Indonesian students' creative thinking skill is still at a low level. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of project collaborative model assisted by Google Classroom (PjCM-GC) in improving students' creative thinking skills. This research explored the differences between students who learned through the demonstration model (DM), project collaborative model (PjCM), and project collaborative model assisted by Google Classroom (PjCM-GC). It was a quasi-experimental with pre and post-test design. The population of this research was students at Senior High School, Lombok Timur-Indonesia. Random sampling technique was employed in this study. The sample was 86 science students grade XI (15-16 ages) who studied in SMAN 1 Aikmel. The data analyzed by paired-sample t-test, comparative-descriptive analysis, and ANOVA mixed design using SPSS 24. The study showed that The PjCM-GC group had a significant difference in the level of creative thinking skills (sig 0.0000). The PjCM-GC was the most effective model to improve the skills with a gain score of 0.47 (medium). Learning with the PjCM-GC model can be an alternative for policymakers and teachers to solve the problems of creative thinking.

This study is aimed at describing the use of power in class discourse covering representation of power in speech act, representation of power in communication patterns and function of power in class discourse. Communication ethnography and pragmatic methods were used. The research results show that the use of directive, assertive, and expressive acts in class discourse represent the power with certain domination; that the control of speech topics, interruptions, and overlapping tend to represent the power with certain domination that also effect the legitimacy of the user of this strategy. In relation to its function, power in class discourse is applied as a preventive, supportive, and corrective acts in order to achieve instructional objective.

Objective: In this study we introduce using nasogatric tube as an alternative to procure a safe and efficient way to remove large troublesome blood clots during cystoscopy procedure. Material & methods: We prospectively perform blood clot evacuation using nasogastric tube suction (NGT) on 21 patients in Hasan Sadikin GeneralHospital Bandung,within 6 months period. A 24 fr sheath and 16 fr NGT connected to suction unit with a 300 mmhg negative pressure was set. A repetitive back and forth technique was set in motion during the procedure. Cystoscopy time and NGT suction time was documented. Results: All patients were successfully managed with this method without complication during the procedure. The average time for clot removal was 5 minutes 8 seconds with average cystoscopy time was 20 minutes 12 seconds and average estimated blood clots volume was 483 grams. Conclusion: Evacuation using NGT suction is effective, safe and an efficient way to remove a large bothersome clots.

Objective: To evaluate the role of bedside bladder sonography along with retrograde instilation of saline as a novel diagnostic procedure for suspected bladder trauma. Material & methods: Prospective evaluation of all patients with suspected bladder injuries admitted to the Emergency Department of Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia, from 2010–2013. Suspected urethral injury patients were excluded. Along with routine Focused Assessment Sonography for Trauma (FAST) procedure, bedside bladder sonography was performed concurrently with retrograde instillation of normal saline 350cc through a Foley catheter. The objective of real-time bladder sonogram was to examine the presence of peri-vesical free fluid turbulence and accumulation during saline instillation, which subsequently indicated a suspected bladder perforation. The accuracy of sonographic results were compared with computerized tomography (CT), cystogram or intraoperative findings. Time to diagnosis was recorded. Statistical analysis was performed to evaluate the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value(NPV) and diagnostic accuracy. Results: 23 patients met the inclusion criteria. The mean age was 27.21 years old, 87% were males. Based on cystogram or intraoperative finding there are 21 patients have bladder rupture. Among these patients, 14 patients had positive result onbladder sonogram, and all confirmed positive on cystogram and operative finding. Nine patients had negative result on bladder sonogram. While 7 among them have positive result on cystogram or intraoperative finding. Analysis revealed 67% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 100% PPV, and 22.2% NPV. Overall diagnostic accuracy of bladder sonogram was 83.5%. Time to diagnosis were significantly shorter in bedside bladder sonogram compared to CT or cystogram (11.82 ± 2.99 min vs 181.30 ± 88.89 min; p < 0.05). Conclusion: Bedside bladder sonogram is a useful adjunct procedure for diagnosis of bladder trauma. It is time and cost effective, and can be performed in bed-side emergency setting with acceptable accuracy.

Efficiency energy and stream data mining on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a very interesting issue to be discussed. Routing protocols technology and resource-aware can be done to improve energy efficiency. In this paper we try to merge routing protocol technology using routing Distance Vector and Resource-Aware (RA) framework on heterogeneity wireless sensor networks by combining sun-SPOT and Imote2 platform wireless sensor networks. RA perform resource monitoring process of the battery, memory and CPU load more optimally and efficiently. The process uses Light-Weight Clustering (LWC) and Light Weight Frequent Item (LWF). The results obtained that by adapting Resource-Aware in wireless sensor networks, the lifetime of wireless sensor improve up to ± 16.62%. Efisiensi energi dan stream data mining pada Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) adalah masalah yang sangat menarik untuk dibahas. Teknologi Routing Protocol dan Resource-Aware dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti mencoba untuk menggabungkan teknologi Routing Protocol menggunakan routing Distance Vector dan Resource-Aware (RA) framework pada Wireless Sensor Networks heterogen dengan menggabungkan sun-SPOT dan platform Imote2 Wireless Sensor Networks. RA melakukan proses pemantauan sumber daya dari memori, baterai, dan beban CPU lebih optimal dan efisien. Proses ini menggunakan Light-Weight Clustering (LWC) dan Light Weight Frequent Item (LWF). Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa dengan mengadaptasi Resource-Aware dalam Wireless Sensor Networks, masa pakai wireless sensor meningkatkan sampai ± 16,62%.

Web Pedagogical Content Knowledge (WPACK) is an important competence for pre-service teachers in the educational technology course. However, novice pre-service teachers require the preparation stage to integrate the Web into instruction. The purpose of the study was to develop and to investigate the new instructional model for pre-service teachers in integrating the Web. The Preparation, Isolation, Transformation, Action, Reflection, and Revision (PINTARR) and two other models were implemented in three physics education technology groups with seventy-four participants. The instrument test was constructed to assess the pre-service teachers' competencies, namely Student analysis, Curriculum organization, Instructional strategy selection, Evaluation, Technological knowledge, and Physics knowledge. The result of MANOVA showed pre-service teachers in PINTARR group outperformed overall the pre-service teachers' competencies rather than the Multimedia and Web Design Learning group. The results indicated that the Preparation and the Isolation stage were the most important for novice pre-service teachers in improving the competencies.

Students in Indonesia still have the low level of scientific argumentation skills. This study purposed to examine the impact of Problem-based Learning (PBL) with Argument Mapping and Online Laboratory in improving the scientific argumentation skill. It describes the significance of the differences between participants who learn through PBL, PBL with Online Laboratory (PBL-OL), Problem-based Learning with Argument Mapping and Online Laboratory (PBL-AMOL) model. The population of this study were students from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Yogyakarta, Indonesia with a random sampling technique. This was quasi-experiment with pre and post test designs. In this study, there were 97 students at MAN 1 as respondent. Paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test and ANOVA mixed design was used to analysis data. The PBL-AMOL group has a significant difference based on pre-test and post-test (sig. 0000). The PBL-AMOL was most effective to improve the skill with gain score 0.43 (medium). Learning with the PBLAMOL model can be an alternative to solve the problems of creative thinking skill.

Objective: To report our first experience in transperitoneal laparoscopic repair of vesicovaginal fistula in Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital. Method: A 31-year-old female presented with vesicovaginal fistula after cesarean section. Patient complained of urinary incontinence since 5 years ago. After a failed trial of conservative treatment with catheter drainage, a transperitoneal laparoscopic repair was performed. Initially, cystoscopy was performed to confirm the fistula location and for bilateral ureteric catheterization. A 4-port technique was performed with the patient in lithotomy position and slightly Trendelenburg. Without opening the bladder, the fistula tract was excised and the bladder was separated from the anterior vaginal wall. Both the bladder and vaginal walls were then closed separately using intracorporeal suturing, interposed with the omentum. Result: Total operative time was 270 minutes. Normal diet was resumed on day 1, drain was removed on the first day after surgery, and the patient was discharged on the second day with an indwelling catheter. Surgical wound showed good cosmetic result and no leakage was identified from cystogram after 2 weeks. The catheter was removed after 2 weeks. Conclusion: Laparoscopic transperitoneal repair of vesicovaginal fistula with omentum inteposition is feasible in Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital with good outcome, short hospital stay, and good cosmetic result. As the size of human populations increases, so does the severity of the impacts of natural disasters. This is partly because more people are now occupying areas which are susceptible to hazardous natural events, hence, evacuation is needed when such events occur. Evacuation can be the most important action to minimise the impact of any disaster, but in many cases there are always people who are reluctant to leave. This paper describes an agent-based model (ABM) of evacuation decisions, focusing on the emergence of reluctant people in times of crisis and using Merapi, Indonesia as a case study. The individual evacuation decision model is influenced by several factors formulated from a literature review and survey. We categorised the factors influencing evacuation decisions into two opposing forces, namely, the driving factors to leave (evacuate) versus those to stay, to formulate the model. The evacuation decision (to stay/leave) of an agent is based on an evaluation of the strength of these driving factors using threshold-based rules. This ABM was utilised with a synthetic population from census microdata, in which everyone is characterised by the decision rule. Three scenarios with varying parameters are examined to calibrate the model. Validations were conducted using a retrodictive approach by performing spatial and temporal comparisons between the outputs of simulation and the real data. We present the results of the simulations and discuss the outcomes to conclude with the most plausible scenario.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with limited battery, central processing units (CPUs), and memory resources are a widely implemented technology for early warning detection systems. The main advantage of WSNs is their ability to be deployed in areas that are difficult to access by humans. In such areas, regular maintenance may be impossible; therefore, WSN devices must utilize their limited resources to operate for as long as possible, but longer operations require maintenance. One method of maintenance is to apply a resource adaptation policy when a system reaches a critical threshold. This study discusses the application of a security level adaptation model, such as an ARSy Framework, for using resources more efficiently. A single node comprising a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and a DS18B20 temperature sensor were tested in a laboratory under normal and stressful conditions. The result shows that under normal conditions, the system operates approximately three times longer than under stressful conditions. Maintaining the stability of the resources also enables the security level of a network’s data output to stay at a high or medium level.

The aim of the research was to determine the effectivity of implementation of e-learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (E-STEM) project-based learning model in teaching science to improve information, communication, and technology (ICT) literacy and problem solving. The study adopted quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. E-STEM project-based learning model was applied in experimental classroom, while the control classroom applied conventional teaching. The sample was 46 students who was selected using cluster sampling method. They were in grade VIII academic year 2020/2021 which representing the population students of Junior High School 8, in Aceh Besar, Indonesia. The data were collected using test instrument and questionnaires. Validity verification of instrument measured based on Aiken index, while instrument reliability was determined based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The data were analyzed using Manova and descriptive quantitative. The result of the study showed that there is meaningful difference of ICT literacy and problem solving mean score based on the difference of both teaching approach. It is concluded that the implementation of E-STEM project-based learning model and problem solving in teaching science has significant impact in increasing ICT literacy and problem solving.

Train is one of the most favorite mass transportation in the world. In 2017 train in Indonesia can bring about 341.605 passengers to many destinations. PT. Kereta Api Indonesia is a state owned enterprise that has responsibility to make sure that train is safe and works well. As we know that a train has several components to check. It is very difficult to identify whether a train is in a good condition or needs repairing. The purpose of this work is to proposes a model of operational feasibility by several main criteria: bogie, breaking system, boffer, electric coupler, and safety kit. In its experiment phase, this model uses Tsukamoto Fuzzy Inference System to decide that a train is in good condition or need repairing. In evaluation phase we compare this model with traditional method and this model shows exactly 99% of the same result. It is suggested for further work to include several methods such as Tsugeno and Mamdani fuzzy inference system.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan motivasi, hasil belajar kognitif, hasil belajar afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan media komik. Penelitian dilakukan lewat quasi experiment dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 57 peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 1 Banjarnegara. Media komik digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA selama 6 kali tatap muka. Data motivasi dan hasil belajar afektif diperoleh lewat angket dan observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif lewat pretes dan postes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media komik di dalam pembelajaran IPA mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik dengan nilai gain skor sebesar 0,55 (sedang); hasil belajar ranah kognitif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,42 (sedang); dan meningkatkan hasil belajar ranah afektif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,34 (sedang). Hasil uji beda antara sebelum dan setelah perlakuan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan baik yang menyangkut motivasi belajar, hasil belajar ranah kognitif, maupun hasil belajar ranah afektif. Kata Kunci: media komik, pembelajaran IPA, motivasi, hasil belajar kognititf, hasil belajar afektif THE USE OF COMIC MEDIA IN SCIENCE INSTRUCTION TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION AND COGNITIVE AND AFFECTIVE ACHIEVEMENT Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the improvement of students’ motivation, cognitive and affective learning achievement in science instruction using comic media. The study was carried out using the quasi experiment with the one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 57 seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Banjarnegara.Comic media were used in science instruction for six times. The data on motivation and affective learning achievement were obtained through questionnaires and observation, while the cognitive learning achievement was obtained through the pretest and posttest. The findings of the study showed that the use of the comic media in the science instruction could improve the students’ motivation with a gain score of 0.55; improve the cognitive learning achievement with a gain score of 0.42; and improve the affective learning achievement with a gain score of 0.34. There was a significant difference in the students’ motivation, cognitive learning achievement, and affective learning achievement before and after the treatment. Introduction : Obstetric fistula is a severe and debilitating condition occurring throughout the developing world. Although there are no accurate data on the incidence and prevalence of the condition, the majority of vesicovaginal fistulas develop after gynaecologic surgery, with transperitoneal hysterectomy accounting for 90% of cases. Several techniques are available for repairing the fistulas. Transperitoneal approaches give good results even for difficult posterior located fistulas, but are associated with increased morbidity compared with the transvaginal approach. We performed a laparoscopic repair and omentum interposition. Objective : To report our first experience in transperitoneal laparoscopic repair of vesicovaginal fistula in Hasan Sadikin Hospital. Without opening the bladder, the fistula tract was excised with separation of the bladder from the anterior vagina wall. Both the bladder and vagina walls were then closed separately using intracorporeal suturing with an interpositional omentum. Result : Total operative time was 270 min. Normal diet was resumed on day 1, drain was removed on post operatif day 1 and patient was discharged on the second day with an indwelling catheter. Good cosmetic result on wound operation and no leakage under cystogram after 2 weeks. The catheter was removed after 2 weeks. This study focuses on developing the new level of scientific argumentation skills and new items that are feasible and valid for used. There are 195 science students at Islamic State School 1 (MAN 1) Yogyakarta as participant in this study. Random sampling technique was used from the three schools of Islamis State School (MAN) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Seven experts (3 professors, 2 teachers, and 2 graduate students) reviewed 14 items for the first phase of this study. For the second phase, 98 students answered 14 questions which each questions containing five points (claim, data, backing, warrant and rebuttal). For the third phase, after choosing the best five 5 questions, we asked the others (97 students) to answer those questions. The modification of the level of scientific argumentation skills indicates the ability of students is still low. At level 1 (claims) there were only 38.9% students, level 2 (data) were 21.6% students, level 3 (warrants) 16.6% students, level 4 (backing) 16.2% while level 5 (rebuttal) is the most difficult, for students' users only by 4.2%. Based on the findings, the test can measure and show with a separate level of students' scientific argumentation skill in this school.

A blog page is a vital tool to share and discuss information in real-world problem-solving. Unfortunately, this potential of blogs rarely was used to facilitate the problem-solving in specific physics topics. This study aimed to describe and examine a blog transformation in improving students' problem-solving. Through 40 university students, this study compared two physics learning sessions using transformation blogs and modules as resources. The results showed the advantages of blog transformation. We also discussed the differences between students' cognitive levels based on the new taxonomy of educational objectives. Instructors can model this study in designing a transformative technology to solve, map, and improve students' problem-solving skills in the semiconductor topic.

Creative thinking is high-order thinking that is not easy to stimulate with conventional learning, especially to solve complex physics problems. However, the learning strategy chosen must be in accordance with the teaching materials and students characteristics. Creative thinking is very important especially for low-ability characteristic in solving complicated physics problems; therefore, it needs to be triggered by student-centered learning strategies such as project briefs. This research was to analyze the effect of project brief learning on creative thinking skills (CrTS) of low-ability pre-service physics teachers. Sample was selected using purposive sampling (97 people) in the initial semester pre-service physics teachers which consisted of three classes A (32 people), B (35 people), and C (30 people). Data collection through essay tests on vibration and wave material and adjusted according to the CrTS-Kim indicators. The results show that the project brief has a positive effect on creative thinking skills. The highest effect on the fluency indicator has an average of 15.7 compared to the lecture strategy, as well as the mixture with an average of 9.89, and the lowest on the originality indicator.

The understanding of evacuation processes is important for improving the effectiveness of evacuation plans in the event of volcanic disasters. In terms of social processes, the enactment of evacuations in volcanic crises depends on the variability of individual/household responses. This variability of population response is related to the uncertainty and unpredictability of the hazard characteristics of volcanoes—specifically, the exact moment at which the eruption occurs (temporal), the magnitude of the eruption and which locations are impacted (spatial). In order to provide enhanced evacuation planning, it is important to recognise the potential problems that emerge during evacuation processes due to such variability. Evacuation simulations are one approach to understanding these processes. However, experimenting with volcanic evacuations in the real world is risky and challenging, and so an agent-based model is proposed to simulate volcanic evacuation. This paper highlights the literature gap for this topic and provides the conceptual design for a simulation using an agent-based model. As an implementation, an initial evacuation model is presented for Mount Merapi in Indonesia, together with potential applications of the model for supporting volcanic evacuation management, discussion of the initial outcomes and suggestions for future work.

This study generally aims to analyze the concept of mudharabah financing in Baitul Qiradh (BQ) Abu Indrapuri for micro-enterprises. Specifically, the paper reviews the systems implemented in the management and revenue-sharing mechanisms derived from these micro-enterprises. This study employs primary and secondary data which were collected through interview and documentation studies. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method. The findings show that generally the concept of mudharabah financing in BQ Abu Indrapuri is based on Fatwa Dewan Syariah Nasional No. 07/DSN/MUI/IV/2000. In the implementation level, however, the application of profit sharing and collateral system was not fully shariah compliance. The imbalance between the concept and implementation because the BQ still refers to the conventional banking rules. =========================================== Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep pembiayaan mudharabah pada Baitul Qiradh (BQ) Abu Indrapuri untuk usaha mikro. Secara spesifik, tulisan mengkaji tentang sistem yang diterapkan dalam pengelolaan dan mekanisme pembagian pendapatan yang diperoleh dari usaha mikro tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan sekunder yang dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara bebas, dan studi dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum konsep pembiayaan mudharabah pada BQ Abu Indrapuri berpedoman pada Fatwa Dewan Syariah Nasional No.07/DSN/MUI/IV/2000. Akan tetapi, dalam implementasinya masih terdapat hal-hal yang tidak sesuai dengan konsep syariah yaitu pada sistem bagi hasil dan jaminan. Terdapat ketimpangan antara konsep dan implementasi disebabkan karena BQ Abu Indrapuri masih mengacu pada aturan sistem perbankan konvensional.

Pengembangan soft skills bukanlah hal baru dalam bidang pendidikan, karena landasan untuk pengembangannya sudah sangat jelas, UU Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 Tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, Bab I, Pasal 1 Ayat 1. Perlunya pengembangan soft skills di program kelas internasional terkait dengan permasalahan yang muncul di rintisan program kelas internasional yang sudah diselenggarakan di Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika FMIPA UNY. Dari kelas rintisan tersebut dapat teramati pada proses perkuliahan sering terlihat keraguan mahasiswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam perkuliahan. Selain karena kendala yang muncul akibat keterbatasan mahasiswa dalam menguasai percakapan bahasa Inggris, sehingga mereka memerlukan waktu lebih lama untuk menyimak isi perkuliahan, tapi juga yang tampak menonjol adalah pengaruh dari kurang berkembangnya soft skills mahasiswa.Rancangan eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Non Random Pre-tes Post-test Control Group. Dalam rancangan ini, pengambilan subyektidak dilakukan secara rambang. Rancangan ini dipilih karena selama eksperimentidak memungkinkan untuk mengubah kelas yang telah ada. Pra tes digunakan untukmenyetarakan pengetahuan awal kedua kelompok sedangkan post tes digunakan untukmengukur hasil belajar dan lembar observasi untuk mengetahui perkembangan soft skillsselama dan setelah proses belajar. Kegiatan belajar yang dilakukan dengan berbasis konteks, menyebabkan peserta didik aktif merumuskan pertanyaan, mencari sumber informasi dan mengumpulkan informasi dari sumber, mengolah informasi yang sudah dimiliki, merekonstruksi data/fakta/nilai, menyajikan hasil rekonstruksi/proses pengembangan nilai. Hal ini menumbuhkan soft skills pada diri mahasiswa melalui berbagai kegiatan belajar yang terjadi di kelas pembelajaran, lingkungan kampus, dan tugas-tugas di luar kampus. Pengembangan soft skills ini berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa baik secara proses maupun produk yang di ambil datanya melalui tes. Development of soft skills is not new in the field of education , as a foundation for the development has been very clear , the Law No. 20 Year 2003 on National Education System , Chapter I , Article 1, Paragraph 1 . Necessity development of soft skills in the international class courses related to problems that arise in pilot programs that have an international class held at Department of Physics, State Education UNY . Of the stub class can be observed on the lecture often seen doubts of students to be actively involved in the lecture . In addition to constraints that arise due to the limitations of the student in mastering English conversation , so they take more time to listen to the contents of the lecture , but also that stood out was the effect of the lack of soft skills development mahasiswa.Rancangan experiments used in this study is the Non-Random Pre - test Post -test Control Group . Learning activities undertaken by the context -based , causing active students to formulate questions , seek resources and collect information from sources , process the information they have, reconstructing data / fact / value , presenting the results of the reconstruction / development process value . This growing soft skills in students through a variety of self- learning activities that occur in the classroom learning , campus environment , and tasks outside the campus . The development of soft skills significantly influence the improvement of student learning outcomes both process and product are taken through the test data

This cross-sectional study aimed to validate students' metacognition awareness inventory in Heat and Temperature material. A total of 167 public senior high school students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia were selected through convenience sampling technique. The heat and temperature metacognition awareness inventory (HeTMAI) inventory consists of six factors, namely: (1) Knowledge of cognition; (2) Planning; (3) Monitoring; (4) Evaluation; (5) Debugging; and (6) Information management. HeTMAI used a 5-point Likert scale. The data was analyzed using the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) method through the Maximum Likelihood approach. All statistics were found to meet acceptance values. The four GOF indices (X[superscript 2]/df=2.36, CFI=0.97, TLI=0.97, and SRMR=0.06) have supported the fit of the six-factor HeTMAI model. Standardized factor loading (SFL), construct reliability (CR), average variance extracted (AVE) and discriminant values provide evidence that HeTMAI has sufficient convergent and discriminant validity. Cronbach's alpha value of 0.96 indicated HeTMAI has very adequate evidence of reliability.

The transition of traditional classroom teaching to online teaching platforms in English as a foreign or second language context has caused the shift of teachers' motivational factors. The present study aimed to develop a new motivational teaching instrument and provide indication for the scale's validity and reliability of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) teachers' basic psychological need fulfillment in online teaching (BPNOT), using samples of Indonesian novice and experienced ESP teachers across genders. The author employed four different development stages of BPNOT's scale using four different independent samples of ESP teachers in Indonesian EFL context (total n = 566). The first developmental stage was designed to develop items for the scale and to establish structure of factorial design utilizing a multivariate statistics of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) test. The second scale development was continued to determine the item scale factorial structure using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to confirm whether the construct was consistent or not. The third development stage estimated the test of invariance across gender and teaching experience. Finally, the last developmental stage aimed to revalidate the validity and reliability of the new scale over time. The findings of the preliminary scale validation revealed that the scale has acceptable psychometric features.

After the 2010 eruption of Merapi, some areas at Sleman Regency experienced with lahars disaster. Many agencies have their own responsibility to overcome the problems in collaborative work. Nevertheless, it is lack of spatial/GIS data support on their decision making as well as on their communications. The main objective of this research was to develop spatial information system to support collaborative lahars disaster management especially for response and recovery phase of the impact on infrastructures at Sleman Regency. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were used to investigate their need of the spatial data and the data availability. Basically respondents agreed that spatial data is important in their communication and decision making support. Specifically, the application is utilized with specific spatial analysis tools to support decision making processes. The users’ evaluation of the prototype resulted that almost all of respondents give a good mark to the system.

Previous studies have indicated inconsistencies in utilizing the mobile application known as "WhatsApp" in academic vocabulary learning. This study attempts to overcome those inconsistencies by addressing three research aims, namely a) to examine any significant difference of employing vocabulary learning between using "WhatsApp"-based reporting and receiving on the one hand, and traditional-based reporting and receiving strategies on the other; (b) to determine the best predictor of vocabulary learning, and (c) to draw learners' attitudes among the four types of strategies. A mixed randomized experimental type of research with pre-test and post-test design as well as survey design has been consecutively applied for these purposes. The results of the study reveal that English Academic Purposes (EAP) learners who expand their academic vocabulary using "WhatsApp"-based reporting activities achieve better having been exposed to these three different treatments. Learners' endeavours to find out the mixed Indonesian-English vocabulary definitions by themselves, followed by reporting these to their teacher using "WhatsApp" turn out to be the best vocabulary learning predictor. Learners' attitudes observed in this cohort also show positive responses. Since the aspect of familiarity with academic vocabulary learning is not incorporated into this study, future researchers may find filling up this lacuna worth pursuing.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the habituation of character education in students by paying attention to factors influencing them to deviate from character values. The study employed a mixed-method approach. The qualitative approach involved 28 participants (teachers and students). While in the quantitative study, 65 students were purposively selected as respondents. Qualitative data were analysed through some stages, including data presentation, data reduction, conclusion and verification, while the quantitative data was processed using linear regression statistics assisted by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences and STATA software to analyse the influences of variables identified from qualitative data collection and to measure how influential independent variables on dependent variables are. The findings show that the factor leading to the deviation of character values at school is the diversity of cultural backgrounds applied where students come from. Findings of the qualitative investigation show seven aspects influencing the character value deviation, including parents' attention, socialisation, media, consumerism behaviour, self-actualisation, economic status and family harmony. While the quantitative stage found that among seven investigated variables, four of them were significantly influential (parents' attention, socialisation, media and self-actualisation) and three others were not significantly influential (consumerism, economic status and family harmony) on the deviation of character values performed by students.

Metacognition inventory supports increased awareness and self-control to improve student's academic success, including physics. However, there are limitations to revealing the Physics Metacognition Inventory (PMI), especially in Indonesia. This study aims to explore and evaluate the psychometric properties of PMI. This survey research has involved 479 students from three high schools in Indonesia. The psychometric properties of the I-PMI were evaluated using a Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Rasch Model approach. The results show that the Indonesian Physics Metacognition Inventory (I-PMI) is collected in 6 constructs from 26 items. The validity, reliability, and compatibility tests have also been analyzed with good results. The five rating scales used have adequate functionality. This research has also presented more comprehensive information about the Physics Metacognition Inventory in the context of Indonesian culture. This study has implications for using I-PMI to assess students' metacognition at the high school level in Indonesia and recommendations for future research.

This study applies the unidimensional Rasch Model assumptions in identifying physics learning difficulties based on students' self-regulation abilities. A total of 126 physics teacher candidates have been observed for one semester. Self-project as a learning strategy has been used. Data were collected using 20 items in rating scales and then analyzed quantitatively to get feasibility in measuring self-regulation skills. The results have shown that the profile items analyzed by the Rasch Model are feasible to measure self-regulation skills through a self-sustaining project strategy. Most physics teacher candidates have a medium ability of 51% in the process of self-regulation, high = 33%, and low = 16%. The implications of applying self-projects to the processes of self-regulation are discussed in this article.

Sustainable development strategies are becoming demanded in assisting in wealth distribution and improving living conditions for mankind. A sustained community is one of the sustainable development agendas that encourage community involvement and participation in contributing to sustainability. Moreover, with the rapid population growth, especially in urban cities as the proportion of urban dwellers will reach two-thirds of the world population, this will lead to several problems including the social life changing intensely. Sustainable Cohousing is one of the suggested answers for an innovative form of neighbourly accommodation. Generally, Cohousing is formed by a group of people who are committed to living as a community and who actively participate in the design and operation to shape their own neighbourhood. Through this concept, the community can decide how they can implement sustainability principles in terms of social, economical and environmental terms in their neighbourhood. Therefore, it is important to bring back the sense of togetherness amongst the people and improve their social wellbeing through an effective neighbourhood. The objective of this study is to isolate the basic concept of Cohousing and to identify the conceptual framework of Sustainable Cohousing that may apply to improving the sustainable living in Malaysia. The research methodology was through identifying and reviewing the issues in existing literature on cohousing chosen from various dimensions, such as principles and elements, sustainable value, development model and so on, which can be suited with the Malaysian culture. The findings of this research are useful for property development practitioners and policy makers in promoting sustainability through the new concept of modern housing.

This study was conducted in order to analyze the relation between analytical thinking skill and scientific argumentation in physics learning. The study was conducted with the interactive CK 12 simulation about optics. The sample of the study consists of 28 randomly selected students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data was collected using pre and post-test after learning in the class. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistic instruments along with t-test, MANOVA test and Correlation Analysis. Research findings show that analytical thinking skill and scientific argumentation of the students are rather low. Problem based learning with web based simulation can enhance student's scientific argumentation and analytical thinking skill. Also, the correlation analysis conducted to determine the relationship between analyses analytical thinking skill and scientific argumentation. The results indicate that there is a statistical significant relationship between the analytical thinking skill and scientific argumentation.

This study aims to determine the anxiety experienced by Islamic high school students in Yogyakarta and find out the efforts of Islamic high school physics teachers in Yogyakarta in minimizing the anxiety that occurs in their students when facing assessment of physics learning outcomes. This study uses qualitative research methods and descriptive approaches. The subjects of this study were Islamic high school physics teachers and Islamic Senior High School students of class X natural science until the XII natural science class in Yogyakarta. The subject of this study was determined using purposive sampling method. The results of this study indicate that the anxiety experienced by Islamic high school students in Yogyakarta when facing the assessment of physics learning outcomes in the form of a lack of mastery of the concept of learning material. Therefore, the efforts made by Islamic high school physics teachers in Yogyakarta to minimize the anxiety experienced by their students when facing assessment of physics learning outcomes is by conveying the concept of physics material that is clear and easy to understand, provides regular practice questions, provides motivation, and applying learning using existing technology. Therefore, it is expected that teachers can minimize students 'anxiety when facing exams so that students' talents in the academic field are good.

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is an emerging competence of pre-service science teachers in the 21st education century. In Indonesian context, knowledge about the use of technology to develop teachers is way too limited. Therefore, this study aimed to identify pre-service teacher competencies in integrating technology into science instruction. To achieve a consensus of the identification, this study used 30 science experts in three rounds of Delphi method. Out of the 30, 19 participated in Round One, 17 in Two, and 15 in Three. The experts were asked to answer a set of questions in 2 questionnaires in round Two and Three with anonymous identity. The result showed that the experts' agreement promoted the four dimensions of TPACK (4 D-TPACK), which are knowledge, skill, character, and meta-learning. Moreover, most of them identified 26 important competencies which were further specified into 14 items and classified into 4 dimensions. The general pedagogical and technological knowledge were rated with a high-level of competence. Therefore, the implication of these findings is that the institution of pre-service science teachers that integrates technology needs to involve 4 D-TPACK and adopt the significant item of competencies to enhance the program.
