128. Effect of Bilastine on Chronic Urticaria: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Abstract

Background: Allergic diseases are a public health problem with the largest number of patients and the widest age distribution. Chronic urticaria (CU) is a common clinical allergic disease. Bilastine is effective in the treatment of CU, especially skin wind masses and erythema. The purpose of this study was to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Bilastine in the treatment of CU symptoms and to provide an evidence-based reference for clinical rational drug use. Methods: PubMed, Scopus, the Cochrane Library, Embase, EBSCO, and other databases were searched by computer to collect the trials on the effect of bilastine on patients with CU. The retrieval time limit was established until November 2021. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and evaluated the risk of bias in the included study. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.4 software. Results: A total of 7 studies were included, including 975 patients. Meta-analysis results showed that compared to the control group, bilastine significantly improved the skin quality of life index, Total Symptom Score (TSS), and weekly urticaria activity score. The skin quality of life index DLQI score (MD = −4.98, 95% CI: −8.09 to −1.86, p = 0.002), skin symptom score TSS (MD = −1.62, 95% CI −2.29 to −0.94, p < 0.00001), the number of hives in a week UAS-7 score (MD = −25.28, 95% CI −32.36 to −18.19, p < 0.00001), and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions: Bilastine has a better therapeutic effect on CU and can also significantly improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life of CU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

142. In situ growth of Sn nanoparticles confined carbon-based TiO2/TiN composite with long-term cycling stability for sodium-ion batteries

Abstract

Sn has attracted tremendous attentions in sodium ion batteries (SIBs) for its high theoretical capacity, low cost and high electronic conductivity. However, one of the critical problems to hinder the widely practical application of SIBs is the fast capacity decay during repeated charge/discharge cycles owing to the vast volume expansion and aggregation of Sn nanoparticles. Herein, the spatially confined strategy is introduced to synthesize Sn/C@TiO2/TiN composite to address the above issues. The dual space-confined layers of carbonaceous microspheres and TiO2 could effectively buffer the volume expansion of Sn nanoparticles. Moreover, the dual conductive matrix of the inner carbon and outer TiN are favorable to enhance the electrode conductivity and accelerate Na+ and electrons transfer. In addition, the first-principles simulation is further employed to investigate the electrochemical dynamics (structural deformation) of the electrode. As a result, Sn/C@TiO2/TiN electrode exhibits a long cycle life stability (retains a capacity of 201.2 mAh/g after 500 cycles at 0.5 A/g). This spatially confined strategy might exert a profound impact on designing desirable electrode materials with long cycle life and fast redox kinetics in SIBs. © 2020

KGaA, Weinheim Improving surface morphology profiles, i.e., surface area and porosity, by nanostructure/surface engineering is effective in accommodating sodium's ionic and kinetic inadequacies. However, this strategy is limited to only activating the extrinsic pseudocapacitance in terms of improving surface-based reactions. Herein, it is aimed to improve the sodiation performance by enhancement from both intrinsic and extrinsic pseudocapacitance to maximize sodiation potential of materials. A rarely reported but highly functional spinel MnCo2S4 (MCS), is introduced and systematically analyzed using first-principles investigations, which exhibits energetically favorable charge-transfer states and strong Na-ions adsorption kinetics as well as diffusion channels (−3.65 and 0.40 eV respectively). The overall electrochemical redox profiles of the MCS nanostructure is revealed by in situ techniques, which disclose the commencing of partial and then a full conversion-type sodiation at low discharge potentials (0.52 V vs Na/Na+) with fast Na-ions diffusivity. Assisted by surface engineering technology on the intrinsically pseudocapacitive MCS, the urchin-like morphology is instrumental in boosting and realizing sodium storage performance, especially the surface capacitive behavior (from 73.4% to 94.1%), prolonged cycling stability (>800 cycles), and high-rate capability (416 mAh g−1 at 10 A g−1), as well as exhibiting remarkable full cell capability (high rate at 2 A g−1, >200 cycles at 200 mA g−1).

In this study, the candidate genes and the potential tumorigenesis distinguishing between LUAD and LUSC were analyzed.Methods: The present study investigated two microarray datasets (GSE28571 and GSE10245) downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. A protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was applied to screen out the candidate genes. In addition, differently expressed genes (DEGs) between lung adenocarcinoma and lung squamous cell carcinoma of the two datasets were functionally analyzed by Gene Ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment. R 4.0.2 was used to perform Kaplan–Meier analysis of DSG3 (desmoglein 3) and KRT14 (keratin 14) by analyzing the expression and clinical data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.Results: The results revealed that 47 DEGs of the two datasets were ascertained in our study. It was found that the DEGs were mainly involved in pathways related to p63 transcription factor network and validated transcriptional factor targeting TAp63, etc. Based on the analysis, we finally identified DSG3 and KRT14 as potential biomarkers for distinguishing between LUAD and LUSC.
