123. Dynamic risk analysis for oil and gas exploration operations based on HFACS model and Bayesian network.

Abstract

Oil and gas exploration (OGE) is an important part of the petroleum industry. How to predict and prevent risks of OGE accidents in a targeted way is still a challenge, while few researchers have focused on this issue because of the lack of data from the worksite. Therefore, the accident cases for decades of years in a globally operated OGE company are collected as a basis, a dynamic risk analysis method combining the human factors analysis and classification system (HFACS) and the Bayesian network (BN) has been proposed in this article. First, identify the accident cases, analysis, and divided the risk factors into four levels and 27 classification categories, and setup a HFACS-OGE model. Then, map the factors to the BN and identify the correlation of the secondary level factors. Finally, setup a BN model with the Genie software. Through posterior probability analysis and sensitivity analysis, we conclude the major and sensitive factors leading to OGE accidents. According to the conclusion, administrators could decide on corresponding management and control methods. This method can hopefully provide an effective quantitative basis for the identification and prediction of the factors that may lead to OGE accidents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

GET3 is an ATPase protein that plays a pivotal role in the guided entry of the tail-anchored (GET) pathway. The protein facilitates the targeting and inserting of tail-anchored (TA) proteins into the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by interacting with a receptor protein complex on the ER. The role of GET3 in various biological processes has been established in yeast, plants, and mammals but not in filamentous fungi. Fusarium graminearum is the major causal agent of Fusarium head blight (FHB), posing a threat to the yield and quality of wheat. In this study, we found that FgGET3 exhibits a high degree of sequence and structural conservation with its homologs across a wide range of organisms. Ectopic expression of FgGET3 in yeast restored the growth defects of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae ScGET3 knock-out mutant. Furthermore, FgGET3 was found to dimerize and localize to the cytoplasm, similar to its homologs in other species. Deletion of FgGET3 in F. graminearum results in decreased fungal growth, fragmented vacuoles, altered abiotic stress responses, reduced conidia production, delayed conidial germination, weakened virulence on wheat spikes and reduced DON production. Collectively, these findings underscore the critical role of FgGET3 in regulating diverse cellular and biological functions essential for the growth and virulence of F. graminearum. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the lower-limb muscle synergies of young and older adults during stationary cycling across various mechanical conditions to reveal adaptive strategies employed by the elderly to address various common pedaling tasks and function degradation. By comparing lower-limb muscle synergies during stationary cycling between young and old people, this study examined changes in muscle synergy patterns during exercise in older individuals. This is crucial for understanding neuromuscular degeneration and changes in movement patterns in older individuals. Sixteen young and sixteen older experienced cyclists were recruited to perform stationary cycling tasks at two levels of power (60 and 100 W) and three cadences (40, 60, and 90 rpm) in random order. The lower-limb muscle synergies and their inter- and intra-individual variability were analyzed. Three synergies were extracted in this study under all riding conditions in both groups while satisfying overall variance accounted for (VAF) > 85% and muscle VAF > 75%. The older adults exhibited lower variability in synergy vector two and a higher trend in the variability of activation coefficient three, as determined by calculating the variance ratio. Further analyses of muscle synergy structures revealed increased weighting in major contribution muscles, the forward-shifting peak activation in synergy one, and lower peak magnitude in synergy three among older adults. To produce the same cycling power and cadence as younger individuals, older adults make adaptive adjustments in muscle control—increased weighting in major contribution muscles, greater consistency in the use of primary force-producing synergies, and earlier peak activation of subsequent synergy. Abstract

The outstanding photovoltaic characteristics of lead halide perovskites have made them a potential class of materials for upcoming optoelectronic applications. However, a major obstacle to the practical use of lead halide perovskites is the inherent toxicity and low environmental stability of lead. The exploration and development of nontoxic and stable alternatives for lead halide perovskites has therefore become an urgent and critical goal in the field of photovoltaics. In this paper, blue lead-free Cs3Cu2I5 nanocrystals (NCs) with bright emission were prepared by using KI as a metal additive through an improved thermal injection strategy. A breakthrough in the previous photoluminescence quantum (PLQY) yield of 97.2% was achieved when the content of KI was optimized to be 8%. Detailed experimental and theoretical studies have also been combined to conclude that the KI additive acts to passivate surface defects and that the broad-spectrum blue emission originates from self-trapped excitons. When combined with commercial indium tin oxide (ITO), the device may achieve broad-spectrum blue electroluminescence. Its low production cost and simple structure are its main features. Furthermore, we were able to improve the utilization of high-energy ultraviolet energy and overcome the weak absorption of short-wavelength silicon-based solar cells by using nanocrystals as down-conversion luminescent materials in conjunction with silicon-based solar cells. This increased the photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) for the solar cells through approximately 0.5%. The result was achieved through the principle of down-conversion.
