It is remarkable that, in recent years, intensive studies have been done for degenerate versions of many special polynomials and numbers and have yielded many interesting results. The aim of this paper is to study the generalized degenerate (r, s)-Stirling numbers of the second and their natural extensions to polynomials, namely the generalized degenerate (r, s)-Bell polynomials, arising from certain degenerate boson normal ordering. We derive some properties, explicit expressions and generating functions for those numbers and polynomials. Recently, Freud-Rodriguez proposed a new counting process which is called the Bell-Touchard process and based on the Bell-Touchard probability distribution. This process was developed to solve the problem of rare events hypothesis which is one of the limitations of the Poisson process. In this paper, we consider the discrete degenerate Bell distributions and the degenerate Bell process which are 'degenerate versions' of the Bell-Touchard probability distributions and the Bell-Touchard process, respectively. We investigate several properties of the degenerate Bell distribution. Deep Neural Networks (DNNs)-based semantic segmentation models trained on a source domain often struggle to generalize to unseen target domains, i.e., a domain gap problem. Texture often contributes to the domain gap, making DNNs vulnerable to domain shift because they are prone to be texture-biased. Existing Domain Generalized Semantic Segmentation (DGSS) methods have alleviated the domain gap problem by guiding models to prioritize shape over texture. On the other hand, shape and texture are two prominent and complementary cues in semantic segmentation. This paper argues that leveraging texture is crucial for improving performance in DGSS. Specifically, we propose a novel framework, coined Texture Learning Domain Randomization (TLDR). TLDR includes two novel losses to effectively enhance texture learning in DGSS: (1) a texture regularization loss to prevent overfitting to source domain textures by using texture features from an ImageNet pre-trained model and (2) a texture generalization loss that utilizes random style images to learn diverse texture representations in a self-supervised manner. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed TLDR; e.g., TLDR achieves 46.5 mIoU on GTA-to-Cityscapes using ResNet-50, which improves the prior state-of-the-art method by 1.9 mIoU. The aim of this paper is to introduce several degenerate hyperbolic functions as degenerate versions of the hyperbolic functions, to evaluate Volkenborn and the fermionic $p$-adic integrals of the degenerate hyperbolic cosine and the degenerate hyperbolic sine functions and to derive from them some identities involving the degenerate Bernoulli numbers, the degenerate Euler numbers and the Cauchy numbers of the first kind.

The Stirling numbers of the second kind are related to normal orderings in the Weyl algebra, while the unsigned Stirling numbers of the first kind are related to normal orderings in the shift algebra. Kim-Kim introduced a {\lambda}-analogue of the unsigned Stirling numbers of the first kind and that of the r-Stirling numbers of the first kind. In this paper, we introduce a {\lambda}-analogue of the shift algebra (called {\lambda}-shift algebra) and investigate normal orderings in the {\lambda}-shift algebra. The aim of this note is to study the multi-Euler-Genocchi and degenerate multi-Euler-Genocchi polynomials which are defined by means of the multiple logarithm and generalize respectively the generalized Euler-Genocchi and generalized degenerate Euler-Genocchi polynomials. The COSINE-100 experiment has been operating with 106 kg of low-background NaI(Tl) detectors to test the results from the DAMA/LIBRA experiment, which claims to have observed dark matter. However, since the background of the NaI(Tl) crystals used in the COSINE-100 experiment is 2-3 times higher than that in the DAMA detectors, no conclusion regarding the claimed observation from the DAMA/LIBRA experiment could be reached. Therefore, we plan to upgrade the current COSINE-100 experiment to the next phase, COSINE-200, by using ultra-low background NaI(Tl) detectors. The basic principle was already proved with the commercially available Astro-grade NaI powder from Sigma-Aldrich company. However, we have developed a mass production process of ultra-pure NaI powder at the Center for Underground Physics (CUP) of the Institute for Basic Science (IBS), Korea, using the direct purification of the raw NaI powder. We plan to produce more than 1,000 kg of ultra-pure powder for the COSINE200 experiment. With our crystal grower installed at CUP, we have successfully grown a low-background crystal using our purification technique for the NaI powder. We have assembled a low-background NaI(Tl) detector. In this article, we report the performance of this ultra-pure NaI(Tl) crystal detector produced at IBS, Korea.
