The carbon fiber layer and the porous foam metal aluminum, are selected to composite the composition of a variable thickness cantilevered trapezoidal plate for modeling and free vibration analysis. Hamilton’s principle is used to develop the motion control equation of the trapezoidal plate with variable thickness cantilevered sandwich, and Galerkin’s approach is used to determine the inherent frequency of the system. The research employs suitable analytical methods to solve them, and analyzes the outcomes to uncover the effects of geometric parameters, material properties, and thickness variations on the structure. Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) is commonly released from plastics in aqueous environment, which can disrupt endocrine system and cause adverse effects on public health. There is a pressing need to highly sensitive detect DEHP. Herein, a near-infrared (NIR) light-driven lab-on-paper cathodic photoelectrochemical aptasensing platform integrated with AgInS 2 /Cu 2 O/FeOOH photocathode and "Y"-like ternary conjugated DNA nanostructure-mediated "ON-OFF" catalytic switching of hemin monomer-to-dimer was established for ultrasensitive DEHP detection. Profiting from the collaborative roles of the effective photosensitization of NIR-response AgInS 2 and the fast hole extraction of FeOOH, the NIR light-activated AgInS 2 /Cu 2 O/FeOOH photocathode generated a markedly enhanced photocathodic signal. The dual hemin-labelled "Y"-like ternary conjugated DNA nanostructures made the hemin monomers separated in space and they maintained highly active to catalyze in situ generation of electron acceptors (O 2). The hemin monomers were relocated in close proximity with the help of target-induced allosteric change of DNA nanostructures, which could spontaneously dimerize into catalytically inactive hemin dimers and fail to mediate electron acceptors generation, resulting in a decreased photocathodic signal. Therefore, the ultrasensitive DEHP detection was realized with a linear response range of 1 pM–500 nM and a detection limit of 0.39 pM. This work rendered a promising prototype to construct powerful paper-based photocathodic aptasensing system for sensitive and accurate screening of DEHP in aqueous environment. Dynamical characteristics of the spacecraft with flexible components are investigated in this paper. The component consists of a flexible shaft and solar panels, where solar panels are completely fixed on the shaft. A novel power series multiplier polynomial method is proposed to describe the connecting condition between the shaft and solar panels. The deformation and force matching conditions between the one dimensional shaft and two dimensional panels are established, which is the major contribution about the multidimensional combined structure of this study. According to constraining boundary conditions of the shaft and solar panels, the bending-torsion coupled deformation of the component is expressed. The attitude maneuvering of the central platform and the elastic vibration of the component cause the rigid-flexible coupled effect. Then the discrete dynamical equation of the spacecraft is obtained by using the rigid-flexible coupled modal shapes. The correctness of the proposed method is verified by comparing the natural characteristics with that of the finite element model. The relative error of the higher order frequency is not more than 4%. Numerical results show that the degree of the bending angle polynomial should be at least quadratic to ensure the accuracy of the calculation. The proposed power series multiplier polynomial breaks through the barriers that the traditional Lagrange multiplier cannot express the continuous constraint. Sr 0.99 La 0.01 TiO 3 (SLT10) colossal permittivity (CP) ceramic materials were synthesized using solid phase method and secondary heat treated using mixed oxidant 35%Bi 2 O 3 –10%Al 2 O 3 –20%MgO–25%CuO–10%SiO 2 oxidant. The heat treatment atmospheres were chosen as O 2 , air, and Ar to correspond to different oxygen partial pressures. The dielectric properties of the Sr 0.99 La 0.01 TiO 3 -Percolated (SLT10-P) ceramics were investigated, and the contribution of the oxidant to the resistivity enhancement was verified by complex impedance spectroscopy and DC resistivity tests. Excellent dielectric properties were obtained for SLT10-P Air ceramic sample (16543 for dielectric permittivity and 0.016 for loss tangent), and the resistivity was increased from 2.13 × 108 Ω cm (SLT10) to 1.23 × 1011 Ω cm (SLT10-P Air). The resistance degradation mechanism of SLT10-P ceramics and oxygen vacancy migration in the process of resistance degradation were studied by using resistance monitoring device and thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC) test. The introduction of oxidant optimizes the temperature stability and resistivity of SLT10 ceramics, but it will lead to the decrease of dielectric permittivity. The atmosphere of heat treatment changed the concentration of oxygen vacancy in ceramics. When SLT10-P O 2 was treated in O 2 atmosphere, the concentration of oxygen vacancy in ceramics decreased, which led to the decrease of dielectric permittivity and the increase of grain boundary resistance. For SLT10-P Ar ceramic, more oxygen vacancies and free electrons are induced by low oxygen partial pressure heat treatment, which enhances the dipole effect of electron pinning defects and leads to colossal dielectric permittivity, but high concentration of oxygen vacancies will affect the resistance decline. High-performance Sr 0.99 La 0.01 TiO 3 ceramics were synthesized using a conventional solid-phase method, and Sr 0.99 La 0.01 TiO 3 percolated (SLT10-P) samples with excellent resistivity were obtained by coating with an oxidant and heat treatment. In this work, simultaneous excellent dielectric properties (16667 of dielectric permittivity, 0.016 of loss tangent at 1 kHz) and high resistivity (1.44 × 1011 Ω·cm at DC100V) was achieved in SLT10-P ceramics at room temperature by modulating the duration of thermal treatment. X-ray Diffraction and scanning electron microscope analyses proved the diffusion of the oxidant in the grains and grain boundaries during the heat treatment. The increase in grain boundary resistance is mainly due to the fact that the insulating layer formed by the oxide ions entering the grain boundary hinders the long-range movement of electrons. In addition, the diffusion of oxygen from the air into the ceramic during the heat treatment process also contributes to the insulation of grain boundaries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Herein, an outstanding excellent energy storage performance (ESP) (W rec ∼4.4 J/cm3; η ∼72%; Δ P = 38.1 μC/cm2) was obtained in environmentally friendly 0.52BiFeO 3 -0.4SrTiO 3 -0.08NaNbO 3 lead-free ceramic. First, the addition of NaNbO 3 (NN) lead to composition and charge disorder of A- and B- sites, generating random electric field that induce the emergence of small-sized polar nano-regions (PNRs) to enhance Δ P (P max - P r). Rietveld refinement analysis showed that introducing NN reduces the content of polar R3c phase from 81.8% to 24.4%, and the non-polar Pm3m phase increased. When x ≥ 0.08, the antiferroelectric-like double P-E loops were acquired due to field-induced phase transition, and further lower P r and E c were obtained. Then, the introduction of NN greatly improved the breakdown strength of BFO-STO ceramics. That is, enhances electrical homogeneity, increases energy gap (E g) and refines grain size (from 1.05 to 0.75 µm). Through domain engineering, antiferroelectric-like design and other multi-factors to achieve the optimization of ESP, providing a feasible strategy for lead-free pulse energy storage capacitors. Additionally, the good temperature (20–120 °C) and frequency (1–100 Hz) stability acquired to less than 15% in favor of practical applications. The interactions between SO 2 and natural salt aerosol particles represent complex and crucial dynamics within atmospheric processes and the broader climate system. This study investigated the SO 2 uptake, hygroscopicity, morphology and mixing states of natural salt particles, which are generated from brines sampled from the Chaka salt lake located in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau. A comparison with atomized pure NaCl particles is included as reference. The results show that NaCl particles exhibit the lowest SO 2 uptake, while Chaka salt particles demonstrate higher uptake due to their complex composition. The hygroscopicity of salt particles is influenced by several factors, including chemical complexity, SO 2 exposure and light conditions. In comparison to pure NaCl, Chaka salt displays higher hygroscopicity, which is further enhanced in the presence of SO 2. However, when exposed to light, mass growth is suppressed, suggesting the formation of species with lower hygroscopicity, such as Na 2 SO 4. Analysis of particle morphology and mixing states reveals notable distinctions between NaCl crystals and Chaka salt particles, where the Chaka salt particles exhibit rounded shapes with a structure composed of cubic NaCl cores surrounded by sulfate materials as a coating. In addition, the chemical morphology analysis also reveals that the particles show morphological and spectral changes before and after the exposure to SO 2 , light and high RH. The Y element doping equipped the paper-based Y:ZnO nanorods with enhanced PEC performance, which was further cosensitized with Cu 3 (BTC) 2 metal-organic framework (MOF) and CuInSe 2 quantum dots (QDs), giving a cascaded sensitization effect for generating a robust and stable photocurrent signal. The SPR effect between CuInSe 2 QDs and Au nanoparticles (NPs) was activated with the aid of entropy-driven SDA propelled DNAzyme roller amplification-induced conversion of target miRNA-21 to Au NPs-labelled track DNA (track DNA-Au), which could effectively promote the photogenerated carrier separation and transfer of CuInSe 2 /Cu 3 (BTC) 2 /Y:ZnO cascade sensitized structures via hot-electron transfer mechanism, further enhancing the photocurrent signal. Based on this designed "signal-on" mode, the quantitative detection of miRNA-21 was achieved with high sensitivity, good specificity, and excellent practicability, which provided a promising model for developing lab-on-paper diagnostic tool for biomedicine. Frequent mining stress disturbances in deep-earth resource extraction lead to different degrees of initial damage within cemented tailings backfill (CTB), which in turn changes the structural characteristics of the matrix and significantly affects the stability of CTB. To simulate the stress disturbance process of CTB during mining activities more realistically, cyclic loading and unloading disturbances were performed on the CTB. The stress disturbance levels (SDL) were 20, 40, 60, and 80% uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), and the stress disturbance counts (SDC) were 5, 10, 15, and 20 times, respectively. Subsequently, a series of experimental studies were conducted on CTB and disturbed damage CTB (DCTB) using UCS, nuclear magnetic resonance, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) testing, and acoustic emission (AE) monitoring. The results show that the UCS of the backfill decreased with increasing SDL and SDC, except for 20% SDL and 5th SDC. The elastic modulus exhibited a rise at 20%–40% SDL and a fall at 60%–80% SDL. Compared with CTB, the stress–strain curve of DCTB showed a left shift - overlap - right shift - accelerated right shift change in the compacting stage with increasing SDL. Moreover, the porosity and UPV reflected by the mesoscopic structure correspond to the trend of UCS. The correlation mechanism between mesoscopic structure and macroscopic strength was determined, and the initial damage degree of DCTB was defined in terms of the average variation characteristics of macro-mesoscopic parameters. According to the AE monitoring results, it was observed that increasing SDL and SDC led to a significant increase in the AE energy active stage during loading. The damage curve established from the AE energy considering the initial damage degree rose exponentially. As the initial damage degree intensified, a noticeable and wide-range drop in the b -value before the peak was observed, indicating the occurrence of frequent large-scale fracture activities within the DCTB. Also, the damage degree of DCTB intensified, the collapse zone increased, and the failure mode of the backfill transformed from tensile to mixed tensile-shear damage. Visual word recognition is crucial for improving reading skills in second language learners (L2Ls). It is unclear whether L2Ls who are native speakers of languages that use alphabetic scripts can recognize Chinese characters at an early stage of visual processing and if their visual specialization can reach a level of word recognition comparable to that of native Chinese speakers. This study aims to uncover the visual specialization mechanism of Chinese L2Ls. A delayed-color matching task was carried out with participants who were Chinese first language speakers (L1Ss) and advanced Chinese L2Ls with Indonesian as their first language. The results of the event-related potentials (ERPs) indicated that L2Ls exhibited significant visual specialization with a predominant distribution of the left-lateralized N170, along with some activation in the right hemisphere. Integrin α5β1 is crucial for cell attachment and migration in development and tissue regeneration, and α5β1 binding proteins could have considerable utility in regenerative medicine and next-generation therapeutics. We use computational protein design to create de novo α5β1-specific modulating miniprotein binders, called NeoNectins, that bind to and stabilize the open state of α5β1. When immobilized onto titanium surfaces and throughout 3D hydrogels, the NeoNectins outperform native fibronectin and RGD peptide in enhancing cell attachment and spreading, and NeoNectin-grafted titanium implants outperformed fibronectin and RGD-grafted implants in animal models in promoting tissue integration and bone growth. In the past, research on the cognitive neural mechanism of second language (L2) learners' processing time information has focused on Indo-European languages. It has also focused on the temporal category expressed by morphological changes. However, there has been a lack of research on L2 learners' various time coding means, especially for Mandarin, which lacks morphological changes. Using event-related potentials (ERPs), we investigated the cognitive neural mechanism of L2 learners with native Indonesian background in processing two time coding means (time adverbs and aspect markers) in Chinese. Indonesian has time adverb encoding time information similar to that of Chinese, but there are no aspect markers similar to Chinese in Indonesian. We measured ERPs time locked to the time adverb " (cengjing)" and the aspect marker "verb + (verb + guo)" in two different conditions, i.e., a control condition (the correct sentence) and a temporal information violation. The experimental results showed that the native speaker group induced the biphasic N400-P600 effect under the condition of time adverb violation, and induced P600 under the condition of the aspect marker "verb + (verb + guo)" violation. Indonesian L2 learners of Chinese only elicited P600 for the violation of time adverbs, and there was no statistically significant N400 similar to that of Chinese native speakers. In the case of aspect marker violation, we observed no significant ERPs component for the Indonesian L2 learners of Chinese. Both groups of subjects induced elicited a widely distributed and sustained negativity on the post-critical words after "verb + (verb + guo)" and "(cengjing)". In the process of coal-filling mining, the gangue fly-ash slurry (GFS) needs to be transported over a long distance to reach the gobs. The abrupt closure of the valve during the transportation of GFS can result in a water hammer that significantly endangers the stability and safety of the pipeline transport system. To study the fluctuations in pressure induced by abrupt closure of the valve, experiments on the rheological parameters of gangue-coal ash slurry were conducted. Transient numerical simulations were carried out using the computational fluid dynamics method for various valve closing times. The results indicate that, with the increase of slurry concentration, the yield stress of the slurry significantly increases. When the concentration exceeds 76%, the increase in yield stress reaches 38.4% and 35.1%, respectively. Upon valve closure, the internal pressure of the slurry in the pipeline exhibits periodic dynamic oscillations. As the duration of valve closure increases, the frequency of periodic water hammer events decreases. The maximum water hammer pressure caused by valve closure decreases with the increasing distance between the valve and the closure point. At the same time, the intensity of maximum water hammer pressure fluctuations increases with the increase in slurry concentration and flow velocity in the pipeline. African swine fever virus (ASFV), a devastating pathogen to the worldwide swine industry, mainly targets macrophage/monocyte lineage, but how the virus enters host cells has remained unclear. Here, we report that ASFV utilizes apoptotic bodies (ApoBDs) for infection and cell-cell transmission. We show that ASFV induces cell apoptosis of primary porcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) at the late stage of infection to productively shed ApoBDs that are subsequently swallowed by neighboring PAMs to initiate a secondary infection as evidenced by electron microscopy and live-cell imaging. Interestingly, the virions loaded within ApoBDs are exclusively single-enveloped particles that are devoid of the outer layer of membrane and represent a predominant form produced during late infection. The in vitro purified ApoBD vesicles are capable of mediating virus infection of naive PAMs, but the transmission can be significantly inhibited by blocking the "eat-me" signal phosphatidyserine on the surface of ApoBDs via Annexin V or the efferocytosis receptor TIM4 on the recipient PAMs via anti-TIM4 antibody, whereas overexpression of TIM4 enhances virus infection. The same treatment however did not affect the infection by intracellular viruses. Importantly, the swine sera to ASFV exert no effect on the ApoBD-mediated transmission but can partially act on the virions lacking the outer layer of membrane. Low-cost and underutilized plant fibers can affect the mechanical behavior of cementitious materials such as cemented tailings backfill (CTB). This paper attempts to explore the mechanical properties and damage evolution characteristics of rice straw fiber (RFS)-reinforced CTB (RSFCTB) from the perspective of energy. A series of mechanical and microscopic tests were carried out on CTB and RSFCTB samples. On this basis, the energy evolution law and of the filling body under different stress paths were analyzed. Meanwhile, a damage variable based on dissipation energy was established, and the damage evolution process of the filling body was discussed. The results show that uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of filling body first grew and then dropped with the enhancement of RSF content, and indirect tensile strength (ITS) was positively correlated with RSF content. Scanning electron microscope showed that RSF was encapsulated by hydration products, which promoted the bridging effect of RSF. The bridging effect of RSF improved the integrity of RSFCTB after compression failure and resulted in bending and asymmetric tensile cracks after tensile failure. The energy storage limit and dissipation energy of the filling body under different stress paths were enhanced due to the incorporation of RSF. The damage curve based on dissipation energy showed three stages of slow, steady, and fast damage under compressive loading. The damage curve of RSFCTB was located below CTB depending on the crack arresting effect of RSF. Moreover, the damage curve under tensile load shows three stages: slow, stable damage, and sudden increase in damage. The damage value of RSFCTB at the mutation point was increased, and the ability of RSFCTB to resist tensile damage was enhanced. The mechanical characteristics of cemented paste backfill (CPB) are significantly influenced by the loading rate (LR) and initial defects. Therefore, the CPB with prefabricated fracture (PF, PFCPB) was prepared, and uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) tests considering LR and acoustic emission (AE) monitoring were performed. The particle flow code (PFC2D) was introduced to analyze the mesoscopic crack evolution of the filling body, and the moment tensor theory was used to invert the AE signals characteristics. The results show that as the PF angle increased, the UCS and elastic modulus (EM) of PFCPB decreased and then increased, and the 30° PF was the turning point. The mechanical properties of PFCPB were deteriorated by the presence of PF. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties of PFCPB were positively correlated with the LR. The stress-strain curve of PFCB (excluding 90°) showed bimodal curves. After the UCS test, the macro crack of PFCPB sprouted at the tip of PF or converged toward PF. PFCPB mainly suffered from shear failure, accompanied by a few tensile failures. Numerical simulation results showed that the crack initiation stress of PFCPB was reduced by the PF. The number of cracks first dropped and then gradually increased when the PF angle was enhanced, while gradually increased with the LR increased. Meanwhile, the mesoscopic AE characteristics of CPB were strongly in line with the test results. The AE events of 0 ~ 60° PFCPB experienced two slow rising periods and rapid rising periods. The temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of AE corresponded to the crack evolution trend. The PF was prone to stress concentration, especially at the tip and upper and lower surfaces of 0 ~ 45° PF, resulting in rapid crack initiation and reducing the energy storage limit and mechanical behavior of 0 ~ 45° PFCPB. The increasing LR (within a certain range) was in favor of improving the mechanical behavior of the filling body. Mutations in protein kinases are often associated with the development of cancer, and application of mutant-specific inhibitors as therapeutic measures have shown a remarkable improvement in prolonging patient survival. However, it has also been observed that tumors bearing certain mutation types are more resistant to current approved drugs. Importantly, many resistant mutations are located in regions outside substrate or inhibitor binding sites, indicating allosteric effects. Understanding how mutations trigger effects over a distant site of the protein requires a deeper investigation of the molecular origin of allosteric regulation networks in kinases. In this chapter, we show the application of single-molecule optical tweezers to selectively manipulate specific regions of proteins to trace allosteric signals, thereby allowing the elucidation of allosteric communication networks. We illustrate this approach using as model system the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A. This single-molecule optical tweezers approach, however, can be readily applicable to study other kinases, and can be further expanded to screen potential allosteric drugs for future therapeutics., (© 2022. The tilted supine position has been evaluated to be one of the significantly effective approaches to prevent bedsore of the patients in the bedridden state. Thus, it has deeply positive influences that in view of dynamics this study explores how the position works. Based on the anatomical theories, this study formulates the human dynamic model. Furthermore, the dynamic simulation of three usual postures in tilted supine position including lying on back, lying with one knee bent and lying with the upper and lower limb on one side lifted is carried out. Therefore, the changes of the three driving forces named as chest force, waist force and thigh force in the tilted supine position can be observed. In order to verify the validity of this simulation, this study obtains the electromyogram measurements of ectopectoralis, external obliques and thigh muscles which are respectively close to the chest, waist and thigh by conducting the human force measurements experiment. The result revealed that in terms of range and trend, the experimental data and simulation's data were consistent. In conclusion, the changes of these muscles in the supine position movements are researched efficiently by both this experiment and the dynamic simulation. Besides, the result is crucially key to find the mechanism of human's tilted supine position movements.

Purpose: Trephination is one of the basic operations of keratoplasty, and the biomechanical mechanism of the operation can be revealed based on three-dimensional modeling and simulation of trephine cutting cornea., Methods: Based on the analysis of the physical and biomechanical characteristics of corneal trephination, a three-dimensional numerical model of corneal trephination is built, where the cornea can be simplified to two layers structure including stroma and epithelium, and the trephine cuts the cornea under the vertical motion load and the rotational motion load. A three-dimensional failure criterion of corneal material is proposed based on the yield strength theory. On this basis, trephination simulation is carried out, and the units of corneal material are removed from the model when they meet the defined failure criterion., Results: Under the given parameters including the velocity, the angle and the angular velocity, the trephine force curves, include the linear cutting force and the rotary cutting force are obtained, and show the change of the forces with displacement during the process of trephination simulation. The maps of the equivalent stress show the destruction and deformation of the cornea. Then, the experiment of robotic trephination is carried out under the same parameters and the effectiveness of the simulation is evaluated., Conclusions: Based on mechanics theory and finite element method, the process of trephine cutting cornea has been reproduced, and the interaction mechanism is revealed, which lays the foundation for the development of real-time simulation and virtual system of the corneal surgery.
