In the “new normal,” a non-paper-and-pencil admission process becomes a challenge. This correlational analysis aims to choose possible admission candidates for SHS STEM strand by determining possible connections between the NCAE General Scholastic Aptitude (GSA), STEM Strand Preference (SSP), and Area of Occupational Interest (AOI), with the academic performance (AP) of STEM students of Ateneo de Iloilo (ADI) Senior High School (SHS). The study covered 124 STEM students data protection protocols. It showed that Ateneans have Proficient (85.6%; SD=3.13) AP and Above Average NCAE GSA (school: 93.95%; national: 37.87%) and SSP rating (90.92%). There is also a significant difference in the GWA if classified according to GSA (p=0.00), SSP (p=0.00), and AOI (p=0.031). There is a strong positive correlation (r=0.646, p=0.00) in the students’ GWA and GSA. The same was likewise observed in students’ Grade 11 performance (except PE) and their corresponding GSA areas: scientific ability, reading comprehension, verbal ability, mathematical ability, and logical reasoning ability. The study suggested that the direct relationship between NCAE and Grade 11 AP validates the efficacy of the NCAE instrument as guide in career/strand advising and in approximating students’ potential AP in Grade 11.

This descriptive-correlational study analyzed the guidance and counseling (GC) needs of the Junior High School (JHS) students in Iloilo City in order to develop a comprehensive program that would contextually address their needs. The study used a standardized Students Counseling Needs Questionnaire. It has 81 items divided into four domains: Academic, Personal/Social, Career, and Social Responsibility. 267 students participated in the survey representing 10 purposively-selected JHSs in the city. Statistical tools used for analysis are Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, and Spearman’s Rho at 5% confidence level for non-parametric inferential computations; while mean and standard deviation were used for descriptive analysis. Results revealed the following: Public Schools have Higher Perceived Needs for Guidance Counseling (HPNGC) than Private Schools; the higher the age of the students, the higher the Higher Perceived Need for Guidance Counseling; there is no significant difference in terms of parents’ educational status and occupation; there is a high significant difference between Public Schools and Private School in terms of Higher Perceived Needs for Guidance Counseling in Personal/Social Needs. The results showed that the needs of Junior High school students in Iloilo City are ranked as follows: Career, Social /Personal, Academic and Social Responsibility. With this, a 100-page expert-validated Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program (CGCP) was contextually designed for Iloilo City JHS students following a 4-pronged framework with focus on themes: Career, Personal/Social, Academic, and Social Responsibility. Further studies must be done in terms of the specific areas of concern affecting JHS students of Iloilo City and other similar areas where a program can be built upon making the offerings more purposive and contextual.

This descriptive study aims to determine the school culture typology and school leadership category of a Jesuit school, Ateneo de Iloilo. Using stratified random sampling, 76 teachers were asked to fill out two standardized instruments of the ASCD, namely: (a) School Culture Typology (SCT) worksheet and (b) School Culture Survey (SCS) sheet. Analysis of data was done using central tendencies and standard deviation. The SCT survey showed that the most dominant typology in Ateneo is the “collaborative” type of school culture. However, it also has a secondary blend of “contrived collegiality” and “comfortable collaboration.” “Collaborative” culture is found to be prevailing in the following areas: “decision making,” “openness,” “communication,” “socialization,” and “organizational history.” But results also showed that the school needs to further improve on areas of “trust” among teachers and “parent relations.” Meanwhile, the SCS survey revealed that the teachers “strongly agree” in the high level of “professional development” and “unity of purpose” in school. However, it was also found that teachers still need to develop more their “trust to each other” and to be more “open in discussing disagreements over instructional practices.” The administration must also be more aggressive in structurally giving space, reward, and recognition to curricular innovators. It is hereby recommended that the results of this study must cascade down to the teachers through school summits, institutional meetings, and PLCs for affirmation, dialogue, and reflection. Similar study may also be made with the other stakeholders of the school for triangulation.

Ateneo de Iloilo has conceptualized a 20-day review program entitled ADI-SMCS Training on Test Readiness for Admission to College (ATTRAC). This aimed to prepare students for entrance tests in top schools in the country. It covered 109 Grade 11 Atenean participants who joined ATTRAC. The data collected were statistically analyzed using measures of central tendencies, Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, paired sample t-test, and Pearson r at 0.05 level of significance. Qualitative triangulation was also made. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the overall pretest and posttest scores in the College Admission Test (p=0.00), showing progress from a pretest mean score of 78.57 to a posttest mean score of 114.33. Also, moderately positive and significant correlation (r=0.709) between the overall pretest and posttest scores was established. It also had high positive and significant correlation between the pretest and the posttest under English Test (r=0.751), while moderately positive and significant correlation was found between the pretest and posttest under Mathematics (r=0.591) and Reading (r=0.470) Tests. The pretest-posttest results of Science Reasoning Test registered a negligible and insignificant correlational value (r=0.121). Participants also revealed that time is their usual “enemy” during tests. They unanimously recognized the benefit of review to them, especially in reminding them of the basics, getting them used to different test designs, and practicing time-bound drills. ATTRAC was found to give positive results to SHS reviewers but it can still improve in its offerings, especially in science reasoning and test hacks.

Hospital health promotion plays an important role in promoting steps not to smoke in the hospital environment, the presence of a smoke-free area is important to protect health from carcinogenic and addictive substances in tobacco products. The research method is qualitative with a rapid assessment procedure research design at the PKRS Installation in November 20. The research informants were the head of the installation and the secretary at the PKRS installation and the technique of taking informants was by purposive sampling. Data were collected by means of in-depth interviews, observation and document review. The results of the study identified problems, namely the visitor's efforts to comply with the KTR policy were not optimal, the implementation of education in community activities was not optimal, the implementation of education in the implementation of IEC on drug side effects was not optimal, Effective communication training for health workers and non health workers had not been implemented 100% and the implementation of curative health promotion has not been optimal. From the existing problems, the priority of the problem is determined using the USG (Urgency Seriousness Growht) technique, which is weighted and ranked from the existing problems and the priority of the problem is that the visitors' efforts are not yet optimal in implementing the KTR policy. Alternative solutions to the problem are socializing officers, making plans for routine and scheduled activities in promoting the KTR policy and the impact of smoking, increasing the frequency of social media use, coordinating and selecting KTR health promotion ambassadors, then collecting data on the location and number of KTR information media facilities as well as proposing activities and suggestions Keyword : Non-Smoking Area, Visitors, PKRS Promosi kesehatan di rumah sakit memainkan peran penting dalam memfasilitasi langkah berhenti merokok di rumah sakit. Rumah sakit tempat berkumpulnya masyarakat, oleh karena itu pentingnya penerapkan Kawasan Tanpa Rokok untuk melindungi kesehatan dari karsinogen dan zat yang adiktif yang terkandung dalam produk tembakau. Penerapan KTR di RSUD belum berjalan maksimal, salah satunya disebabkan oleh kurangnya sosialisasi pihak rumah sakit kepada pengunjung dan kurangnya sarana dan prasarana penyampaian infromasi KTR. Upaya - upaya dapat diterapkan dalam jangka waktu dekat dengan melakukan sosialisasi kepetugas, membuat rencana promosi KTR yang terjadwal serta meningkatkan frekuensi pemanfaatan media sosial. Metode Penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan prioritas masalah dan rekomendasi di Instalasi PKRS Bulan November 2021. Informan penelitian adalah kepala Instalasi dan sekretaris pada Instalasi PKRS dan tehnik pengambilan informan dengan cara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara mendalam, observasi dan telaah dokumen. Hasil penelitian dapat diidentifikasi masalah yaitu belum optimalnya upaya pengunjung dalam kepatuhan pengunjung menerapkan kabijkan KTR, Belum optimal penerapan edukasi pada kegiatan komunitas, Belum optimal penerapan edukasi pada pelaksanaan KIE pengobatan dan efek samping obat, Pelatihan komunikasi efektif untuk petugas nakes dan non nakes belum terlaksana 100 % serta pelaksanaan pomosi kesahatan kuratif belum optimal. Dari masalah yang ada ditentukan prioritas masalah menggunakan Teknik USG (Urgency Serioussnes Growht) yaitu dilakukan pembobotan dan di ranking dari masalah yang ada dan prioritas masalah adalah Belum Optimalnya upaya pengunjung dalam kepatuhan pengunjung menerapkan kabijakan KTR . Alternatif pemecahan masalah melakukan sosialisasi kepetugas, membuat rencana kegiatan rutin dan terjadwal dalam dalam mempromosikan Kebijakan KTR dan dampak rokok, meningkatkan frekuensi pemanfaatan media sosial, melakukan koordinasi dan memilih duta promkes KTR , selanjtunya mendata lokasi dan jumlah sarana media informasi KTR serta mengusulkan kegiatan dan saran tersebut Kata kunci : Kawasan Tanpa Rokok, Pengunjung, PKRS

COVID-19 merupakan penyakit pandemi dan menular melalui benda-benda yang terkontaminasi termasuk linen pasien COVID-19. Laundry rumah sakit mempunyai peran penting dalam mencegah penyebaran virus COVID-19 dengan melakukan pengelolaan linen yang tepat dan sesuai standar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengelolaan linen COVID-19 di RSUD Kota Dumai. Metode Penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan desain penelitian rapid asessment procedure di Instalasi Laundry pada Bulan November 2021. Informan penelitian adalah kepala Instalasi dan kepala ruangan pada Instalasi Laundry dan tehnik pengambilan informan dengan cara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara wawancara mendalam, observasi dan telaah dokumen. Hasil penelitian dapat diidentifikasi masalah yaitu belum ada visi, misi, program kerja, struktur organisasi dan uraian tugas yang jelas, belum optimalnya pelatihan, pengawasan, manajemen konflik, pengelolaan linen COVID-19, belum ada evaluasi progaram kerja dan mutu linen. Dari masalah yang ada ditentukan prioritas masalah menggunakan Teknik USG (Urgency Serrioussness Growht) yaitu dilakukan pembobotan dan di ranking dari masalah yang ada dan prioritas masalah adalah Belum Optimalnya Pengelolaan Linen COVID-19. Alternatif pemecahan masalah perlu peningkatan pada 3 sistem yaitu sistem input yaitu dilakukan pelatihan, sosialisasi, penyediaan dan realisasi anggaran serta penyusunan SOP/Pedoman pengelolaan linen COVID-19.
