Carbon taxes are increasingly recognized as a critical tool in mitigating climate change by reducing carbon emissions. This study analyzes research trends in carbon tax studies using bibliometric techniques and social network analysis to explore their environmental and economic impacts and policy implications. By analyzing 922 documents from 308 sources published between 1968 and 2024, the study identifies key topics, emerging trends, and collaboration patterns among researchers. The results show a significant increase in carbon tax publications and citations, particularly from 2000 to 2019, peaking around 2017–2019, followed by a decline after 2021. The most frequently studied topics include carbon tax effects on emissions reduction, economic balance, and environmental sustainability. Social network analysis reveals influential researchers and institutions driving the discourse on carbon taxes, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping effective policies. These findings provide insights into the evolution of carbon tax policies and underscore the need for continued research on specialized themes such as the role of carbon taxes in supply chain management, social equity, and energy policy. Abstract Present study was conducted to evaluate the detrimental impacts of exposure of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT-NP) on enzymatic activities and tissue structures in Swiss albino mice. The experimental groups of mice received MWCNT-NP for specific time period (seven or fourteen days). Two distinct doses of the MWCNT-NP solution were given orally: 0.45 µg and 0.90 µg, and the distilled water was given to the control group. Serum samples were extracted at 7 and 14 days after the experiment by centrifuging whole blood for 15 min at 3,000 rpm. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent test (ELISA) was used to measure many enzyme assays, such as Angiotensin Converting Enzymes (ACE), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), and Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate (NADPH) oxidase enzyme. Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining of tissue samples was done along with a histopathological examination. Cloud Radio Access Networks (CRAN) face a critical challenge due to the limited capacity of fronthaul links overwhelmed by massive data transmissions. This paper proposes a novel CRAN design that effectively tackles this challenge. Our approach combines three key elements: (1) Massive MIMO at the baseband unit to leverage large array gain and interference suppression; (2) a novel simultaneous transmitting and reflecting (STAR) reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) that can both transmit and reflect signals concurrently, improving fronthaul capacity through energy splitting technique by enabling communication with remote radio heads serving multiple user equipments; and (3) a data compression technique by optimizing the quantization noise covariance matrix across remote radio heads, significantly reducing the fronthaul traffic load. We formulate a problem to maximize the overall network sum-rate by jointly optimizing transmit power, fronthaul capacity, beamforming vectors at RRHs, data compression, and STAR-RIS transmission-reflection coefficients. To address the nonconvexity of the resulting joint optimization problem, successive convexification along with alternating optimization technique are used to develop an iterative algorithm. Simulations demonstrate that our STAR-RIS-aided CRAN design surpasses conventional reflecting-only RIS aided CRAN by providing full-space coverage and thus offering more degrees-of-freedom compared to traditional RIS.

The current study aimed to explore the effect of Brain-Based Learning on students' intrinsic motivation (IM) to learn and perform in mathematics. Owing to the educational implications of Neuroscience, the researchers planned the mixed-methods experimental study with a convergent parallel research design. The participants were eighth-graders enrolled in a boy's public secondary school in the district Kasur of Pakistan in the academic year 2021-2022. Students were taught mathematics using the traditional lecture method in the baseline phase (A) and withdrawal phase (A). In contrast, in the treatment phase (B), they were taught mathematics with activities based on the BBL approaches and principles. The mathematics motivation scale and observation (field notes) were used to collect quantitative and qualitative data simultaneously. Data were analysed using one-way repeated measure ANOVA and thematic analysis. The researchers revealed that BBL significantly affects students' IM to learn and perform in mathematics. After qualitative analysis, it was found that visual story-telling, role-playing, i-Think maps, back-to-board, and Kick Me Poison Box are the most effective BBL-based activities which keep them engaged, provide emotional support and contribute to students' IM to learn and perform in mathematics. The teachers were suggested to develop BBL-based activities to teach mathematics and to influence students' psychology in the schools.

Today, English has achieved the rank of lingua franca. It is used in a variety of socio-economic situations, including tourism and travel, business and commerce, entertainment and communication, and teaching and learning. As a result, English has become the medium of education in many nations across the world. This shift has generated a discussion around English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) to understand how students with different linguistic backgrounds experience studying in an EMI context. Taking Pakistan as a case, this study explored the challenges of undergraduates in an EMI classroom at a university level. Data were generated through semi-structured interviews with male and female students (n=14) and classroom observations. The results showed that participants faced difficulties in articulating ideas in an organised way, finding appropriate vocabulary and meeting grammar standards. The coping mechanisms include utilising digital resources, depending on the grammar translation method, doing intensive reading and benefiting from relevant support mechanisms at the university. These findings have significant implications for policy and practice for the context where EMI has been receiving increasing attention. The findings also provide a substantial contribution to the literature on EMI from a developing context – the contexts that are struggling to produce market relevant graduates for their growth and development.

With increasing environmental and strategic challenges, achieving sustainable competitive advantage is crucial for businesses. This study aims to examine the impact of strategic risk and green financial management on sustainable competitive advantage, focusing on the mediating role of sustainable business resilience and the moderating effect of government policy. A quantitative approach was utilized, applying the SMART-PLS methodology to analyze data gathered through a survey of 316 small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners in Indonesia, selected for their direct involvement in daily operations and strategic decision-making. The response rate was 63.2%, representing various industry sectors. The results indicate that strategic risk significantly enhances sustainable business resilience (β = 0.796 and p-value < 0.01), which is strongly associated with sustainable competitive advantage (β = 0.458 and p-value < 0.01). Green financial management, however, does not significantly impact resilience (β = 0.008 and p-value = 0.89). Both strategic risk and green financial management, nonetheless, indirectly influence competitive advantage through resilience, reflecting partial mediation (β = 0.112, p-value = 0.02 and β = 0.053, p-value = 0.04, respectively). Additionally, government policy strengthens the effect of green financial management on resilience (β = 0.556 and p-value < 0.01). These findings underscore the importance of firms managing strategic risks proactively and providing supportive regulations to encourage sustainable business practices by governments. The study provides practical insights for businesses and policymakers aiming to foster corporate resilience and enhance sustainable competitive positioning.

Working in a toxic environment makes it harder to be productive. This study examines the direct impact of Machiavellianism and professional envy on research productivity (individual and group) with the moderating role of knowledge-hiding behaviors. For this purpose, through convenience sampling, an online survey through Google Docs was conducted, and 221 permanent faculty members from private sector higher education institutions participated. The impact of moderating variables between predictors and criterion variables was tested through PROCESS-macro. The findings of this study revealed that Machiavellianism and professional envy have a significant negative influence on individuals and as well group-based research productivity. In contrast, knowledge hiding behaviors of faculty members moderate the relationships between Machiavellianism, professional envy, and individual and group-based research productivity.
