This works investigates zoological findings, especially the species and quantity of game, preserved in gamekeeper statistics of the second half of the 19th century. The information is sorted by the year of the shooting and by the kind of animal; and further by the location of the shooting. The relevant locations here are the three great regions: Kingdom of Bohemia, Moravia, and Duchy of Silesia; which, with minor territorial changes, constitute present Czech Republic. The data used in this work were gathered from the corresponding regions' archives, that is from the National Archives of Czech Republic, the Moravian regional archive in Brno and the Regional archive in Opava. One of the introductory chapters depicts the territorial development of these regions. The acquired data are organized into tables and graphs. The focus of the theoretical portion of this work is to systematize and clarify the data about game-shooting during a specific time in our history for selected game species. Bachelor thesis is focusing on scientific illustration in zoology, its form and progression in history. It characterizes concept of scientific illustration, individual types and techniques used for its creation in drawing and printing. It also deals with important aspects in the creation of zoological drawing. The work focuses on historical development of depiction of animals from primary art to photographically accurate zoological drawing in the 20th century, while in each period are defined several examples of depictions. The second part of the bachelor's thesis describes and evaluates 9 historical depictions of animals from different periods and then compares them with own creation of specific animals.

This diploma thesis deals with the didactic use of Loketsko as a target area for organizing science excursions for the second stage of basic schools. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the geological, floristic and faunistic specifics of the routes through which the proposed excursions lead. Special attention is paid to the issue of invasive plants in the Ohře Valley. Due to the glorious past of Loket, the theoretical part includes some chapters related to the history of the town of Loket and the castle of the same name. It also outlines a brief history of tin mining in the Slavkov Forest, which played an important role in the historical development of the area. The focal point of the work is the practical part, which has several objectives. The first aim is to create, realize and evaluate knowledge questionnaire survey, which aims to find out what awareness of the nature of Loket have pupils of the second level of elementary school in Loket and elementary school in Novy Sedlo. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to emphasize how significantly human life can be influenced even by small organisms such as castor bean tick, head louse and bed bug. A listing of possible complications and diseases that we can encounter in everyday life in connection with these representatives is presented in this work. Treatment options are mentioned as well but the work focuses mainly on prevention. The introductory part of the thesis defines parasitism as a very specific life strategy. This phenomenon is seen here from many angles, and the individual types of parasitism are complemented by examples of specific parasitic representatives. The next part of the thesis deals only with selected hematophagous ectoparasites. The physical structure, developmental stages, occurrence of these arthropods and also their effects on the host are described here. The final part of this work focuses on the use of arthropod parasitology in teaching. The chapter includes several exercises that could be used to teach parasitology at primary or secondary school, as well as a test of pupils' hygiene literacy and linking parasitism to other educational subjects. In this diploma thesis I tried to show in a way understandable to high school students, how the landscape of Atlantic Europe changes from north to south. I have created a handbook, that can be used in lessons, called: From North to South: A Picture Guide to the forest habitats of Atlantic Europe. In that handbook, we can follow the landscape change on the profile pictures made in 50 kilometres distances. The pictures are complemented by a textbook on Europe's biomes with a climatic specification, characteristic plants and animals and their relationships to the given environment, and the role of a man in these biomes. The main text is supplemented by an interesting information given separately in boxes. In the second part of the thesis I focused on using my handbook in teaching. I have proposed several ideas that can serve as an inspiration for teachers. This guide tries to make an interdisciplinary link between biology and geography lessons, that will enable students to realize the continual changes among particular biomes in Europe. The thesis deals with inventory survey of birds in the area of natural park Čeřínek. This paper examines the various data points from bird census, which took place from March 2017 to November 2017. The subject of this diploma thesis is an analysis of the historical existence of European bison in the Czech geographical region and an evaluation of the significance of its presence to the surrounding landscape. The goal of the thesis is to depict bison population changes in the Czech territory over time and the meaning of efforts to reintroduce the bison into its natural habitat. An important part of the work then will be the preparation, realization and evaluation of two excursions during which students go for European bison directly into the field.

The objective of the Diploma Thesis, which is divided into two parts, is to summarize the issue of wastewater treatment for teaching purposes. In the theoretical part, it is possible to find interesting facts from the history, the beginnings of sewerage in the Czech, treatises on sewage, urban and industrial sewage. The thesis describes waste water, its composition and explains the concept of sewerage. The most extensive chapter is the section on sewage treatment plants. It deals with the type of sewage plants, cleaning processes and water and legislation. Readers will be informed about the drainage in Benesov and the sewage treatment in this city. An integral part is the issue of sewage treatment plants for family houses and root cleaner. This thesis is conceived as a detailed guide to the creation of didactic aids, namely the creation of dermoplastic preparations and fish skeleton for teachers of natural science and biology at various levels of schools. In this work we describe individual prepared fish species. The diploma thesis works to verify the diploma thesis Martin Chlad, who recently developer a detailed methodology for body preparation of the whole fish. The result of the practical part of the thesis are fish models that serve to extend the collections of the Department of Biology and Ecological Studies and to extend the collections of the Biological Cabinet to my current work place at elementary school in Prague 9.

The aim of this bachelor thesis (Rescue Stations for Handicapped Animals) was to find out how the rescue stations work, which laws regulate these institutions, what animals are most affected, how long they have to stay there on average or what is the success of returning to the wild nature. This work is mainly devoted to Czech rescue stations. Information about them has been found through questionnaires sent to these institutions with questions about their functioning, their patients, financing and employees. This questionnaire was sent to individual stations and their results were analyzed. A part of the analyses is also focused on the pedagogical side of the rescue stations, e.g. whether these facilities are attended by schools or if the staff of the stations is organizing discussions at schools. It has been found that most rescue stations are dedicated to environmental education and are trying to educate the public. That is very important, as many animals that get to rescue stations are very young animals that are unnecessarily removed from their parents. The result is, that need to grow up in rescue stations. Many permanently disabled animals must remain in these facilities, often helping the public in the context of education.

The aim of this work is to point out the interconnectedness of human life with parasitic organisms, especially with the Castor bean tick (Ixodes ricinus). This tick forms an integral part of our rich invertebrate fauna and has become an increasingly frequent interest of media in the last few decades. This thesis attempts to bring closer the relationship between tick and man from different perspectives, and to reveal essence as well as pitfalls of tick life. For many people, this arthropod represents an insurmountable resource of aversion and fear. Hence, an integral part of the thesis is the introduction of prevention methods and treatment of parasitic diseases transmitted by the tick, as well as monitoring of new trends in the therapy and development of vaccines. Also, the text offers a proposal how to bring the tick closer to the pupils in teaching Biology. This diploma thesis deals with an eagle owl as a model species for environmental education. The first part focuses on this species and how it was perceived in the past and the possible reasons for its pursuit. The second part focuses on the progressive return of this owl to Czech nature and legal measures to protect it. In the third part the thesis focuses on the presence of eagle owl in neighbouring countries of the Czech Republic and their latest states and legal measures. The last and practical part is focused on the perception of secondary forestry students and grammar school students on the return of selected vertebrates to Czech nature. This part focuses mainly on comparing the perception of eagle owl to other vertebrates in Czech nature.

This Master thesis is focused on selected pollinators of our meadows and their didactic integration into education. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In theoretical part, there are defined two orders (Hymenoptera and Diptera), process of pollination, plants pollination strategies and pollen grain. Practical part is focused on research of dipterans (particularly on hoverflies) of which purpose was to find out which plants are most pollinated. Subsequent section deals with analysis of secondary school Biology textbooks in terms of representation of selected pollinators. Next section contains plan of practical exercise, which deals with whether honey contains pollen grains. In final section of practical part, a worksheet is presented, which verifies pupil's knowledge about pollinators. The thesis presents methodology of creating whole-fish dermoplastic models. It is primarily intended for teachers of natural history and biology. The results are based on mapping out both modern and traditional methods of fish taxidermy. By empirical verification and introduction of new methods, a comprehensive manual of fish taxidermy was created. It can serve as a useful didactic tool. Methodology also describes the issue of obtaining and preserving fish specimen. Profound knowledge of fish anatomy is a necessary prerequisite for specimen taxidermy, thus methodology also includes anatomical overview and guidelines for fish anatomical dissection. The output of the practical part of the thesis are dermoplastic fish models which became part of the specimen collection at the Department of Biology and Environmental Studies at the Faculty of Pedagogics at Charles University, where they are meant to be used for educational purposes. I chose the topic for my diploma thesis " The Excursion for the Elementary School Pupils along the Riverside of the Vrchlice River Aiming at Woody Plants". I took that topic intentionally just for several reasons. I wanted to bring a scenic valley of the Vrchlice river to pupilsˇ attention, to make the identification of woody plants more attractive in the natural scientific excursion, and to consolidate pupils' relation to nature and neighbouring environment. The first theoretical part deals with the general description of this valley and at the same time with the characteristic of animals and plants. Selected sorts of woody plants are described in the most detailed way as they became initial ones for working out worksheets and for the natural scientific excursion. The next part of the diploma thesis concerns inquiry research the goal of which was to find out the interest of teachers from nearby basic schools in worksheets dealing with the woody plants issues of the river Vrchlice. Worksheets dealing with selected wooden plants were elaborated on the basis of the research assessment. Those worksheets were verifield in the follow-up excursion. The presented bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is the introduction to the issue of classic recultivations and spontaneous succession in the Czech Republic. It deals with both herbs as well as suitable and unsuitable woody species used during recultivation. There are examples of places which have been recultivated or were by accident or luck left to nature. Endangered and rare species of fauna and flora which can be found at this type of disturbed places are also mentioned with regards to specific types of recultivations. To get a better idea of recultivations and succession some chapters are accompanied by picture documentation. Two terrain excursions for elementary school pupils are suggested in the practical part. These excursions should, accompanied by a suiting explanation, help understand the issue of the presented topic. Activities such as word-finder games, a short test and a creative part are presented to the pupils for better consolidation of knowledge. Title of the Thesis The Palynological Analysis of the Pollen Collected by Honey Bee (Apis mellifera) in the Prague-West Area Abstract This diploma thesis underlines the importance and significance of bee pasture. The first part of the thesis contains the presentation of the honey bee (Apis mellifera). It also describes the structure of the pollen grain, pollen as such, and its use regarding bee nutrition, the factors determining bee harvest of pollen, the means of its collecting and the use of bee pollen and bee bread. Furthermore, there are characteristics of pollen pasture in the time of early spring, spring, summer, late summer and autumn. The second part is dedicated to the palynological analysis of the area of Prague-West, Úhonice. The diploma thesis contains the evaluation of the food offer for the bees from the aforementioned location, and the summary of pollen-yielding plants blooming between 1 April 2017 and 27 June 2017. The sampling of pollen balls, which had taken place within this time span, provided the initial information about the nutrition of bees as well as the data regarding the diversity of plant species in the chosen location. This diploma thesis deals with common parasites of game animals, animals and human occurring in the territory of the Czech Republic. It focuses on their fixation and general preparation of such specimens for usage in teaching of Science. The first part is devoted to the phenomenon of parasitism, and the history and definition of this concept. Systematic hierarchy of various unrelated parasitic groups is clarified. The second part provides the list of parasites, from the evolutionary original to the highly derived groups. We give an overview of their morphology and anatomy with the emphasis on their life cycle. The detailed knowledge of life cycle is essential for obtaining specimens. In each group, we indicate methods of collection and fixation in detail. The co called smartmicroscope represent the main point of the third part of proposed diploma thesis. The master's thesis focuses on Slapy valley reservoir which is first described as a suitable location for fishing and recreation. Special attention is also paid to its history. The main body of the thesis features the enumeration and characteristics of individual fish species which occur in the reservoir. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the evaluation of the fishing management of the reservoir from 1962 to 2016 considering fish stock and catches of individual species. Factors influencing the development and dynamics of the fish stock are also evaluated. The summary management of Slapy valley reservoir is analyzed in terms of fish stocking and fishing yields. In addition, the population dynamics trends of predatory and non-predatory fish species are analyzed on the basis of fishing catches. In the conclusion, the current condition of the fish stock is evaluated and some minor recommendations for optimizing the fishing management of the reservoir are proposed. The main theme of my bachelor's thesis is about Bird territory Jaroslavické rybníky, and itś use in natural history class. The work is divided to two parts - theoretical and practical. At the beginning of the theoretical part, I am describing Znojmo district where Jaroslavické rybníky are found. In chapter two I am clarifying ecological concepts, which needs to be known for the following chapter about pond ecosystem and its importance in the nature. The fifth part of my work is about history of fish breeding in Morava, because ponds are often associated with it. Sixth chapter is focused on history of Jaroslavické rybníky, and the following chapter describes bird region Jaroslavické rybníky. Second, pracitical part of the thesis includes suggestions for landscaping practise and work lists associated to them. The lists comprise ecology, zoology and botany. These field exercises are designed for Javorické rybníky and their surroundings. Worksheets are intended primaly for students of second stage of elementary schools, or can be eventually used for repetition of basic knowledge of biology for students of high school. This bachelor thesis is meant to be an inspiration and source of information not only for teachers, but for all who are interested in nature and biology.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of "The application of the PASCO measuring system in experimental Science teaching". It is focused on the support of this technology in lessons and it shows the usage of this system at secondary school. It concentrates on the use of the pupils' set PASCO Sensorium - a set of measuring probes, sensors and other accessories, at selected secondary schools during experimental teaching in Science. The theoretical part deals with the definition of the territory Frýdlantsko, physical geographic characteristics, and localities that were used for field experiments. It also explains properties and application of individual sensors associated with this system. It is a kind of a methodical aid for teachers of Science.The practical part of the work includes experiments worked out by the author. These experiments can be used for Science teaching in the classroom or for field research. This work is focused at approaching a not very familiar topic, which are myrmekophyles, otherwise called ant guests. This is a group of animals who have learned to live in the ant society, who are otherwise considered to be very dangerous and strictly territorial. The work is primarily composed of two main parts. The first one is devoted to the ants themselves, whose understanding is key to percieve the life of myrmecophiles. They are described here as a group itself, then some ilustrations of their life strategies, interest and specialization. The second part is dedicated to myrmecophiles and is divided into several subchapters according to individual groups and species. The main idea of this work is to bring this subject closer and more illuminating. Therefore, the work is written in general and seeks to keep as much information as possible. The effort was contained in this work of sufficiently professional and interesting knowledge, as well as the work to write in a way that is understandable and interesting as well to a potential unprofessional readers, where I hope it might rasie interest in and further interest in this matter.

This works main topic is raising vertebrates at school. It includes their problems and benefits. Its aim is to create a clear text offering information to people interested in this activity. The questionnaire method was used to find experiences of teachers from both the Czech Republic and abroad (Norway, Poland, Spain). The diploma thesis is focused on finding the relationship of primary school pupils and secondary school students to the carnivores of the Czech Republic in the Lusatian Mountains and Ralsko Upland. Among the selected carnivores are brown bear (Ursus arctos), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolf (Canis lupus). Fox (Vulpes vulpes) is used in the thesis for comparison. The thesis collects the opinions on these carnivores and compares them. The survey was realized by questionnaire survey. The thesis includes the characteristics of carnivores and their extensions.

CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is a modern form of interdisciplinary teaching linking teaching subject and language teaching. The work builds on the thesis, in which I created and Science worksheets in English language. The aim of the thesis was to create, publish and verify in practice a complex CD with interactive materials for teaching zoology and supplementary materials for teachers introducing CLIL into the classroom. The teaching materials include a lot of pictures, games and interactive exercises that can enrich teaching biology in primary and secondary schools. This work summarizes the possibilities of introducing CLIL into biology, analyzes each part of the tutorial CD and evaluates the effectiveness by primary and secondary schools teachers. The obtained data were evaluated using a questionnaire survey, which shows that CLIL method in the Moravian - Silesian region is only marginally extended, the main limiting factor for introducing CLIL method into practice is an inadequate methodological support. This thesis is concerned with changes of countryside caused by the construction of the nuclear power plant Temelín mainly represented by the lost villages not only in the closest surroundings, but in the area of the Hněvkovice dam as well. In total, eight villages had to be cleared and great areas of farmland were transformed. The individual lost villages are briefly characterised in terms of history and then there is a description of what particularly was demolished and what has remained. The theses is based on comparison of photographs from the past with the contemporary state.

This diploma thesis is focused on invertebrates' survival and activity during winter; and on methods of their capture. The first part of the theoretical section describes principles of cold hardiness, strategies of winter survival and activity in snow environment. Furthermore, different methods of invertebrates capturing are presented. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the verification of selected invertebrates capturing methods during winter. The results summarize the differences in the diversity and quantity of animals caught; and provide an overview and characteristics of selected captured taxa. Suggestions for a snow fauna excursion and a practical exercise focused on capturing invertebrates during winter are proposed based on the results of the study. This work contains a research on the class amphibia and evaluate the relationship between man and amphibians (morphology, physiology, biology, etology, bioindiation, threat and conservation of amphibians, myths, toxikology etc.). Amphibians are analyzed as a model group with respect of using them in educational praxis (model group of animals in education of biology, zoology, ecology, etology, nature protection, literature etc.). Exotic species are choosed as examples, which are best for care in schools. Here are made also manuals for breeding of selected less demanding species in aquarium or aqua-terrarium conditions and for observing their life histories.

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the age-old phenomenon of gold, which initially was characterized as an element and as a mineral focusing on its properties and current and historical occurrence and mining in the World and the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the thesis also characterizes the former goldmine Roudný with the description of the geology, gold deposits, history of mining and description of processing technology of the gold ore. The following part devoted to nature and landscape protection in the former goldmine Roudný including an analysis of the negative consequences of the re-mining in the study area.
