Background: Resveratrol, a natural polyphenolic phytoalexin, is broadly presented in dietary sources. Previous research has suggested its potential neuroprotective effects on ischemic stroke animal models. However, these results have been disputable. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to comprehensively evaluate the effect of resveratrol treatment in ischemic stroke rodent models.Objective: To comprehensively evaluate the effect of resveratrol treatment in ischemic stroke rodent models.Methods: A literature search of the databases Pubmed, Embase, and Web of science identified 564 studies that were subjected to pre-defined inclusion criteria. 54 studies were included and analyzed using a random-effects model to calculate the standardized mean difference (SMD) with corresponding confidence interval (CI).Results: As compared with controls, resveratrol significantly decreased infarct volume (SMD −4.34; 95% CI −4.98 to −3.69; p < 0.001) and the neurobehavioral score (SMD −2.26; 95% CI −2.86 to −1.67; p < 0.001) in rodents with ischemic stroke. Quality assessment was performed using a 10-item checklist. Studies quality scores ranged from 3 to 8, with a mean value of 5.94. In the stratified analysis, a significant decrease of infarct volume and the neurobehavioral score was achieved in resveratrol sub-groups with a dosage of 20–50 mg/kg. In the meta-regression analysis, the impact of the delivery route on an outcome is the possible source of high heterogeneity.Conclusion: Generally, resveratrol treatment presented neuroprotective effects in ischemic stroke models. Furthermore, this study can direct future preclinical and clinical trials, with important implications for human health.

This study focuses on the method of trajectory planning of spatial obstacle avoidance for redundant manipulators based on configuration plane method. Firstly, according to the summary of the work configuration for redundant manipulator, kinematics analysis method based on configuration plane is proposed, which helps to establish a basic kinematics model of configuration plane. Secondly, the analysis of velocity is conducted and velocity iterative formula is derived. Then, the process of the trajectory planning for redundant manipulator based on the velocity distribution of configuration plane is given, during which some key procedures such as the determination of work configuration, achieving spatial obstacle avoidance, and analysis of velocity distribution are deduced. Finally, the simulation of spatial circle trajectory planning for the 7-degree-of-freedom redundant manipulator is done. The experimental results show that the proposed trajectory planning method for redundant manipulator can satisfy the requirements of complex spatial obstacle avoidance and increase the controllability of the trajectory between spatial interpolation points of the manipulator’s end effector.

BackgroundShort-segment transpedicular screw fixation is a common method for the treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures (TBFs),but this technique has many problems. Therefore,the purpose of this article is to observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy of a novel transpedicular reducer that we designed for fractured vertebral body reduction and bone grafting in the treatment of TBFs.MethodsFrom July 2018 to November 2020, 70 cases of TBFs were included. Thirty-five patients were treated with the novel transpedicular reducer for reduction and bone grafting combined with pedicle screw fixation (observation group), and 35 patients were treated with short-segment transpedicular screw fixation (control group). Before the operation, after reduction, and 3 days, 3 months,and 12 months after the operation, the two groups were assessed, and compared with respect to the anterior and middle heights of the injured vertebrae, the ratios of the anterior and middle heights of the injured vertebral body to the respective heights of the adjacent uninjured vertebral bodies (AVBHr and MVBHr, respectively), and the Cobb angle of the patients. We compared the pain VAS score and quality of life GQOL-74 score at the last follow-up. Finally,we evaluated the distribution of bone grafts and bone healing 12 months after the operation.ResultsThe anterior height, middle height, AVBHr, MVBHr, and Cobb angle of the injured vertebral body in the observation after reduction, and 3 days, 3 months and 12 months post-operatively were compared with those of the injured vertebral body before operation. All of these parameters were improved, and the difference was statistically significant (p p p p > 0.05). The observation group showed no obvious defects on CT at 12 months after the operation, and the bone healing was good.ConclusionThe novel transpedicular reducer for reduction and bone grafting combined with pedicle screw fixation for TBFs has good clinical efficacy.

Purpose: In this study, computed tomography (CT) radiographic measurements and common clinical scores were used to evaluate the effectiveness of percutaneous posterior full-endoscopic resection of an ossified thoracic ligamentum flavum. Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 16 patients treated with posterior endoscopy from September 2017 to November 2019. Before the operation, 3 days after the operation and 1 year after the operation, the area of ossification in the ligamentum flavum was assessed by sagittal CT scans and transected to evaluate the decompression effect of posterior endoscopic surgery. The clinical efficacy of the surgery was evaluated at the above time points by using the visual analog scale for pain, modified Japanese Orthopedic Association scale, ODI and Macnab efficacy evaluation. Results: The area of sagittal ossification in the ligamentum flavum in 16 patients was 116.62±32.72 mm2 before the operation, 15.99±12.54 mm2 3 days after the operation, and 16.78±11.49 mm2 1 year later. The sagittal canal invasive proportions were 48.10±10.04% before the operation, 6.46±4.86% 3 days after the operation, and 6.83±4.48% 1 year later. The area of transected ossification in the ligamentum flavum was 141.59±27.25 mm2 before the operation, 11.72±8.64 mm2 3 days after the operation, and 10.82±7.57 1 year later. The transected spinal canal invasive proportions were 57.58±11.37%, 4.76±3.45% and 4.40±3.01%. The mJOA score were 3.50±1.10, 6.19±0.91 and 9.19±1.38, with a n average recovery rate of 73.96±16.58%. According to the Macnab evaluation, the recovery status of the 16 patients 1 year after the operation was excellent in 9 patients, good in 5 patients, and fair in 2 patients; the excellent and good rate was 87.50%. The differences were statistically significant (PConclusion：The measurements of ossification ligamentum flavum area and spinal canal invasive proportion can appropriately evaluate the degree of spinal canal stenosis in thoracic myelopathy caused by ossification of the ligamentum flavum. This method can be used together with other common clinical scores to better evaluate the efficacy of surgery.

In order to solve the influence of external disturbance of ocean current and uncertainty of system parameters on the control stability and tracking accuracy of underwater manipulator, an ADRC (Active Disturbance Rejection Control) control method based on terminal sliding mode is proposed. This method is insensitive to hydrodynamic parameter change and flow disturbance, and has strong robustness. It uses saturation function instead of sign function to make control signal more stable and control output more gentle. The reliability, stability and robustness of the proposed control method are verified by simulating the actual underwater situation and simulating the controller under different conditions, such as current environment and external disturbance environment.

Background: Leiomyosarcoma occurs commonly in the abdomen, retroperitoneum, large blood vessels, and uterus[1]. Cardiac leiomyosarcoma is a rare and highly aggressive sarcoma. Methods and Results: Here, we report the case of a 63-year-old male with pulmonary artery leiomyosarcoma. Transthoracic echocardiography showed a large 4.4×2.3 cm hypoechoic mass in right ventricular outflow tract and pulmonary artery. Pulmonary computed tomography angiography showed a filling defect in similar location. Surgery was performed due to tend to occlusion. A yellow mass adhered to ventricular septum and pulmonary artery wall was detected and compressed pulmonary valve. By immunohistochemistry, the tumor cells stained positive for Desmin and smooth muscle actin, and stained negative for S-100, CD34, myogenin, or myoglobin, KI67(+)80%, supported leiomyosarcoma. Conclusion: The patient had recovered from surgery and had been on following-up.
