LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) je bežična tehnologija za komunikaciju u sustavu Interneta stvari (IoT, Internet of Things) koja se odlikuje velikim prijenosnim udaljenostima i niskom potrošnjom energije, a radi na fizičkom sloju OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) modela komunikacijskih mreža. Nedostatak tehnologije su niske brzine prijenosa podataka. U okviru diplomskog rada opisana je tehnologija LoRaWAN, arhitektura LoRaWAN mreže i navedena frekvencijska područja rada. Osmišljen je sustav utemeljen na primjeni LoRaWAN tehnologije koja uključuje LoRa radijski modul, odgovarajući mikrokontroler i skup senzora kao krajnjih uređaja u pametnom domu. Posebna pažnja usmjerena je na izvedu procedura kojima se sustav spaja na mrežne servere i omogućava dvosmjernu komunikaciju. Također je izrađen podsustav kojim se omogućuje prikupljanje i obrada podataka sa skupa senzora radi dugoročnog praćenja stanja na senzorima, vizualizacije podataka i boljeg upravljanja uređajima u pametnom domu. LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a wireless technology for communication in the Internet of Things (IoT) system, which is characterized by long transmission distances and low power consumption, and works on the physical layer of OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model of communication networks. The disadvantage of this technology is the low data transfer speeds. Within the thesis, LoRaWAN technology, LoRaWAN network architecture and frequency ranges are described. Futhermore, a system based on the application of LoRaWAN technology has been designed, which includes a LoRa radio module, a corresponding microcontroller and a set of sensors as end devices in a smart home. Special attention is paid to the execution of procedures by which the system connects to network servers and enables two-way communication. In the end, a subsystem has been developed that enables the collection and processing of data from a set of sensors for long-term monitoring of the state of the sensors, data visualization and better management of devices in the smart home.
