In the process of deep mining, the temperature of mine water is significantly higher than that of shallow coal seams. The erosion of high-temperature hydrothermal fluids affects the physical and chemical characteristics of coal, which in turn affects its spontaneous combustion process. To study the spontaneous combustion characteristics and influencing mechanisms of coal under the influence of hydrothermal erosion in deep mining, through low-field nuclear magnetic resonance, molecular dynamics simulation, mechanical test and C600 trace heat experiment, the influence of hydrothermal erosion on coal porosity, pore size distribution, mechanical strength and oxidation heat characteristic parameters was analyzed. Combined with correlation analysis, the correlation between various parameters was quantitatively described. The study results show that under the dual influence of thermal stress and swelling, the internal pore structure of hydrothermal eroded coal changes significantly. There is a significant positive correlation between hydrothermal temperature and total porosity of coal, and the correlation coefficient is 0.97. With the increase of hydrothermal temperature, the total porosity of coal increases from 0.24% to 1.35%, the proportion of micropores decreases from more than 69% to less than 60%, and the proportion of mesopores and macropores increases. Coal body pore size significantly affects the oxygen diffusion coefficient, which increases exponentially with a linear increase in coal body pore size. Under the influence of hydrothermal erosion, the development of coal pores and the dissolution of some organic matter significantly reduce the mechanical strength of coal. From raw coal to 80 ℃ hydrothermal eroded coal, the average compressive strength decreases from 23 MPa to 11.6 MPa, which is reduced by 50%. Compared with raw coal, the heat release intensity of hydrothermal erosion coal is higher and the heat release is greater. The heat release of TH40, TH50, TH60, TH70 and TH80 increase by 12.61%, 16.63%, 17.32%, 19.36% and 25.02%, respectively. The correlation coefficient between hydrothermal temperature and coal oxidation heat release is 0.92. Hydrothermal erosion significantly affects the porosity and oxidation process of coal. As the hydrothermal temperature increases, the porosity of the coal body increases, the mechanical strength weakens, the oxygen consumption and oxidation rate of the oxidation process accelerate, and the heat release increases. Hydrothermal erosion coal has a higher risk of spontaneous combustion, and the higher the hydrothermal temperature is, the greater the risk is.

Degradation of water quality is an emerging issue in many developing countries. In this context, industrial and domestic effluents heavily contaminate the coast of Moknine Continental Sebkha in Tunisia. The present study aimed to biomonitor the seawater quality of the Moknine Continental Sebkha coast using physicochemical and ecotoxicological approaches. The ecotoxicological assessment was performed using three species representing different trophic levels, namely Vibrio fischeri, Selenastrum capricornutum, and Lepidium sativum. In the physicochemical analysis such as BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), TSS (total suspended solids), TOC (total organic carbon), NO3− (nitrate), AOX (adsorbable organic halogen), the recorded levels of pH and total suspended solids did not comply with the Tunisian standard (NT.09.11/1983). The ecotoxicological data confirmed that the tested water samples displayed toxicity to two test indicators L. sativum and S. capricornutum. A targeted chemical screening of the Moknine Continental Sebkha coast previously performed revealed the presence of total mercury, four phthalate acid esters, and one non-phthalate plasticizer, a fact that could explain the observed ecotoxicological effects and therefore might harm the biotic area and the health of the surrounding population. Previous research has highlighted bullying as a significant issue in Indonesia, with a notable increase in cyberbullying among adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic, adversely affecting their psychological well-being. However, there has been limited discussion on bullying in the post-COVID-19 era. This study has three aims. The first is to examine the subjective well-being (SWB) of children who have either experienced bullying or have not been bullied after the pandemic. The second is to assess the occurrence of both traditional bullying (involving siblings and at school) and cyberbullying in Indonesia following COVID-19. The third aim is to investigate the factors linked to these forms of bullying post-pandemic. The participants were middle school students (N = 943; 57.2% girls, 45.0% in grade 7). The Children's Worlds Subjective Well-Being Scale with five items (CW-SWBS5) was employed to assess children's SWB. Separate measures were utilized for traditional and cyberbullying. Six factors—family, school climate, personal satisfaction, friendships, safety, and social media usage—were analyzed as independent variables using linear regression to determine their impact on bullying forms. The structural equation model (SEM) was applied to evaluate how these bullying types affect SWB. The findings revealed that sibling bullying and cyberbullying significantly influenced children’s SWB, with girls reporting lower SWB scores than boys. Cyberbullying emerged as the most prevalent form of bullying post-pandemic. A positive school climate was found to shield children from bullying. Cummins' theory of well-being homeostasis was employed to interpret the results. This study also discussed implications for educators and parents.

This study aims to increase student learning motivation using Augmented Reality (AR) media in the context of science learning. The research method used was collaborative classroom action research with research subjects consisting of XI MIPA 1 students at SMA Negeri 9 Bogor City. This study used learning motivation questionnaires as a measuring tool, with indicators that included confidence in self-ability, learning strategies that activate students, the meaning of science learning, achievement, and learning environment stimuli. Augmented Reality media was developed using the Halo AR application and applied to learning plant tissue structure and function material (KD 3.3 and 4.3) and animal tissue structure and function (KD 3.4 and 4.4). The results showed that the application of AR media in learning has succeeded in increasing the average learning motivation of students by 0.6 points, which increased from 2.41 to 3.01 in the 2nd action cycle. Based on the results of this collaborative classroom action research, it can be concluded that the use of Augmented Reality media is effective in increasing the learning motivation of students in class XI MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bogor. These results make an important contribution to developing innovative and more engaging learning strategies and can lay the foundation for developing broader technology-based education in the future.

Isolated aldosterone synthase deficiency is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by pathogenic variants in CYP11B2, resulting in impaired aldosterone synthesis. We report on a neonate with isolated aldosterone synthase deficiency caused by a novel homozygous CYP11B2 variant Chr8: NM_000498.3: c.400G>A p.(Gly134Arg). The patient presented shortly after birth with severe signs of aldosterone deficiency. Interestingly, segregation analysis revealed that the patient's asymptomatic father was also homozygous for the CYP11B2 variant. Biochemical evaluation of the father indicated subclinical enzyme impairment, characterized by elevated aldosterone precursors. Apparently, this homozygous variant led to different clinical phenotypes in two affected relatives. In this manuscript we elaborate on the biochemical and genetic work-up performed and describe potential pitfalls in CYP11B2 sequencing due to its homology to CYP11B1.

The quick response (QR) code-based attendance application contributes to reducing paper usage and attendance input errors. However, in its implementation process, the QR-code-based attendance at a Bandung school demonstrates weaknesses. Absent students can fake their attendance for themselves or friends. This type of attack is known as fake QR code generation. This research proposes a security authentication system using the Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA) encryption algorithm and the secure hash algorithm 1 (SHA-1) to secure QR code-based attendance applications from fake QR code generation attacks. The RSA algorithm encrypts QR code data to maintain privacy, while the SHA-1 algorithm ensures data integrity. Based on this method, the mutual authentication process between the QR code data generated by the student and the attendance reading application by the teacher can be established. The results obtained from a series of tests showed that the security system in the student attendance recording application that had been implemented at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Al-Mukhlishin could detect and prevent fake QR code generation attacks. The test was conducted by changing the impact of the key length on RSA-1024 bits and RSA-2048 bits. The results showed that in RSA-1024 bits, energy consumption of 0.14 J and time of 1.66 s is more efficient than that in RSA-2048 bits, with energy consumption of 0.19 J and time of 2.09 s. Interestingly, if a higher level of security is required, the key length should be increased at the expense of some energy and time efficiency.

Small intestinal adenocarcinomas, comprising less than 5% of digestive cancers, present diagnostic and therapeutic intricacies often overshadowed by more common digestive malignancies. This report highlights the unique metachronous characteristic of the case, emphasizing the presence of intussusception, to contribute valuable knowledge and refine medical approaches for optimizing outcomes in these rare and complex scenarios. A 73-year-old male, previously operated for right colon adenocarcinoma, developed metachronous liver metastasis a year later, successfully treated. Presenting with acute intestinal obstruction, imaging confirmed mechanical obstruction, prompting small intestine resection and stoma creation. The postoperative phase, characterized by meticulous care, ensures ongoing close oncological follow-up for this complex medical journey, with the added complication of intussusception. Amid the rarity of small intestinal adenocarcinomas in digestive cancers, our unique case sheds light on the challenges in diagnosis and treatment, particularly highlighting the presence of intussusception. The distinctive approach of small intestine resection and stoma creation underscores ongoing debates on adjuvant chemotherapy, reflecting an evolving management landscape. This underscores the crucial role of continuous research and multidisciplinary strategies in optimizing outcomes for patients facing this uncommon malignancy complicated by intussusception. This report provides valuable insights into the complexities of diagnosing and managing small intestinal adenocarcinomas, particularly when complicated by intussusception. As we navigate this nuanced medical terrain, continuous research and multidisciplinary approaches remain pivotal for refining our understanding and optimizing outcomes in small intestinal adenocarcinomas.

Wine pomace contains high amounts of bioactive compounds, mainly polyphenols, with varying concentrations depending on multiple factors. This research aimed to determine differences in the content of polyphenols and antioxidant activity of the wine raw materials and pomace of Japanese quince (‘Rasa’), aronia (seedlings), and grape (‘Hasansky Sladky’) and between harvest years (2021, 2022), as well as between fruits and pomace. Pomace from aronia and Japanese quince was obtained after maceration for 5 and 7 days, respectively, while grape pomace was collected on the day of harvest. The polyphenol content of fruits and pomace varied significantly between harvest years. Aronia had the highest total polyphenol content in fruits (989 mg GAE 100 g-1) and pomace (1022 mg GAE 100 g-1), followed by Japanese quince (625 and 722 mg GAE 100 g-1) and grapes (390 and 481 mg GAE 100 g-1). Aronia fruits and pomace had higher antioxidant activity. Compared to the fruits, aronia pomace had less chlorogenic acid and neochlorogenic acid. Flavanols were the main polyphenols in the Japanese quince, showing lower content in the pomace when compared to fruits, except catechin content was higher. The content of anthocyanins and flavonols was higher in the rosé wine pomace than in the fruits of grapes.

Accurate prediction of the structurally diverse complementarity determining region heavy chain 3 (CDR-H3) loop structure remains a primary and long-standing challenge for antibody modeling. Here, we present the H3-OPT toolkit for predicting the 3D structures of monoclonal antibodies and nanobodies. H3-OPT combines the strengths of AlphaFold2 with a pre-trained protein language model and provides a 2.24 Å average RMSDCα between predicted and experimentally determined CDR-H3 loops, thus outperforming other current computational methods in our non-redundant high-quality dataset. The model was validated by experimentally solving three structures of anti-VEGF nanobodies predicted by H3-OPT. We examined the potential applications of H3-OPT through analyzing antibody surface properties and antibody–antigen interactions. This structural prediction tool can be used to optimize antibody–antigen binding and engineer therapeutic antibodies with biophysical properties for specialized drug administration route.

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes, widely used for their stability, face limitations due to the hardly adjustable pore size in nanoscale and inherent hydrophobicity. To address this, we proposed a co-deposition method incorporating dopamine (DA), polyethyleneimine (PEI), and silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanoparticles with glutaraldehyde cross-linking for precise regulation of pore size and hydrophilicity in PVDF hollow fiber membranes. Notably, the pore diameter reduced from 119.0 ± 3.55 nm to 18.4 ± 0.36 nm, while the contact angle decreased from 107.7° to 40.9°. This simultaneous regulation led to a high-performance PDA/PEI/SiO2-PVDF hydrophilic ultrafiltration membrane with a rejection rate exceeding 99% for 20 nm nanoparticles in a long-term simulated separation experiment while achieving a significant protein permeability of 97% in BSA permeation experiments. Additionally, the membrane demonstrated exceptional long-term stability, offering a novel approach for tuning the performance of ultrafiltration/microfiltration membranes.

Abstract Background Breast cancer in Tunisia is often diagnosed at a late stage with long delay in time to consultation and to diagnosis.The aim of this study is to estimate the sensitivity and specificity of the transcutaneous breast cancer detection by canine olfactionin Tunisian women and to identify the potential confounding factors. Methods This is a diagnostic case control study that took place from October 2021 to November 2022 in the Department of Medical Oncology at the University Hospital Farhat Hached of Sousse and in the security and training dog center located in Sousse (K9 Dog Center Security & Training). A two-year-old male Belgian Malinois was trained to detect breast cancer on skin secretion samples in compresses that had been worn overnight by women on their breast and then a double-blind testing was performed. There was no contact between women and the dog. From the mentioned responses of the dog, four parameters were calculated: sensitivity, specificity, Positive Predictive Value (PPV) and Negative Predictive Value (NPV). Results Two hundred women were included in this trial: 100 breast cancer (BC) patients recruited from Farhat Hached University Hospital of Sousse and 100 healthy volunteers (HV).The calculated sensitivity was 84% (95% CI 78–89%) and the calculated specificity was 81% (95% CI 75–86%). The calculated predictive values were: PPV = 83,51% (95% CI 78,37–88,65%) and NPV = 81,55% (95% CI 76.17–86.93%). In the multivariate study, only four confounding factors of test’s sensitivity were retained: age (OR = 1.210 [95% CI = 1.085–1.349]; p = 0.001), history of diabetes(OR = 0.017 [95% CI = 0.001–0.228]; p = 0.002), sampling at hospital (OR = 0.010 [95% CI = 0.003–0.464]; p = 0.010) and testing during chemotherapy courses (OR = 0.034 [95% CI = 0.003–0.404]; p = 0.007).For test’s specificity, we retained the three following confounding factors: age (OR = 1,104 [95% CI = 1.021–1.195]; p = 0.014), history of benign mastopathy (OR = 0.243 [95% CI = 0.074–0.805]; p = 0.021)and history of arterial hypertension (OR = 0.194 [95% CI = 0.053–0.707]; p = 0.013). Conclusion This is a pilot study that opens new avenues in developing a reliable cancer diagnostic tool that integrates the dog's olfactory ability to detect breast cancer using a transcutaneous sampling method. It could be a pre-test to select patients who are eligible to a screening mammogram, especially in low-income countries where there is no national mammography screening program. With the advancements been made in Nickel Titanium (NiTi) rotary files to decrease complications during root canal treatment, however, different irrigation solutions are being used during the procedure that might affect the cyclic fatigue resistance of instruments. In this study effect of irrigation solutions on NiTi was compared. A total of 30 files were divided into three groups of sodium hypochlorite, EDTA and normal saline, each group containing 10 files. After the immersion the files were rotated inside a custom-made block until the files were fractured. According to t-test group II (EDTA) showed maximum mean time taken until fracture and least mean time in case of Group I (sodium). however according to ANOVA test no significant difference between the experimental groups were found. Within the limitations of this study, EDTA had the least effect while sodium had the greatest effect on cyclic fatigue of the instruments.

The remarkable growth of process mining applications in care pathway monitoring is undeniable. One of the sub-emerging case studies is the use of patients’ location data in process mining analyses. While the streamlining of published works is focused on introducing process discovery algorithms, there is a necessity to address challenges beyond that. Literature analysis indicates that explainability, reasoning, and characterizing the root causes of process drifts in healthcare processes constitute an important but overlooked challenge. In addition, incorporating domain-specific knowledge into process discovery could be a significant contribution to process mining literature. Therefore, we mitigate the issue by introducing cognitive process mining through the DIAG approach, which consists of a meta-model and an algorithm. This approach enables reasoning and diagnosing in process mining through an ontology-driven framework. With DIAG, we modeled the healthcare semantics in a process mining application and diagnosed the causes of drifts in patients’ pathways. We performed an experiment in a hospital living lab to examine the effectiveness of our approach.

In this paper, we introduced the class of $ n $-quasi-$ (m, q) $-isometric operators on a Banach space. Such a class seems to be a natural generalization of $ m $-isometric operators on Banach spaces and of $ n $-quasi-$ m $-isometric operators on Hilbert spaces. We started by giving some of their elementary properties and studying the products and the power of such operators. Next, we focused on the dynamic of a $ n $-quasi-$ m $-isometry. More precisely, we proved a result by characterizing the supercyclicity of such a class.

Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) is a pathogenic fungus that grows mostly on birch species (Betula pendula Roth and B. pubescens Ehrh.) and has traditionally been used as an anticancer medicine. This study aimed to compare the chemical composition and cytotoxic activity of chagas growing on both Betula spp. on various cancer cell lines. The freeze-dried extracts contained triterpenes inotodiol, lanosterol betulin, and betulinic acid typical to conks growing on Betula species. The cytotoxic activity of chaga growing on Betula pendula and B. pubescens 80% ethanolic extracts against 31 human cancer cell lines was evaluated by a sulforhodamine B assay. Chaga extract showed moderate activity against all cancer cell lines examined; it did not result in high cytotoxicity (IC50 ≤ 20 µg/mL). The strongest inhibitions were observed with chaga (growing on B. pendula) extract on the HepG2 and CAL-62 cell line and with chaga (from B. pubescens) extract on the HepG2 cell line, with IC50 values of 37.71, 43.30, and 49.99 μg/mL, respectively. The chaga extracts from B. pendula exert somewhat stronger effects on most cancer cell lines studied than B. pubescens extracts, which can be attributed to a higher content of inotodiol in B. pendula extracts. This study highlights the potential of chaga as a source of bioactive compounds with selective anticancer properties. To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first investigation of the chemical composition of I. obliquus parasitizing on B. pubescens.
