Background Peripheral artery disease (PAD) increase the risk of comorbidity and mortality in coronary artery disease (CAD). Objectives We evaluate influence of PAD on prognosis in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods We analyzed all consecutive patients included in our dedicated local registry for PCI between January 2011 and December 2016. Presence of PAD was defined by decreased ankle-brachial index ( Results Among the 4,747 patients who underwent the PCI, 12.9% (n=610) of PAD were identified. Old age (>60 years), renal dysfunction, reduced ejection fraction, and presence of PAD were predictors with both MACE and major bleeding event. Among them, presence of PAD was an independent risk factor of MACE and major bleeding (MACE, HR 8.26, 95% CI 2.33- 29.41, p=0.036; major bleeding, HR 3.11, 95% CI 1.10–10.63, p=0.040, respectively). The MACE and major bleeding rate at 5-year was significantly increased in patients with PAD (MACE, 30.0% vs. 15.8%, log rank test p Conclusion Presence of PAD was strongly associated with higher rate of long-term MACE and major bleeding. These findings could have a clinical relevance in requiring individualized pharmacologic strategies to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease. Background With advances in treatment of ischemic heart disease and cancer treatment, use of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in cancer survivors and patients with active cancer (AC) is expanding. Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of cancer on survival and major cardiovascular events (MACE) in a long-term, single-center cohort of patients treated with PCI. Methods Patients treated with PCI between January 2010 and December 2017 were grouped as follows: controls (patients without cancer), stable cancer (SC), and AC. AC was included patients with cancer diagnosed within the past 6 months, patients who had cancer-related therapy within the past 6 months, active metastatic disease, or active recurrence of the cancer. The primary endpoints were 5-year survival and a secondary endpoint was 5-year MACE. Results A total of 6,743 patients (age 66±12 years, 68.4% men) treated with PCI were included: 6,404 (95.0%) controls, 245 (3.6%) SC, and 94 (1.4%) AC. Predominant malignancies were gastrointestinal (37.4%), lung (22.7%), and genitourinary cancer (14.7%). No differences were observed between patients with AC, SC and controls regarding 5-year MACE (total MACE, 33.2% vs. 28.1% vs. 17.5%, p=0.072; cardiac death, 13.6% vs. 9.1% vs. 6.7%, p=0.066; non-fatal myocardial infarction, 2.9% vs. 7.5% vs. 7.8%, p=0.820; revascularization, 17.9% vs. 17.6% vs. 11.6%, p=0.794, respectively). Patients with AC and SC had reduced 5-year survival compared with controls (62.0% vs. 81.5% vs. 89.8%, p Conclusions Cumulative incidence of 5-year survival was discriminated by concurrent status of cancer following PCI. Using data samples of 89.5 and 711fb$^{-1}$ recorded at energies of $\sqrt{s}$=10.52 and 10.58 GeV, respectively, with the Belle detector at the KEKB e$^{+}$e$^{-}$ collider, we report measurements of branching fractions of semileptonic decays Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$l$^{+}$ν$_{l}$(l=e or μ) and the CP-asymmetry parameter of Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$π$^{+}$ decay. The branching fractions are measured to be B(Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$e$^{+}$ν$_{e}$)= 1.31±0.04±0.07±0.38)% and B(Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$μ$^{+}$ν$_{μ}$ = (1.27±0.06±0.10±0.37)% , and the decay parameter α$_{Ξπ}$ is measured to be 0.63±0.03±0.01 with much improved precision compared with the current world average. The corresponding ratio B(Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$e$^{+}$ν$_{e}$) /B(Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$μ$^{+}$ν$_{μ}$) is 1.03±0.05±0.07, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton flavor universality. The first measured asymmetry parameter A$_{CP}$=(α$_{Ξ^{-}π^{+}}$+α$_{Ξ^{+}π^{-}}$)/(α$_{Ξ^{-}π^{+}}$+α$_{Ξ^{+}π^{-}}$) = 0.024±0.052±0.014 is found to be consistent with zero. The first and the second uncertainties above are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third ones arise due to the uncertainty of the Ξ$_{c}$$^{0}$ → Ξ$^{-}$π$^{+}$ branching fraction.

Using a data sample of 980 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e$^{+}$e$^{-}$ collider, we present evidence for the Ω(2012)$^{-}$ in the resonant substructure of Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ ($\overline{K}$ Ξ)$^{-}$ (($\overline{K}$ Ξ)$^{-}$ = K$^{-}$Ξ$^{0}$ + K$^{0}$Ξ$^{-}$ ecays. The significance of the decays. The significance of the Ω(2012)$^{-}$ signal is 4.2σ after considering the systematic uncertainties. The ratio of the branching fraction of Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ Ω(2012)$^{-}$ π$^{+}$ ($\overline{K}$ Ξ)$^{-}$ relative to that of Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ Ω$^{-}$ is calculated to be 0.220±0.059(stat.)±0.035(syst.). The individual ratios of the branching fractions of the two isospin modes are also determined and found to be B (Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ Ω(2012)$^{-}$) x B(Ω(2012)$^{-}$ → $\overline{K}$ Ξ$^{0}$) / B(Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ K$^{-}$Ξ$^{0}$ = (9.6±3.2(stat.) ±1.8(syst.))% and B (Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ Ω(2012)$^{-}$) x B(Ω(2012)$^{-}$ → $\overline{K}$$^{0}$ Ξ$^{-}$) / B(Ω$_{c}$$^{0}$ → π$^{+}$ $\overline{K}$$^{0}$Ξ$^{-}$) =(5.5±2.8(stat.) ±0.7(syst.))%

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases. The mechanisms underlying PD remain to be fully elucidated, and research into treatments for this condition is ongoing. Recent advances in genetic research have shed light on the mechanisms underlying PD. In this study, we used PD and control mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) obtained from adipose tissues to confirm the differences between groups at the cellular and molecular levels. The results revealed that in PD MSCs, cell viability was clearly lower, and the rate of cell senescence was higher compared to the controls. Next, to compare the gene expression in PD and control cells, transcriptome analysis was performed. Genes in pathways, including extracellular matrix (ECM) receptor interaction, P53 signaling, and focal adhesion, were down-regulated in PD. Among genes related to ECM receptor interaction, RELN gene expression was markedly decreased in PD cells, however, after being treated with recombinant Reelin protein, a significant increase in cell viability and a decrease in α-Synuclein aggregation and cell senescence were observed. In conclusion, Reelin affects PD by positively influencing the cell characteristics. Our findings will facilitate research into new treatments for PD.

Buerger's disease is a rare disease that causes critical limb ischemia; however, the underlying pathophysiological mechanism remains unclear. Therefore, we investigated the interaction between interleukin (IL)-17 and high-mobility group protein B 1 (HMGB1) and determined whether A disintegrin and metalloproteinase 10 (ADAM10) inhibit this interaction.The study population included 15 patients with Buerger's disease and 10 healthy donors without a history of giving peripheral blood samples. Cytokine levels were measured using a luminex multiplex assay in plasma. Flow cytometry was used to analyze the subtypes of helper T (Th) cells among peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). The effect of ADAM10 on PBMCs was analyzed in vitro.The levels of inflammatory cytokines and production of pathogenic Th cells were found to be higher in Korean patients with Buerger's disease. IL-17 treatment induced HMGB1 associated molecules. HMGB1 also induced IL-17 and Th17 associated transcription factors in Buerger's patients. We observed that ADAM10 regulates the interaction between IL-17 and HMGB1 via advanced glycation end products (RAGE)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) pathway in patients with Buerger's disease.This study suggests that IL-17 and HMGB1 cytokines contribute to the pathogenesis of Buerger's disease. These results indicate that ADAM10 alleviates inflammation in Buerger's disease via the HMGB1 and RAGE/NF-κB signaling pathway and provides insights into the molecular basis of and a potential therapeutic strategy for Buerger's disease.

We present the results on the physical properties of filaments and dense cores in IC 5146, as a part of the TRAO FUNS project. We carried out On-The-Fly mapping observations using the Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) 14m telescope covering about 1 square degree of the area of IC 5146 using various molecular lines. We identified 14 filaments (24 in total, including sub-filaments) from the C$^{18}$O (1-0) data cube and 22 dense cores from the $\rm N_{2}H^{+}$ (1-0) data. We examined the filaments' gravitational criticality, turbulence properties, accretion rate from filaments to dense cores, and relative evolutionary stages of cores. Most filaments in IC 5146 are gravitationally supercritical within the uncertainty, and most dense cores are formed in them. We found that dense cores in the hubs show a systemic velocity shift of ~0.3 km/s between the $\rm N_{2}H^{+}$ and C$^{18}$O gas. Besides, these cores are subsonic or transonic, while the surrounding filament gas is transonic or supersonic, indicating that the cores in the hubs are likely formed by the turbulence dissipation in the colliding turbulent filaments and the merging is still ongoing. We estimated the mass accretion rate of $15 - 35~M_{\odot}~\rm Myr^{-1}$ from the filaments to the dense cores, and the required time scales to collect the current core mass are consistent with the lifetime of the dense cores. The structures of filaments and dense cores in the hub can form by a collision of turbulent converging flows, and mass flow along the filaments to the dense cores may play an important role in forming dense cores., 41 pages, 23 figures, 6 tables, Accepted for publication in ApJ

We construct the classical double copy formalism for M-theory. This extends the current state of the art by including the three form potential of eleven dimensional supergravity along with the metric. The key for this extension is to construct a Kerr-Schild type Ansatz for exceptional field theory. This Kerr-Schild Ansatz then allows us to find the solutions of charged objects such as the membrane from a set of single copy fields. The exceptional field theory formalism then automatically produces the IIB Kerr-Schild ansatz allowing the construction of the single copy for the fields of IIB supergravity (with manifest $SL(2)$ symmetry)., Comment: 34 pages; v2: minor changes, references added; v3: JHEP published version

Invasive meningococcal disease has high morbidity and mortality, with infants and young children among those at greatest risk. This phase III, open-label, randomised study in toddlers aged 12–23 months evaluated the immunogenicity and safety of meningococcal tetanus toxoid-conjugate vaccine (MenACYW-TT), a tetanus toxoid conjugated vaccine against meningococcal serogroups A, C, W and Y, when coadministered with paediatric vaccines (measles, mumps and rubella [MMR]; varicella [V]; 6-in-1 combination vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type b [DTaP-IPV-HepB-Hib] and pneumococcal conjugate vaccine [PCV13])(NCT03205371). Immunogenicity to each meningococcal serogroup was assessed by serum bactericidal antibody assay using human complement (hSBA). Vaccine safety profiles were described up to 30 days post-vaccination. A total of 1183 participants were enrolled. The proportion with seroprotection (hSBA ≥1:8) to each meningococcal serogroup at Day 30 was comparable between the MenACYW-TT and MenACYW-TT + MMR + V groups (≥92 and ≥96%, respectively), between the MenACYW-TT and MenACYW-TT + DTaP-IPV-HepB-Hib groups (≥90% for both) and between the MenACYW-TT and MenACYW-TT + PCV13 groups (≥91 and ≥84%, respectively). The safety profiles of MenACYW-TT, and MMR + V, DTaP-IPV-HepB-Hib, and PCV13, with or without MenACYW-TT, were generally comparable. Coadministration of MenACYW-TT with paediatric vaccines in toddlers had no clinically relevant effect on the immunogenicity and safety of any of the vaccines.

We measure the time-dependent $C\!P$ violation parameters in $B^{0} \to K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{S}$ decays using $772 \times 10^6$ $B {\mkern 1.5mu\overline{\mkern-1.5mu B \mkern-0.1mu}\mkern 0.1mu}$ pairs collected at the $\Upsilon (4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The obtained mixing-induced and direct $C\!P$ asymmetries are $-0.71 \pm 0.23~{\rm(stat)} \pm 0.05~{\rm(syst)}$ and $0.12 \pm 0.16~{\rm(stat)} \pm 0.05~{\rm(syst)}$, respectively. These values are consistent with the Standard Model predictions. The significance of $C\!P$ violation differs from zero by 2.5 standard deviations.

We study the adaptation properties of the multivariate log-concave maximum likelihood estimator over three subclasses of log-concave densities. The first consists of densities with polyhedral support whose logarithms are piecewise affine. The complexity of such densities~$f$ can be measured in terms of the sum $\Gamma(f)$ of the numbers of facets of the subdomains in the polyhedral subdivision of the support induced by $f$. Given $n$ independent observations from a $d$-dimensional log-concave density with $d \in \{2,3\}$, we prove a sharp oracle inequality, which in particular implies that the Kullback--Leibler risk of the log-concave maximum likelihood estimator for such densities is bounded above by $\Gamma(f)/n$, up to a polylogarithmic factor. Thus, the rate can be essentially parametric, even in this multivariate setting. For the second type of adaptation, we consider densities that are bounded away from zero on a polytopal support; we show that up to polylogarithmic factors, the log-concave maximum likelihood estimator attains the rate $n^{-4/7}$ when $d=3$, which is faster than the worst-case rate of $n^{-1/2}$. Finally, our third type of subclass consists of densities whose contours are well-separated; these new classes are constructed to be affine invariant and turn out to contain a wide variety of densities, including those that satisfy H\"older regularity conditions. Here, we prove another sharp oracle inequality, which reveals in particular that the log-concave maximum likelihood estimator attains a risk bound of order $n^{-\min\bigl(\frac{\beta+3}{\beta+7},\frac{4}{7}\bigr)}$ when $d=3$ over the class of $\beta$-H\"older log-concave densities with $\beta\in (1,3]$, again up to a polylogarithmic factor., Comment: 97 pages, 6 figures

Charged lepton flavor violation is forbidden in the Standard Model but possible in several new physics scenarios. In many of these models, the radiative decays τ± → ℓ±γ (ℓ = e, μ) are predicted to have a sizeable probability, making them particularly interesting channels to search at various experiments. An updated search via τ± → ℓ±γ using full data of the Belle experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 988 fb−1, is reported for charged lepton flavor violation. No significant excess over background predictions from the Standard Model is observed, and the upper limits on the branching fractions, $$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (τ± → μ±γ) ≤ 4.2 × 10−8 and $$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (τ± → e±γ) ≤ 5.6 × 10−8, are set at 90% confidence level.
