Abstract

We present the first observation of the Ωc0→Ω−μ+νμ decay and present measurements of the branching fraction ratios of the Ωc0→Ω−ℓ+νℓ decays compared to the reference mode Ωc0→Ω−π+, (ℓ=e or μ). This analysis is based on 89.5 fb−1, 711 fb−1, and 121.1 fb−1 data samples collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider at the center-of-mass energies of 10.52 GeV, 10.58 GeV, and 10.86 GeV, respectively. The Ωc0 signal yields are extracted by fitting MΩℓ and MΩπ spectra. The branching fraction ratios B(Ωc0→Ω−e+νe)/B(Ωc0→Ω−π+) and B(Ωc0→Ω−μ+νμ)/B(Ωc0→Ω−π+) are measured to be 1.98±0.13(stat)±0.08(syst) and 1.94±0.18(stat)±0.10(syst), respectively. The ratio of B(Ωc0→Ω−e+νe)/B(Ωc0→Ω−μ+νμ) is measured to be 1.02±0.10(stat)±0.02(syst), which is consistent with the expectation of lepton flavor universality.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Despite rigorous confirmation with reliable assays, some individuals showing the neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) phenotype remain negative for both aquaporin-4 (AQP4) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies.: OBJECTIVE: We aimed to investigate whether double seronegative NMOSD (DN-NMOSD) and NMOSD with AQP4 antibody (AQP4-NMOSD) share the same pathophysiological basis, astrocytopathy, by measurement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) levels as a marker of astrocyte damage. METHODS: Seventeen participants who (1) satisfied the 2015 diagnostic criteria for NMOSD, and (2) tested negative for AQP4 and MOG antibodies confirmed with repeated cell-based assays, and (3) had available CSF samples obtained at the point of clinical attacks, were enrolled from 4 medical centers (South Korea, Germany, Thailand, and Denmark). Thirty age-matched participants with AQP4-NMOSD, 17 participants with MOG antibody associated disease (MOGAD), and 15 participants with other neurological disorders (OND) were included as controls. The concentration of CSF GFAP was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Abstract

We search for a light Higgs boson (A0) decaying into a τ+τ− or μ+μ− pair in the radiative decays of ϒ(1S). The production of ϒ(1S) mesons is tagged by ϒ(2S)→π+π−ϒ(1S) transitions, using 158×106 ϒ(2S) events accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant A0 signals in the mass range from the τ+τ− or μ+μ− threshold to 9.2 GeV/c2 are observed. We set the upper limits at 90% credibility level (C.L.) on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1S)→γA0 and A0→τ+τ− varying from 3.8×10−6 to 1.5×10−4. Our results represent an approximately twofold improvement on the current world best upper limits for the ϒ(1S)→γA0(→τ+τ−) production. For A0→μ+μ−, the upper limits on the product branching fractions for ϒ(1S)→γA0 and A0→μ+μ− are at the same level as the world average limits, and vary from 3.1×10−7 to 1.6×10−5. The upper limits at 90% credibility level on the Yukawa coupling fϒ(1S) and mixing angle sinθA0 are also given.

Abstract

We present a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3 (also known as γ) using a model-independent Dalitz plot analysis of B + → D ( K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ h + h − )h +, where D is either a D 0 or D ¯ $$ \overline{D} $$ 0 meson and h is either a π or K. This is the first measurement that simultaneously uses Belle and Belle II data, combining samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 711 fb −1 and 128 fb −1, respectively. All data were accumulated from energy-asymmetric e + e − collisions at a centre-of-mass energy corresponding to the mass of the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure ϕ 3 = (78.4 ± 11.4 ± 0.5 ± 1.0)°, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is from the uncertainties on external measurements of the D-decay strong-phase parameters.

Abstract

A search for double-heavy tetraquark state candidates Xccs¯s¯ decaying to Ds+Ds+ and Ds*+Ds*+ is presented for the first time using the data samples of 102×106 ϒ(1S) and 158×106 ϒ(2S) events, and the data samples at s=10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV corresponding to integrated luminosities of 89.5, 711.0, and 121.4 fb−1, respectively, accumulated with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. The invariant-mass spectra of the Ds+Ds+ and Ds*+Ds*+ are studied to search for possible resonances. No significant signals are observed, and the 90% confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions [B(ϒ(1S,2S)→Xccs¯s¯+anything)×B(Xccs¯s¯→Ds+Ds+(Ds*+Ds*+))] in ϒ(1S,2S) inclusive decays and the product values of Born cross section and branching fraction [σ(e+e−→Xccs¯s¯+anything)×B(Xccs¯s¯→Ds+Ds+(Ds*+Ds*+))] in e+e− collisions at s=10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV under different assumptions of Xccs¯s¯ masses and widths are obtained.

Abstract

We present a measurement of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo favored B¯0→D+π− and the Cabibbo suppressed B¯0→D+K− decays. We find B(B¯0→D+π−)=(2.48±0.01±0.09±0.04)×10−3 and B(B¯0→D+K−)=(2.03±0.05±0.07±0.03)×10−4 decays, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third uncertainty is due to the D+→K−π+π+ branching fraction. The ratio of branching fractions of B¯0→D+K− and B¯0→D+π− is measured to be RD=[8.19±0.20(stat)±0.23(syst)]×10−2. These measurements are performed using the full Belle dataset, which corresponds to 772×106BB¯ pairs and use the Belle II software framework for data analysis.

Abstract

Using the entire data sample of 980 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider, we present measurements of the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Ξc0→ΛKS0, Ξc0→Σ0KS0, and Ξc0→Σ+K−. Taking the decay Ξc0→Ξ−π+ as the normalization mode, we measure the branching fraction ratio B(Ξc0→ΛKS0)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.229±0.008±0.012 with improved precision, and measure the branching fraction ratios B(Ξc0→Σ0KS0)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.038±0.006±0.004 and B(Ξc0→Σ+K−)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−π+)=0.123±0.007±0.010 for the first time. Taking into account the branching fraction of the normalization mode, the absolute branching fractions are determined to be B(Ξc0→ΛKS0)=(3.27±0.11±0.17±0.73)×10−3, B(Ξc0→Σ0KS0)=(0.54±0.09±0.06±0.12)×10−3, and B(Ξc0→Σ+K−)=(1.76±0.10±0.14±0.39)×10−3. The first and second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise from the uncertainty of the branching fraction of Ξc0→Ξ−π+.

124. Development and External Validation of Predictive Models for Atrial Fibrillation Following Radiotherapy in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients.

Abstract

Advances in radiotherapy (RT) for lung cancer treatment have enhanced survival rates but also heightened the concern for cardiotoxicity following RT. While previous studies predominantly focused on ischemic heart diseases in RT, our prior study investigated the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) using clinical, dosimetry, and coronary artery calcification (CAC) data. The current study aims to develop and validate learning-based predictive models, including machine and deep learning techniques, for predicting AF following chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. In this study, we analyzed 321 and 187 datasets from internal and external NSCLC patient cohorts, noting 17 and 6 cases of AF incidence respectively. The analysis incorporated 159 patient-specific features, including clinical data, dosimetry (dose-volume histograms), and CAC data. We addressed the imbalance between AF and non-AF cases using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). Our machine learning model used a feature intervention technique for optimal feature representation, selecting the feature with the highest coefficient in each cardiac sub-structure after the feature selection process. On the other hand, the deep learning model was specifically designed with hybrid architectures, enabling it to handle diverse input data types by pairing them with corresponding network architectures. The effectiveness of these models was evaluated using the area under the curve (AUC), with important feature identification using coefficients in classifiers and an open-source library, Captum, for machine and deep learning models, respectively. In this study, the hybrid deep learning model demonstrated superior performance in the internal cohort, achieving an AUC of 0.823, which surpassed the machine learning model with intervention, which had an AUC of 0.801. In external validation, this deep learning model also showed more consistent results, with an AUC of 0.806, compared to the machine learning model's AUC of 0.776. Notably, in both internal and external validations, the identified key features were the maximum dose to the heart and the sinoatrial node (SAN). In this study, we developed and validated machine and deep learning models for predicting AF in NSCLC patients following CRT, finding the deep learning model to be more accurate and identifying the maximum heart dose and SAN as important feature. Abstract

We report the first observation of the processes e+e−→ϒ(1S,2S)η at s=10.866 GeV, with significance exceeding 10σ for both processes. The measured Born cross sections are σ(e+e−→ϒ(2S)η)=2.07±0.21±0.19 pb, and σ(e+e−→ϒ(1S)η)=0.42±0.08±0.04 pb. We also set the upper limit on the cross section of the process e+e−→ϒ(1S)η′ to be σ(e+e−→ϒ(1S)η′)<0.037 pb at 90% C.L. The results are obtained with the data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider in the energy range from 10.63 to 11.02 GeV.

Abstract

We present a search for the lepton-flavor-violating decays B0→τ±ℓ∓, where ℓ=(e,μ), using the full data sample of 772×106 BB¯ pairs recorded by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. We use events in which one B meson is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. The τ± lepton is reconstructed indirectly using the momentum of the reconstructed B and that of the ℓ∓ from the signal decay. We find no evidence for B0→τ±ℓ∓ decays and set upper limits on their branching fractions at 90% confidence level of B(B0→τ±μ∓)<1.5×10−5 and B(B0→τ±e∓)<1.6×10−5.

Abstract

Using 980.6 fb−1 of data collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider, we present a measurement of the branching fraction of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λc+→pω. A clear Λc+ signal is observed for Λc+→pω with a statistical significance of 9.1 standard deviations, and we measure the ratio of branching fractions B(Λc+→pω)/B(Λc+→pK−π+)=(1.32±0.12(stat)±0.10(syst))×10−2, from which we infer the branching fraction B(Λc+→pω)=(8.27±0.75(stat)±0.62(syst)±0.42(ref))×10−4. The first quoted uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third from the reference mode Λc+→pK−π+.

Abstract

Using data samples of 89.5 and 711 fb−1 recorded at energies of s=10.52 and 10.58 GeV, respectively, with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e− collider, we report measurements of branching fractions of semileptonic decays Ξc0→Ξ−ℓ+νℓ (ℓ=e or μ) and the CP-asymmetry parameter of Ξc0→Ξ−π+ decay. The branching fractions are measured to be B(Ξc0→Ξ−e+νe)=(1.31±0.04±0.07±0.38)% and B(Ξc0→Ξ−μ+νμ)=(1.27±0.06±0.10±0.37)%, and the decay parameter αΞπ is measured to be 0.63±0.03±0.01 with much improved precision compared with the current world average. The corresponding ratio B(Ξc0→Ξ−e+νe)/B(Ξc0→Ξ−μ+νμ) is 1.03±0.05±0.07, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton flavor universality. The first measured asymmetry parameter ACP=(αΞ−π++αΞ¯+π−)/(αΞ−π+−αΞ¯+π−)=0.024±0.052±0.014 is found to be consistent with zero. The first and the second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise due to the uncertainty of the Ξc0→Ξ−π+ branching fraction.

Abstract

Using a data sample of 980 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider, we present evidence for the Ω(2012)− in the resonant substructure of Ωc0→π+(K¯Ξ)− ((K¯Ξ)−=K−Ξ0+K¯0Ξ−) decays. The significance of the Ω(2012)− signal is 4.2σ after considering the systematic uncertainties. The ratio of the branching fraction of Ωc0→π+Ω(2012)−→π+(K¯Ξ)− relative to that of Ωc0→π+Ω− is calculated to be 0.220±0.059(stat.)±0.035(syst.). The individual ratios of the branching fractions of the two isospin modes are also determined and found to be B(Ωc0→π+Ω(2012)−)×B(Ω(2012)−→K−Ξ0)/B(Ωc0→π+K−Ξ0)=(9.6±3.2(stat.) ±1.8(syst.))% and B(Ωc0→π+Ω(2012)−)×B(Ω(2012)−→K¯0Ξ−)/B(Ωc0→π+K¯0Ξ−)=(5.5±2.8(stat.) ±0.7(syst.))%.

Abstract

Using 980 fb−1 of data collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider, we report the measurements of the masses, and the first measurements of the instrinsic widths, of the Σc(2455)+ and Σc(2520)+ charmed baryons. We find M(Σc(2455)+)−M(Λc+)=166.17±0.05−0.07+0.16 MeV/c2, Γ(Σc(2455)+)=2.3±0.3±0.3 MeV/c2, M(Σc(2520)+)−M(Λc+)=230.9±0.5−0.1+0.5 MeV/c2, and Γ(Σc(2520)+)=17.2−2.1−0.7+2.3+3.1 MeV/c2, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These measurements can be used to test models of the underlying quark structure of the Σc states.
