dönmesi halinde, akışkanın daimi hareketi için yaklaşık analitik bir çözüm elde edilmiştir. Bu çözümle, sonlu farklar metoduyla elde edilen nümerik çözümün uyum içinde olduğu gösterilmiştir. İkinci olarak, başlangıçta çakışmayan eksenler etrafında aynı açısal hızla dönen iki diskin, aniden ortak bir eksen etrafında başlangıç hızında döndürülmesiyle indüklenen akışkanın zamana bağlı hareketi için tam çözüm bulunmuştur. Hız alanı ve akışkan tarafından disklerden biri üzerine x ve y yönlerinde etkiyen kuvvetler farklı iki metot kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Problemin tam sonucunu veren Fourier serisi çözümü, Laplace transform metodu yardımıyla elde edilen zamanın küçük değerleri için uygun olan seri şeklindeki bir çözüm ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Zamanın küçük değerleri için, iki seri çözümün de aynı sonuçları verdiği gösterilmiştir., In this thesis, two different flows of an incompressible viscous fluid between two disks which rotate about non-coincident axes normal to the disks are studied. Firstly, an approximate analytic solution is obtained for the steady flow of a viscous fluid in the case of rotation with a slight angular velocity difference. It is proved that this solution is in good agreement with finite-difference numerical solution. Secondly, an exact solution is found for the unsteady flow induced by the sudden rotations of two disks with their initial speeds about a common axis, while they are initially rotating with the same angular velocity about non-coincident axes. The velocity field and the forces exerted by the fluid on one of the disks in the x and y directions are obtained using two different methods. The Fourier series solution which gives the exact solution of the problem is compared with a series solution, which is convenient at small times, obtained using the Laplace transform technique. Yakma alın kaynağı; yüksek kaynak mukavemeti, özel olarak yüzey hazırlığı gerektirmemesi, yüksek üretim hızı, farklı metallerin kaynaklanabilirliği, .. gibi çeşitli özellikleri sayesinde pek çok uygulamada direnç alın kaynağının yerini almaktadır. İşlem kaynak edilecek parçaların makinaya bağlanması ve bir biriyle hafif temasa getirilmesiyle baslar. Daha sonra parçalardan geçirilen akım temas halindeki yüzeyler arasında bir ark oluşturur. Böylece, ergime sıcaklığına ulaşan parçalara bir baskı kuvvetinin uygulanmasıyla ergimiş metal dışarı atılıp hemen ardındaki plastik bölgede birleşme sağlanır. Yapılan çalışmada işlemin ısıtma safhasında oluşturulan ark dıştan uygulanan bir magnetik alanın etkisiyle döndürülerek boru şeklindeki iş parçalarının kaynak edilecek yüzeylerinde uniform bir ısıtma elde edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Farklı enerji girdilerinin ve baskı kuvvetlerinin kullanılmasıyla elde edilen bağlantılar mekanik ve metalografik olarak test edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak söz konusu malzemelerin kaynağı için optimum parametreler bulunmuştur. Flash welding is used more than upset welding because of greater weld strength, no need for special preparation of weld surface, lower power demand with less power consumption, faster speed and smaller upset, and less heat in the work since mostheat appears at the interface. It is possible to weld dissimilar metals of widely differing melting points since flashing may be continued until both metals have reached their individual fusing temperatures. In this process the parts are brought together lightly with current flowing, and then separated slightly; a flashing action is created at the interface. This heats them to their fusion temperature and permits the pressure which is then applied to force the fused areas together and form the weld. In this study, the arc, which is initiated at the heating phase was rotated along the surfaces of the tubes to be welded by means of an external magnetic field to supply a uniform heating. The joints produced by the application of different welding heats and upset forces were mechanically tested and also examined under light-microscope. As a result, optimum parameters for flash welding of thin walled tubes were obtained. 84
